Speaker 1 (00:00):
As I do each week.
I get to Thursday, usually Istart asking God okay, what do
you want me to share?
And started thinking about someof the things that I'm trying
to work on, and that's buildbetter habits.
No matter who you are, you canalways focus on building better
habits.
It was clear today to talkabout those habits.
What are three of the tophabits we should build into our

(00:20):
daily lives?
All right, let's talk about thefirst one.
All of these are very muchbiblically based.
I'm not necessarily going togive you a whole bunch of
scriptures.
I know for a fact that many ofthese are biblically based.
The very first habit that wewant to build every single day
is spending time with God.
If you look in the gospels andyou read what Jesus would do,

(00:44):
jesus very often would leaveearly in the morning and go to a
place by himself and use thattime for prayer.
It even says he meditated.
He would go away and meditate, which means he would just get
quiet, listen, quiet his heartdown.
I think a lot of us hear thatterm meditate or how do I hear

(01:06):
from God?
A lot of people don't know howto hear from God.
Years ago, I remember thinkingto myself how do I hear from God
?
I have this idea that when youhear from God, it's like this
audible thing.
My son or my daughter, like you, would literally hear it.
That could be the case, butmore often than not, when God is

(01:27):
speaking to us, it's when ourheart is at peace, when the
noise going on in our mind is atits lowest.
And I have noticed, when I amat peace about something, when
I'm not emotionally reacting tothings, when my mind is not
overloaded with things, I canhear from God.
And when you hear from God, itcould be a very soft impression

(01:50):
on your heart.
And so when I say, spend timewith God, that habit of spending
time with God is also a time toget quiet, to reflect, to
meditate.
Just get quiet, let your mindget quiet.
I truly have learned toappreciate quiet time, and quiet
time helps me to processinformation.

(02:12):
When I have too many thingscoming at me, it creates
confusion.
And this is very consistentwith how Jesus did things.
He would go away in the morningand spend time with God.
What did Moses do in the OldTestament?
He went up into the mountain tobe with God, to see God.
He went up there by himself, right.
So that's something to thinkabout.

(02:33):
How can you get more time withGod, and some of the ways that
you can do that is start byreading some scripture in the
morning.
I think a great way to startyour day is to start with one
chapter of Proverbs.
There's 31 chapters in Proverbs, and I think that's a great way
to start.
Then you can move on to readingand studying other things, but

(02:56):
wisdom is one of the greatestthings that you can have today,
and I think we can all agreethat the wisdom that God gives
us is definitely the mostimportant, and Proverbs is
loaded with wisdom.
It's a book that literally willnever be exhausted on the
wisdom that it provides for ourlives.

(03:19):
Every time I go through it, Iget something new.
As you grow as a person, asyour perspective changes, you
read things from differentangles, and it provides new
insights for your life, which Ibelieve is why when we get older
that's why the Bible says wehave more wisdom, especially as
we age I fully believe that theperson that has gone through

(03:41):
life has a lot more wisdom thanthe person who's just getting
started.
I have a lot more wisdom todaythan when I was 20 years old.
When I was 20, I was probably alittle bit cocky, thinking that
I had it all figured out.
Well, I can assure you I didn't.
But as I'm here now, 50 yearsold, about to turn 51, I
definitely have a lot morewisdom because I've gone through
life.
So that's a great place tostart if you're looking to start

(04:07):
your daily time with God, godwill speak to us while we are
spending time with him, as we'rereading the Bible.
So another good way to spendtime with God again is to
reflect and meditate, but alsoask God questions, as you're in
that time.
If you're trying to figuresomething out, if you've got a
chance, ask God.
Hey, god, I'm struggling withthis.

(04:28):
Maybe you can show me what itis that's causing this struggle
in my life and help me toovercome it.
It could be a lack of faith, itcould be a relational issue, it
could be a money issue.
You can take it to God andbecause the scripture says that
you have not because you ask not, if you don't ask, god can't

(04:49):
give it to you.
So ask God and you might notget an answer right away.
Sometimes it can take a whileto get an answer, but I will
tell you.
Every time I ask God, I alwaysget an answer.
So I think that's definitelywhere you have to fight for that
quiet time and I'm not sayingI'm perfect at this, but I know
that it's very valuable to me.

(05:10):
It definitely makes adifference, all right.
Point number two is pray.
That's a habit every day.
For the longest time, I had theidea that prayer was like hey,
you sit down, you put your handstogether and you close your
eyes and bow your head.
That is not necessarily whatprayer is.
Prayer can be that, but prayerultimately goes right along with

(05:31):
time with God as you seekguidance from God, and that is
conversation with God.
Having a conversation back andtime with God as you seek
guidance from God, and that isconversation with God.
Having a conversation back andforth with God.
Talk with God throughout yourday.
That is one way that you canpray.
Praying is not always justsitting down, closing your eyes
and bowing your head.
It is communication, back andforth with God.

