Mark Trobough (00:32):
Hey, welcome
everybody to episode 118 of the
Game Jojo podcast.
Mark, there's Brandon, ofcourse.
How's it going?
So my camera freeze there for asecond.
It's like, oh, this is evenbetter.
There's Brandon, of course, soI can't freeze there for a
second like, oh, this is evenbetter.
Yeah, I got a lot of good stuffto talk about today.
(00:52):
I got some more.
What's it?
Some Nvidia news, someSpider-Man 2 stuff.
Forza coming to PS5 shockingly, not shocking.
Dragon Age Veil Guard, ealaying a bunch of staff off.
Forza coming to PS5, shockingly, not shocking.
Dragon Age Veil Guard, ealaying a bunch of staff off.
What happens when you make atrash game?
Just injecting my opinion there?
Obviously a whole bunch ofother stuff to talk about on a
(01:15):
slightly early and slightlyshortened episode this week.
You ready to get right into it,brandon?
Yeah, let's get right into it.
Brandon Hurles (01:27):
Just shout out
real quick we've got RetroStars.
Alliance came in here.
Zaddos, lugia, mewtwo werealready waiting for us to go
live, so we appreciate it always, always, yeah, but I guess,
well, that does not want to loadat all.
Mark Trobough (01:42):
Uh oh, we already
got technical difficulties that
does not want to load at all.
Brandon Hurles (01:45):
Oh, we already
got technical difficulties.
Mark Trobough (01:47):
That's not my
issues, uh, but apparently the
Tinder is uh reviving a gamethat's been dormant forever.
Unfortunately, whatever you, whatever, I can't read what it
actually it is.
It's not pulling up for me.
I just see that.
Brandon Hurles (02:06):
What is it
you're trying to read?
What have you got in there atthe top?
Oh, Ridge Racer comes in.
Nso Online.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
So a Nintendo 64 game
.
Brandon Hurles (02:12):
That is a
Nintendo published game.
So that's pretty cool to see.
Yeah, really, really cool stuff.
We just get like these randomdrops of these games, but I'm
here for it yeah, I mean it's, Imean the more the merrier,
pretty much.
Mark Trobough (02:31):
It's one of those
games that I remember hearing
about, but I don't think I everreally played.
The only the only racing game Ihad with 64 was a was like
nascar 99 what was that I?
Think the only game that I hadon the 64 that was racing was
NASCAR 99.
Brandon Hurles (02:47):
NASCAR 99?
Yeah.
I had that too.
We used to just wreck the carsPretty much, that's all we did.
I'm just going to turn aroundand drive the other way.
No, this game is very fun.
It's cool to see getting a new64 game and then it's just cool
to see these random drops ofthese games, Like just last week
(03:12):
we talked about what four new?
Super Nintendo games that cameonline.
So yeah, I mean it's cool tosee another game and it's pretty
fun to play, Play it again lastnight, revisit it, and just as
fun as I remember.
Mark Trobough (03:23):
Actually, I did
want to make a quick little
caveat.
We did have another racing game, or I guess, technically two,
because we talked about theHydro Thunder like a week or two
ago, rush 2049.
Brandon Hurles (03:36):
Oh, that's on
there.
Mark Trobough (03:37):
Yeah, it's on the
64.
It's more like an arcade style.
Brandon Hurles (03:40):
Yeah, I remember
that game.
That's cool.
Mark Trobough (03:45):
Because it had a
racing game.
The more miles you drove, themore upgrades you launch, for
your cars as well.
There's like a, an arcade game, where you just do tricks for
like 20 minutes and you know, try to get little, certain coins
yeah, cool, difficult, but youknow dozens to hundreds of hours
worth of fun for sure yeah, definitely cool to see, I
(04:05):
remember.
Brandon Hurles (04:05):
But dozens to
hundreds of hours worth of fun
For sure, for sure, yeahdefinitely cool to see.
Mark Trobough (04:09):
Remember it's my
way or the highway.
There's no in between.
Yeah, exactly Whatever mybusiness goes.
Apparently, the Bloodborne 60FPS patch got a takedown notice
from.
Brandon Hurles (04:28):
Sonyy, which is
always unfortunate to see.
Yeah, I was just watching asmangold's video um about that and
he he went over the whole thingbecause bloodborne ran.
I don't have you playedbloodborne on ps4 I have not no
oh, you're frozen.
Okay, there you go it's beendoing that all along.
Anyway, the game ran like crap.
It ran at 30 frames and woulddrop when fight sequences
(04:52):
happened and it was just like areally good game but like had a
lot of problems.
Like it ran 30 frames persecond normally, but then in
fight sequences would drop below30.
So like a fan took it uponhimself to try to fix that and
Sony takes it down 30 frames persecond normally, but then in
(05:12):
fight sequences would drop below30.
So a fan took it upon himselfto try to fix that and Sony
takes it down.
So it's like what's going onhere?
You couldn't fix it yourself,or is this a sign that, oh,
you're working on that?
Mark Trobough (05:24):
and that's coming
soon type of thing.
Maybe after the fact becausethey've been embarrassed, but I
highly doubt they're even gonna.
They're gonna put spend time onthis game it's a sony published
game.
Brandon Hurles (05:30):
You would think
by now that they would have
already have fixed that.
Where we could, at least I meanin 2020, 2025 we should at
least have 60 frames.
Mark Trobough (05:40):
Come on, you know
what minimum they're not gonna
fix bugs when they minimum.
When they remastered orre-released the original
Borderlands 1, like the ultimateremaster or whatever they did,
it still had game-breaking bugsof a memory leak that never got
fixed.
Brandon Hurles (05:55):
Hey, I wanted to
ask you a question, speaking of
Borderlands.
What is the difference betweenthe Handsome Collection and the
other collection?
I just saw it today for sale.
Mark Trobough (06:05):
Some collection
is just borderlands 2 in the
pre-sequel, the two games thathave handsome jack in them.
The other one, I'm pretty surethe the ultimate or whatever it
probably has every singleborderlands game in it let me
look up what's what I, what Iremember, because I think it was
called something like chestyeah, I think so I'm pretty sure
it's box, that's.
(06:26):
Yeah, it's like every singleborderlands game, what they
should have done a while ago, because the handsome collection
was just two in the pre-sequelthat was before they brought
borderlands one to to the ps4and stuff like that okay, all
right, that makes more sense.
Brandon Hurles (06:40):
Totally off
topic, but I was just wondering
uh, you say it's off topic.
Mark Trobough (06:44):
Topic, nothing's
off topic.
But I was just wondering.
You say it's off topic, nothing's off topic, maybe a few
things, but you know what Imean here and there.
Brandon Hurles (06:52):
Hey, what's up?
Evil Tiggs Saying hello fromAustralia.
How's it going?
Mark Trobough (06:58):
You know,
australia doesn't exist.
It's just a made-up land.
Brandon Hurles (07:02):
My brother lived
there for a few years, so I
don't know where he was staying.
Yeah right, appreciate youstopping by, it's just a made-up
land.
Mark Trobough (07:06):
My brother lived
there for a few years, so I
don't know where he was staying.
Yeah right, I appreciate youstopping by.
Yeah, I think I'm just going tohave to deal with this yeah.
Brandon Hurles (07:19):
Trade one video
problem for another.
Mark Trobough (07:21):
That lag going
hard on Mark tonight.
That lag is freezingperiodically.
It freezes.
Everybody streams a crappywebsite.
Apparently it just doesn't likeme.
Brandon Hurles (07:29):
Yeah, apparently
.
Mark Trobough (07:35):
I don't know why
you're putting me full screen.
Brandon, you're talking.
I mean, if you say so, weweren't.
Brandon Hurles (07:45):
You were talking
.
Mark Trobough (07:48):
Okay, we've been
talking before and I never did
that.
You changed something behindthe scenes.
Alright who do we got next, some more leaks I appreciate
that, brandon.
More leaks about the Switch 2,about the size of it, the size
(08:09):
of the box, all that fun stuff.
Brandon Hurles (08:13):
Yeah, so I don't
know exactly what I mean.
My assumption was that thecases were going to probably be
pretty similar, but it sayscases may be 5.1 by 7.7 inches,
slightly bigger than the currentSwitch game cases that's what
(08:33):
I'd expect from probably aslightly larger console yeah,
but I don't think the cardsthemselves are going to be
larger because it's got to fitthe Switch 1 cartridges no, I
assume the Are we talking theactual case for games, the case
for the actual hardware, theSwitch 2 itself?
No, like the case that the gamegoes in.
Mark Trobough (08:57):
I mean, the case
is small as is.
It probably doesn't need to beany bigger.
But who knows?
Yeah, unless they just want alarge case, they want it to be
able to distinguish from switchto switch to.
It could be a real thing.
So a slightly different sizecase makes a lot of sense in
that case, especially if theydon't want to like redo the
whole.
You know color scheme they'vegot going on well, there's an
(09:17):
actual example.
Brandon Hurles (09:18):
I'll see if I
can actually pull it up real
quick.
Mark Trobough (09:21):
Um that that's
what I, that's what I would
assume, is what they're going totry to do just to to try to
avoid confusion for buying, likea switch one, or a switch to
game for a switch one, whereit's obviously not going to work
yeah, so right there showingwhat the size difference would
be, which is actually biggerthan I would have thought.
Brandon Hurles (09:43):
But this
apparently comes from a
Brazilian journalist, FelipeLima.
Take-two Interactive may haveleaked the Switch 2's physical
game case sizes on the Frenchretailer side.
So yeah, that kind of showsthere what the size difference
would be, which is actuallyquite a bit bigger than I would
have thought.
Realistically, I wouldn't havethought it had been changed at
(10:05):
all other than the colorscheming so you could tell the
difference.
It wouldn't be red on the sideanymore, It'd probably be black
or something like that, becauseit's obviously got to be
identifiable that it's a Switch2 game.
But that does show that it'squite a bit bigger, if that's
the case.
Mark Trobough (10:26):
That's just the
inflation.
Right there it's bigger, withnothing else to show yeah,
exactly whatever you say but Imean at this point, we're just
waiting for April 2nd.
So it's what?
We're almost a full two monthsout at this point?
Yep, two months out at thispoint, yep, two months out.
