Game Junction (00:18):
Hello, what's up
muffins?
Yeah, we got a good bit of newshere this week.
I did want to mention off thetop to definitely give a follow
on social media.
We are both on all platformspretty much, so you can find us
kind of all over Facebook,YouTube, Twitch.
Matthew Longest (00:40):
I'm in the Game
Junction Lounge.
Game Junction (00:43):
Yeah, in the Game
Junction Lounge on Facebook.
In the Game Junction Lounge onFacebook, you can find Matt
there hanging out making someposts and stuff, and also for
any of our live viewers.
I don't know, matt, if you'restreaming this, are you
streaming this too?
Matthew Longest (00:56):
Yes, you're
multi-streaming.
Game Junction (00:58):
Okay, we are
doing the Immersion Fest 2025.
So we're running the gametournaments there and we got we
talked about it a little bit inthe stream that we did and we
both put some posts out andstuff about it.
But we're playing street people, playing Street Fighter 6,
(01:20):
tekken, 8 college football, 26Super Sash Bros, ultimate, mario
Kart World and Tech and 8College.
Matthew Longest (01:25):
Football 26
Super.
Game Junction (01:26):
Sash Bros,
ultimate Mario Kart World and
Mario Party Jamboree and that'swith the switch to mode there
and what's up?
Hey, 42 viewers looks likemaybe a total of that.
Cool, that's a quick jump upthere, uh.
(01:46):
But yeah, we, uh, we're goingto be doing that.
It's going to be circle littleohio kind of the middle of
nowhere town, so it's pretty, pretty big deal for us.
You know, have a kind of anevent going on and, uh, to
anyone that might have anyquestions, yes, don't have any
hair.
Pretty much much it's all gone.
First feature of that, but Idid want to shout that out and
(02:11):
sorry for our audio listeners,if you pop over to the video on
any of the platforms, you cansee basically no hair.
All right, so we'll jump intothe news that we got this week.
So this is an interesting one.
I know I'm pretty sure youdon't play the Pokemon, tcg,
pocket right At all.
Okay, so this is an interestingone.
(02:34):
They originally had basicallythis new set.
Just like traditional cards, like I don't know how to explain
it Like traditional packs andstuff come out the different
series and stuff.
This new series just came outand they had two cards that came
out that had plagiarizedartwork that was fan art somehow
(02:57):
, and this also happened in somegames, like within the past
month.
Somehow it's happening.
I don't know if it's this AIstuff that's pulling stuff in.
I don't know what's going onexactly, but they had
plagiarized artwork for both ofthese cards.
So while people were still ableto pull these cards, it said
(03:19):
art coming soon.
My friend just pulled one ofthese.
These are pretty rare cards,it's hard to pull.
The other day he send it to me.
I'll see if I can pull it upreal quick what he sent me
muffins the same bye cats going, bye, bye.
Matthew Longest (03:32):
Everyone say
bye, muffins, bye muffins.
Game Junction (03:36):
This is what it
looks like new art coming soon.
If you pulled it before, likein the middle of the plagiarized
artwork, they removed it andthen you had, like no art there
for the card.
So it's something that couldonly happen in, you know,
digital trading card game.
But, yeah, very interesting.
I think these arts are terrible.
Matthew Longest (03:57):
They look like
super squished and can we pull
it up for our YouTube audience?
Game Junction (04:02):
yeah, I'm
actually I'm saving it now to
pull up, but they look pretty.
Can we pull it up for ourYouTube audience?
Yeah, I'm actually saving itnow to pull up, but they look
pretty awful.
This should be coming up hereTo me and a lot of other people.
They just look very squished.
Lugia does not look like Lugiaat all to me.
(04:24):
I don't know what the big oldchest is, I don't know what's
going on there exactly, but uh,could be better.
I could say that looks likethey.
They were definitely rushed onthis a little bit in charge of
this?
Matthew Longest (04:36):
uh, they're.
They might be getting fired forripping this, ripping off the
fan art.
They gotta at least ask.
I mean, if the fan, if theyasked the fan, they would
probably be all into it likeheck, yeah, put me in the game,
or, yeah, put me on a card andstuff.
They'd probably be happy aboutit.
But it sounds like they didn'task them, does that seem?
Game Junction (04:56):
like yeah, so,
yeah, so apparently what was
said, uh, to the community.
Thank you for your continuedsupport and passion for some PR
talk here.
The Pokemon Company wrote.
We want to share an importantupdate regarding the upcoming
expansion.
As comes to our attention, there has been a production
issue regarding the illustrationof Ho-Oh featured in the
immersive card artwork for Ho-OhEX 3-Star and Lugia EX 3-Star.
(05:20):
After our internal review, wediscovered that the card
production team providedincorrect materials as official
documents to the AustraliaCommission to create these cards
.
As a result, both cards havebeen replaced with a temporary
placeholder that the team isactively working to replace with
new artwork as soon as it'sready.
We're also conducting a broaderinvestigation to ensure no
(05:41):
similar issues exist elsewherein the game.
Matthew Longest (05:45):
I don't.
Game Junction (05:46):
Straight up.
There's images of what itlooked like before and it's
straight up from fan art.
I can pull up an example herereal quick.
But we did talk about this.
I forget what episode Screenshare, I don't know.
Image pulled up for videowatchers here, but on the right
(06:11):
is the the fan design yeah left.
You can see it's pulled prettymuch straight from that.
I mean, there's, you know, really any changes to it?
I'm not you know, so I don'tknow.
Interesting, I just think it'scrazy that they put you know you
can pull these with nothingthere.
That's hilarious.
My friend literally sent it tome so I knew I saw it on x and
(06:35):
then he pulled it and I was like, oh cool, uh.
But uh, yeah, there's that, soyou're playing that I like I for
playing here only game I playevery single day pull my, pull
my packs.
You know, when you can't findreal packs, it's uh, I guess it
scratches the itch, uh.
But next we got nintendoannounces mario claymation show.
(06:56):
As part of a new kid themed mymario product line, plush or
push, sorry.
Nintendo announced new creationmario show.
It sets premiere on youtube theseries, which will feature
kid-friendly animated episodesjust one minute length.
Launch alongside a major newpush by nintendo for the kids
product market with a range oftoys, picture books and more
(07:18):
released under the my mariobanner.
Matthew Longest (07:21):
So I don't know
, bro, I might have to buy all
these toys banner.
Game Junction (07:27):
So I don't know,
bro, I might have to buy all
these toys.
I'm not gonna lie, it is kindof cool, but it is uh also like
uh very clearly, you know, kindof for babies pretty much.
Yeah, you got the the little uhoutfit there and yeah, I mean,
look look at the Mario facethere, what is?
Matthew Longest (07:44):
that I like
this.
Game Junction (07:48):
I want that to
slide from my background.
So this is an actual Amiibostand that works.
Oh, If you read in the article, yeah, if you read in the
article.
Nintendo has announced thatthese figures can be used as
their appropriate Amiibo andcompatible games.
Adding to their worth, though, you'll need to green shell out
$135 for the set and also, atleast until next year, be in the
(08:09):
position to buy it from Japan,so you have to import it.
So it's obviously going to beprobably at least $200.
Matthew Longest (08:16):
Never mind.
Game Junction (08:18):
But it's very
cool and it's like the wooden
block kind of sets, but it hasan actual Amiibo card in it
somewhere.
Uh, so that's pretty, that'spretty neat um of amiibo um.
I wanted to not not need enoughto shell out that kind of money
for it, but it's cool yeah, andimport it.
Matthew Longest (08:36):
So walmart, um,
for the new donkey kong bonanza
, someone on walmart so it's notofficial made carbs, like they
normally do, of Amiibos forevery single Donkey Kong Amiibo
that has ever existed and I havethem right here in my hand and
basically you can use thisinstead of an Amiibo in the
(08:59):
Donkey Kong game or any gamethat uses Donkey Kong.
You even have a Diddy Kong oneand stuff, but basically they're
the same size.
They're the same size as aswitch to cartridge right here.
Game Junction (09:12):
These are all the
zelda cards you have every
single zelda one yeah, everysingle one, except the two tiers
of the kingdom ones, because Ihad these from breath of wild,
but obviously these all work in.
Uh, so here's the kingdom.
But I need to get that becausewe were talking about how I
don't want to open up my uh, youcannot see it because behind
(09:34):
that box, yeah, yeah, I have itright here yeah, I was like it's
pretty, I don't want to open itup.
Yeah, and it was 30 dollars openit up, yeah and it was 30.
It's crazy, I think, all theseamoebas I remember right were 10
to 15 for all did you get?
Matthew Longest (09:52):
yours on etsy
too.