(05:52):
It is a fellowship with theFather, back and forth with God.
It is a fellowship with theFather, and so you want to start
to build that habit.
Okay, father, I'm strugglingwith this.
I need help here.
Hey, I'm looking to someguidance here.
What would you want me to do?
How do you want me to handlethis situation?
That can be prayer, but prayeralso, again, during that quiet
time, can also be sitting there, quiet, with your eyes closed

(06:16):
and speaking to God.
It's regular communication backand forth with God.
Okay, and I think one of theimportant things that I've
learned when it comes to prayeris that the scripture says
believe for what you want andyou shall be given, or something
like that.
I'm paraphrasing the verse.
One of the things to gettinganswers to prayer and this is a

(06:39):
big thing is we're looking foranswers to prayer.
The scripture tells us when weask or pray.
If we ask anything according tohis will, he hears us.
Our goal is to get our prayersin alignment with God's will.
God will answer those prayerswhen our prayers are in

(07:02):
alignment with his will.
How do we know God's will?
Spending time with God andreading the Bible If you don't
know it?
The Bible is the will of God.
The Bible is the will of God.
It is the starting point.
It is the foundation of abeliever.
It was for Jesus in his day.
He knew the Torah, the OldTestament.

(07:23):
He quotes them in the NewTestament.
So Jesus knew the Bible.
Now, of course, they didn'thave all the New Testament like
we have today, but he had theTorah.
He had the scriptures, thescrolls, he had access to those.
He knew them.
That was the will of God.
The word of God is the will ofGod, and so that's important to
realize.

(07:43):
How do I know God's will when Ipray?
If I pray and it's according toGod's will and it's in
alignment with God's will, I canexpect great things from that.
So you have to ask yourselfsometimes is what you're praying
for the will of God?
I can promise you this God'swill is that you're healthy.
God's will is that you havehealthy, not just a healthy body

(08:06):
, but also healthy relationships.
He wants you to have a healthymental state.
He wants you to have all.
Health is definitely part ofGod's plan for you in this life.
Now, does it always happen likethat?
No, this is still an imperfectlife.
We're living an imperfect world, but we serve a perfect God.
The key is to know God's willfor your life.

(08:30):
Starts with reading thescripture.
A lot of people are like God,what's your will for my life?
But they don't know any of theBible.
They just keep asking what'syour will?
Guess what?
You got a book right in frontof you.
You got an app you can readevery day.
You can listen to an audioBible.
There's so many different waysto learn the will of God through
the scriptures.
Sometimes people go to the Bibleand they're confused or it's

(08:50):
hard to understand.
Start from the beginning.
And there's a lot ofcontroversy about certain
versions of the Bible.
And don't read this version, and they've changed it.
I got news for you.
Every single translation of theBible has errors.
Okay, the translation has theerror.
The actual scripture, the realword of God, does not.
Okay, and there's a couple ofthings that you can do.

(09:14):
I like to read all differentversions of the Bible.
I'm not stuck on just one, butwhen I'm reading, I like to read
certain Bible translations andif I'm doing a deep dive study,
I tend to go back to the KingJames.
If I really want to understandthe meaning of certain words,
I'll go to the King James.
Look at some of the Greek andthe Hebrew, which it's so easy

(09:36):
to do today, guys, with softwareand things like that.
I have a software program thatI use called eSword and I love
it.
It's great.
I've been using it for years.
You can pull up all differentversions of the Bible.
It's all about crossreferencing and that's what I
love to do.
My Bible of choice for readingis the Passion Translation or

(09:56):
the Amplified version.
Those are great for reading.
They read very much like a book.
Listen to the cues that Godgives you.
If you read something and itdoesn't quite make sense, maybe
pull up an older version of theBible and do a little bit of
research on that verse itself.
That's what I like to do.
The tool I use is called eSword.

(10:18):
You can go to eSwordcom.
Just do a search on eSword.
It's free.
They have a whole bunch of freeBibles that can be downloaded
into the software.
They even have the iPhone app.
I pull it up on my phone all thetime.
This is my Bible when I go tochurch.
I don't even carry my regularBible anymore because I can pull
it up right here.
I can highlight verses, I cando all kinds of things and I

(10:47):
love it and it's all right hereand you can search out all these
different versions of the Bible.
You can see I have them alldownloaded on my phone so I can
cross-reference very easily.
These are all the differentversions that I have and I love
this app and the cool thingabout this app like this is the
passion translation right here.
But it has this window rightdown here.
Look at this, the King Jamesversion.
If I'm like, hey, what doesthis verse mean right here, I'll

(11:09):
click on it, it'll highlight itand that very verse will show
up right here.
Then you see these littlethings.
I can click on it and hope whatis that word hope?
I click the little link andlook, it pops up a definition
and all the different versesthat it's used.
And, look, I can read some ofthe definitions of what that

(11:29):
word is.
That's why I love this.
It's so easy and so quick toread and study.
That's why I love this.
It's so easy and so quick toread and study.
So if you're not, yeah, eswordlearning, but so easy to do
these days with technology whereyou can really research and
look at the Bible.
So anyway, that's a great wayto seek God's will, to know the
scriptures, and it's a lifelongjourney.