Probably a full two months atthis point because February is a
(10:50):
shortened month, so it's likewhat?
28 days?
Brandon Hurles (10:53):
Yeah, 28 days,
Evil Ticks said.
I find it hilarious that peoplestill think a game running at
30 FPS and below 60 FPS isacceptable.
Peasants talk.
So is the Switch 2 work witholder Switch games.
The French version comes with aside of garlic bread as well.
Mark Trobough (11:12):
I assume it's
going to come with the
complimentary baguette.
Brandon Hurles (11:14):
I will buy every
Switch 2 game that comes with a
side of garlic bread.
That's funny.
It is backwards compatible withSwitch 1 games.
I don't even know if it wasbefore you're alive or or what,
but I was no, we're just talkingabout bloodborne.
I mean 30 fps for a game likethat totally unacceptable.
(11:37):
I mean 2025, 60 should be thestandard period.
Mark Trobough (11:42):
I think that's a
minimum it could be minimal 120,
but that's just me, I meanrealistically I think it should
be higher, but 30 in 2025 isridiculous.
Brandon Hurles (11:54):
And you can tell
the game ran at 30.
It was sluggish.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
And then when you got
fight scenes- you were dropping
in the 20s.
Brandon Hurles (12:02):
It was
ridiculous that game.
It was a good game, other thanall that crap.
Mark Trobough (12:10):
Essentially,
anything below 30 is just
unplayable.
Brandon Hurles (12:15):
Yeah we're going
to be talking about that.
Trust me, I'm upset too, very, very, very upset.
Mark Trobough (12:23):
What's up, mr
Coffee, welcome in, appreciate,
appreciate you coming in I don'tknow why you want to spend two
thousand dollars on a, on a gpuhey, I sold off a bunch of stuff
and I've been saving up for itfor months, so I'll wait till
the 70 series.
It'll be by the time I'm tryingto upgrade yeah5,000 on a 7090.
(12:44):
That's where I'm saving mymoney for Early adopter right
here.
Brandon Hurles (12:49):
You have no idea
how much stuff I sold off to
fund that.
I'm really not.
I mean to be fair.
Mark Trobough (12:52):
I went from a
1060 Ti to a 4070.
So that shows how long I waitedbetween upgrades.
Brandon Hurles (12:59):
Well, it's funny
because somebody said that the
4090 is the new 1060 Ti, thatit's going to be the one that's
going to last a long time, beable to run games for a very
long time.
Mark Trobough (13:11):
I'm sure there's
like a 70 Ti or another 4070 or
4060 Ti.
That's going to be just asrelevant, maybe.
Brandon Hurles (13:19):
Maybe A 4090 is
pretty good.
It's going to last longerbecause it's the best.
Mark Trobough (13:22):
I feel like it is
going to last longer because
it's the best, but the price tagneeds to drop a little longer
to be more affordable.
The 1060 was nowhere near asexpensive.
Brandon Hurles (13:29):
I mean even the
4090 right now.
You still get $1,500 for it.
So I mean it's held its valuepretty well.
Mark Trobough (13:40):
The 1060 Ti had a
launch price of like $300.
Brandon Hurles (13:45):
That was crazy
Boy, how times have changed.
Mark Trobough (13:53):
I was just
putting that out there, that it
was far more of an affordableGPU.
Yeah.
Brandon Hurles (14:00):
Mr Coffee said.
No doubt 30 FPS is ridiculousfor today, but honestly, haven't
we been saying 60 should be thestandard for years now?
Yeah, I thought so.
I thought we were saying that, but apparently that's not the
case.
Fps, rhythm beaters, drivinggames you can tell when there's
FPS lag.
Yeah, I agree, abletigs.
I do not think the gamingindustry can abandon 30 FPS.
(14:23):
Something about 30 FPS is somesafe spot for these devs.
Yeah, I don't know.
There's definitely just certaingames where you can really tell
that it's running at 30.
It's bogging the game down.
If it's an indie game andthings like that, where it
doesn't matter as much and it'snot like a Twitch shooter or you
(14:46):
got to be fast in it type ofdeal, or there's a ton of combat
or a ton of people on screen,it can work.
But at this point in time it'scrazy.
And the fact that Sony istaking that down either tells me
one of two things A they're anasshole.
B they're working on abloodborne patch or a remaster
(15:07):
100.
Mark Trobough (15:08):
That's not an
option which one the one you
just said, the patch remaster.
Brandon Hurles (15:13):
That's not
happening you don't think so?
Mark Trobough (15:16):
no, or such a big
maybe, maybe a remaster that's
gonna have the same problems, because I mean, they remade
demon souls.
Brandon Hurles (15:23):
Well, how long
ago the game come out it's on
ps4.
Mark Trobough (15:27):
Yeah, so they're
not they're not doing anything
with last of us a remastered andremade that's also naughty dog
just being stupid.
But yeah, 100 if they, if theyhaven't done it by now, they're
not gonna do it.
That's that's where I stand onthat.
Where it's, where's the moneyin a patch?
I wouldn't't say that.
Brandon Hurles (15:45):
I could see them
re-releasing it on PS5 with a
great release and not a patch.
Mark Trobough (15:52):
But even then
it's going to be the bare
minimum.
They're just going to bring itto new consoles as a cash grab,
which means they're going to dovery little behind the scenes to
fix it up.
Brandon Hurles (15:59):
That was the
problem with that game.
That would have been one of thebig souls, like games, had not
had those issues.
I'm always loving issues, youlove it.
It still has a very, very muchhas a cult following.
People love bloodborne.
But it had those problems, solike it was hard to play for
some people and, like meincluded, I was like this is uh,
this is terrible.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
I guess right, don't
we have the same?
Mark Trobough (16:21):
the same problem
with like demon Souls for the
longest time.
Yeah, to leave the PS3?
.
Brandon Hurles (16:28):
Yeah, and they
fixed it obviously with the
remake and stuff like that, butthat was PS3.
We're talking PS4 forBloodborne.
That's a whole different story.
Mark Trobough (16:36):
Yeah, you can
still play the game now, just
fine, which is why they're notgoing to put a lot of effort
into it Playing, just fine.
Brandon Hurles (16:43):
I don't know
about that.
It's still got the problems.
The PS5 doesn't fix theproblems.
Mark Trobough (16:46):
Oh that's.
I just don't trust Sony to puttheir best foot forward.
They're only going to do what'san easy cash grab.
So why do it if there's noguaranteed massive profit in it?
Brandon Hurles (17:01):
Yeah, fair
enough.
Mark Trobough (17:02):
I'm not going to
cut Sony any slack on that end.
Brandon Hurles (17:05):
No, Me either.
What do we got next?
Mark Trobough (17:10):
Speaking of stuff
getting shut down or not making
money.
Multiverse is shutting downbecause, well, obviously nobody
plays this game.
It'll go offline officially atthe end of May, on the 30th of
this year, which feels likeit'll only been out for maybe
two years.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
We played it when it
was in beta, yeah, something
like that.
Mark Trobough (17:30):
It's not been out
for a long time.
Yeah, two years and outside oflike when it first launched it
just felt like it just kind oflike quietly went away after,
like, its launch window.
I mean, it's unapologetically aSmash Bros clone Like down to
the t, but it just doesn't do itas well great characters but,
it's not like a strong base ofcharacters, but it's not unique
(17:54):
enough to differentiate, differentiate itself outside of
smash bros, which is just abetter game.
When's the?
Brandon Hurles (18:02):
last time you
heard about somebody playing
multiverses competitively Never.
I think that's what killed it.
It doesn't have a competitivescene.
There's nothing keeping italive.
Mark Trobough (18:14):
I just think
there's better fighting games
out there that people wouldprefer to play.
That's the other problem.
It doesn't do enough.
That's different.
It just feels like a cash grabclone.
Brandon Hurles (18:24):
Yeah, I mean
it's Warner Brothers games.
I mean, this is what they dobest.
Mark Trobough (18:29):
They cash grab.
If they had tried to dosomething unique that was to
them, that wasn't just swappingout characters, it might have
had a chance.
But the fact that it looks andplays just like Smash Bros with
different characters, it's nevergoing to succeed.
Doing something like that, youneed something unique, a unique
spin to it.
It's inspired by another game, but it's wholly uniquely its own
(18:51):
.
Brandon Hurles (18:52):
Yeah, yeah.
And then I mean Mr Coffeebrought up a good point that
it's no fun with all themicrotransactions, so that
doesn't help.
I mean, I would say that, butthat's literally a free-to-play
game, that's like every AAA game, at this point it's
free-to-play, so I give it thebenefit of the doubt.
It's got to havemicrotransactions to make some
money, but the core game has tobe fun.
Mark Trobough (19:13):
Yeah, it's not
about people to go into the
microtransaction store, and it'sjust.
I'd rather just play Smash Brosat this point smash bros at
this point.
Brandon Hurles (19:31):
Uh, evil tigs.
I've got a i9, uh, 14th gen.
Uh runs very, very, very hot.
I think it's a the hottestrunning cpu on the market
currently.
Mark Trobough (19:35):
Uh, what do you
have?
13, 14th gen it's.
It's an i9, 13th gen.
I remember the exact one it is.
Brandon Hurles (19:41):
I I did the test
.
Mark Trobough (19:43):
It might be the
149.
I can't remember.
Brandon Hurles (19:46):
It's crazy hot,
very, very hot, very hot CPU.
Mark Trobough (19:52):
I mean, but
that's every modern CPU, because
they're just getting morecomplicated.
Yeah, they can do far moreprocessing with the same amount
of space, but that means it'sdoing a lot more, so it's going
to get hotter, so you have toget better when it comes to
cooling it off and stuff likethat yeah, I I can't speak for
amd because I don't use amt.
Brandon Hurles (20:11):
I go intel and I
go nvidia, that's just what
I've never.
I've just never used amd yeah, but I I do hear that the new amd
which keeps selling outconstantly.
I saw an alert today that itwent up and then it immediately
sold out.
I forget what it's called, theum ah shoot.
I forget what the the subtitleof it is, but it keeps selling
out.
Apparently it's the best cpufor gaming specifically.
(20:35):
But because I don't just dogaming on my, my setup, I do
other work, video work and stufflike that, and it's also my I
hear it's better.
