behind the scenes and everythingin between I'm declaring this

(00:43):
learn and level up in real time, from auditions and photo shoots
to script breakdowns and behindthe scene chaos.
We're diving into the ups, thedowns and everything in between.
If you're ready to chase yourown dreams, fuel your passion or
see if you have what it takesto rise to the top, you're in
the right place.
So grab a coffee, get comfy andlet's glow up together.
(01:07):
So I have some exciting newsy'all.
I have been acting for sixyears professionally and this
year is the first year I'mstarting my own business.
So I'm actually my actingcareer is now in a business, in
an LLC, and just like separatefrom me, which is so, so, so
(01:27):
exciting, because last year wasthe first year that I made more
money than I spent acting, whichI am so fucking proud of.
You guys have no idea how manyyears I've just spent like
spinning my wheels, but you know, as soon as I really really
started taking it seriously anddecided I wasn't going to
(01:51):
sabotage my progress or getderailed or distracted by just
general life distractions, that's when it really started
happening for me.
So it was so exciting to lookback at my taxes from last year
and realize that I had made morethan I had spent for the first
time ever.
(02:12):
So I made my first I, so Istarted my first business
January 2025.
And I set some goals for theyear.
I'm a I'm a goal girly.
It's just the type of person Iam.
I like to be constantly on thenext thing and the next thing
and the next thing, and so Iwanted to give you guys some of
my goals for the year too, andmaybe they'll help you as you
(02:36):
are glowing up in your own life.
So this year, I really wanted tofocus on updating my headshots
and my marketing material.
I want to love my portfolio.
I want to look at my modelingportfolio and my reel and just
be in love with them and justproud of them.
(02:56):
When you love your marketingmaterials, that is when you are
in the right space.
So this year, one of my goalsis to really focus on updating
everything so that I can lookback on my portfolio and be like
, wow.
I also want to book work.
Right, like everybody wants tobook work.
But booking work is a hard goalto set because it's in somebody
(03:18):
else's control.
Right, it's based off of otherpeople who audition you know the
casting director, what they'relooking for, all of those things
.
So it's not really a goal thatI have in my control.
So, instead of focusing onbooking jobs, I want to focus
more on building my skills, getting better, doing active
practice, active and consistentpractice.
(03:41):
And with that I also want toattend this year Coco Rocha's
model camp, which is kind of asilly thing for me because I am
a 5'4" tiny, petite, littlechicky-poo and really if you're
going to go do fashion andeditorial, you want to be much
(04:02):
taller than that, probably likefive, eight and up and so.
But I've always had this dreamof doing like fashion
photography and being able to dolike this high level fashion,
like cool look, and so I'm gonnago for the fun of it, because
why not?
I'm gonna go and I'm gonna kickbutt and I'm going to learn
(04:28):
some new skills that might ormight not apply to my career,
but I'm just going to go and I'mgoing to do it and I'm going to
have fun and I'm going to leavewith some digitals that are
fantastic and something that Imight never, ever get to do
again, and so it's somethingthat I want to go do this year.
I'm hoping to schedule itaround March, but, yeah, it's
(04:48):
going to be so fun.
And then I also just heardabout it's called the Model
Workshop and it's by AnthonyGrissetti and I.
When I first signed with myagency, I'm represented by New
England Models Group, which isan agency in New Hampshire.
They're based out of NewHampshire but they serve all of
New England and I love my agency.
(05:09):
And when I first signed up withthem, they gave me Antony
Grissetti.
Well, when I first signed upwith them, they gave me a list
of photographers to go through, and so I went through.
I looked at all thephotographers' websites.
I really vetted them.
I wanted a high qualityheadshot, just like everybody
does, right.
Anthony Grissetti's work justreally stood out to me and he
(05:30):
had this, this like headshotdevelopment package or something
like that, where you could goin and he would kind of like
give you pointers and tips andhelp you pose and stuff.
And since I hadn't done anymodeling work, I thought that
would be really, really usefuland so I went in, I did my photo
shoot with Anthony Grissetti.
(05:50):
I was, I felt really good, Ifelt proud, it was, it went, it
went well, I thought.
And then I got my photos and Iwas fucking blown away.
I looked at these photos and Iwas like, oh, I'm getting
emotional for some weird reason.
I looked at these photos and Iwas like I cannot believe that's
(06:12):
me.
I was so proud of those photosand that's the first time that I
realized that you have to beproud of your marketing
materials.
For them to be the rightmarketing materials, you have to
look at those marketingmaterials and be like, holy shit
, that's me and I am so proud.
That's the type of work youwant to put out there, right.
(06:33):
And so these photos came backand I was just fucking blown
away.
And so this year, as I'm doingmy vision board because you know
I'm froofy and I do a visionboard and who cares?
I'm not judging myself.
But as I was doing my visionboard, I was like my goal for
this year, right, is to get myupdated marking materials, my
(06:55):
updated headshots.
And I looked, I went on hiswebsite because I knew I wanted
to go back for another photoshoot.
I mean, why wouldn't you?