Game Junction (09:53):
no, I got mine
off walmartcom oh, so I think it
was a third party seller onwalmart.
Yeah yeah, 100, that's prettycool though so how many?
Matthew Longest (10:02):
are there I was
expecting full size cards.
Let's see, including the brandnew bonanza one um.
We got one now you don't wantfull size cars.
Game Junction (10:12):
If you're
scanning them all the time,
though, that's the thing that Iget, what you're saying, but
like with these, to be able toswipe them real quick because,
like I don't know, have youplayed breath of the wild or
tears of the kingdom?
Yeah, so you can get your likedaily items and stuff like
exclusive items you only getfrom the amiibo.
So I would scan these likeevery single day up until pretty
(10:33):
much when can you tell themabout this?
Yeah, I gave it to you.
Matthew Longest (10:40):
Yeah,
interesting a game traveler game
card case and tell them how yougot it yeah, so I uh.
Game Junction (10:47):
They popped up
for sale.
They're 15, I think, msrp itpopped up.
Yeah, I can't remember seven, eight bucks, something like that
, and I ordered one and theygave me eight of them, so I was
like, give me one of that.
Yeah, I was like that's prettycool, man.
Uh, I haven't opened up to useit yet because I have a uh.
(11:08):
Third, I bought it from etsy.
It's a mario hold on, let mesee if I can grab it real quick
all right.
Well, I'm going to see if theit's too far back there, but I
have a unofficial case I wasusing for cards that holds like
10, 12.
Oh dude.
That one holds a whole.
Matthew Longest (11:32):
Amiibo's not
quite the right size man.
Game Junction (11:35):
It's pretty cool.
It's cool it works for Switch 1, switch 2.
I thought it was neat and youlove Mario, so I appreciate it,
I'm going to put some Ring Fitin there right now.
Matthew Longest (11:44):
I'm'm gonna put
some ring fit.
Game Junction (11:46):
Got some more
stuff for you too, hopefully
coming soon.
I had to oh my goodness.
Took over nine boxes and a totetoday the storage unit, so I
gotta at some point try to gothrough everything.
But I had to move it out fastas you know so.
But yeah, the my mario stuffpretty cool, interesting,
(12:08):
obviously targeted at toddlers.
They got a board book, rattlesand items of baby and toddler
clothing, including t-shirts ofmario.
He said it's pretty uhinteresting.
Gotta get the kiddos young,right.
So that's pretty interesting, got to get to kiddos young right
.
(12:30):
Yes, I think that's our goalthere.
We got next, xbox stopsdevelopment on the game
Contraband after the initial E3announcements, so you can go
back and look at the trailer ofthis.
We had talked about this oneother time, but it was
originally announced in 2021from Avalanche Studios same
studio that does the Just Causeseries but after four years of
(12:52):
radio silence, sources tellBloomberg News that they said
over the past several years, avalanche Studios group and Xbox
Game Studios Publishing havecollaborated on Contraband.
Active development has nowstopped while we evaluate the
project's future.
We're thankful for theexcitement we've seen from the
community since we announced andwe'll give an update on what's
(13:12):
next as soon as we can.
But basically this is comingalong this side of all the xbox
layoffs and the stuff that'shappened.
Uh, they've been canceling awhole bunch of a whole bunch of
different games and stuff likethat.
It looks like 9,100 jobs,unlimited Microsoft-wide,
including hundreds in gaming.
(13:33):
In the aftermath, the games, including Everwild and Perfect
Dark, had been canceled, whichwere the two that I was pretty
bummed out about.
I would have loved to have seenthe new Perfect Dark.
It was in development for, ohmy goodness, well over a decade.
This game had been indevelopment I think like 12
years, 13 years, something likethat Long time.
(13:54):
Haven't had one since 64.
And then Everwild was the nextrare game that was also supposed
to be coming and we haven'tseen anything from them since.
Sea of Th of thieves, whichcame out a long time ago at this
point, and that's all they'vesupported and all they've done
is see if thieves updates anddlc and and all that stuff.
So unfortunate, but uh, can'tsay I had any sort of attachment
(14:20):
.
It was a new, new ip, new game,uh, but have you played any of
the just cuz games I got?
Matthew Longest (14:28):
the collector's
edition for three and I like
that one quite a bit, prettymuch like, uh, I actually bought
it for playstation 3 the otherday because I wanted to try
getting into it, but I haven'tyet yet.
Game Junction (14:43):
It's like Saints
Row and GTA essentially, and
sort of a mix of some Unchartedthere, but it's more like Saints
Row, I guess.
But yeah, it's pretty much likethose type of games, but
they're fun.
Also, I guess maybe more FarCry, if you will I don't know
(15:06):
how to explain it Very FarCry-ish too.
I could say that, yeah, it'skind of like open world stuff
like that.
I guess a good, healthy mix ofGTA and Far Cry, I guess is a
better way to put it.
But they're fun.
They're pretty fun.
Um 2 was pretty buggy, had alot of bugginess, but so did
(15:31):
some of those other open worldgames.
So yeah, uh what's this?
Matthew Longest (15:39):
Guitar Hero yes
.
Game Junction (15:43):
So some of the
people that worked on Guitar
Hero reestablished the RedOctane Games brand via a new
studio set to launch a freshGuitar Hero style title.
If the name Red Octane soundsfamiliar, that's because it was
a studio that partnered withHarmonix to create Guitar Hero
(16:05):
back in the early 2000s.
Now this new incarnation of RedOctane is established as a part
of the Embracer group and willbe led by Simon Abajar, who
worked as a production directoron various Guitar Hero titles
during the franchise's Neversoftheyday, before later moving on
to Victorious Visions andBlizzard.
(16:25):
So it says this game won't beguitar hero, dj hero, guitar
freaks or rock band Tease in astatement.
This is something new, a rhythmgame built with love by people
who care, with the community atits core.
In this fast changing modernworld we live in, we firmly
believe the expert here is acommunity and a new generation
(16:47):
of development talent the folksthat have kept the lights on
these last few years.
So I don't know what kind ofrhythm game it's going to be,
but something like that.
It's kind of a.
I would love to see Guitar Herorock band kind of make a return
.
I got a, a guitar from PDP.
(17:09):
Uh, that's a guitar hero guitar, but it's for it's kind of
silly.
It's for Fortnite festivalwhere it has a guitar mode in it
.
Matthew Longest (17:21):
And.
Game Junction (17:21):
I've only played
it once cause I don't really
care about Fortnite much, butFortnite has got these weird
different modes in it, like theygot the Lego Fortnite and they
got the Guitar Hero mode in itwhere you can use the guitar for
it.
But also it'll work for PC forlike fan games and stuff like
there's a bunch of Guitar Herofan games out there, but it
(17:43):
would be cool to see like anactual official return of
something with the Guitar Herostyle on like modern platforms.
Matthew Longest (17:52):
Do you remember
rocket jump on youtube?
and whenever I hear about, um,guitar hero and stuff.
He had a lot of world records,um, and he just made a lot of
funny uh youtube videos.
Um, one of them, one of themost notable ones, is, you know,
(18:12):
rocket jumping in games whereyou shoot the ground and it
blasts you up in the air.
And, um, they jump over anenemy base and shoot it at the
ground.
I think he blows up orsomething, but it was a big deal
it made it like so is it allkey and peel stuff?
Game Junction (18:28):
All Key and Peele
stuff?
Hmm, you just type in came upMexican standoff Keeps pulling
up With Freddie Wong.
Matthew Longest (18:40):
Rocket Jump was
out of space and um yeah.
Game Junction (18:45):
There's one of
them where he says I call upon
the ancients.
Matthew Longest (18:49):
Anyways, shout
out to RocketJump.
I don't think they makeanything anymore, but Freddie
Wong is funny.
Game Junction (18:58):
Last thing was
five months ago.
Interesting.
Matthew Longest (19:01):
Oh, I didn't
even know the post five
subscribers.
Game Junction (19:05):
Yeah, it looks
like.
Oh yeah, five months ago, andthen six years ago.
Holy crap, yeah, there you goFive months, then six years ago.
Matthew Longest (19:10):
Holy crap, yeah
, there you go.
Game Junction (19:13):
You left.
He's gotta be getting someresiduals from that Going on
there, but that's oh, it's great, that's pretty cool.
Yeah, that many subscribers, that's crazy, but yeah, it'd be
cool to see.
You know there's some likerhythm games still going on.
You know the Tycho, thedrumming.
Matthew Longest (19:33):
Yeah.
Game Junction (19:34):
Yeah.
So like I really like that Markreally liked that too Like
Japanese songs and stuff likethat.
Matthew Longest (19:40):
Like Japanese
drum.