Mark Trobough (20:42):
Uh, in event, I
mean eventually the way the
market's going, they're going toovertake and stuff like that,
and it's also my.
I hear it's better.
I mean eventually the way themarket's going, they're going to
overtake NVIDIA, but eventually, yeah, I don't know, it's just
going to, it'll be a thing.
Brandon Hurles (20:53):
Yeah, yeah, so
I'm not sure.
Mark Trobough (20:56):
It'll be a back
and forth.
Nvidia will have to figurestuff out, plus, they're trying
to shift towards.
Brandon Hurles (21:10):
so for sure, not
, not, maybe it's maybe it's not
a video but the whole intelstuff.
Mark Trobough (21:14):
I guess it was
trying to try to think of yeah,
yeah, for sure, uh ryzen I'm allover the place x 3d yeah,
that's the one I'm thinking of.
Brandon Hurles (21:20):
It keeps selling
in and out.
It went up today and thenimmediately sold out.
I just keep an eye on thesethings.
I was definitely not in themarket, since I just got the i9
14th gen a few months ago, soI'm good.
Mark Trobough (21:31):
Yeah, because uh
evil brought up about not having
to overclock.
The problem is, uh, the waythey're designed that you don't
really need to overclock themlike you used to like 20 years
ago to really yeah, it's notlike the the overclocking is is
far more negligible now.
I mean, if you're going tooverclock, you go ahead, but
it's the same thing.
You don't need like two gpus.
It's just not a thing anymoreyeah like where, if you wanted
(21:52):
like the high end, you go backto, like the 90, 80 or or
whatever the some of the oldercards are, you could get better
performance using joining dualcards.
I cannot remember what it'scalled, uh, but that's just not
a thing anymore, because, well, the single cards can do enough
and they're just the way thegames are designed.
They just don't.
They don't need it yeah, forsure.
Brandon Hurles (22:12):
Uh, I am not an
amd intel fanboy either.
Was supporting intel for 10years just what gets the job
done.
Mark Trobough (22:19):
For pricing, yeah
, fair enough yeah, you know,
best, best, best valueproposition.
That's really what it comesdown to, yeah for sure and some
people, just, you know, stickwith what, stick with what's
familiar, because at the end ofthe day I think it's a better
value proposition.
Brandon Hurles (22:32):
But I mean you
might could to some degree
nickel and dime outside of thehigh-end stuff my reasoning with
sticking with intel is that itis the best for video editing
and video work.
Amd is better for gaming.
That was my whole deal.
I don't just game on my setup.
Mark Trobough (22:57):
Now you can be a
fan of your own personal thick
Gardevoir.
Oh yeah, let me pull it up realquick.
Uh, so they got a nicelife-size.
Check that out.
I come out on the sixth.
I have no idea that is so coolyeah, they say 160 centimeters
(23:20):
tall.
Brandon Hurles (23:20):
I have no idea
what the actual price on this is
319 dollars 390 yeah, that's,yeah, it's in the article that's
a pretty pretty penny that's apretty penny, but it is my
favorite pokemon so it's likenot gonna lie.
I'd probably drop that on thattoo bad, I'm not gonna lie if I
was that desperate, I would markis visiting japan pretty soon,
(23:42):
so I might have to send you offwith $319.
Mark Trobough (23:47):
I don't know what
I'm going to have to mail it
back, I know, but it's the onlyway to get it.
What am I supposed to do?
Let's see if I can buy itonline.
That's what I would try.
Brandon Hurles (23:58):
Yeah, I guess I
could try.
It's pretty dang cool.
I'm not one to care aboutplushies or anything, but
because it's pretty dang cool.
I'm not one to they don't careabout plushies or anything, but
because it's my favorite pokemon.
It's gigantic.
I think it's really cool.
Be cool to sit here in the backof the background.
People.
Be like what the hell is upwith this guy.
It's kind of like some chick inthe background.
Yeah, right, that's just.
(24:19):
It's pretty neat, though.
Man, japan, only in japan.
Mark Trobough (24:22):
Yeah, there's
some more images of it it looks
like actually I can zoom in alittle bit better well, what are
you trying to say?
Brandon Hurles (24:33):
no, I was just.
I was looking at the imagespretty well designed.
Mark Trobough (24:39):
You kind of need,
like the actual person, to
really get the the size feel ofit outside.
Brandon Hurles (24:44):
Of the first one
.
Mark Trobough (24:48):
I think it's
pretty open, so it's designed to
be put on a little stool chairor something like that.
Brandon Hurles (24:52):
Yeah.
Mark Trobough (24:54):
Some of the more
product information.
This is all Google.
Brandon Hurles (24:56):
Yeah, it's like
Google Translate 160 to the toes
, 160 centimeters to the toes,if you actually like the full
top to bottom and stuff likethat 160 to the toes, 160
centimeters to the toes.
Mark Trobough (25:06):
So yeah, if you
actually like fully, the full
top to bottom and stuff likethat.
Brandon Hurles (25:09):
Just so you guys
know, this is only for ages 15
and up, so you're under 15.
You cannot own a large guard ofwar plush.
Mark Trobough (25:17):
It's okay, we
know Brandon's going to do with
this.
He's going to take it to hisown little personal cave and do
unspeakable horrors to it.
Oh my God, all his own littlepersonal cave and do unspeakable
horrors to it.
Oh my God.
All right, let's move on.
Oh, I couldn't help myself.
Yeah, I'm terrible.
So what was this going on withthe new, new GameCube prototype?
(25:41):
Yeah, not new, but there's someof the with the with the
GameCube prototype.
Yeah, do you rememberSpaceWorld?
There's some with the GameCubeprototype going on.
Brandon Hurles (25:49):
You remember
SpaceWorld?
Not really, no.
So it's like Nintendo'sessentially Nintendo's event
before Nintendo Directs thatthey used to do back in the day.
So basically, when they showedoff the Nintendo GameCube, they
showed it off as SpaceWorld andshowed off the Nintendo GameCube
, they showed it off a spaceworld and it showed off the
prototypes and it's like, how doI explain it?
(26:12):
Like they're.
They're not functional, youcan't use these.
But it has differences fromlike the final design, but not
like much you can.
You can look at it and like theimages.
Mark Trobough (26:22):
So it'd be good
if you just want to mod an
actual working GameCube into theprototype.
Other than that, what's thepoint?
Just to put on a shelf?
Put on a shelf, basically.
Yeah, how much are these goingfor?
Brandon Hurles (26:32):
$100,000.
Mark Trobough (26:34):
Oh, I'm sorry.
It's such a waste of money forjust a piece of plastic.
Brandon Hurles (26:38):
It has a
transparent lid and printed text
.
Mark Trobough (26:46):
But yeah, nobody
would mod and put a real
GameCube in these.
It's a not functional console.
Why would you spend that muchmoney on it?
Brandon Hurles (26:52):
like to me
there's no value in this.
Mark Trobough (26:54):
There's just zero
value in it.
You'd be better off putting itin a museum long in a museum
they'd be wild, I'm telling you.
Brandon Hurles (27:03):
I mean, there's
stuff people are willing to
spend money on.
Mark Trobough (27:06):
I do like it's
history, but like it doesn't
work.
It's just I'm into this kind ofstuff like this.
Brandon Hurles (27:14):
right like the
price tag is ridiculous.
But what I do, like that theyhad in the design for the space
world gamecube that they didn'tkeep for the final design was
having a little clear spot soyou could see the disc spinning
while it was on, like it had onthe top where the jewel was part
of it's cut out and clear soyou can see the disc spinning,
(27:37):
which is kind of cool, like acool little thing they shouldn't
have took away.
Mark Trobough (27:44):
They should have
done what they did with the old
64s, where you had, like that, that clear, see-through plastic
on it so you can see the wholeinsides and the disc spinning
and everything else.
That's what they should havedone.
What do you mean?
Like the?
Brandon Hurles (27:53):
fantastic models
.
Mark Trobough (27:55):
Yeah, where it's
like different colors, but it's
all.
It's like clear, see-throughplastics.
You can still like see in theinside on a functioning GameCube
, not a fake thing like this.
Brandon Hurles (28:11):
Yeah.
Mark Trobough (28:12):
It's a prototype
in design, only not in
practicality of how it works.
If this worked, it was like anearly design of the GameCube,
where there's hardware whereit's not fully finished, but it
still technically functions.
That'd be one thing.
You could still do somethingwith that, and there's probably
far less of those.
These are just something theyused to show off what it looked
like at a big convention, andthat was it.
Brandon Hurles (28:32):
there's no, no
need for it after the fact yeah,
I mean I think it's a coolpiece of history, but it's like,
it's like a museum type pieceto me and obviously it's going
to go to collectors that want toset it on their shelf and want
to look cool and say that theyown it and and that's that.
Mark Trobough (28:50):
It's like a
bragging rights type thing I
have so much money I don't knowwhat to do with it.
That's that I mean.
Brandon Hurles (28:55):
That's what it
is yeah, whales, I mean they buy
up.
You know everything.
So that's just how it goes.
Unfortunately, there's some ofthese people that have we can we
can ban these kind of sales.
Mark Trobough (29:05):
When I am emperor
of the world, I will ban stuff
like this.
All righty man, Whatever yousay yeah, I mean, that's exactly
what I did, say I decreed it.
Yeah yeah.
There's another rumor that wemight be getting another direct
(29:26):
on the 4th or 5th coming up.
I don't know what exactly wecan expect from it.
If we did get a direct nextmonth, do you think Nintendo
would show off any first partystuff, or do you think they
would just hold that to theSwitch 2 announcement?
Brandon Hurles (29:45):
That's a good
question, because I think this
would be what they're showingoff kind of as the final stuff
for the Nintendo Switch 1.
Yeah, Like this is it?
And then we have our nextDirect.
Mark Trobough (29:59):
I feel like the
next Direct if we do get one
more this would be the last onefor the Switch 2 Direct and I
just feel like it makes moresense to show off the Switch and
games that are going to belaunching on the Switch 2 with
that Direct all in one big go.
Brandon Hurles (30:14):
You have a
feeling this won't be Switch 2
related whatsoever.
It's just going to be hey, these final games, we got a
surprise for you.
