The second anniversary of America's withdrawal from Afghanistan is being noted by one Afghan family with silent smiles of hope for a brighter future in America. More specifically, freedom and hope somewhere in Florida.
The Florida Business Forum anchor Sam Yates caught up with the patriarch of the family and the pro-bono immigration attorney who has donated more than six months of her time and talents to bring a family of six to the safety of the Sunshine State.
The family's location is not pinpointed nor is their identity to protect them from the Taliban violence that threatened to pull the family's female members into an unimaginable servitude while the head of the family was beaten so severely, he was bedridden and unable to move from bed for more than a month. Beaten and threatened with death simply for standing up for human rights and the safety of his family after the United States withdrew from Afghanistan.
