We had the pleasure of having guest Chelsia McKie on the podcast to share her story and the story behind Beyond The Court: Life Beyond the Game.
Beyond The Court: is a life-changing organization that prepares young athletes across the United States for life beyond their individual sport. Based out of Atlanta, Georgia, Beyond The Court was founded because we saw a need in the community to prepare athletes for what their lives may look like in the event they don’t make it to a professional league. At Beyond The Court, basketball is our first love, but we support and encourage all student-athletes, across the board.
In addition to sponsoring, hosting, and providing sports tournaments across the nation, they have also developed session-based conference that provides student-athletes academic and athletic resources to prepare them for the future.
According to the NCAA, of the student-athletes participating in college sports, less than 2% become professional athletes. In reality, most student-athletes depend on academics to prepare them for life after college. Education is important! This is where Beyond The Court steps in.
Join us as we dive into Chelsia’s journey—exploring how she turned her vision into reality, the challenges she’s overcome as a leader in the nonprofit world, and the values that guide her both professionally and personally. This conversation is bound to inspire and leave you with insights on how to create lasting impact in your own life and community.