They're going to show somesurprise of a game that's going
to come out on the Switch thatwe don't know about.
Mark Trobough (30:28):
Do you think we
will get any announcement for
prime two or three out of thisdirect?
I'm 100.
Brandon Hurles (30:33):
I think we have.
Mark Trobough (30:36):
We're just not
going to get it.
They just did one as a techdemo and they're straight to.
I think we have to.
Yeah, I mean it'd beunfortunate, considering that
the really the story, especiallythe story of three, really ties
into the probably going to tieinto the story of four it's very
important.
Brandon Hurles (30:50):
Why not have it
very important to the story?
You can't jump from one to four.
Mark Trobough (30:53):
I mean you can,
but like it doesn't make sense
three, at the very least twokind of plays like one.
As far as the story it's, it'snot.
It's not self-contained, butthe story itself is kind of self
contained.
It's just the, the greater arcthat leads into three, ties into
one and three is very importantstory-wise, so yeah it's really
the first of those three gamesto really actually have like a
(31:15):
proper story, though at the theuh, in my opinion it was at the
cost of the isolationist typefeel that you usually prefer in
a metroid game for two, no forthree.
For three yeah, you're actuallydealing with the federation and
other hunters and you'reactually dealing with the
Federation and other Hunters andyou're jumping between worlds
and stuff like that, becausePrime 2 is by far my favorite
(31:35):
Metroid Prime game.
Brandon Hurles (31:38):
Yeah, I don't
know.
Hunters is my favorite, but Ilike Prime 2, probably second.
Mark Trobough (31:44):
I just think it
captures what Metroid is in a 3D
environment best.
Brandon Hurles (31:48):
I really, really
, really like Prime 3.
I really like it.
I go back and forth for asecond because I really, really,
really like Prime 3.
I really like it I think it didthe motion controls.
Mark Trobough (31:53):
I'd rather play
Prime 1 and 2.
Brandon Hurles (31:56):
I really liked 3
a lot when it came out.
Mark Trobough (31:59):
I don't like the
motion controls in 3 or the
forced use of the motioncontrols in 3.
Brandon Hurles (32:04):
But it works
well.
Mark Trobough (32:06):
You can at least
admit that it does, but it works
very well, it's not a game Iwant to play with motion
controls, not for hours on end.
Brandon Hurles (32:13):
Well, I think
you want to fix that with it
coming to Switch obviously.
Mark Trobough (32:16):
Well, I mean they
have to.
Brandon Hurles (32:18):
Yeah.
Mark Trobough (32:19):
But I just prefer
to play it on a standard
controller.
I don't want to do weird motioncontrols for like six hours,
like six hours.
I'm sure to get tired.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Yeah, no.
Brandon Hurles (32:37):
I don't think
one related though, and kind of
what's happening there at the,the end of the switch, the final
, the final.
What is it?
The final countdown, orwhatever it is from Majora's
Mask?
Mark Trobough (32:51):
you have three
days remaining should put
something like that together forthe official switch to direct
yeah, for sure you know when ithappens right as they switch to
is announced, the earth getsplummeted with a comet and we
never get to see the switch toyeah, mr Coffee brought up a
(33:12):
good plan.
Brandon Hurles (33:13):
I wonder if we
do get another indie direct
before the switch to direct.
I don't know it.
Mark Trobough (33:19):
Just, I feel like
we're gonna get.
We will get one more.
So either this will have indiegames in it or I don't.
Brandon Hurles (33:23):
I don't know it
could be a combined one.
They've done that before whereit's like that would make a lot
more.
Mark Trobough (33:28):
You're just
feeling like, with the timeline
of it being about two months out, if you are going to get one,
you'll get one more direct.
Yeah, and I'm probably going tobe a shorter one and just close
out switch games coming out forthe for the rest of the year
yeah, yeah, for sure, yeah, Ikind of feel the same way it
just makes more sense to keepeverything together for the
(33:49):
switch to and not like tip yourhand on games and stuff like
that yeah.
Brandon Hurles (33:54):
Yeah, makes
sense.
All right, what do we got?
Mark Trobough (33:59):
next.
Hey, how's it going?
Palmer Froggy's hopping inAppreciate you, but we did have
some new PS games for the monthof February, if you are on these
or want to look into them.
So it's a high life and Pac-Manworld repack for both PS4 and
the PS5 and then payday threeonly on the PS5.
(34:19):
Act now you got a month to getthese games.
Brandon Hurles (34:25):
Yeah, not a bad
month.
Not a bad month.
Payday three is kind of a.
That's like the highlightedgame there.
Mark Trobough (34:34):
I'm kind of
mucked on it.
Brandon Hurles (34:35):
It's fine for a
free game, it's fine, but it's
basically like what's the game?
I'm thinking of A situationwhere they the game.
That's like Marvel.
It's an Overwatch situationwhere they went and game.
It's like marvel overwatch.
It's an overwatch situationwhere they went and closed down
overwatch, then launchedoverwatch 2 with like all these
(34:57):
features gone.
That's what they did withpayday 3.
It had like no features at all, none.
They launched it with likethere was like nothing to it.
I was like this sucks, likethis is bad man.
Mark Trobough (35:08):
People like
what's the point of playing this
game?
Brandon Hurles (35:09):
This is really
bad, but Pac-Man.
Mark Trobough (35:11):
World.
Brandon Hurles (35:12):
Repack really
good.
High on life really good.
So two out of three for me, tworeally good games.
High on life is a very weird, bizarre game where your gun
talks to you the whole time andsays crazy stuff.
Mark Trobough (35:27):
Yeah, I've seen
clips of it.
Brandon Hurles (35:31):
Yeah, pac-man
World Repack is a really really
good remaster of just an awesome3D platformer.
It's a good month, even thoughI already own two of the three.
I think it's good for peoplethat haven't gotten to play and
then maybe more people will getinto Pac-Man.
These Pac-Man World games arereally, really fun 3D
platformers.
Mark Trobough (35:48):
Yeah, because
games are really really fun, 3d
platformers.
So yeah, uh, because also ithappened to dropped a few days
ago we got the new pack, uh, forpokemon trading or the pokemon
pocket trading card game andstuff like that yeah, you want
to talk about that a little bityeah, we can real quick.
Uh, because it's I, I've stillstill trying to hunt down a few
things.
I'm going to open a bunch ofpacks here soon, but I mean it's
(36:09):
always good to see some newstuff.
I forget yeah, the only peopledidn't like were the was the way
the new trading worksessentially.
So essentially, if you'retrying to trade a card of any
value, there's like trade tokensand stuff that you have to use
yeah but I mean, I can't.
It's a mobile game, these aren'tactual real cards and they're
(36:30):
trying to make money here.
This kind of makes sense on whythey're trying to put a premium
that way.
People aren't just trying tojust mass trade to fill out
their uh, fill up their theirpacks and then people stop
opening the packs.
Brandon Hurles (36:40):
You're paying
money for it yeah, I tried to do
a trade with you, but it didn'twork for some reason.
Just to test, we tried to dowith that.
Because the servers were so badlike the game I couldn't do
anything like that first eveningthat it dropped it just the
game wouldn't work for me I justwanted to try it out and see
what happened, but uh yeah, maybe we'll have to try it again
.
Mark Trobough (36:59):
Um, besides, most
people are going to get you
know opening like you're.
If you have the, the, thepremium version of it, you're
open three packs a day and stufflike that.
Brandon Hurles (37:09):
I just
re-subscribed, you're going to
be able to get the whole thing.
Mark Trobough (37:11):
If you open
enough packs with the pack
points you're going to be ableto find the ones and twos that
you have, because there's abouta month or so between it feels
like about a month or two monthand a half when they're.
This is by far the 100 cardssmaller than Genetic Apex us
like 100 cards smaller than agenetic apex.
So yeah, training is kind of apain but you're gonna.
You're gonna get most of thesecards with you know, but just
(37:33):
some patience and stuff likethat.
So yeah, they clearly don'twant you just mass trading a lot
of stuff for, for the rarecards, mainly it's the, the,
it's the this is feels like it'seasier to fill out, like some
some commons and stuff like that.
But if you're going for likethe ex is like the valuable
cards, that either good, yeah, they are just harder to pull.
They don't want you just likemass trading with a bunch of
people just to get everythingthat you need yeah, fair enough
(37:56):
controversy.
But I'm like it's a mobile game,like yeah, they're, they're
here to here to make money.
This like I think your peopleare overreacting yeah, the
tokens kind of sucks.
Brandon Hurles (38:06):
But again, you
said it is a mobile game and it
is to be expected.
So what's up?
Get in the tank now and PalmerFrog.
You guys, I love you guys.
Mark Trobough (38:19):
Always, always,
love, appreciate it.
I know you didn't get a chance,but if you didn't get the
chance for the Nintendo Switch 2experience, you can go on ebay
and get some scalpers who arewilling to uh charge you a
premium for it yeah, isn't thatsomething yeah, apparently,
(38:41):
though, there was one that waspulled down that was like listed
for like a thousand dollars, which doesn't surprise me at all
.
Someone's going to pay $1,000for that?
Brandon Hurles (38:49):
No, I think it's
crazy.
It is absolutely crazy.
My question is like how canthey even sell these, because
it's like linked to yourNintendo account.
I've got no idea, so it's likehow does it work?
Mark Trobough (39:04):
So I was really
bummed out.
Brandon Hurles (39:05):
I sent you all
of them when I got declined.
I was like super bummed out.
I sent you all of them where Igot declined.
I was like super bummed outbecause I could have like a plus
one if I add you under mynintendo account.
So, like I, if neither of you,if you would have won, you could
have brought me, and if I wouldhave won I could have brought
you right, yeah, and I assumeyou didn't win any either.
No, you would told me this issomething you go.
Mark Trobough (39:25):
You just go in
assuming you're not going to
make it, because it's massivevolumes of people.
Brandon Hurles (39:29):
I knew six
people that got in personally
that I'm friends with.
I was like are you kidding me?
It's like people are getting in, but there is a wait list, so
there's still the opportunity topotentially still be able to go
to the Nintendo Switch 2experience.
But now you have to get into await list if you didn't get get
(39:49):
in through the the the programthing that they have.
