Have you ever wondered how to access truth in a world full of competing voices? The answer might be closer than you think.

The Spirit of Truth episode dives deep into a revolutionary concept from Scripture—God no longer dwells in temples made by human hands but lives within believers through the Holy Spirit. This profound shift changes everything about how we approach life, decision-making, and our relationship with God.

Drawing from John 16:13, B-Rob explores Jesus' promise that the Spirit will "guide you into all truth." We're introduced to Stephen Foster's compelling perspective on truth in our so-called "post-truth age," including a memorable encounter with a student who claimed truth doesn't exist (only to contradict himself moments later). This segment powerfully illustrates how even attempts to undermine truth ultimately rely on truth itself.

The episode offers practical wisdom for incorporating awareness of the Holy Spirit into daily life. From praying before reading Scripture to recognizing that "no prayer is too small for God," listeners receive actionable steps for deepening their spiritual connection. The recurring theme of "pray continually" (1 Thessalonians 5:17) serves as both challenge and comfort—a reminder that divine guidance is always available, regardless of circumstances.

Whether you're facing difficult decisions, seeking to understand Scripture more deeply, or simply wanting to experience God's presence more consistently, this episode provides food for thought on how the Spirit of Truth can transform your perspective. Take a moment to consider: What might change if you approached each day fully aware that God's Spirit is with you, guiding you into all truth?

Hey guys, this little Jay, this B-Rob little nephew,
I just want to let y'all know hecoming in just a second.
Y'all got it's good, huh?
Let me get an amen.
Come on now.
Anyway, I just come out here tointroduce your host.

(00:23):
Y'all give it up for B-Rob.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Hey guys, it's B-Rob Y'all welcome to the Food for
Thought Faithcast today.
Today we're going to talk alittle bit about the spirit of
truth.
Today we're going to talk alittle bit about the spirit of
truth because, if you look atthe Old Testament, there are
major promises in the OldTestament that one day the

(00:57):
spirit of God would dwell withinthe people of God, instead of
interacting with God in thepresence of God within a temple,
like they did back in the oldendays.
The scripture fulfills this asthe New Testament.
Jesus promised to send his HolySpirit to guide and comfort
God's people.

(01:17):
This has huge implications.
It means that Christians haveaccess to the presence of God by
the Holy Spirit which dwellswithin us.
God's spirit is wherever we go.
We don't have to go into atemple to talk to God.
Jesus mentions in John 16, 13,that the spirit of God will

(01:39):
guide us into all truth.
God desires to be part of ourdaily journey through life,
helping us and guiding ustowards what is right.
Guys, when we have questionsabout what direction in life to

(02:00):
take, the Holy Spirit is thereto help us.
When we're not sure what isright and wrong, the Holy Spirit
is there to help us decide thatJesus says the Holy Spirit will
speak to us in accordance withthe Father and the Son.
The Holy Spirit will alsoreinforce and help us to
understand what we read inScripture, so pray.
That goes back to prayingbefore you read the Scripture

(02:23):
and asking for the spirit tocome.
But I want to play this clipfor you real quick.
This is Stephen Foster.
This insert came from the Bibleapp, so I'm going to play it
for you real quick.
Hope you guys enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
So I'm going to play it for you real quick.
Hope you guys enjoy it.
But when the spirit of truthcomes, he will guide you into
all the truth.
It's sometimes said that welive in a post-truth age.
There are so many competingclaims to truth that we can lose
confidence about there beingsuch a thing as truth at all.
Blaise Pascal said the truth isso obscure in these times, and

(03:05):
falsehood so established, thatunless we love the truth, we
cannot know it.
I was speaking at an event, anda student came up to me
afterwards.
He said thanks for your talk.
I said thank you.
He said you do realise, though, that there's no such thing as
truth, and I said oh, but iswhat you just said true?
And he paused and he said yeah.

(03:27):
And then he thought about it abit more and he said oh, wait a
minute.
You see, we can't even underminethe idea of truth without
relying on truth, and Jesus saidthat the spirit of the Holy
Spirit is the spirit of truth, and he comes to lead you into
all truth.
He wants you to become a personof truth, of integrity, in your

(03:49):
workplace and in your community.
He wants you to declare thetruth, to discern the truth and
to discover the truth, and hewants you to find God's truth in
God's word.
The Holy Spirit wants to revealthe truth of God's word to you.
You never read scripture alone, and I just want to encourage

(04:09):
you today and every day beforeyou start reading the Bible, to
pray and ask the spirit of truthto guide you, to lead you into
all the truth.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
That was Stephen Foster.
Y'all give him a round ofapplause now.
Y'all give him a round ofapplause now.
You can check him out on theBible app and I'm sure he said
he spoke at different places.
I'm not I haven't done abiography on him or anything

(04:45):
like that, but I like the clip,so I played it for you.
And just be mindful throughoutthe week.
Make an effort to be mindful ofthe Holy Spirit's presence in
your life.
Remind yourself that God iswith you every day.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guideyou, to light your path, and
spend time praying to becomforted and strengthened by
God.
Just like he said, when youshare your faith or read

(05:11):
scripture, you're never alone.
The holy spirit will lead you, empower you and guide you into
the truth.
It's an amazing thing, guys.
It is an amazing thing.
Here's that verse again johnJohn 16, verse 13.
But when he, the spirit oftruth, comes, he will guide you

(05:33):
into all the truth.
He will not speak on his own.
He will speak only what hehears and he will tell you what
is yet to come.
Words of the king of kingshimself.
Guys, I mean, it doesn't get anybetter than that.
You know, quick prayer, quickprayer.

(05:53):
Dear Heavenly Father, we cometo you today.
Lord, just fill us with theHoly Spirit.
Lord, fill the Faithcast withthe Holy Spirit, the listeners
with the Holy Spirit.
Lord, and guide me and help mesee truth, lord, so I can share
it.
Lord, lord, help me overcome myfalse evidence appearing real,

(06:17):
my fear, and forgive me when Idon't take your wisdom.
Please, lord, forgive me.
Forgive me for my sins, forgiveme for my shortcomings.
You are so good, you are sogreat.
God, guide me into freedom.

(06:38):
I love you, lord.
It's in Jesus name we pray.
All right, guys.
Another good one here is Psalms, chapter 40, verse 17.
There's that number again, 17.
But as for me, I am poor andneedy.

(07:00):
May the Lord think of me.
You are my help and mydeliverer.
You are my God.
Please do not delay.
That's good stuff, man.
That's good stuff, man.
That's good Good prayers,absolutely.
Just know that there is noprayer too small for God.

(07:24):
You have to trust in your heartand believe in your heart that
he loves you and cares for you.
I mean, this is how God showedhis love.
He sent his only son into theworld that we may live through

(07:47):
him.
That is love.
Love, that is God loving us.
He sent his own son as atoningsacrifice for yours and my sins.
Food for thought, I mean.

(08:12):
Think about it.
Why is it important to seeprayer as your first response
when something happens?
Something to think about.
Another question would be isanything preventing you from
diving into prayer consistentlyall the time?
I mean, you know God wants youto.

(08:35):
You just have to change yourattitude.
Pray about it.
Remind yourself to pray whenyou wonder if it's a good time
to pray, that means you need topray.
It don't matter if you'redriving using the bathroom, it

(08:58):
don't matter, it does not matterat all.
Every day, every situation.
1 Thessalonians 5.17.
There's that number again 17.
1 Thessalonians 5, 17 says twowords Pray continually.

(09:26):
Those seem like pretty clearinstructions.
Right, pray continually.
I think God's making a commandthere.
You going to listen?
Food for thought, thank you.
