Dr. Layton and his wife generously took in a young boy named Harry. Tragically, Harry's oversight led to a disaster: Brindle, the family's prized cow, overate and is now gravely ill, expected to die. Devastated by the outcome, Harry is heartbroken and has sworn to remain by Brindle's side, holding onto the hope that she will recover.