So I don't know how the waitlist works.
Mark Trobough (39:54):
I don't know when
it goes up I wouldn't expect
anything to come of it.
Brandon Hurles (39:58):
To be fair, like
I'd expect less, less than good
odds compared to if you didn'tget the, uh, didn't get, yeah, I
wouldn't expect good odds, butlike there's still a chance and
if it happens you bet your ass,I'll be there and and be
covering the switch to stuff.
But I don't know how it works, how the waitlist works and stuff
, uh, things like that.
(40:18):
Oh oh, the waitlists are upright now.
I'm actually going to get andjoin those while we're live.
You can join the waitlist rightnow.
Uh, yeah, so at least it's oneof those things.
Mark Trobough (40:30):
It doesn't hurt,
yeah I mean, why not?
Brandon Hurles (40:32):
maybe you can do
it after the the stream or
something like that.
Mark Trobough (40:35):
But yeah, I'm
gonna go ahead and at least join
into the wait list so that I'mthere but on top of that, uh
just kind of know we're, youknow, a little strapped for time
today.
Uh, there are seven games thatea is shutting down uh this year
and uh, the bunch of the bulkof these have happened in
january, so they're alreadyoffline.
(40:56):
Uh, that's a roar.
Uh, roar mickleroy's pga tour Ican't say his name.
Simpsons tapped out blood andgory immortals.
Contract killer snipers, deerhunter, classic dino hunter,
deadly shores.
Trinity warriors for ContractKiller Snipers, deer Hunter,
classic Dino Hunter, deadlyShores.
Trinity Warriors 4, frontlineCommando 2, frontline Commander
D-Day are all offline now.
And then UFC 3 shuts downFebruary 17th.
(41:20):
Ea Sports.
Ufc Mobile 2 on March 13th.
Ncaa 14 March 13th.
That's not surprising with thenew games.
And then Madden NFL 21, june30th.
Uh, the sports games don'treally surprise me, and there's
a few mobile games in here thatyou know they run their course.
They're not profitable anymore.
There's no point in uh andhaving them online.
(41:41):
You just, you just pay moneyfor a server.
At that point, yeah, none ofthese really jumped out as like
really big, big titles, butobviously once it's down, then
it.
You know any online stuffthat's tied to you know sucks
for the people that are fans ofthese games.
Brandon Hurles (41:57):
Yeah, it does,
it's always.
It always sucks.
It doesn't matter what it is tosee.
You know the stuff go down andstuff like that.
But unfortunate, but it's boundto happen.
Mark Trobough (42:13):
It's like half of
these are like sports games.
You're like, okay, I could kindof see that when the new game
comes out, eventually peoplejust stop playing.
Stop playing the older games.
So you're gonna have to sunsetthem, because you know, even if
nobody's playing the game, you're still having to support
it on a server and pay for thosebills.
Yeah, if it's not profitable, why are you going to continue to
do it?
Right, apparently the creativedirector from hell, divers 2,
(42:33):
won't be involved in video gamesanymore.
Brandon Hurles (42:36):
I don't know
what you heard about this at all
I didn't hear anything aboutuntil I saw the news story, so
I'm not yeah not really in theloop as to why exactly, but I
thought it was prettyinteresting.
I mean, um, hellivers 2 was asuccess.
There's some stumbles along theway with different stuff being
(42:56):
said with community managers andthings like that, but I mean
overall a success.
So I'm not sure what the wholecontext behind that is.
Mark Trobough (43:04):
You can see what
he posted over on X, but
essentially just wants to takean extended leave of absence.
Technically he said like asabbatical.
So for whatever reason personalreasons, who knows could have
stuff going on.
His personal life needs to stepaway.
Hopefully he comes back andcontinues to do good work with I
don't know Helldivers 3eventually who knows If it
(43:28):
happens yeah, when the PS6 comesout.
Brandon Hurles (43:31):
Yeah, if it
happens when the PS6 comes out.
Mark Trobough (43:32):
Yeah, if it
happens.
I mean, or whatever I think itwould but yeah, whatever error
ends up working on after thefact.
So it's unfortunate buthopefully everything kind of
gets taken care of yeah, forsure oh, I can hit the right
button, I know what I'm doing.
Apparently there's a rumor outnow that the the MetaQuest.
(44:00):
There's a new super premiumMetaQuest headset in development
yeah, 4k into your eyeballs$20,000.
Premium MetaQuest headset indevelopment yeah, top of the
line.
4k into your eyeballs $20,000.
Brandon Hurles (44:16):
I'm making that
part up.
But I was about to say maybe Iwon't hold out for this when
they say, like a new high-endheadset?
Mark Trobough (44:21):
what do you feel
like they're actually working on
?
Or is this just another step upfor what the MetaQuest 4 is
going to be?
You, you know, $1,500 orsomething like that.
Brandon Hurles (44:29):
I wouldn't say
that much on meta quest 300
pixels per 500 um, I don't know,but I purposely held off on
getting the meta quest 3 justbecause we are so close to
getting a new one.
Mark Zuckerberg talked aboutwhat they're essentially what
they're working on for VR and ARon the Joe Rogan podcast, so
(44:50):
like that solidified me justwaiting for the next thing.
Um, when they say high endheadset, that either means one
or two things.
Either it means we're gettingthe meta quest for, or we're
getting the meta quest pro two.
If it's a pro two, I don'tnecessarily care, cause that's
more of a um, that's more forlike work and stuff like that.
(45:13):
It's less about gaming.
But if it's MetaQuest 4, that'dbe cool.
I mean, I'm.
He was talking about some of thethings that they're able to do
and they want to.
You know, like more hapticfeedback for Meta, meta quest,
so things are more realistic, and stuff like that.
(45:34):
Um, so I, you know, I don'tknow, but it's the whole reason
I've held off on getting.
I really, really want to get ameta quest 3, but somebody
talked me out of it.
It's like the the nextheadset's just around the corner
, so I'm like I'll just wait,I'll just wait for the new one
and then just grab it then.
Mark Trobough (45:53):
There's always
going to be a new one too.
If you're going to buy it,might as well buy it when a new
model comes out.
Brandon Hurles (45:57):
Yeah, because
we're already a few years into
the MetaQuest 3, so they've beenbeing refreshed every couple of
years, so it's obviously goingto happen.
So yeah, I'm just going to holdout for the next one, but I mean
it's cool to see.
You know, I like to see thedevelopment of the stuff.
(46:18):
I think that you know, obviouslymeta quest has most of the
market for um, you know, for vrright now and stuff like that.
They're doing it very well andit's very successful and and a
lot of people have meta questheadsets, um, so it's they're
doing it the right way and withnot having to be tethered into
something but also having theoption to tether into your pc,
is really cool, um.
So yeah, I mean I'm excited tosee what they do see, see what's
(46:41):
better about the next headset, how more immersive it is if it
takes ar um more into account aswell as vr, because I think ar
is just as cool as vr in certaincircumstances and with certain
games and certain things thatyou can do.
So definitely looking forwardto see what they do, because I
do like vr quite a bit.
(47:02):
It's just one of those thingswhere it's like the with the
psvr2 you have to be pluggedinto the freaking ps5 or into
the pc.
It's really clunky and it'sjust like it would be nice to
have just like a you knowwireless headset there to be
able to use, and stuff like thatno, yeah, I agree wholesale.
Mark Trobough (47:21):
Uh, oh, you're
doing something weird.
Uh, we got some news, uh,pretty much phil spencer coming
out and saying that, uh,exclusivity for like starfield
is not set in stone.
Essentially which?
One of my means is eventuallygoing to come to to every other
platform yeah, let's go aheadand share the video that we've
(47:41):
got here.
Brandon Hurles (47:41):
It's about three
minutes and 30 seconds long, so
we'll just kind of show thisand talk and react indiana jones
has an exclusivity window.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
To be fair, can you
solidify that Starfield staying
put for the time being?
Speaker 3 (47:55):
No, like I'm not,
there's no specific game that I
this kind of goes back to my redline answer.
Like there's no reason for meto put a ring fence around any
game and say this game will notgo to a place that it would find
players where we'd havebusiness success for us.
What we find is we're able todrive a better business that
(48:16):
allows us to invest in greatgame lineup, like you saw, and
that's our strategy, right?
Our strategy is to allow ourgames to be available.
Game Pass is an importantcomponent of playing the games
on our platform.
But to keep games off of otherplatforms we don't think is a
path that we're going to.
That's not a path for us.
It doesn't work for us.
What we're doing now, we think, really enables us to build the
(48:39):
best platform for the world'sbest games, because the world's
biggest games are available inmultiple places and more and
more creators are asking us howdo we stay connected when our
game might be playable in allthese different places?
And we want Xbox to beabsolutely the platform that
enables that.
We think that makes us unique.
Most of the other platforms outthere are single platform on
(49:00):
single device, whether that's PC, whether it's mobile, whether
it's a console, and we want Xboxto be a platform that enables
creators across any screen thatpeople want to play on.
I hear you.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
That makes absolutely
perfect sense to me want Xbox
to be a platform that enablescreators across any screen that
people want to play on.
I hear you.
That makes absolutely perfectsense to me.
I do think that some fans are alittle concerned about how
should I say it Xbox losing itsidentity maybe.
What would you say to addressthose concerns from longtime
fans?
Speaker 3 (49:28):
Well, one, I them
right.
I you know I'm pretty active inour player base and I'm active
in the community.
I listen, um, I think ouridentity will continue to evolve
, which it frankly always has.
Um, but I, when I hear concerns, I hear concerns about is my
library of games safe, am Istill going to be able to play
the games?
And I think, over the years,I'm proud of the commitment
(49:56):
we've shown to respectingpurchases on our platform
through back compat, throughcross entitlement, xbox play
anywhere through cross playthings that we've done to enable
people to continue to play.
Um, so I hear that when I thinkabout the, I see the investments
we're making in platform andhow we want Xbox to show up in
multiple places and your libraryto be available there.
When I think about buy tostream so if I buy a game I'll
(50:17):
be able to stream it to devicesLike this is all about making
sure that your library of gamesthat you own on Xbox are
playable in multiple places.
So I'd say it's an evolution ofour identity, but I believe
it's an identity that thisindustry needs.
