Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey everyone, jack Johnson here, happy Monday,
happy Veterans Day.
Thank you to all of you whoserved.
We gosh, we wouldn't be herewithout you.
Thank you so much, and for allof you today, for Monday,
november 11th, I have got awhale of a franchise that I want
to talk to you about today.
And, by the way, for all of youasking yes, jill absolutely is

(00:24):
still.
She's still on inside scoopduty.
We can only get Jill once aweek.
Listen, she's a busy gal abouttown, so she does inside scoop
and she does.
We Bought a Franchise once aweek.
That's hey, listen, that's howoften I can get her in the
studio.
So for the rest of the week, you've got me.
And so what I want to talk toyou about today is a franchise

(00:46):
called Floor CoveringsInternational.
Now, this is an insiderfranchise, you guys.
This is a franchise that, whenI look at all the data I have
through other franchise brokernetworks, this is always one
that seems to be awarded prettyconsistently over the years.

(01:06):
And so when I say that, whatdoes that mean?
Well, this is a company thatwas founded in 1988 and started
franchising in 1988.
They have how many locations dothese guys have?
They've got a lot of locationsout there.
The question is, what is theexact number here?
They have 260 locations, butthey have room for a lot more

(01:31):
and they want to expand in Ohio, florida, california, new York,
nebraska, iowa, colorado,washington, oregon, texas
They've got Dallas open Houston, okay, you get it.
There's good markets San Diego, los Angeles, miami.
So what the heck is FloorCoverings International?
Why are we talking about it?
Well, you guys know I loveboring businesses and that's not

(01:54):
meant to be a slight at FloorCoverings International, because
they're the number one flooringfranchise in North America.
They have been doing it since1988.
So I think again what is itthat makes this a good business?
Well, the flooring industry isa $100 billion market in North

(02:15):
America.
The industry is highlyfragmented, with over 50
companies making up the top 10%,and so, due to the
fragmentation and the poor bigbox buying experience, market
shares easily obtained, purchasing flooring is highly
inconvenient.
So Floor Covering Internationalis an alternative to the big
boxes.
They make purchasing flooringin your home easy, so they come

(02:35):
to you.
Floor Coverings Internationalhas a unique business model that
brings the showroom directly tothe customer's home and that
appeals to customers' busylifestyles.
I agree with that.
I mean, listen, when I workfrom home, I like people to come
to me and we've gotten used tothat over the past few years.
So the customers meet with adesign representative in their
home and it's convenient, easierfor them to envision their

(02:58):
flooring and they're able toexperience the extensive array
of design options in their homeenvironment.
So the demand for flooring inthe US residential construction
sector is expected to grow dueto increasing single-family
constructions and renovationactivities.
I mean, this is what they'resaying, but we know the scoop,
guys.
You've got a lot of people whatis it?

(03:19):
The median homebuyer now is intheir 50s.
The average homebu buyer is 38.
But you have a lot of peoplesitting there with a ton of
equity in their house that areimproving their houses and these
floors.
It's like we got and we hadlike white floors put in our
house a few years ago and now itfeels like we're out of style.
We've got to do a whole newfloor.
So it's one of those thingsthat it makes a lot of sense.

(03:42):
And again, when I look at thefranchise market, floor
Coverings International is a whythey want people to uh, invest
in two territories, twoterritory minimum, um, and that
likely is because they wanttheir owners building bigger

(04:04):
businesses, bigger, biggerterritories.
So that's why that franchisefee is is higher than your, your
average.
Um, we can save you two to$10,000 through our cashback
rebate program and if you wantto know how much that exact
rebate is, all you have to do istext me at 305-710-0050.
So, even with the highfranchise fee, they're saying

(04:26):
total investment is $210,000 to$300,000.
You guys know, if you listen tomy podcast enough, you know I'm
going to say go for the highernumber, always, always, always,
go for the higher number, thehigher number, always, always,
always, go for the higher number, and don't be surprised if you
got to put a little bit extra inover the course of your first
12 to 18 months going tobusiness.
That's business ownership folksbeing prepared to invest more,
being prepared that in month sixyou might want to go home and

(04:48):
quit.
It's the franchise owners thathave the mindset.
When I work with you, when youwork with me as a franchise
consultant, we are going to talkas much about franchisee
mindset, being prepared to getthrough that first year, because
that's the thing most peoplearen't ready for and that's what
I'm going to help prepare youfor and it's why you need to
listen to our other podcastcalled we Bought a Franchise,

(05:11):
because you're going to hearJill and I going through it.
We'll tell you the good, badand ugly.
We'll tell you about how we hada record month and then a
couple of days later we realizedthat we hadn't been charged for
our second ban and then I'vegot to make two payments cut
into that great profit.
That's life and that's businessownership.
So that's what I do as afranchise consultant.
Text me at 305-710-0050.

(05:40):
Visit thefranchiseinsiderscomand let's set a time to have a
discussion, because I'm tellingyou these franchises, like Floor
Coverings International, theseare good businesses.
They are one of the best homeimprovement brands for many
reasons.
They've been rated the numberone flooring company in North
America For real the highest NPSscore they say 83 in the whole
hundred billion flooringindustry and they use their

(06:01):
mobile showroom to create a shopat home experience where their
competition is made up of boringretailers.
They've got 400 territoriesopen still and their franchise
owners this is super important.
Their franchise owners validateextremely well.
What is validation?
That is where, once you'reexploring a franchise, you
actually speak to franchiseowners and you get to ask them

(06:23):
questions.
Now this is another thing wecover too when I work with you
as a franchise consultant iswhat are we hearing?
Are we talking to a franchiseowner who stands down in the
dumps, who doesn't sound veryconfident or excited, and they
say, well, business isn't goingso well?
And then you go look up theirlocation and they have two
Google reviews.
Then you go and you talk to meand I just set a franchisee

(06:44):
record for my franchise that Iown and you see that we've
already got like 30, 40 Googlereviews and we've only been open
, you know, less than a year.
So that's what we look for, right?
These are little hacks that Ican teach you as you search for
your franchise.
So if you're exploring floorcovering international and
you're talking to a franchisee, before you have that phone call,
let's go look at the Googlereviews and we want to see a lot

(07:06):
.
We want to see someone that'sout there who really is building
that.
Because what does it mean to bea successful franchise owner?
It means drive sales, be urgentto drive sales.
It means lead the team.
Last but not least, delivergreat customer service, make
sure your clients are happy.
So Floor CoveringsInternational this is one that
you guys definitely want to lookat if you're thinking about

(07:28):
owning a franchise.
The item 19 is great.
I'm not going to tell you whatit is, but if you text me at
305-710-0050, I'll get youconnected to them and they can
tell you.
Average number of employees fora Floor Coverings International
franchise is two to start, andit grows by every yet another
employee.
Per certain revenue marks theycharge a 5% royalty and they are

(07:53):
SBA approved.
Rates did come down last weekas we discussed on the last
podcast, so Floor CoveringsInternational is one that you
want to learn about.
I can save you $2,000 to$10,000 on this great home
services flooring business thatsmart people are buying.