Bring back the Donkey Kongbongos.
Game Junction (19:45):
Donkey Konga.
Yeah, yeah, those bongos, manStill got mine somewhere.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was bongos, man Still got mine somewhere,
yeah.
And then there's like what isit?
What are the ones?
The Maracas, what's that seriescalled Samba de Amigo?
Have you ever played any?
Matthew Longest (20:02):
of those games.
Game Junction (20:04):
Yeah, they had a
Wii game, dreamcast.
It was a Sega property, soDreamcast is where it started,
but yeah, it would be cool tosee.
See, I don't know what they'retalking about exactly, but I
guess we'll see something rhythmrelated.
I don't know story mode.
Matthew Longest (20:21):
I'm thinking of
an impossible game where you
gotta jump over things with thebeat, but with the guitar I
don't know yeah, what's up?
Game Junction (20:33):
I, I love veeps
vr.
Sorry, I did not see thecomment.
Sorry, I got it working on acouple screens here.
I call him light, call him whatlight, light his name.
Matthew Longest (20:47):
yeah, discord,
he's Night, but then he told me,
because my editor's name isNightmare, that gets confusing,
so I'll call him Light.
Game Junction (20:58):
So hey, Light,
what's up?
Yo, what's up, Light, All right, All right.
Next we got Rod Fergusondeparts Blizzard and he was
helming over the Diablofranchise.
After five years of drivingDiablo franchise forward with
four big launches, time for meto step away from Blizzard,
(21:18):
Microsoft sword in hand, and seewhat's next.
I'm going to pull up the fullthing on X here and see what's
next.
The teams are set up forsuccess with an exciting slate
of releases ahead.
I'm incredibly proud of what webuilt together.
I'm looking forward to whatcomes next for Diablo and for me
.
That's crazy.
(21:39):
He did a launch for all fourDiablos.
Matthew Longest (21:41):
Wow, hopefully
they can keep the support, or
it's just four big launches.
Game Junction (21:46):
Yeah, that's
crazy.
I think that's including Diabloimmortal for mobile, which is
terrible, but uh, maybe not thefirst one, but yeah that's, uh,
that's, that's a pretty crazy.
I mean big franchise, longrunning franchise, obviously you
know.
So, yeah, before was kind of amess with launch.
(22:07):
Diablo immortal was terrible.
Diablo 3 was wasn'tablo 3 wasnot good until the end of the
DLC, but still do have some lovefor the Diablo franchise and
what's been done there.
Diablo 2, I think, wasfantastic.
Have you played any of thosegames?
Matthew Longest (22:26):
My friends are
crazy about them.
No, I haven't really played.
You're going to learn that Idon't play anything.
I'm a loser.
He's trying his best not tolaugh right now.
Guys, he's trying his best notto laugh at me, right now,
you're right.
Game Junction (22:44):
This is funny
because we have some history
here.
But Outer Ring Night, rain dataminers say they've uncovered an
entirely new ultra hard gamemode.
I thought, with this bro harshstream, with this horrible, we
couldn't, we couldn't doanything.
There's three of us and wecouldn't do nothing.
(23:05):
Nothing, I mean, we were so badat the game, it was hard four
hours to beat the first day.
I don't, oh my gosh somethinglike that, and I'm like I
watched some of these peopleplay the game and stuff and like
I spent a good bit of time withit after that and I still I was
not, and I wasn't any betterthan when we played.
I really was not, uh, but Iknow some people that are still
(23:29):
obsessed with this and obviouslyit's not that old of a game.
Gosh, what was that?
Matthew Longest (23:35):
that was only
like what maybe like two months
ago that was like the weekbefore the switch launch first
week of June or something yeah, that sounds right.
Game Junction (23:48):
Yeah, I think
that was the game we played
right before the switch launch.
I think you're right, yeah, so,uh, looks like there are other
major major changes in deep ofnight.
Some bosses are magmafied, which is just what it sounds
like.
They're covered in magma.
It probably makes them strongerand you just certainly don't
(24:08):
want to touch them.
There are new weapon effectsand stronger weapons that come
with better buffs, but also somedrawbacks.
Additionally, players will getaccess to three more relic slots
on top of the existing three.
The three new slots only workin Deep of Night, which I don't
think we even got there.
Deep of Night sounds like ahard mode.
(24:33):
Yeah, it is just through datamining, but this is coming from.
Where was the?
I saw the name for it.
I thought the data mine leaker, maybe not.
Maybe it's not on here, butyeah, there's some stuff in
reddit.
It's a little hard to pull up,uh, visually here, but yes, some
(24:58):
stuff there.
Um, and yeah, what do you thinkabout the game, though, even
though it was hard as crap?
Matthew Longest (25:05):
I've sold five
million copies since july.
Game Junction (25:08):
Five million
copies?
Matthew Longest (25:10):
I don't think
I've ever played a game that
hard.
It doesn't help, though, really.
Here's what's crazy about that.
Game Junction (25:17):
I don't even
think it's hard as the actual
Souls like Dark Souls 2.
Matthew Longest (25:26):
I believe that
could be harder, sure, oh my god
, night Rain.
I actually once we beat thefirst day and getting the hang
of it, I was actually having fun.
Yeah, I thought it was fun.
Game Junction (25:40):
Like I said, I
kept playing it for a little bit
there and I really enjoyed it.
But it is very hard and I doget frustrated and I don't
really like to get frustratedgames too much, you know anymore
especially uh, but you know, Idon't know, I got frustrated in
Mario Kart trying to get some ofthe stickers and stuff too.
Matthew Longest (26:01):
So it's all
right, it was kind of just hard
to grab some of those in this.
Game Junction (26:06):
The city level Me
and Mark, I told you right.
The city level me and Mark, Itold you right.
A whole four-hour stream to getall what is it?
10 or 12 of those stickers.
Matthew Longest (26:14):
Trying to turn
around in Mario Kart can be
annoying because you're notdesigned to turn around.
Game Junction (26:19):
Crazy jumps
against walls to get to these
stickers.
I'm like this is crazy, like youwouldn't even know to see these
stickers.
One of them we had to look upand for that of them we had to
look up and, uh, for that thatlevel we had to look up a couple
for, like, prior streams, butfor that level was like ended up
being the easiest one to get.
(26:40):
It was just like on the dog ofthe level, like just you just
drive over it.
It was the one we couldn't find.
It's crazy.
Oh, good times there, man, somegood times with some of those
streams on that.
But uh, yeah, so we got thisone.
I totally butchered the link on.
(27:01):
I think I double posted there.
Wait, what happened?
Oh yeah, I don't know whathappened there.
All All right.
So we got reviews are out forMafia.
The Old Country Just kind ofinterested in a little bit.
I think some of the Mafia gamesare pretty fun.
(27:22):
They're all right.
But looks like, according toOpen Critic, which sources in
obviously all the differentreviews across the platform,
across the different websites,it's coming in at right now a 77
for user score and a 71 forcritic score.
(27:45):
It's a little weird because youlook at the top critics here,
you got IGN putting it at an 8,but then Gamerant puts it at a 5
out of 10.
It says Lacky Rizwa, a noveltyof its predecessors.
Mafia.
The Old Country struggles toescape a sense of constant
mediocrity.
What a huge jump in reviews.
(28:07):
Gamespot gave it a 6 out of 10.
Entertainment.
Matthew Longest (28:12):
Geekly gave it
a 3 gave it a 6 out of 10.
Entertainment, geekly, gave ita 3.
Oh, 3 out of 5.
Never mind.
Game Junction (28:16):
That was a
different metric.
Yeah, but then you got likesome gonzo journalists here gave
it a 9 out of 10.
This kind of seems sporadic.
It does here's like a 2 out of5.
It says it fails to make themost of its world's uniqueness,
as evidenced any time you mustleave your vehicle to interact
(28:37):
with it.
Yeah, it does kind of look likeit's a little bit all over.
That's a huge jump with the IGNand the game rant, though
that's a pretty big jump forreview score out of 10.
That's interesting.
Matthew Longest (28:52):
Six out of 10.
That's interesting.
Game Junction (28:53):
Six out of 10,
yeah, ig said conventional but
effective return to the linearand tightly story-driven format
the original mafia and mafia 2and it builds a wonderful eye
and ear for detail.
So what a big difference there.
Interesting, yeah, uh, this wasone.
I mean just because, like kindof the setting and and an error
with the game, I was like thismight be pretty interesting.
(29:15):
But I don't know, man, I'm notsure I like to judge games for
myself.
I don't really trust any of thejournalists, to be honest with
you.
But the user score means moreto me, which is okay 77.
That means it's fine, not likea stellar game, but it's fine.