When you think about where thisindustry is now and you see the
challenges, the businesschallenges that are out there
(50:37):
for many companies that I thinkus keep making games more
accessible to more people hasjust got to be front and center
for us as an industry.
So we continue to see greatgames that we've seen over the
years.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
This video was made
possible by patrons and YouTube
members, if you.
Brandon Hurles (50:59):
All right.
So we kind of got the gist ofwhat's going on there.
What's, what's your firstthoughts about what he had to
say, mark?
Mark Trobough (51:07):
I mean, it's the
same thing that we've always
thought of for forever that itfeels like they don't care about
exclusivity and they're justgoing to continue the way of the
Game Pass, which I don't thinkbodes well for a console long
term or massive success with aconsole, but that's how.
Brandon Hurles (51:24):
I always felt I
wonder, do they really care
about the future of theMicrosoft console?
Or do they really care aboutthe future of the Microsoft
console, or do they just careabout?
Mark Trobough (51:35):
the future of
Microsoft games.
I just think whatever's goingto make the most money, which is
more the software side than thehardware, if it seems like, or
at the very least from what he'ssaying they just don't care
about exclusivity, which isusually what you use when you're
trying to sell a console.
You keep your first-party gameson your console only yeah, yeah
(51:55):
, I thought that was interesting.
Brandon Hurles (51:56):
I mean, um, you
know, kind of uh correlates to
what I've thought kind of theentire time, that they, uh, they
do want to focus on thesoftware side of things and that
they're going to keep a consolearound I do feel like we are
still getting a next-gen Xboxconsole but it's not their
(52:17):
priority.
Priority is on the softwaresales.
So they're giving you an optionand a way to play those games
via their platform, but theydon't care how you play it
realistically.
And I mean, you know, the wholeslogan of this is an xbox.
This is an xbox, you know, showing, like all these
different things that um areapparently an xbox.
(52:39):
You know, such as your fire tvstick is an xbox and I mean,
they can say whatever they wantyeah, uh, mr coffee said that
microsoft has no identity after360.
That has been its biggestproblem for generations.
I mean, I feel like the xboxone had the least identity of
(53:02):
any xbox, even less than theseries x.
Mark Trobough (53:04):
I don't know how
you feel about it doesn't really
have much of identity either, because their games are all over
the place.
You can play them pretty muchanywhere.
So what's the point of buyingan Xbox if I can play it on my
PlayStation?
Brandon Hurles (53:15):
No, but the Xbox
One generation was just like.
Where are the games Period?
Where?
Mark Trobough (53:21):
are the games now
?
Where are their games right now?
Brandon Hurles (53:24):
Hey, what's up?
Lewister, Thanks for coming inand hanging out.
Appreciate it.
Yeah, I mean I don't knowLegitimately I have no idea, but
I mean it sounds like they knowwhat they're doing.
As far as the software side ofthings and we're going to get
ready to dive into, I guesswe'll go ahead and talk about it
.
Now.
The Forza Horizon 5 is comingto PS5.
(53:49):
So that's a big deal.
That's a first party Microsoftgame that has never been on
another platform.
This kind of broke the internettoday.
When they were talking aboutthis, I thought it was a joke at
first, Because this is one oftheir staple ips.
(54:11):
Like people you know what Imean.
Like this is a system sellerfor xbox.
Mark Trobough (54:17):
Like this sells
systems I mean, they already
kind of went away with that withjust for forza horizon yeah,
they.
They kind of went when theystarted to go away with the game
pass to pc.
But if they're bringing, liketheir major first party titles
to ps5, I think it, justregardless of what they're
willing to say, it's thebeginning and the end of the
consoles for them.
Brandon Hurles (54:35):
Yeah, I mean, I
would beg to say that Forza is
bigger than Halo is now in 2025.
Halo dropped off a cliff.
Mark Trobough (54:42):
I wouldn't say
Halo is a premier product
anymore.
Brandon Hurles (54:45):
When I think of
Xbox now, I think of Forza.
That's what I think of first.
So it's interesting.
When I think of Xbox now, Ithink of Forza.
That's what I think of first.
It's interesting.
It's interesting.
I'm sitting back as a fan ofboth the franchise, xbox and
PlayStation, wondering how thiswill go and what the sales of
this will be like.
Will it be the right move?
(55:06):
I mean it could be the rightmove for Xbox.
If it sells well, then morepower mean, you know, more power
to them if it's what they wantto do.
I think it's cool you canwishlist it now on PS5.
I think I'll pick it up justfor the sake of it being an Xbox
game on PS5.
I already got it on Series X,but I want to try it out there
(55:26):
on the PS5 Pro and see how itperforms, and just the novelty
of being able to play it on aPS5 is just kind of crazy.
So you know I'm pretty dangexcited for it.
I'm, you know.
Oh, mark disappeared.
What's that?
He?
Mark Trobough (55:44):
disappeared.
My camera was like half framefor a while.
I went to just turn it off.
It was far more distracting, Idon't know.
The issue went away and thenagain I came back midstream.
Brandon Hurles (55:55):
But yeah, I mean
, you can go on the Forza
website there and it does showthat you can wishlist it now.
So pretty cool stuff there.
Forza is obviously a massiveseries and stuff like that.
So I'm'm really really cool.
I'm really excited to see howcool this will be on the ps5.
Mark Trobough (56:15):
Um, you know, I
think it's pretty awesome, so it
might perform even better thanthe xbox.
Who knows your?
Brandon Hurles (56:22):
camera get fixed
highly doubt it okay I'm
talking to nobody.
Mark Trobough (56:32):
Yeah, no, unless
you want one frame every 10
seconds.
Brandon Hurles (56:36):
Lewis said how
y'all feel about the Switch 2?
I think we're both prettyexcited.
Yeah, we talked a little bitabout it earlier on.
What is it?
Mark Trobough (56:48):
You just missed
what we were talking about a
little bit earlier, earlier.
Brandon Hurles (56:50):
So yeah, uh,
evil six said sony had the
chance but wanted exclusiverights, not timed.
This was during the earlydevelopment stages, and then
microsoft got involved.
Uh, and mr coffee said haloisn't a major ip anymore.
It is not, unfortunately, asmuch as I would love to see halo
return to its roots.
Um, I don't know if it's gonnahappen, so not with the, not
(57:15):
with people currently in chargeof it.
Mark Trobough (57:17):
You're not, I
don't, I don't have faith in it,
but I mean that's that's liketriple a gaming as a whole.
This is a people in charge thatjust don't know what they're
doing and just runningeverything into the ground.
Uh, because I mean you can talkabout it's a decent segue
because uh, dragon age, the veilguard, has had a lot of its
developers uh laid off.
(57:38):
I think the entire uh writingteam, uh for veil guard was was
let go.
The game lost, the game lostmoney.
Like I don't know how anybodyexpected to keep their job after
that, especially anybody thathad any major like hands-on,
like decision making yeah, Idon't even know what to say,
because it's like that yeah, Idon't even know, I, I don't even
(58:04):
know.
I mean they made a bad game likewhy would you want to keep your
?
I'd be.
I'm more curious about whowould be willing to hire you
after you put out this thatwould be an embarrassment on
your resume.
Brandon Hurles (58:15):
You wouldn't
even want to put that on your
resume I've had 19 years it'slike putting concord on your
resume.
I made a game that lost likemillions of dollars can you
imagine the people that have toput concord on their resume?
I just wouldn't put it thereexactly um I'd rather have a cap
on my work experience yeah, unfortunately, it just says that
(58:38):
some developers were let go.
Mark Trobough (58:41):
It doesn't really
give us a, I'm pretty sure
everything that a lot of whatwe've seen are from like writing
in the narrative.
A lot, of, a lot of people thatwere involved in that have
started being like I was likethe storyboarding stuff people
that had involvement in thewriting, like the direction of
the game which makes sense.
That's like where the thebiggest issue was was with the
narrative.
I saw that I still didn't carefor the art of the game, but I
(59:05):
think, I think the art it's itwent from this dark.
Speaker 3 (59:08):
You look at it.
Mark Trobough (59:10):
You look at
origins and dragon age 2 and
it's still this dark, grittystory.
Yeah, and it was a little lesswith the uh inquisition, but it
still felt like a Dragon Agegame.
And then this just completelyfelt like it wasn't even part of
the same universe.
Brandon Hurles (59:23):
All right, I
don't mean to be.
Mark Trobough (59:25):
Outside of where
it decided to get.
Really, I'm not making fun ofanybody, or anything.
Brandon Hurles (59:29):
I'm not making
fun of anybody, but I do want to
read a couple of.
They're not even tweets becausethey're from Blue Sky, but
these are a couple people thatgot laid off.
These are a couple people thatgot laid off.
They made these posts on BlueSky.
Trick Weeks said I am nowlooking for a new writing and
narrative position.
It's been a privilege to workwith so many amazing devs over
(59:50):
my 20 years at BioWare and Iwill cherish the memories of the
wonderful folks in thecommunity I've met along the way
.
Thank you all.
And then Karen Westweek saidhello, I'm looking for work,
ideally in an editor role.
It's been an honor to work withso many talented professionals
and a pleasure to meet so manyamazing community members In my
19 years at BioWare.
I'm so grateful for you all.
I just want to point out thatthey did post these on Blue Sky,
(01:00:11):
if that tells you anything.
Mark Trobough (01:00:15):
I mean it says
all it needs.
I don't want to know if youcare.
That tells you everything,right?
Brandon Hurles (01:00:18):
I mean it says
all it needs.
I don't know if you care.
Mark Trobough (01:00:19):
That tells you
everything.
Right, tells me everything.
Yeah, I think you just need tostep away from games for a while
.
You clearly did not put yourbest foot forward in this game,
and it showed.
Brandon Hurles (01:00:34):
Well, in good
news, Sega renewed the trademark
for Skies of Arcadia, which iscrazy.
So my wonder is are they doingsomething with this IP?
Mark Trobough (01:00:47):
finally, I'd
assume so, at least re-releasing
it, remastering, remaking.
If you're going to renew the IP, do something with it.
Brandon Hurles (01:00:57):
What a fantastic
10 out of 10.
I played this game on theDreamcast and on the Gamecube
all the way through and it is aabsolute masterpiece, just JRPG
greatness.
