Worry has a way of stealing our today while trying to control our tomorrow. In this soul-nourishing episode, we explore Jesus's profound wisdom from Matthew 6:34 - "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

The simple truth is that worry attempts to control what lies beyond our reach. If we could control these circumstances, would we worry about them? Our natural response to uncertainty is anxiety, but Jesus offers a radical alternative - trust in God's provision. Just as God takes care of birds, flowers, and the rest of creation, how much more does He care for us, His chosen children? This isn't dismissing our legitimate concerns but rather elevating our understanding of God's intimate involvement in our lives.

What would happen if we shifted our perspective from worrying about tomorrow to focusing on what God has placed before us today? Who can we serve? Who needs encouragement? How might we transform our worries into worship? The scripture reminds us, "You did not choose me, but I chose you" (John 15:16). This divine choosing carries a profound promise - the God who selected you for relationship and purpose will certainly provide everything necessary for you to fulfill that calling.

The spiritual practice of releasing worry doesn't happen instantly. It requires consciously redirecting our attention from future fears to present grace. Like spiritual manna in the wilderness, God provides enough for today - not tomorrow's portion, just today's. And remarkably, as our trust in God grows, our worries diminish.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Today's verse of the day is Matthew, chapter 6, verse
34, where Jesus says therefore,do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry aboutitself.
Each day has enough trouble ofits own.
Ordinarily, being told not toworry about something doesn't
really help us.
But as with everything, jesusis different thing.

(00:30):
Jesus is different when he saysto us, his disciples, do not
worry.
His words carry a promise ofhis presence and that means
don't live in fear and worry, for I am with you.
A consistent theme of Jesus'steaching is that his presence
drives out fear.
Walking with him means notwalking in worry, so don't worry
.
And then the verse goes ondon't worry about tomorrow,

(00:53):
about tomorrow is key.
Don't waste precious time andenergy worrying about things you
have no control over and, bycontrast, be present today
because today has enoughconcerns.
Jesus gives us enough for today.
Live in his grace for today.

(01:14):
Then Jesus says don't worryabout tomorrow.
Each day has enough trouble.
Jesus doesn't minimize ourfeelings.
Our concerns are real.
What we feel matters to him.
But, like the children ofIsrael needing manna for the day
in the wilderness, there'senough provision for you and me

(01:34):
for today, enough manna fortoday.
So receive the peace andpromise of Jesus, that you and I
can live free of worry todayand don't worry.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Hey guys, it's B-Rob, it's the Food for Thought
Faithcast, and it is Monday.
Excuse me, I'm sorry, it isSunday, july the 6th.
How could I forget it's worshipday?
But we should be worshipingevery day.
I know I do.
But today's title is going tobe Don't Worry About Tomorrow.

(02:10):
That was a clip you heard fromthe Bible app.
And basically, don't worryabout tomorrow.
One of the easiest things to dois to worry.
I mean we worry about a lot ofthings.
Is the worry?
I mean we worry about a lot ofthings.
We're worried about ourrelationships, our finances, our
needs, our basic needs, ourmost, our natural response to

(02:35):
just worry in a lot ofsituations.
But did you know, when we worry, we are trying to take control

(03:00):
of something that we have nocontrol over.
If we can control it, then wewouldn't be worried about it,
right?
But Jesus says something veryimportant that we shouldn't
spend our time worrying aboutbasic things, because God knows
what we need and will providethose things for us.
Matthew 6, 25 through 26,.

(03:22):
God takes care of the birds, the flowers and the rest of
creation, but Jesus says thatour lives matter more to God
than all of those things.
If God takes care of his othercreations, then we can trust
that he will take care of us.
Correct.
Worrying about the future cannotmake it better.

(03:44):
It just makes today worse.
The fear of the unknown cansometimes paralyze us in the
present.
But instead of worrying aboutthe future, jesus tells us to
trust God.
God is the only one that cancontrol what is to come, since
he is all-knowing andall-powerful.
He is the only one who has thepower over the future.

(04:07):
You don't.
So instead of anxiouslyruminating on what happens, ifs,
or what is to come, we have totrust God with all we have.
We should make the most of eachday that we have and let
tomorrow take care of itself.

(04:29):
Like Jesus said, each day hasenough trouble of its own, and
tomorrow is unknown, so don'tfixate on what might happen.
If you struggle with worry, just ask God to give you peace.
Begin to shift your perspectivefrom worrying about tomorrow
toward focusing on what God hasin front of you today.

(04:50):
Your trust in God grows as yourworries lessen.
So remind yourself on how muchGod cares for you.
He will never give up on you.
He will continue to take careof you and direct your paths.
That's an amazing thing, guys.
That's an amazing thing Shiftyour perspective from worrying

(05:13):
about tomorrow to focusing onwhat God's doing in front of you
today.
Don't forget who can you servetoday?
Who can you encourage today?
How can you insist on turningyour worries into worship?
Turning them, worries, intoworship Sounds like a song.

(05:36):
It might be, I guess.
Turning your worries intoworship.
Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow may not come.
The Holy Book in Matthew, chapter 6, verse 34, says
Therefore, do not worry abouttomorrow, for tomorrow will

(05:58):
worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble ofits own.
Right there in the scripture, right there in the scripture.
You know what I'm saying, Guys, just sit back, take a deep
breath, exhale, release whateverthoughts you might have,

(06:25):
release them.
That takes your attention awayfrom God, and just visualize
letting that go.
Guys, john, chapter 15, verse16, says you did not choose me,
but I chose you and I appointedyou so that you might go and

(06:47):
bear fruit, fruit that will last, and so whatever you ask, in
the name of the father, he willgive it to you.
God chose you.
Allow God to encourage you asyou talk to him in prayer.
Guys, this stuff is so good,it's so good, so motivating,

(07:13):
because you have today and rightnow.
And speaking of that, psalmsPsalms 100, verses 1 through 3.
It is he who made us and we arehis.
We are his people, the sheep ofhis pastor man.

(07:48):
That's so good, guys.
So good, so good.
No prayer is too small for God.
You just have to trust that heloves you and that he cares for
you.
Guys, this is going to be ashort one today.