(29:40):
I'm sure it's got some fun to itand stuff like that.
I might still check it out, maybe at a discount or something
.
I'm not entirely sure that oneyet, but we'll see.
We'll see on that.
This is very interesting.
So we got Nintendo exploring amuch different sort of
(30:04):
controller input.
So I'll pull up the patentimage here that I saved earlier
and you can see there that's, uh, definitely interesting.
This reminds me something morealong the lines of like a labo
thing or something that's what Iwas thinking.
Matthew Longest (30:20):
It's like a one
of the labo fishing.
It's just a fishing rod, that'sall it is.
Might be attachment for the.
Game Junction (30:28):
Switch the
Joy-Con Charge it Charge the.
Matthew Longest (30:32):
Just charge it
by cranking that.
Game Junction (30:36):
I mean, yeah, you
could do.
There's a whole handheld outthere where you play it by being
able to charge it with a crankthe Playdate, that's what it's
called.
Look it up, google it realquick the Playdate, you'll see
what I'm talking about.
But yeah's uh definitelyinteresting, you know.
Yeah, it actually mentions playdate in the article.
Matthew Longest (30:58):
it says, uh, I
did the indian fishing game
could maybe.
Game Junction (31:04):
Yeah, I mean it
could be, it'd be, but why?
Why would you need a patent forit?
There's tons of.
I have a fishing game on theSwitch that has the whole thing
to put the Joy-Con in andeverything.
I don't understand.
It looks just like that.
I don't quite understand.
I feel like it's got to be alittle more in-depth to just be
(31:26):
a fishing thing.
It does say in the article itmentions the crank attach.
You can explore the manypossibilities of crank basic
gameplay, from fishing games toprobably a second thing,
whatever that means.
But uh, yeah, I don't know.
This is the company that made,uh, literally an alarm clock for
(31:47):
100 bucks with a screen.
Matthew Longest (31:49):
So yeah, so
well it's either going to be
like a joy-con attachment or astandalone crank for a fishing
game controller yeah, um, Ireally don't know.
Game Junction (32:04):
I have like few
guesses on the.
The fishing thing doesn'treally make sense to me, just
because they already have.
Matthew Longest (32:12):
What do you I
mean?
Game Junction (32:13):
there's third
parties, that there's like a
bunch of fishing games on theswitch, but I have one
specifically that came boxedwith a thing to put your joy-con
in and that's all.
It looks like you know, crank.
I don't want, like I don'tfeeling, i't know.
Matthew Longest (32:29):
They want to
own the fishing controller.
Game Junction (32:32):
I mean Nintendo
really putting out a fishing
series now?
You know, Mario goes fishing.
Matthew Longest (32:41):
They made the
switch to a mouse.
Now they're going to do this, and they're just going to do
everything.
Dude, you remember the littleGuitar hero attachment you can
have?
For ds yes, they're gonna addthat attachment to the side of a
joy-con also, probably, andjust a whole bunch of side
things yeah and patented maybe, maybe the you know, I mean you
(33:04):
could be right.
Game Junction (33:04):
Yeah, it's
magnetic now, so it's a little
easier to get stuff to attach toit rather than having to slide
it on, if that makes any sense, you know what I mean.
Like to get like a I don't know, maybe get that as like a
little side piece.
Charge the switch up for.
Matthew Longest (33:23):
I don't know,
but we're talking about now.
Three months from now, we'llprobably own one.
Game Junction (33:28):
Or this could be
absolutely nothing and another
patent that they do nothing with, because they've got like a
bajillion patents out therethey've never done anything with
.
So it's hard to say.
But who's Anonymous Koala?
Matthew Longest (33:46):
Hello,
anonymous Koala.
Thank you for being here.
It's like you're anonymousNightcap.
Thank you for being here.
Game Junction (33:54):
It's like you're
anonymous Nightcap.
Thank you for being here.
No, bro, it's saying AnonymousKoala on the Google Drive.
Matthew Longest (34:01):
That's me.
Game Junction (34:03):
That's your name.
Matthew Longest (34:04):
No, mine is
MattLong6, but I assume it's
going to be me.
I am signed in, though.
Is that you clicking around?
Yeah, I'm by Big News, I'm byBig News.
Game Junction (34:15):
All right, yeah,
that's enough.
All right, don't know what thatwas, but yeah.
So next thing we got is theDragX Drive limited time demo is
running this weekend on theSwitch 2, which is a
three-on-three sports game whereI don't know how you explain it
.
You're playing in wheelchairs,right, basically?
Matthew Longest (34:36):
Yeah, it's
wheelchair basketball.
Game Junction (34:41):
Interesting.
Matthew Longest (34:42):
It's going to
use mouse controls and I think
it's going to be fun, but Idon't think it's going to take
off.
It's a gimmick.
Yeah, it's going to besomething, but I don't think
it's going to take off.
It's a gimmick.
Game Junction (34:52):
Yeah, it's going
to be something like ARMS, but
the mouse control thing seems alittle frustrating.
I feel like I can enjoy it acouple of times, but it feels
like I don't know.
I wouldn't want to constantlyplay, at least with my setup.
I don't know.
You know what I mean.
Mouse controls are neat for agimmick, but I wouldn't want to
(35:14):
use, like play, like that.
Matthew Longest (35:16):
I use it on my
mouse pad.
It doesn't feel right, um, oh,it doesn't on the mouse yeah, on
my mouse pad.
Game Junction (35:23):
No, I have to do
it on the desk.
It works better on the desk, you know just my leg.
Then it does a mouse pad, Idon't know why.
Matthew Longest (35:31):
Yeah, but like
on they probably designed it for
shorts, yeah it's good it's gotto be.
Game Junction (35:37):
I mean, I've seen
they've had like uh, footage
out there, people using it likeon their leg and stuff on their
you know clothes.
So I I'm not sure it'll.
It'll be like interesting totry and maybe play a couple
times, but I can't say I'm likenecessarily super excited about
it.
But you know I might again.
(35:59):
It's what a $20 game.
Is that right?
Matthew Longest (36:04):
yes, and it
releases next Thursday.
I believe the demo is thisweekend, so you might want to
look at.
If you want to play it guys, you have to Thursday.
I believe the demo is thisweekend, so you might want to
look at.
If you want to play it guys, you have to have a Nintendo
Online subscription and you haveto make sure that you get on
during the playtest times, because they have listed times
(36:27):
so it's not like all weekend, only certain times a day.
Game Junction (36:32):
Yeah, so it's not
like all weekend, only certain
times a day, yeah.
So yeah, it is a $20 title.
August 14th it comes out, sojust around the corner so, yeah,
if you missed the demo for it,it's literally coming out like
super soon, so you'll be alright.
You know be like a super bigdeal, but yeah, that is the next
I guess title coming fromNintendo, I will grab it.
You know be like a super bigdeal, uh, but yeah, that is the
(36:52):
next I guess title coming fromNintendo, I will grab it.
Maybe the thing is is like thetwo you got to use both of the
joy cons, which is dude, I thinkI'm going to break something on
my, on my, yeah, my desk isn'tnecessarily like you know, may I
don't know, we'll, we'll see,we'll see.
(37:13):
On that one, I might be like atwo-play game or something, I
don't know.
Ten dollars each session, something like that.
We'll, I guess we'll see, butuh, I'll definitely be checking
it out for sure.
Matthew Longest (37:27):
In the chat
someone says they don't have
online.
Um, I think if you've never hadonline before, you can have a
trial.
It's like a 7 day trial orsomething did you have a first
switch too?
I'm just assuming, so look intothat if that's something that
meets your criteria yeah, I'mnot sure.
(37:50):
I can't confirm on that one orjust go to game flip and get it
yeah, one of those websiteswhere you can get those codes
and stuff.
Game Junction (38:02):
Uh, next we got.
I don't entirely buy this, Idon't believe any of these
companies.
But Take-Two says that Bioshock4 won't be canceled they
promise it.
Says that fans may beunderstandably curious about the
fate of the next game in theseries, following leaks that
Bioshock 4 failed an internalreview and Cloud Chamber studio
(38:27):
head Kelly Gilmore wasreportedly ousted by two game 2k
games as a result.
Says, uh, it's going to comeout.
Zelnick told IGN that I can sayhand on heart, without question,
we don't talk about how longour development cycles are.
We've had some ups and downsalong the way.
That doesn't sound good.
That is accurate.
We have had changes in studioleadership.
(38:49):
That said, we have very bigshoes to fill on Bioshock
because the legacy of Ken Levine, the legacy of what has gone
before which has been sosuccessful.
We need to make sure that thisexperience is true to the
Bioshock DNA, on the one hand, and a massive step forward on
the other hand.