I was so proud of the digitalsI received and so I went on his
website and I was going to justtake a picture of his logo,
(07:16):
honestly, and throw it on myvision board for later on in the
year.
And I was going through all ofhis work and everything and kind
of looking at well, whatprogram do I want to do this
time and what do I want to takeadvantage of this time for my
headshot session?
Do I want to do this time andwhat?
What do I want to takeadvantage of this time for my
headshot session?
Do I want to do a modelportfolio, like what do I want
(07:37):
to do?
And he had a model workshop onthere and it was like a limited
spots, it was 10 spots and Ispent like I really wanted to do
it, I really wanted to do it, Ireally wanted to do it, let me
just say that and I knew Iwanted to do it, but I didn't
really have the cash activelyavailable and so I thought about
(08:01):
it for like three days and likeevery three days probably like
two or three times a day I'll goon his website and see how many
spots were left, because I wasworried I wasn't gonna get a
spot.
And on like day four I was.
I was like I can't do to get aspot.
And on like day four I was.
I was like I can't do thisanymore, I just need to buy it.
Like my intuition is telling methis is the right thing to do.
I need to go.
I like I just need to go tothis workshop.
I know it's going to be, I knowit's gonna be great networking,
(08:23):
I know I'm going to get greatinformation, I'm going to meet
some people and I'm going toleave with his workshop.
You leave with digitals foryour digi sheet for modeling,
and then you also get threeretouched photos.
And so I was like I just I knowit's the thing, I have to do it
.
I have to do it, whether I havethe money or not, I have to do
(08:43):
it.
And so I spent the money.
I like chewed my nails for acouple of days like I shouldn't,
maybe I shouldn't have spentthis money, and a couple days
like, oh, I shouldn't, maybe Ishouldn't have spent this money.
And then I was like you know,I'm letting go of that and I'm
just going to be super excitedand stoked about this model
workshop and it hasn't happenedyet.
So come back for episode two tohear the update of how it went
(09:07):
and when I got back for digitals.
But I'm'm just so excited and Ijust feel so blessed to be able
to work with people who arepassionate about what they do,
because it really shows in thework.
So, yeah, that that is what I'mworking on for this year and
that's what's come up so far.
And I guess, before we go, I'llgive you a little bit more
(09:29):
background information on likewhere I came from when I did.
But I went to school formusical theater at AMDA,
american Musical and DramaticAcademy, and I went to school in
both in New York and in LA andit was a wonderful experience.
I knew when I was leaving Ididn't want to do musical
theater anymore.
I was just really moreinterested in on screen and
(09:53):
camera work and I was able todevelop some of that into my
program.
But I was so nervous when Igraduated college to go to a
professional job that I decidedthat I would work behind the
scenes on a couple shoots.
And if I could find some likebehind the scenes work, like
working as a PA or somethinglike that, I could understand
(10:16):
like how sets worked and I mightfeel more comfortable going to
act on a set.
And so I spent, honestly, probably like four years working
behind the scenes and it was sovaluable because I learned so
much.
I worked as a PA Obviouslyeverybody starts as a PA I moved
up to an AD.
(10:38):
I was a second AD and as soonas I did this AD role I decided
I did not want to be an ADanymore.
But I AD'd for a couple ofthings, which is an assistant
director that's where you'regoing around set and trying to
keep everybody on schedule andon time and I decided I didn't
want to be somebody who waspushy about time restraints and
so I did that a little bit.
(10:59):
And then I also got to explorescript supervising, which was an
incredible experience because Ilearned a lot about continuity
and how to track my ownmovements within acting, because
you know, as you're editing andcutting the different clips
together, you know you need tomake sure that you picked up the
(11:19):
glass with the same hand andall of those fancy fun things so
the editors can clip together amovie that looks beautiful and
continuous and isn't like jumpyor doesn't have anything that's
super jumpy in it.
And so I did that for a coupleyears and I love script
supervising, but I always kindof felt this wow, I put myself
(11:41):
in a position where I get tolike watch actors all day but
not get to act, and so I didthat for a couple years.
And then I also worked as aproduction coordinator, which is
incredible.
I do like I do currently stillwork as a production coordinator
as well, and I like it.
(12:02):
It's a good like logistic thingfor my brain.
I am very like organized and Ido like to stay on top of things
and put out fires in a creativeway and do all those types of
things.
It's just not what my heart isset on, right Like.
I want to be in front of thecamera, not behind the camera at
(12:24):
the end of the day, and I amlearning a lot production
coordinating and it's a greatday job that keeps me like on
set and in the field and in film, and learning and just
gathering more information, um,which I think is extremely
valuable in it in itself, but,um, yeah, uh.
(12:44):
This year, though, this year, man, this year's my glow up year
and I'm really excited for it,and hopefully we'll get to the
point where we can take a littleless behind the scenes work and
do a little bit more creativeprojects and book some big jobs.
So come back for episode two, obviously, so you can hear what
(13:07):
happened at the model workshop.
I'll give you all the juicydetails.
It's going to be such suchincredible experience.
I already know I'm so stokedfor it.

up year.