(11:51):
Once you think something in theBible, you start to realize you
don't always be open to hearingdifferent perspectives.
I be open to hearing differentperspectives.
I'm always open to differentperspectives.
I don't always agree withperspectives, because there's
certain things that I know inthe Bible that contradict what
somebody might say, but I'malways open and I'm never
critical of people that aresearching and trying, and so the

(12:12):
only people I'm critical towardare Pharisees.
If you're a Pharisee, get ready, because I'm going to be
critical of you, because I knowwhat Pharisees are.
I've dealt with them before.
I was in a cult for many years,as you guys know, and I dealt
with legalism at the highestlevels and I will never deal
with it again.
First time with God.
Second, pray and our third.

(12:32):
This is very important.
I want you to listen to me andI'm going to challenge you a
little bit here.
Some of you might find thischallenging what I'm about to
say, but the third one isfellowship with others.
I hear a lot of people say thisand I actually very much
disagree with it.
You'll hear a lot of people sayall I need is Jesus.
That's all I need, and Idisagree with that.
Jesus is not all you need.

(12:53):
Jesus is number one, noquestion about it, but he's not
all you need, because he put usin the body of Christ.
When you read the scriptures,it's very clear that, yes, god
is most important.
We put Jesus on the pedestal.
He is our guide, but we're alsoin a body and we're to have

(13:14):
fellowship with others.
Jesus didn't do it on his own.
Jesus had his 12 disciples.
We need each other and we needthe fellowship of others.
Nobody is meant to do this lifeon their own, and I'm not
referring to necessarily beingmarried.
That can be part of it.
If you're single, you've got awhole group of other believers

(13:36):
to connect with.
It's very common for people tosay I don't need to go to a
church to worship God.
That's true on its face, ofcourse, you don't have to go to
a church, but God wants you tobe around other believers
because of what it can providefor you.
So a lot of times when peoplesay, oh, I don't need to go to a
church to worship God, whatthey're saying is, a lot of

(13:57):
times, behind that is, there'ssome type of hurt.
Behind that, there's some typeof fear behind that statement.
Because here's the thing yes, dealing with people sometimes is
difficult.
I've been in many differentsituations where I haven't
always had the best experienceswith people, but that never

(14:17):
stops me from seeking fellowshipwith others.
Because I had one badexperience with one person
doesn't mean I'm going to paintall people that way.
It's very common that peoplewill do this I've seen it
literally hundreds of times andI've heard it many times where
people are hurt by going to achurch.

(14:39):
They're hurt by somethingsomebody said and they pull back
and they don't want to goforward.
We have to recognize what thatis and recognizing that
isolation is precisely what thedevil wants.
He wants you to not be aroundother people who have your best

(15:00):
interest at heart, because if hecan isolate you, then he's got
a better chance of stealing, killing and destroying.
Just the Bible says and I lovewhat Eileen says here that
church hurt is real.
It absolutely is.
I've experienced church hurt.
I was in a cult for many yearswhen my wife and I made the
decision to leave that cult.
We had so many friendsdisassociate with us.

(15:22):
People that we had known foryears disassociate with us, not
want to be around us.
This is back in 2000.
People we thought who were likefamily really weren't.
They disassociated with us.
Many of those people are nolonger with that place either,
because they left for their ownreasons.
Church hurt is very real andhere's a perspective you may
have never thought about.

(15:43):
Jesus had church hurt.
When you read the scriptures, you'll know that the real people
that crucified him were thereligious leaders.
Rome carried it out, but it wasthe church leaders, the
Pharisees and the Sadducees, which are the ones that
condemned him, and they were theones that manipulated the

(16:04):
situation in order to get himcrucified.
So Jesus had church hurt.
He had people come against himthat didn't stop him from his
mission.
So while church hurt is realand it's something many people
have dealt with we have to lookat it from the perspective of
just because there was a badrepresentation of the heart of

(16:26):
God toward you from anotherperson.
It's not God's fault, and a lotof times we can get into why
didn't God stop it?
Look man?
Those are all questions we'llget to ask God when we get to
heaven, but all I know is thatthe scripture says his ways are
higher than our ways.
We are not going to have ananswer for everything that
happens in life, and that's partof having faith.

(16:49):
It's part of having faith andthat is definitely something
that we just have to trust thatGod will take care of us, that
we just have to trust that Godwill take care of us.
Fellowship with others is a veryimportant part of this entire
equation.
It is very important to yourown growth.
It's very important for yourown spiritual well-being.
I love what Lorian says.