That's always challenging.
We think we're up to thechallenge, but it has not been
(39:10):
seamless.
So, more hand that's alwayschallenging.
We think we're up to thechallenge, but it's not been
seamless.
More PR talk on that, but I'dlike to see the game come out.
I like Bioshock games.
I think they're fun, especiallyin 1 and 2.
Matthew Longest (39:23):
Do you think it
will actually come out?
Game Junction (39:27):
I don't know,
honestly, I don't know.
Take 2.
Matthew Longest (39:36):
What's going to
come out first?
Game Junction (39:37):
first half-life 3
or bioshock 4 and bioshock 4
come out first.
I think.
I don't think half-life 3 iscoming out ever.
Matthew Longest (39:45):
I'll be honest
with you I almost said portal 3,
but but they did release thatthey released not official
Portal 3, but they have acommunity-made one that was
approved by the developers andlisted on Steam as a separate
title.
Game Junction (40:05):
That's what it's
called Revolution fan-made mod.
It's a fan made mod for Portal2, which plays.
Matthew Longest (40:13):
It has it's own
Steam page on the Steam store.
Game Junction (40:17):
I'm looking here,
let's see.
I played it.
Community made mod.
Hmm, january 6th 2024, I don'tknow.
I didn't hear about thisinteresting now I want to play
portal yeah, portal portal's fun.
I love portal too.
(40:37):
Really good game.
You ever had the orange boxconsole that had uh, no, so um,
I'm a trophy hunter.
Matthew Longest (40:49):
The orange box
on playstation 3 doesn't have
trophies.
I think it has achievements onxbox though it's so for sure I
wanted to get it on xbox 360,but I decided to buy portal by
itself separately on steam.
And then I had portal 2 andbeat portal 2 before I ever did
anything with portal 1 I havethe orange box on 360 and I know
(41:14):
I'm portal 2 on steam I amwaiting, go ahead uh, no, maybe
not.
Game Junction (41:24):
if I got the, the
orange box came out like on pc
too.
Yeah, maybe it was like arelease, I don't know, I thought
it did.
Matthew Longest (41:34):
It may have
been.
Game Junction (41:38):
But yeah,
Interesting.
Matthew Longest (41:40):
Right now I am
trying.
I went back to my childhoodgames on the PlayStation 3.
I'm trying to 100% all thetrophies in Crazy Taxi Nice.
Game Junction (41:50):
I love Crazy Taxi
.
Nice, I love Crazy Taxi.
But you got to play it onDreamcast.
So I mean sorry, I mean you areright.
Matthew Longest (41:58):
I also played
it on Dreamcast, on my brother's
Dreamcast.
That's where I first started.
I got from Limited Run Gamesback in March.
They're finally shipping it outa key chain of Crazy Taxi.
Game Junction (42:11):
Yeah, I remember
when they did the collection of
that stuff.
Yeah, that was cool.
I consider getting somethingfrom that.
I don't remember what, maybe at-shirt that would look cool or
something.
Yeah, that's cool stuff there.
Do you ever play any of thePaygo games?
Matthew Longest (42:31):
Oh my gosh, I
watch Dougoug play pagel games
all the time.
Um kind of I played likeoff-brand pagel type games on
neopets oh, man, well, it tookme hours on neopets growing up.
Game Junction (42:47):
Yeah, neopets,
that's crazy.
You know it's funny.
I went to a convention in 2023and they're bringing neopets
back and they had a whole booththere, but they're bringing it
back.
I'm trying to remember whatthey're trying to bring it back,
as it was like somethingdifferent.
Um, somebody else bought it.
Maybe it is just the website toplay.
(43:10):
Yeah, I guess it's just awebsite to play.
Yeah, I guess it's just awebsite to play.
Somebody else bought it andthey had a whole booth there for
it, and I got some stickers, amagnet, I think, a key chain or
something Pretty interesting.
I'm sure it's not the same aswhen I was a kid, though.
Matthew Longest (43:25):
I'm trying to
remember the Penguin I still
have an LCD Neopets game though.
Yeah.
Game Junction (43:32):
Yeah, what is the
?
Matthew Longest (43:33):
penguin one the
pc penguin one oh, that was
club penguin bro.
Game Junction (43:38):
Yeah, penguin man
, I got a ds game for that too.
Yeah, I played.
I played on pc, you know, on uhdidn't disney end up buying it
or something.
Matthew Longest (43:50):
That closed
down I have no idea what
happened to it.
I know it's not online anymore.
Game Junction (43:55):
Yeah, I think
Disney bought it.
Let me see.
Yeah, developed by DisneyCanada Inc.
And acquired by the Walt DisneyStudio in 2007.
Yeah, there's a fan-maderecreation called Club Penguin
Island Interesting.
(44:16):
Yeah, disney acquired ClubPenguin in August 2007 for $700
million.
I wonder if that was worth it.
Matthew Longest (44:27):
I wonder if
they got in there for another.
Game Junction (44:29):
It didn't close
down until 2017.
It says discontinuation.
The original Club Penguin gamewas shut down.
I think I do remember that.
Matthew Longest (44:37):
Yeah, when it
was shut down.
Remember the speedrun yeah, where you're going down the
mountain, that too, but there'sa big speedrun community trying
to see how fast you can getbanned in the game.
You have to start a brand newaccount, so the timer starts as
soon as you click sign up andyou have to fill in the game.
You have to start a brand newaccount so the timer starts like
as soon as you click sign upand you have to fill out the
whole form, like your email andstuff, and then spawn in the
(44:59):
game and then get banned as fastas possible.
Game Junction (45:02):
Is this for Club
Penguin Legacy?
Matthew Longest (45:06):
I don't know.
Game Junction (45:07):
There's a website
called Club Penguin Legacy that
you can sign up for.
Let's a website called ClubPenguin Legacy that you can sign
up for.
Let's go play now while we'reon here.
Matthew Longest (45:20):
In the stream.
Start playing Club PenguinLegacy all night.
Game Junction (45:23):
Nah, not at all,
I'm just curious.
We got a retail leak revealsthe ROG Xbox Ally release date,
which looks to be, it says, coming out in a couple of months
.
So it popped up onlinesuggesting it was only two
months to go until the SteamDeck, like handheld, will be
available to play, according toDeal Labs ever reliable Billy
(45:49):
Boo, billy Boo, I don't knowwrong out xbox ally and xbox
these names with xbox man, evenwith the wrong, xbox ally x will
launch on october 16th,allowing you an easy method of
playing your xbox game libraryon the go.
And I was talking with mybrother literally just yesterday
(46:09):
about the name scheme for Xbox.
Never made sense.
It's like you got the first one360.
Xbox One.
Matthew Longest (46:18):
Xbox One.
Okay, so what do I call thefirst Xbox?
Now Xbox Original?
I guess Xbox One.
Game Junction (46:24):
X and then the
Xbox Series X.
Like what is going on here?
Who is coming with the namingschemes, bro?
Xbox 360 was a cool name, likeit didn't make sense at all.
And then you go to Xbox One.
It's like what about theoriginal Xbox?
I don't understand what's goingon here, but it looks like US
(46:47):
prices to be confirmed.
But Euros the base Xbox LI be 5, but Euros the base Xbox Ally
be 599 Euros.
I don't know what thattranslates to 899 Euros for Xbox
Ally X.
If I remember right, it's like1100 dollars for Xbox Ally X.
So like the beef beefy one withthe beefy hardware, which is a
(47:11):
lot of money bro but what do youthink of this like handheld,
like do you think it's gonnasell?
yeah, I do, I do um.
Yeah, like the rogue ally, x,um, or what's that?
What the heck is the?
That's the c.
Now I'm getting names confused.
Matthew Longest (47:32):
Yeah, the
predecessor Because it got the
Steam Deck.
I don't think people buy that.
It's just the Rogue.
Game Junction (47:43):
Ally X.
I think it's $800.
So we speculated and that cameout in 2024.
We already thought it was goingto be $1,000.
So $1,100, if it's around there, not off at all.
On that, pretty much thoughtthat $800 already to get a ROG.
Matthew Longest (48:02):
LAX, that came
out last year.
I guess the people who wouldbuy this are people who really
like Game Pass.
That's what I guess.
Game Junction (48:11):
I mean it is more
than that.
I mean it's got all theeverything you can do on the
original raw guy x and stuff, you know.
But now you got the xboxintegration in there with game
pass like officially and stuffand then yeah, I mean, if you
like these pc handhelds and andyou care about they're very
(48:32):
popular, they sell raw guy x.
They sell like gangbusters andthey sold a lot of these and at
800 just sold with no problem.
Matthew Longest (48:42):
They've been no
problem doing it 800.