I would absolutely love to seethem do something with this IP.
I don't care if it's a remaster, I don't care if it's a remake,
I don't care if it's a new game.
I would just love to see themdo something with this ip
(01:01:21):
because it was a really, reallygood game.
It was so good that theybrought it from the dreamcast
over to the gamecube withadditional like uh content and
stuff like that.
It's guys of arcadia legendsand it's just a fantastic,
freaking game, man, just so good.
So I would love to see like arevival of this game.
Have you played this, mark?
Mark Trobough (01:01:41):
I have not.
I mean, consider how old it isand what it came out on.
It's just not a game I wouldhave been able.
Brandon Hurles (01:01:47):
I had a GameCube
.
Mark Trobough (01:01:49):
Well, it didn't,
I think.
I don't think it came out onthe GameCube, did it yeah?
Brandon Hurles (01:01:52):
Skies of Arcadia
Legends.
It was the upgraded.
It wouldn't have been a game.
Mark Trobough (01:01:56):
I would have
played at that age.
Brandon Hurles (01:01:57):
to be fair, Bro,
you played Lost Kingdoms.
That's like one game.
Yeah, this game's fantastic.
I love rewatching the trailer.
Mark Trobough (01:02:07):
You're also
asking there's a time I didn't
have money, so if I couldn't buyit myself, I'm probably not
getting it.
Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Yeah, Lost.
Mark Trobough (01:02:14):
Kingdoms was a
game that I got for free.
Brandon Hurles (01:02:19):
Yeah, such a
good game.
Yeah, takes a lot of uh,there's a lot of anime tropes in
the game and stuff too.
Um, take some like inspirationfrom like uh, miyazaki films and
stuff like that too.
It's just very.
Mark Trobough (01:02:35):
It's such a good
game, man, such a good jrpg that
classic like late 90s, early2000s RPG or JRPG essentially
and it looks even better.
Brandon Hurles (01:02:45):
On GameCube,
they essentially remastered it
and added additional content, soit just looks and performs
better on GameCube 480p trailer.
Yeah this is a pretty roughtrailer, but yeah, the game's's
great.
I absolutely love it.
So that's really really cool tosee.
Mark Trobough (01:03:04):
Is your camera
working?
Yet talk to a ghost, I mean, you can talk to a still image
all right, we've got a blackmuthwukong hits yet another
incredible sales milestone.
Brandon Hurles (01:03:16):
What's, uh, the
milestone mark?
Mark Trobough (01:03:18):
uh, it hit 25
million sales, so obviously it
sold the bulk.
I think it's in the first monthit hit about 20 million and
then, you know, a few monthslater sold another 5 million.
But it's still.
That's still good sales for a,for a new ip and a fairly new
studio that just came out ofnowhere yeah, and this just got,
I think it.
Brandon Hurles (01:03:37):
I don't think
it's out yet, I think it's about
to come out, but but it'scoming out on PS5.
So I want to grab it physicallythere, because a game like this
I know I want to have physicalbecause I know it's a good game
and it's that type ofsingle-player game where it's
like, yeah, I want to have thatphysical for sure.
Yeah, I'm definitely going tograb that PS5 copy of this and
(01:03:58):
play it.
I've been been waiting foreverand I I damn near grabbed it on
pc just so I could play it, butI was like, hold out, I want the
physical of it I got it on pcso yeah but it's a good game and
stuff like that.
Mark Trobough (01:04:12):
Is it perfect?
No, but it's.
Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
It's in the right
direction I think it's one of
the biggest things is the artstyle of the game.
Mark Trobough (01:04:18):
So yeah, well, I
mean, the chinese developers are
better than triple a westerndevelopers.
Brandon Hurles (01:04:24):
So I agree with
that that's, that's shocking uh,
yeah, I was just joking, ofcourse.
Yeah, I know the chinesedevelopers are putting out some
really good stuff.
What's that game mean you arelooking forward to?
Uh, that's coming out soon Ithink I've got it.
Mark Trobough (01:04:38):
I think so.
I think it got on my wishlist.
Brandon Hurles (01:04:40):
Yeah, I think
it's called Wu-Ching.
I'm really excited for thatgame.
Mark Trobough (01:04:43):
Yeah, it's
Wu-Ching Fallen Feathers.
It comes out sometime in 2025.
Yeah, I'm really excited forthat.
Brandon Hurles (01:04:48):
I can't wait to
get a release date for that,
because I'll definitely beplaying it now on PC.
That looks really cool too.
It's like a reminds me ofstellar blade.
I love stellar blade, so if Ican get more of something like
that you know, cause that wasalso a Chinese developed game
then no that was a, that wasSouth.
Korean.
Oh yeah, that's right.
Sorry, uh, but I I definitelyuh really excited about checking
(01:05:09):
that out.
Mark Trobough (01:05:10):
So yeah, the, the
, the Korean, and because they
actually deliver what peoplewant, which is just not ugly, no
DEI, yeah, pretty much.
Brandon Hurles (01:05:22):
Yeah.
Mark Trobough (01:05:24):
Yeah, I'm excited
to check it out.
Speaking of AAA or quadruple Agaming, there's a rumor out that
GTA 6's online mode will beavailable as a standalone
purchase day one, so essentiallyyou could just hop into the
online and not even play thesingle player game for GTAt6.
Don't know how you feel aboutthis.
I mean 100, I think they I haveheard people talk about it they
(01:05:47):
could probably sell gta6 forlike 40 and it's still gonna
make bank because of the, because of gta online just makes
so much money.
I could see this happening.
I would do it.
I think it'll launch probablyat 70 dollars, but 100.
This, this game is going tomake boat, boat loads, not only
from, not only from the gamesales, but from the online and
(01:06:10):
the uh, whatever their cashstuff is, because it I mean gta
5 online makes just stupidamounts of money yeah, I could
definitely see this happeningfor sure.
Brandon Hurles (01:06:19):
Um, yeah, I mean
, it makes sense to me because
we were just talking before thepodcast.
There's a lot of people that,uh, that don't even play the
single player mode in games likecall of duty, for instance.
They don't even play thecampaign, they just go straight
to multiplayer.
Uh, same for gta.
So I could definitely see thishappening.
Makes total sense to me.
(01:06:40):
So, um, yeah, I guess we'll.
We'll see what happens.
But I mean the hundred dollarprice tag, though, like that
whole ordeal.
They, if anybody can get awaywith it, it's them, because it's
yeah, but that's just sell, butit's gonna set a new standard
for games that have no business.
Mark Trobough (01:07:01):
Screen link.
Yeah, I have no idea what'sgoing on right now, I'm just
being stupid.
Do you have your Bluetooth on?
No, I don't.
Brandon Hurles (01:07:09):
Oh, you're
working again.
There we go.
Mark Trobough (01:07:13):
I'll see how long
it works for, alright.
I'll just open up more stuff onmy desktop.
Brandon Hurles (01:07:20):
You have too
many programs running in the
background.
Mark Trobough (01:07:22):
I have no
programs running in the
background.
Elgato is eating up like 80% ofmy PC right now.
Why are you using Elgato?
That's what my camera's pluggedinto.
That's how it's connected to myPC.
That's how I connect the camera.
Gotcha, that might be theproblem right there but there's
(01:07:43):
no other option other than that, other than my camera doesn't
work without it, because I needit needs to turn a hdmi into a
yeah, yeah, that probably is aproblem, I'm sure anyway what we
got only only on restream.
Is it a problem?
It works fine everywhere else,alright.
Well, back to OBS next week.
My bad, I like Elgato, it justdoesn't want to work.
(01:08:05):
Alright, did you want to talkabout the 5090 and the 5080?
Not surprisingly, selling out, boy, do I?
100% these are like botted byscalpers.
Brandon Hurles (01:08:22):
Alright, let me
tell you this.
Okay, I'll give you the fullstory here.
All right, so wake up at 5 30in the morning, I drive down the
micro center.
It's about an hour away.
So it's like.
At first I was like maybe I cango there and just try to grab
it in the store.
Holy shit, there were about 50tents set up of people camping
(01:08:47):
outside waiting for it.
So I didn't even stop, wentright back home, drove an hour
for nothing.
So I got back and there wasstill plenty enough time.
They were going on sale.
At 9 am I had all my stuffpulled up my tablet, my laptop,
my computer and my phone.
Right, yeah, refresh, I swearto God.
(01:09:10):
The second it turned I wasstaring at the clock.
The second it turned, 9 o'clock, sold out, absolutely
impossible.
So people were saying it waslike a paper, was like a paper
drop I think that's what they'recalling it like a.
Uh, it wasn't like a, it wasn't.
It really didn't get released.
It was like a.
So either a, the, the.
(01:09:31):
Somehow the bots immediatelybought it before it's even
available for sale, beforeanybody could even get it,
because I'm telling youimmediately, it was gone, like
there wasn't even enough time tofill out the information to buy
it.
Like you couldn't even click onit, it was already sold out.
The second it turned they wereactually selling yeah, so people
(01:09:54):
were saying it's called like apaper drop or something or a I
forget what people are titlingit and like some of the pc
groups, but where, like theydrop, like essentially none of
them, so it's like like might aswell have not even came out.
Yeah, yeah, might as well noteven came out because because
they're not there, there's nostock to sell.
(01:10:16):
So I it.
So it's the craziest thing I'veever seen.
I mean, I've gone through thePS5, the Series X and all that
stuff with all the launches forall those things.
As hard as it was for people toget in to get those things, I
never had any problems gettingany of that stuff, so it was
fine for me.
But as far as the online storeand I had every store up on
(01:10:40):
multiple devices everything wasinstantly gone.
There wasn't even a chance totry to buy it.
Like you couldn't even try, solike it was just it.
It was crazy.
I mean, the only people thatwould have got it are and
apparently, from what I've beentold, I know somebody that was
(01:11:00):
there waiting in line at microcenter they only got 550, 90s
and something like 150, 50, 80s.
So I obviously nine out of tenpeople there were for for the 50
90s, so like a couple of peoplegot them and micro center did
not carry the Founders editionsso you could not get the
(01:11:22):
Founders editions at this MicroCenter, so it was just the
partner cards.
