What does rap music videos Mystikal’s “Shake it Fast”,  Nelly’s “Tip Drill” and Ludacris’ “What’s Your Fantasy” have in common? The video vixens and celebrity cameos that were casted in these videos were chosen by retired dancer and former casting director Carolyn Brown.  Carolyn Brown started off in the entertainment scene as a Hip-hop and R&B dancer. As part of the 90’s dancing group “Mecca”, Carolyn danced with some of the hottest artists such as Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, Keith Sweat, Mary J. Blige and more. Once she retired from dancing, she became a casting director and cast many video vixens and celebrity cameos. Currently she’s a real estate agent based out of Atlanta.  90s Hip-Hop and R&B dancer Carolyn Brown from the legendary dancing group “Mecca” stops by “The Focal Spot” to talk about her sister-in-law, the late Whitney Houston, how she transitioned from being R&B singer’s Bobby Brown fan to being one of his dancers to being his sister-in-law. She also talks about “And I Danced” documentary produced by Christopher “Play” Martin and the importance of having a Hip-Hop and R&B dancer documentary, casting the uncut music video for rapper Nelly’s “Tip Drill” and the controversy that video caused and much more.  Carolyn Brown’s social media IG: @carolynbrown7  FB: Carolyn Octavia Brown

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