(17:09):
Religion of any kind, evennetwork marketing, love
conditionally and done with youwhen you leave, that's
absolutely it.
Love is unconditional.
Jesus had love.
You can love somebody and noteven agree with them.
Ask my wife, her and I don'talways agree on everything.
I still love her.
I would give my life for her.
You don't have to agree withsomeone in order to love them.

(17:31):
You can have fellowship withpeople you're diametrically
opposed to.
I learned that from my dad.
My dad was the greatest exampleof learning to love people and
looking for common ground.
He loved on people that werethe complete opposite of him.
Watching my dad do that was thegreatest example.
He had such an uncanny way ofconnecting with people that just

(17:55):
were the complete opposite ofwho he was.
That's what I loved about himand I learned that from him.
You can always see the value inthat person, regardless of the
sins they're committing.
Okay, that's one of the problemsI don't like about Christians.
They are so quick to point outthe sin.
Got to point out the sin in theother person.
Everybody's got it guys, wedon't need to point it out in

(18:16):
everybody.
Okay, many times sin is its ownreward and I think we have a
very warped idea of what sin isin the Christian world.
My opinion, sin is bad.
I just want to make that clear.
But the truth is, I think wehave a very warped idea of what
it is.
Simply, that is the symptom ofa cause.

(18:36):
Many people are pointing at thesymptom, blaming the symptom,
when the real cause is a heartissue.
You can't fix sin withoutfixing the heart.
This is where religion comes in.
This is where legalism comes in, because religion is always
trying to fix the symptom andnot the cause, and the cause is
almost always a heart issue.

(18:56):
So when we point out constantlythe sin, we're not loving on
people.
Part of what we have to do whenwe love on people and this is
where I'm getting withfellowship with others is it's
so important for us to be ableto love the unlovable.
Jesus loved the unlovable.
He loved on the tax collector.

(19:18):
He loved on the woman caught inadultery.
That was love that he showed toher.
If you go and you read and lookat so many different aspects of
how Jesus reacted toward people, he had compassion.
When Jesus was feeding the5,000, it said he had compassion
on them as he knew that theywere like sheep with no shepherd
.
Maybe I'm getting things mixedup, but he had compassion on

(19:40):
them.
And you have to look at peoplein life.
Is there's people out therethat are sheep with no shepherd?
Have compassion on them?
There's so many things going onin our culture right now that I
just they're not good, but you, when you look at people, have
compassion on them becausethey're stuck in something in
life that is not good for them.
Love them.
You love people out of things, the things that I have overcome

(20:03):
in my life.
It's because I was loved out ofit, not because somebody
pointed their finger at me.
It's because I was loved out ofit.
Religion wants a quick fix Don'tdo this, don't do that but it
does nothing to address the realissue, which is the, and that
is what I've learned over theyears.
I used to be one of thosefinger pointers.
I used to be one of thosepeople that was overly religious

(20:25):
, pointing the finger ateverybody, telling everybody
what they're doing wrong, but Idon't do that anymore.
If people give me the open doorand they're willing to receive
and they want my advice, I willdo it, but in a very loving way.
They're really talking aboutfellowship with others, because
those are some of the thingsthat hold us back sometimes from
fellowshipping with others.
I hope that helped you today.
I hope it inspires you a littlebit, because these simple

(20:48):
things when we're building abusiness as entrepreneurs, can
have a major effect on what youare doing and how you connect
with others.
Connecting with others is avital part of business.
We have that in the KeystoneFramework and the Fearless
Influencer Academy.
That's all about connectingwith people.
But if you carry a lot of thiswith you that I was just talking

(21:09):
about, you're going to have ahard time connecting with people
.
So how does this all apply tobeing an entrepreneur?
Time with God.
If you want to build a business, you got to spend some time in
training and application.
Equate that to time with God.
If you want to have a spiritualrelationship, time with God is
crucial.
But if you want to build abusiness, you got to spend some
time in training.

(21:30):
You got to spend some time inapplication of what you're
learning, things like that.
You see the parallels herePraying, spending time, planning
, thinking through parallel withbusiness and then connection
with others, fellowshipping withothers.
You are not going to build asuccessful business without
learning to have some capabilityof networking.
It's crucial, it's vital.

(21:51):
So I hope you guys enjoyed thattoday.
I agree, lorraine, he who lovesthe most wins.
Remember that song they used tosing.
I don't know, I haven't heardit in a while.
But they will know we areChristians by our love.
Not by finger pointing, not bypointing out every single flaw
that people have, but just loveon people where they're at.
If you just love on people, godcan give you the open doors to

(22:13):
help people with the thingsthey're struggling with.
They will know we areChristians by our love.
