What a creative lawyer?
Is that allowed?
It's is not only allowed but required.
For those not completely familiar with all things lawyerin' in the States or Canada much is founded on case law.
With case law and most court proceedings it's all about making connections between the original statutes, historical decisions (precedence and case law), and forming an argument for the current legal circumstance/situation.
Sure it sounds analytical as all get out but you need to make connections to help your client or case. Connections are not always self evident. You need to be creative.
Having said that, some people go into law and decide they don't want to be a partner in a big firm or even start their own boutique firm.
This episode's guest (Chad Aboud) is one of those people. He went on a spiritual and creative journey and discovered his passion was to help other find and live theirs (their passion).
