Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everyone! So,
let's continue our study on
(00:03):
Galatians twoseventeen-eighteen. But if we
seeking be justified in Christ,we ourselves have been found
sinners. Is then Christ aminister of sin? May never be,
for I rebuild what I have oncedestroyed.
(00:24):
I prove myself to be atransgressor. Now, we know this
is a conversation between Pauland Peter, where Paul is
confronting Peter. So, let's seethis thing. So, Paul asks a very
simple question here. He asks:
Is Christ a minister of sin? (00:39):
undefined
In the last podcast, we talkedabout how the law cannot justify
us. The one thing about the lawis that when you have a list of
rules and regulations, and youtry to keep them, you look as if
you are trying your best to beholy. The fact remains that it
(01:06):
doesn't help you become holy, but you're trying your best to
become holy, you're doingsomething. But when someone
trusts in the Spirit, they'resaying, I trust in God. I have
faith in God.
And you are relying on God. Youhave that active faith in you,
where you trust in God that Hewill work through you. So that
(01:27):
gives an impression of someonewho is planning to live in
lawlessness. Right? So that'swhere trust comes in.
So Paul is saying here, isChrist a minister of sin? Do you
think what Christ has done in usis going to create sin in our
lives? It's not going tomultiply sin in our lives. We
(01:48):
should understand something. There are other things which
happen under the hood.
So basically, we, before we werein Christ, we were sinners.
Right? We were lost. We werespiritually dead. So when Christ
was crucified, we were crucifiedwith Him.
So as a result, our body of sinhas been done away with. This is
(02:13):
what's written in Romans chaptersix. Our body of sin has been
done away with, and our spiritis recreated, and we are one
with the Spirit of the Lord. It's mentioned in first
Corinthians chapter six. And sowhat happens?
Now we have a body that has beencrucified. Our body of sin has
(02:35):
been done away with. We want thethings of God. Our old desires
have changed. You might wonderwhy do you still feel those
thoughts?
Why do you still have thoseurges? That's because your mind
has not been renewed to thatyet. Your mind has not been
renewed to the realities aboutyou and the word of God. Your
(02:58):
mind is still working on thatold software. So, basically, you
want the things of God.
You like the things of God. Youlove it. You absolutely love it.
And this is like a hand fits theglove. That is what you're
waiting for.
You've won the things of God. Sothat's what it happen happens
(03:21):
here. When you're trying tojustify through the law by a set
of 10 commandments, throughmoral laws, through traditions,
what happens is that you'regoing back into the old system
that does not work. And you'resaying that, God, I don't trust
in what you've done. I stillfeel that I have to do certain
things on top of it to make surethat I am still holy.
(03:45):
Salvation, you need to havefaith in Christ Jesus. And for
your life after salvation, yourwalk in your day to day life,
you still need to have faith inChrist Jesus and not based on
the law. May God bless you all.