What are they more expensivethan the switch?
2?
Game Junction (48:48):
yeah, and it came
out last year, but it's also
more powerful than the Switch 2.
Yeah, that's true by quite abit.
So if you want to play, PCgames on a handheld at 1080p.
You know, I don't know it'shitting a certain market of
people that want to have thelatest and greatest tech in a
(49:13):
handheld form, I guess.
Matthew Longest (49:15):
Yeah, they're
making a second one.
They're for sure making enoughmoney.
They see it's worth it.
Game Junction (49:23):
Yeah, I'm looking
like here.
You went to the launch.
Matthew Longest (49:27):
Didn't you the
what?
You went to the launch andpicked it up at GameStop at
midnight last one.
Game Junction (49:35):
Oh, I don't have
any PC handhelds.
Matthew Longest (49:39):
Oh, maybe it
was a Series X you went to.
Game Junction (49:41):
Yeah, I did.
Yeah, that was the one.
I waited in line for thepre-order day, but then I went
to go pick it up and there wasonly two of us that could get it
, because it's all they got inthe store.
There's a long giant linepretty much going down.
I mean down a couple of thestores.
Matthew Longest (50:01):
Why don't these
guys, why do they not pre-order
I?
Game Junction (50:04):
don't know.
There's three of them waitingin line.
Everybody's waiting in linethere.
There's only two of us there topick up.
And then they got the other onefor the.
They got no extra, which wasweird because that ended up
being the easier one to get outof the PS5 and the Series X at
launch.
They were both hard to get fora little bit but then you
started to see the Series X instores and stuff you like,
(50:29):
started to see the series x andstores and stuff and the ps5 is
still.
I think I didn't actually seephysically in the store for like
a year and a half, two years, something like that.
I still didn't see one like it.
It went on for a while.
They were hard to get for aminute I want.
Matthew Longest (50:41):
I want the
viewers to go to the game
junction lounge on facebook andwrite to us.
Why do people not pre-order andthey prefer standing these
lines?
They just don't have the money.
They forget they have FOMO.
If you're missing out orsomething At the last second,
they're like, yeah, they were onthe fence.
And they're like, yeah, I'llget it.
Game Junction (51:01):
There's like
parents here for Christmas,
because one of there's a coupleadults or there's one
specifically got pretty angrybut they had to walk the two of
us that picked up out to our carbecause they were not happy.
So I mean, someone went onlinefor like four or five hours or
something and I just went therelike I don't know 30 minutes
(51:24):
before just to be there, youknow before they opened up, and
I don't know 30 minutes beforejust to be there, you know
before they opened up and Idon't know.
That was an interesting one.
Matthew Longest (51:31):
These people
Xbox GameStop there.
Once they realized that theyhave more than two, should have
just told them to go home, orsomething.
Game Junction (51:44):
I mean, yeah, you
said you got to see the same
thing happen with the Switch 2launch, essentially, but you
didn't get to see anybody getangry because we left before
that happened.
Matthew Longest (51:53):
We left before
they ran out.
Game Junction (51:56):
But we knew they
were running out because they
told us how many they had, so itwas like there was a lot of
people there.
Not enough to fulfill thosesaid people.
They had to have two separatelines for people that already
paid for an order of it and thenI mean gamestop allowed you to
order a three o'clock.
Matthew Longest (52:12):
Why you guys
showing up at midnight?
Why are you doing midnight?
Game Junction (52:15):
why?
I guess, like you could haveshowed up at three o'clock and
got one for that one.
I guess many like people thatwere working, but I, I don't
know.
That one's weird because, likethe xbox series x and or just
the Series X, you can pre-ordersignificantly before.
The PS5 was weird because itjust went up one day so you
could run into the store and getit real quick or you could
pre-order online, but it justrandomly went up.
(52:37):
That was why I wasn't able toget one of those.
I got it three days later fromBest Buy.
I got really lucky on that one,but it was weird.
Just like went up after a stateof play or something I can't
remember.
It was like really random or itwas like accidental, I can't
remember.
But yeah, I don't, I don't know.
(52:59):
You know it's good to pre-orderstuff, um, just to be safe, you
know do they like the thrill of?
Matthew Longest (53:07):
am I going to
get it?
Game Junction (53:10):
I mean maybe.
Matthew Longest (53:13):
I want to hear
stories of people who went to
GameStop they ran out.
They went to Best Buy they ranout.
They stayed up until like 8 amon.
Walmart opened and Targetopened and stuff like that, and
I want to hear their stories ofhow they got one and target open
and stuff like that and I wantto hear their stories of how
they got one.
Game Junction (53:30):
I mean, to be
fair, it was like fun back in
the day for like launches, whenyou couldn't pre-order and you
just went to go get the game orget the, the thing.
You're just there for thelaunch.
It was like you kind of didn'tknow you know what I mean.
You like you didn't knownecessarily they're gonna have
enough.
Usually they did.
It wasn't really a problem backthen.
But like some of the launcheslike I can think of, like some
(53:53):
of the call of duty launches Iwent to, they were so much fun
it was just chatting with peoplewould bring a chair, you know
what I mean like some peoplewould set up things and uh, it
was fun.
Like those were fun.
I had, uh, some good times withsome of those, even some like
the later call of duty launches, trying to think of what would
(54:13):
have been a later one that Iwould have picked up I heard
great stories about them.
Matthew Longest (54:20):
I have, yeah,
but yeah, the switch to one, the
game stop.
We went, they were going to doa tournament and then no one was
there at 3 pm, so there wasn'ta tournament.
Yeah, and then another one wasgoing to have pizza in a
tournament.
I don't know how theirs went.
Game Junction (54:41):
Yeah, I don't
know.
I was like they ended up doingit.
There wasn't enough people.
There was only a couple of usin there when we went.
Matthew Longest (54:48):
Yeah, like five
, and I only got video games
pre-ordered from Walmart.
Game Junction (54:53):
Yeah, that's
right.
Yeah, that is right.
We got the one for thetournament that we're doing
tomorrow.
Yeah, that was fun, thoughthere wasn't much to do.
We went to just go pay for itand stuff and get our things,
but it was still pretty fun justto go to the launch and kind of
experience that a little bit.
(55:14):
Again, we got to talk to acouple people.
Matthew Longest (55:18):
Yeah, we did a
few live streams too during that
it wasn't as fun as the olddays, because things aren't the
same unfortunately, and peopleget super smart phones and
things so they're not payingattention, they're distracted
the whole time.
Game Junction (55:32):
But I think that
might be the last launch like
that.
That might, uh, pretty muchhappen.
You know, I don't know I don'tknow.
Matthew Longest (55:41):
You think
playstation 6 or xbox 720 will
come out 720.
Game Junction (55:51):
They're way past
that one.
At this point they might goback.
I mean, I wouldn't be surprisedI don't even know we get any
more Xbox official console.
To be honest, they stay.
It's still coming the midnightlaunch of what we're talking
about now, this alley.
Matthew Longest (56:09):
I don't know if
they'll have a midnight launch
for that alley though.
Game Junction (56:14):
They do midnight
launches for select games.
Yeah, but what's like the lastbig one that you went to or have
you ever went to the SwitchMario Kart World.
Matthew Longest (56:27):
Yeah, one that
you went to, or have you ever,
like, went to the switch mariokart world.
Game Junction (56:29):
Yeah, did.
Uh.
Did you get a switch one atlaunch?
Matthew Longest (56:36):
because I did
not no, I won my switch in a
raffle.
Game Junction (56:39):
I made a video
about it that's funny what I won
in a raffle.
It was a mod2.
It's got a bunch of games on it.
Was it like one of those wheelsor whatever?
Matthew Longest (56:53):
No, it was, it
wasn't Korg's Kong Korg's.
Game Junction (57:00):
Kong.
Oh, korg's Kong, it's justKorg's.
But yeah, they do sometimes putKorg's Kong on the thing.
I know, I know the guy thatruns it.
Yeah, I want it there did youreally yeah, what year he's been
(57:21):
doing them for?
Like 15 years, 2021?
I'm trying to think.
When I got mine, that would havebeen probably about the time I
got mine too.
To be honest, no, that's wrong.
I think I got mine in 20.
(57:43):
Hold on, I didn't get mine in2021.
I got mine in 2019.
So I got a year before Series Xand the PS5 came out.
I was pretty late on getting it.
I was kind of late on it.
To be honest with you.
2021, 2019, both of those arekind of late on it.
I only came out in 2017, butit's like you would think it
would be something I would havegot to launch and it wasn't
because I didn't want to get it.
(58:03):
I did want to get it.
I did want to get it.
I was just stuck playing on theWii U a lot of the time in the
3DS and I did want to get it.
