Lauren and I love to talk about how we've been friends forever, but we just realized how much help our friendship had along the way. In the early days of our relationship, Lauren's mom, Ms. Edna, taught us how to be friends with one another, and she showed us what healthy adult friendships look like and sound like. Ms. Edna was both a friendship mentor and model, and our friendship is strong today because of the lessons she taught us as kids: reciprocity, keeping in touch, playfulness, prioritizing our friends, and so much more.
