Pensar en la relación padre-atleta juvenil es como ser el arquitecto y no el constructor de un edificio. Usted diseña el plan, ofrece la mejor asesoría sobre la estructura y los materiales (valores, apoyo, comunicación positiva), pero debe dejar que el constructor (el atleta, en conjunto con el coach) ponga los ladrillos a su propio ritmo. Si usted intenta poner cada ladrillo por él o lo obliga a construir demasiado rápido, el edificio será inestable o se derrumbará por la presión.