It was five of them, five cards.
Mark Trobough (01:11:30):
It's like the
first five people in line got
them.
That's it.
Brandon Hurles (01:11:33):
Yeah, I mean
just absolute insanity.
Never seen anything like thisin my life.
Like this is crazy.
I've seen tons of lines ofpeople camping out for stuff.
I did it back in the day.
I've seen you know the crazylaunches where it was really
hard to get for stuff.
But I got put in a queueimmediately on Newegg for the
(01:11:56):
$50.90.
Now Best Buy it was justimmediately gone.
Like I said there was no, youcouldn't buy it.
Now best buy it was justimmediately immediately gone.
Like I said there was no, youcouldn't buy it at all.
Mark Trobough (01:12:02):
It was just
immediately gone, sold out,
every single one of them fromthe founder's edition to every
partner card immediately soldout so once you can, you can
spend a few thousand dollars ifyou want to try to bid on one on
ebay yeah, screw that I want anew egg.
Brandon Hurles (01:12:18):
I got put into a
queue and it queued me in twice
and then queued me.
It kept kicking me out, queuedme in again, sold out.
Mark Trobough (01:12:28):
That's how that
went so you're pretty much stuck
with.
The few that got them are justscalping them like yeah, of
course somebody is turning aprofit on these look at these
prices.
Brandon Hurles (01:12:40):
Look, it's crazy
.
Go to sold listings, though.
Go to sold listings, because itjust you gotta do it over on
the left hand side.
I don't know a whole lot aboutit.
Go to the left Over.
Mark Trobough (01:12:58):
Down, down, down,
down, down Is it all the way at
the bottom.
Brandon Hurles (01:13:04):
Yeah, right
there.
Sold items the check market.
Mark Trobough (01:13:10):
Oh, there it is.
Look at this Somebody spent$7,000.
$4,000.
Brandon Hurles (01:13:17):
They just have a
screenshot that's on a partner
card too.
Mark Trobough (01:13:20):
Yeah, yeah, since
you look at around five, you
know four to $5,000, maybe somesome 30.
Brandon Hurles (01:13:24):
Oh, there's an F
E three 200, another F E.
Mark Trobough (01:13:29):
Oh, yeah,
somebody is is making bank.
Brandon Hurles (01:13:33):
Crazy.
Mark Trobough (01:13:34):
That almost feels
fake $4.
Brandon Hurles (01:13:37):
A 50, 90 feels
fake $4?
A 5090 sold for $2,100?
How'd they make any money?
After fees it's already a$2,000 car.
Mark Trobough (01:13:45):
I mean it's from
Germany, so I don't know.
Maybe it's different pricing indifferent ranges.
I have no idea.
This is eBay, so you'reassuming this is a 5090.
Brandon Hurles (01:13:56):
Yeah.
Mark Trobough (01:14:00):
I wouldn't be
surprised if some of these are
people are getting scammed likebad well, there's a bunch of
fake listings up.
Brandon Hurles (01:14:05):
Have you seen
the fake listings?
I'm sure I'm sure I ran into afew.
Yeah, so like they're purposelyfake to fight bots off, so like
, if you click on the listingit'll say read description and
listing and it says you'll besent a piece of paper that shows
a 1590 on it.
Mark Trobough (01:14:25):
Oh yeah, people
do that intentionally just to
make money off bots.
Brandon Hurles (01:14:27):
Yeah, to make
money off bots.
It's pretty funny, yeah.
Oh my God, I'm still furious.
I've still been like allthroughout the day, even today,
like refreshing, looking to seeif there'd be a random drop or
something and nothing happens, because there was like a one
(01:14:48):
random extra drop yesterday.
It was gone, like a secondapparently, and I completely
missed getting the tweet for it.
I don't know.
They said there was only acouple.
There's something like five orsix of them that sold, and that
was it.
So it's like you're fightingagainst millions of people that
want these um and probablymillions of bots as well yeah, I
mean, that's the biggest thingthe bots.
That's that's what you'refighting against and that's it's
(01:15:09):
absolutely impossible to fightagainst bots, I mean when
something is literally sold outwithin the second of refreshing
the page, right at the nineo'clock.
That's ridiculous.
And every single card is soldout, not just one, every card I
don't think nvidia cares,because they're making money.
They don't care because itstill gets sold, so they still
(01:15:30):
make their money.
They don't care.
Mark Trobough (01:15:32):
Whatever happens
in the aftermarket is not of
their concern they don't care,so so there's no incentive to
stop selling them online tofight, because the only real way
to fight this is to either makethe buying process extremely
complicated to where most botscan't do it or you have to
really have to be thatcomplicated.
Brandon Hurles (01:15:53):
There's ways to
get around this, like there's
they don't care though there'scompanies that have implemented
ways to get around with the bots, like Ticketmaster People that
were selling with Ticketmaster.
They've gotten around with botsbuying up all the Taylor Swift
tickets and stuff like that.
So I mean, there's ways to doit, but I think Vidya just
doesn't care and, to be honestwith you, I think they're a bit
of a slimy company.
(01:16:14):
Sure, they make good products, but I think their tactics are a
bit slimy, because it's like howmany Founders Editions did you
even actually make?
Because after that firstinitial point of being able to
get a Founders Edition right atlaunch, you can never get one
again.
They don't keep reproducingFounders Editions.
Mark Trobough (01:16:33):
What's the
purpose of a Founders Edition
really?
Brandon Hurles (01:16:36):
It's their base,
it's their flagship model,
right?
It's their flagship model, right, I guess, their flagship
sleek model.
This is what they personallydesigned in-house 100.
Mark Trobough (01:16:47):
They don't.
They just let their partnersmake it, they just develop it
and then they don't.
Brandon Hurles (01:16:51):
They probably
don't buy, they do a couple of
the founders editions, just acouple because there's no profit
in it.
Mark Trobough (01:16:56):
It's easier.
That's why founders editionsare the most sought after
because there's so few of them Ifeel like eventually, you're
just gonna, they're gonna, stopmaking it, because what's the
money when we can just outsourceit and just have them up front,
all the costs for themanufacturing?
Brandon Hurles (01:17:09):
we can just, you
know, make money on the back
end yeah, and then the otherthing is the founders editions
are always cheaper, right, likethey're at the base msrp, when
the partner.
Some of them go up to $2,800.
I don't know if you've lookedat the prices of all the partner
cards.
Mark Trobough (01:17:22):
I'm never going
to get a 5090, a 6090.
Brandon Hurles (01:17:26):
Let me see if I
can pull up.
I'll pull this up real quickand show you some of the prices
for some of the partner cards.
It's pretty crazy stuff.
Let's see Screen share.
He's almost got it.
(01:17:53):
Yeah, all right.
So some of these partner cardprices $2,800.
This Asus ROG Astral, they'reall above $2,800.
This Asus ROG Astral, they'reall above $2,000.
There's only one partner card, asus, that's the same price as
the Founders Edition and they'restill all sold out.
It doesn't matter if it was$4,000.
(01:18:13):
It'd be sold out.
Mark Trobough (01:18:16):
That's always
some fun stuff.
Before we go, because I have to, I unfortunately have to get
out of here a little early.
Spider-man 2, having mixedreviews on PC.
Did you ever play this game?
What is it?
Spider-man 2.
Brandon Hurles (01:18:37):
Oh, I played it
on PS5.
Yeah, I played the PC version.
What did you feel of the game?
I thought it was good.
It was my least favorite of thethree Miles Morales is my
favorite, but it was stillreally good, hello.
Mark Trobough (01:18:54):
Yeah, sorry, I
was sending a message real quick
.
Oh you're good.
No, because apparently it'ssitting at what send?
A message real quick oh, you'regood?
No, because apparently it'ssitting at what it's been right
around a 45% with over 1600views on Steam.
It's not good.
Apparently, the main issue is,like every other PlayStation
port out there you know glitches, crashes, performance issues
(01:19:15):
like it just doesn't Sony.
PC games man, let me tell youthey, for whatever reason, just
port like the, the.
They just have, you know, theworst product they're like oh,
it's good enough.
Doing course is not goodbecause it's like every other
one is good like I I don't knowwho just decides like it's a
(01:19:36):
buggy, broken mess, it doesn'twork.
Oh, we're still gonna releaseit, we don't care, not not take
a little extra time to make sureit actually works.
Brandon Hurles (01:19:44):
So when you
spend 60 70 on a game, you
actually can play the damn gamethis is why I'm very much okay
with playing sony first partygames on the ps5 and just avoid
the very least, you have to waitlike a year to get on pc, or
because it's gonna be well firstof all, yeah, you gotta wait a
year and then it might be abuggy mess like I'll just play
it on ps5.
Mark Trobough (01:20:02):
Screw that well
you like you, give it like a
year plus.
Eventually it's playable on pc,just not when it first launches
on pc.
Brandon Hurles (01:20:08):
That's, that's
the problem but I I mean like at
that point, like the game isold news to me, you know what I
mean.
Like it's kind of just old newsA lot, a hundred percent.
Mark Trobough (01:20:16):
A lot of these
people already have it on
PlayStation and they just wenton PC, probably to mod the game
or do other stuff, or theywanted to be able to play it at
a higher fidelity.
Brandon Hurles (01:20:27):
Yeah, it's
unfortunate.
Mark Trobough (01:20:29):
Why else gets
elevated on PC if you're not
going to mod it?
Brandon Hurles (01:20:33):
Yeah, no, I,
that's fair, you know a hundred
percent.
There's going to be a fan modthat fixes this game before
there's an official patch for it.
They're going to spider inthere.
Mark Trobough (01:20:48):
You know they are
, you can get they, they, they
model all sorts of fun stuff.
Brandon Hurles (01:20:54):
Oh, man.
Well, do you have anything else, Mark, for this week?
I know we got cut short becauseyou got some fancy business you
got to go to.
You got a date tonight.
Mark Trobough (01:21:05):
Yeah, you wish.
Yeah, let me come pick you upin like 20 hours as I drive over
there.
Yeah, no, I'm good.

play Smash, but I know you saidyou wanted to play Multiverse.
Brandon Hurles (01:21:45):
The only reason
I brought that up is because
it's about to be shut down.
That's the only reason Ibrought it up.