But I know I couldn't.
Like when I went to go buy itone time they didn't have any in
stock and I think I just kindof just didn't care.
(58:26):
I was like pretty busy withwork and stuff and I did care.
I just didn't care.
I was pretty busy with work andstuff.
I did care.
I just didn't have a lot oftime in the game and I was still
pretty active playing games onthe Wii U, which is crazy to say
because nobody played the Wii U, but I did play a lot on the
Wii U Monster Hunter and stuff.
Matthew Longest (58:43):
I have a.
Game Junction (58:43):
Wii U Mine's
still plugged up right here.
Can't see it, but it's stillplugged up.
I have a Wii U Mine's stillplugged up right here.
Can't see it, but it's stillplugged up.
I like the Wii U a lot.
I spent a lot of hours on there.
Matthew Longest (58:53):
I pulled it out
for my Switch 2 unboxing video,
just so I could put the Wii Utablet next to the.
Switch OLED next to the Switch2 to show the size difference.
Game Junction (59:07):
What you gotta do
to show the size difference.
What you got to do is show theWii U switch switch OLED in the
switch to.
Matthew Longest (59:16):
Yeah, maybe
like the 3DS under it.
Yeah, I still waiting for them.
Make a switch to attachment forDS.
Game Junction (59:27):
And they could do
it with the USB-C on the top.
Matthew Longest (59:31):
Yeah, and they
don't even need an attachment,
they can just split the screen.
It's already touch screen onthe bottom.
They could just split thescreen, something that's doable.
Game Junction (59:43):
That'd be pretty
weird.
I'm going to get my Switch 2.
I'm like I don't know if I'dwant the screen cut in half.
Matthew Longest (59:48):
Necessarily
they could, they could, uh, but
yeah it'd be like a 2ds, exceptfor it would be too stretched
out.
I think it'd be pretty.
Game Junction (59:59):
That's what I'm
saying be pretty stretched out
screens for for each one.
But yeah, it would beinteresting if they did like
some kind of attachment for thetop.
It was speculated there was athing out there where people
thought that was going to happenbefore we knew anything about
the switch to.
And uh, obviously that didn'thappen.
But ever say never.
Yeah, they are patenting, uh,uh a crank.
Matthew Longest (01:00:25):
What I want is
for them to take a.
You can buy a dock that willallow disks and then you can
still use your Wii controllersand your Wii U controllers and
backwards compatibility withthat.
Game Junction (01:00:43):
Yo, I was trying
to sign up here on the side for
Club Penguin Legacy.
All I do is put Game Junction.
Yo, I was trying to sign uphere on the side for club
pingles and club penguin legacy.
I just all I do is put gamejunction says please make sure
your username is appropriate anddoes not contain any profanity
okay bro, like what I'm confusedhere.
All right, I did that the otherday I misspelled maintenance on
(01:01:05):
ebay.
Matthew Longest (01:01:06):
I forgot the n
and ebay said that you may not
use this.
It's an inappropriate title.
You must delete this listingand start over.
I can't even edit it, youforgot what the heck I've
forgotten in.
I was like what is that?
Yeah, I know what happenedwhat's wrong here?
Game Junction (01:01:27):
ebay, uh, ebay,
alright, so we got two more new
topics here.
Left we got battlefield six.
Devs are working on substantialincrease in server capacity as
open beta launches to hugeconcurrence and equally huge
queues.
I was told Matt right for thepodcast that I was in a queue
for like 45 minutes.
I couldn't get in, so I waslike he's streaming it on sunday
(01:01:49):
I'm streaming it on sunday.
Matthew Longest (01:01:52):
Hopefully they
fix this issue so I can actually
yeah, yeah, I want.
Game Junction (01:01:57):
I would like to
try it out, but that's crazy.
You gotta wait hours.
I don't have time for that.
You know that's crazy maybe Iwon't go live until I find a
game says, the team is nowworking on a substantial
increase in server capacity, which will reduce your time in
the queue.
Thank you for your continuedpatience as we work to get as
many of you into the game assoon as possible.
(01:02:18):
We're looking forward to seeingyou experience battlefield 6
and we appreciate your patience.
We will use cues to protect theplayer experience, but expect
this impact to be minimal.
May encounter this duringhigh-peak moments, such as the
start of servers going live.
The team is working constantlyto reduce any cue that takes
place, so I don't know.
Matthew Longest (01:02:37):
So basically,
some of the playtests is this
weekend and I think the gamereleases around October October
10th is what I see.
Somebody tweeted here ascreenshot in October, October
10th is what I see.
Game Junction (01:02:47):
Somebody tweeted
here a screenshot.
It says their queue position is270,400.
Matthew Longest (01:03:00):
That's their
position in the queue.
Game Junction (01:03:03):
And that was
yesterday.
Looks like at 4.47am.
Matthew Longest (01:03:08):
My friend did
send me some gameplay footage of
him playing and it looks likeBattlefield 4, which is a really
good Battlefield, so I'm kindof excited.
Game Junction (01:03:18):
Yeah, somebody
else tweeted here.
You will wait two hours to getin play for a bit and then crash
and wait hours again.
It's a beta, but man, it'srough.
Good luck on Sunday, buddy.
Good luck on Sunday with thatone.
Matthew Longest (01:03:30):
I remember
playing the beta on Battlefield
3.
I think that's one of myfavorite Battlefields.
Game Junction (01:03:36):
Number three I
don't know what my favorite
Battlefield is, to be honestwith you.
Matthew Longest (01:03:43):
I will be fair.
I like the.
Game Junction (01:03:45):
Bad Company.
2.
Matthew Longest (01:03:47):
Those ones I
didn't play until after number
three and they, they were good,um, they're great, but no one
was online.
No one, no one was.
Game Junction (01:03:58):
Yeah, at least
when I was uh searching on q on
playstation 3 yeah, I definitely, I, I definitely think bad
company two is probably myfavorite.
And then I mean, alongside that, I'm not really like bad
company one as well.
You know what I?
Like about them what's up?
Matthew Longest (01:04:16):
one, I think
one and two.
Um, when you play like on thehardest difficulty, whatever in
the campaign, yeah you kill.
You kill an enemy.
If you die and reload yourcheckpoint, that enemy's still
dead.
So anyone on the turrets andstuff, I would just try my best
to kill only them.
Allow myself to die.
(01:04:37):
It's okay as long as thatperson died.
Then I don't have to deal withthe turrets anymore.
Game Junction (01:04:43):
Yeah, I'm trying
to remember.
I really like Battlefield 2.
I actually still have aphysical PC copy of that game.
It's interesting.
Matthew Longest (01:04:54):
I repurchased
it on PS3.
Game Junction (01:04:56):
Yeah, I don't
have it.
I know I've got Battlefield 3and 4.
Bad Company 2.
I don't think I have BadCompany 1 anymore.
I'd like to get that at somepoint again.
Matthew Longest (01:05:10):
It's like I
think $5.
Game Junction (01:05:15):
Oh, my goodness,
my friend just sent me a message
from Pokemon.
They said think you need aKylie Jenner, that's because
somebody traded him.
A Latias oh, get off.
There.
Named Kylie Jenner him on.
They said think you need akylie jenner, that's because
somebody traded him.
A lot of us oh, get off.
There.
Named kylie jenner.
Okay, that's funny.
(01:05:36):
Um, yeah, but the, thebattlefield stuff, I'm
definitely interested to checkit out.
I did not like 2042 at all andI not put significant time and
I've probably played 25 30 hoursof it.
Matthew Longest (01:05:48):
Yeah, I didn't
like it at all or battlefield 5,
24, 2 is rough.
When it first came out, um, Iplayed a little bit.
After that, I would keepgetting kicks saying that I was
using hacks while live streaming.
I don't know what that wasabout, um everyone in my chat
told me that I'm a cheater.
Game Junction (01:06:11):
You are.
You were hacking a couple oftimes with Mario cart man.
He's.
Matthew Longest (01:06:15):
Mario.
Game Junction (01:06:16):
And he was
hacking.
I was like what?
Matthew Longest (01:06:18):
the hell World
already got hacks on launch day.
Game Junction (01:06:22):
You was doing on
Marvel rivals too.
It's hacking man.
Um, all right, he was doing iton Marvel Rivals too.
Just hacking man, alright.
So for the last news thing thatwe got for this week, take-two
also, we talked about them alittle bit ago on Bioshock and
they said they addressed therumored price hike for Grand
Theft Auto VI, which it wasrumored at $100.
(01:06:44):
It says I think our approachmay be a little different,
replied zelnick when I askedabout gta6 pricing at 80 during
take two's august 7th investro.
We believe any consumerexperience is an intersection of
the thing itself, what you paidfor the thing.
So our goal is to vastly exceedexpectations.
(01:07:07):
We want to put on the bestentertainment on earth.
We want to deliver more valuethan what we charge for it.
We think we've, generallyspeaking, gotten that right.
Variable pricing has been thenature of the industry forever,
added Zelnick.
You know most frontlinereleases will get out at a
higher price, sometimes withspecial editions and over time.
Usually the price is discountedto optimize for the largest
(01:07:29):
possible market and I don'tthink that's going to change
anytime soon.
The rubric that informs us isreally that of delivering more
value than we charge.
Lunch PR speak.
Again, it's an investor call.
So you got to take anything yousay and those with the greatest
salt at times.
But it got rumored at $100.
(01:07:50):
It got rumored at $80.
I can see $80.
I mean it's going to be $70minimum.
You know that's the standardnow.
So they made so much money offof GTA Online that they could
launch this at $70, no problem, make their money back in a
(01:08:16):
couple months.
You know what I mean.
This is the most expensive Ithink the most expensive video
game now of all time.
I could be wrong on that.
I watched a video the other dayon this.
It's got so much money put intoit I think it's reached like a
billion dollars, something crazy.
Wow, let's see GTA 6.
(01:08:37):
Development costs Let meconfirm here.
Oh, I was off by a lot Between$1 billion and $2 billion for
this.
That's crazy.
That's crazy man for a videogame.
That's insane.
Development costs GTA V was atjust $265 million Still a lot,
(01:09:02):
and you got to think of whenthat came out of the PS3 time.
So, whatever that inflation isthere a little bit a couple of
generations ago.
Yeah, yeah, that's crazy man.
Insane, it says.
Some reports compare the rumorbudget to the cost of
constructing the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building,
(01:09:23):
which costs $1.5 billion.
Matthew Longest (01:09:27):
So yeah, I
don't know know, put that in the
game the building oh, theyshould for real, that's true,
they really should cool frog.
Thank you for being here yeah,it's uh definitely interesting.
Game Junction (01:09:42):
The cost on the
back end of this is absolutely
insane.
Whatever it is, the actual costis uh for development, for sure
is.
Is is bonkers on this.
But the amount of money let'ssee gta online I can't remember.
(01:10:03):
I know we talked about this afew times.
I can never remember some oflike the, what they think they
made on it, but it's somethinglike I can't even remember seven
, eight billion dollars, whichis absolutely insane on gta
online.
That's crazy yeah to make onjust some online game.
(01:10:23):
What's up, cool frog, appreciate you coming in here,
but uh, yeah, that's all thenews that we got for this week.
Matthew Longest (01:10:31):
I did want to
talk about the indie games that
are coming out for nintendothank you so yeah, so nintendo
are announced.
A whole bunch of different indiegames coming out.
One of them is I don't know ifyou ever played ultimate chicken
horse, but it's a whole bunchof different indie games coming
out.
One of them is I don't know ifyou ever played Ultimate Chicken
Horse, but it's like a littleplatformer where you have to
place.
It's multiplayer, so you'replacing platforms to get to the
(01:10:56):
very end.
It's a race to the end, butpeople are placing other things
to get in your way at the sametime, placing bombs and ways to
kill you at the same time.
Now they have Ultimate SheepRaccoon, which is coming out
which looks like the same idea, but on bicycles the whole time,
which is kind of funny.
I've live-streamed UltimateChicken Horse a few times, so
(01:11:18):
maybe I'll get Ultimate SheepRaccoon and content coming to
the Switch and just a wholebunch of little things.
Yeah, I guess we can readthrough some of them.
Coming to the Switch and just awhole bunch of little things.
Yeah, I guess we can readthrough some of them.
Game Junction (01:11:31):
Yeah, just I
guess, read off what.
Matthew Longest (01:11:36):
Mina the
Halloward Well Dweller, that one
looks kind of cool.
Neverway Herdling, which hashas like yaks on it.
So my wife Heidi will love itbecause she loves yaks.
Yeah, is this seat taken?
Was like what?
(01:11:56):
On a school bus or something.
Yeah, that one Little littlekitty, big city picture Perfect
update.
Okay, I wonder if this is goingto be like uh, take off of
stray content, no, no no hold onlittle kitty.
Big city has been out for awhile, oh my god, oh my bad yeah
(01:12:18):
, most of it, a lot of it'spretty popular in the game a lot
of these indie games have beenout um, I don't know how many
are new, but they're coming tothe Switch.
Game Junction (01:12:29):
Content Warning.
Matthew Longest (01:12:30):
That's the one
that's been out, which is
something me and you should dosometime.
I hear it's funny.
Which one is it?
Content Warning.
Game Junction (01:12:38):
Oh, okay, for.
Matthew Longest (01:12:39):
YouTubers in
space and other places.
Ball X Pit Ultimate SheepRaccoon Glaciered is ball x,
ball x pit ultimate sheepraccoon glacier.
(01:13:00):
There's like underwaterdinosaurs cozy management game,
tiny book bookshop.
Tiny bookshop is out onnintendo switch now and a few
other ones Just wanted to give afew shout-outs to the indie
community.
Game Junction (01:13:14):
Yeah, for sure, I
completely forgot to put that
in there, but yeah, that didhappen too, and I did watch it
live.
It wasn't my favorite indiedirect, but there was a couple
things there that lookedinteresting, for sure.
I thought the Well Dweller kindof stood out to me a little bit
.
Some of those look pretty cool.
(01:13:37):
I'm always up for some indiegames, for sure.
The other one that I'm reallyexcited about is Mina the
Hollower, from the same peoplethat did Shovel Knight.
This is like a straight upissue.
It's a 16-bit game.
Um, it looks really, really, really fun, though, but
apparently I think there's demo.
Yeah, there's demo on thee-shop right now, which I need
(01:14:01):
to check out for sure.
It looks like a lot of fun.
Do you play any of those?
There's like a I don't know abunch of show.
When I spin off some stuff, too, you can get like a whole
collection.
Matthew Longest (01:14:12):
Treasure what I
want to do is make like a
youtube video or somethingsometime where I just put all of
them.
All of these indie games arelike less than 20.
Put them on a wheel, spin themand just play that game for like
20 minutes.
Spin it, buy another game, playit for 20 minutes and uh, rate
them all or something yeah, that'd be.
Game Junction (01:14:34):
That'd be an
interesting idea.
Matthew Longest (01:14:37):
Honestly, I've
done it for one dollar.
Steam games um, but I haven'tdone it yeah, I went through the
alphabet of one dollar steamgames so I picked a $1 game on
Steam that started with theletter A, letter B and so on and
so forth.
Game Junction (01:14:55):
Yeah, the content
warning one.
I didn't remember exactly whichone that was, but I was just
looking at it and I was likethat might be fun to stream.
Actually, that might be a goodone for sure.
Ultimate Sheep Raccoon looksabsolutely crazy though.
Yes, the game looks insane.
It might be fun to check outtoo.
Yeah, there's definitely acouple there that look pretty
(01:15:16):
cool, but it was not my favoriteany-world direct by any means.
I thought it was a littlelackluster.
To be honest, I don't know howyou felt about it, but didn't
like three games.
To be honest, I don't know howyou felt about it, but didn't
Like three games.
You know, maybe I was likesuper interested in like a bunch
of them.
I was kind of like I don't know,I usually really like these
(01:15:36):
Anyworld directs, but nothingelse like super stood out to me.
There was a couple there thatwas fine, but it was okay, not
bad.
But thanks, yeah, thanks forbringing that one up.
Uh, you want to plug tomorrowagain?
Matthew Longest (01:15:52):
and then any.
Yeah, we're doing immersionevent, if you guys want to come.
We're doing video gametournament in circleville, ohio,
um, and we're just going to be.
You got an address.
You got?
Uh, yes, circlevillefairgrounds.
Do you have the address?
I know it's on yeah, I got itsure.
(01:16:16):
Where's the address?
415.
415 Lancaster Pike, thePickaway County Fairgrounds in
Circleville, ohio.
We're going to be doing CollegeFootball 26, tech in 8.
Street Fighter 6 with Years 1and 2, I believe it's the newest
(01:16:38):
one on the PlayStation 5.
We're playing Mario Kart World,so that way you guys can take a
look at the new Switch 2.
If you haven't had one yet, youcan feel it.
We're doing the Mario Kart, feel it, um, and we're doing the

Game Junction (01:17:12):
Yeah, for sure.
I'm excited for everythingtomorrow.
It's going to be a long day,but it's going to be fun.
Matthew Longest (01:17:23):
It's going to
be fun.
