(00:06):
Hello friends across the world to the Great British Mickey
Waffle. I'm John.
And once more on a Wednesday, we're going to add even more tea
planning. And actually today we're going
to actually have a look at that great achievement that is doing
404 parks in Walt Disney World in one day.
I've got 2 special guests to seeus through from each of the
(00:28):
parks and it promises to be another fun filled show.
And you know something else? They've let me do the tech,
which always leads me to believethat you never know quite what
will happen. Anyway, we are live.
(01:11):
There we go. Been having that.
Been having nightmares about doing that.
Goodness. I ain't got it working straight
away. There's still time yet, Don't
you worry. Now this is this is a little bit
of a difference on a Wednesday because actually this was this
was one of those moments where Iknow we said at the end of the
show, I might last Wednesday that I might be talking to
(01:32):
myself because everyone's off doing different things tonight.
So with it been, I think Robin'sbirthday today, it was Becca's
birthday yesterday. They're all off doing
gallivanting and doing nice things.
Claire's otherwise occupied doing all the stuff with more.
So I thought, what better than actually to do a show with two
(01:53):
people who I talk Disney with more often than probably many
other people. So from our great British Mickey
Waffle junior section, we've gotJosh.
Hi, Josh, thank you for joining us from your your new lab, your
new lab, non student digs since you've now been kicked out of
(02:14):
your student bit. So you're now officially, you're
now officially at Nan's house insomething.
It is. Compared to the.
Student living house. And the sound sounds a little
bit better as well, so it's evenbetter.
And making his live show debut now, I think.
(02:34):
I think you've been on the podcast, Joe, haven't you?
Yeah, I've been on with, I've been on with Josh once before,
but not live. Not live.
So actually, this is really going to be one of those
evenings where you're desperately going to have to not
swear, right? So we'll get that, get that
clear, get that clear straight away.
I've got a post it note to remember.
(02:59):
Don't swear or else, and actually this is this is one of
the wonders of this technology that we use Now.
Joe's actually in the same houseas I am, but rather than doing
the Ben and Beck's sharing a screen bit.
He knows fine well that it's he wouldn't get a word in age ways.
Everyone sat next to me. So so he's gone in the other
(03:22):
room and actually it makes it really easier because it means
that we've got three screens. It looks absolutely superb.
We've already got loads of people watching on YouTube
already, which is good, but I don't know about you.
I've ended up I've ended up tonight.
I've got long sleeve tops gone back on.
The weather's changed. It's not good.
(03:43):
It's gone long, absolutely miserable.
Yeah, really cold. Yeah.
Funnily enough, though, from Eclair's network, the Woods with
Morgan, it's been 28° the last few days.
It's. Glorious.
I feel Riley was even complaining about heat stroke
last night, so that's how warm it's been down there for.
That I feel short changing. So that's I've been saying out
(04:03):
since yeah, yeah, yeah, feel totally short changed.
I must admit it's one of those is one of those achievements
that you actually think goodness, you talk to your own
kids and you're actually on a live show on YouTube.
So what we're going to do, I'm going to show everyone tonight.
It's not me who over talks, right?
(04:24):
It's everybody else that's the person.
And also, if you notice, I get distracted rather easily.
So you will find there will be times where I'm trying to do
something heck wise and I get results lost and things like
that. So, well, we'll work.
(04:44):
We'll work around it. But anyway, it's all of this.
Together. We'll do we'll get by better not
having a show at all. And that was that was 1 prospect
that we crossed last Thursday and Friday that there would be
no Wednesday show. I thought, no, we're going to
keep that, keep the Wednesday tradition and the the Wednesday
midweek cook. Keep that going.
(05:06):
And and what we'll do is we'll do the news first, then we'll
say hello to the people in the chat and I appreciate you guys
joining us. So First off, and this week, Ron
Burgundy moment and we'll do thenews.
There we go there you go. Look, just one extra click
(05:32):
there. Anyway, as always, Disney knew
that we were desperate for news this week.
So what they've actually what they've actually done off the
press just this this afternoon is they've released the each of
the beat artists for this upcoming food and wine season.
Now I know last year Claire was really disappointed that
(05:55):
Starship never made it, but theyare on the list.
They are back. So should be directed with that.
But there's some new names on the list.
And I'm not going to go through the entire list of people
because actually you can find that.
I'll probably even put it in thewaffles arms at some point.
But the amount of different, quite high quality music that's
(06:17):
going to be in Epcot later this year is quite superb.
We have got new to new to it, tothe beat.
We've got KT Tunstall, which I thought was quite a a bit fair.
The Beach Boys, obviously without Brian Wilson because he
passed last week. So they're both on The Beach
Boys and Finish It off. But also on the list, and this
(06:39):
is the one that really stood outfor me, is a band called Bowling
For Soup. Now if you're on the ball with
Phineas and Ferb, they did the theme music for Phineas and
Ferb. So hopefully that will that will
be on their set list. It will be their full set list
by the looks. Of things like.
(07:02):
I've been I've been seeing things on TikTok and, and.
It will open the middle and it will close.
Yeah, yeah, they've been all romantic tock with their with
their with their songs of Phineas and Ferb, and you don't
realise how many there are untiluntil they start playing through
them all. Yeah, and The thing is, maybe,
(07:23):
maybe they just make that theme music from Phineas and Ferb.
It'd be a bit like going to see Simple Minds last year where Joe
and I went, every Simple Minds, Every Simple Minds songs was at
least 10 minutes long with the guitar stuff in the middle.
So yeah, I think I think that would be an even better one as
well. So, but I was, I was just
(07:44):
impressed that actually the quality there.
I think Boise men are playing again.
There's some other familiar names that are caught every
year, but this seems to become amuch, much bigger thing each and
every year. And I've got to I take my hat
off to the people in charge of booking the bands for that
because it's quite a nice one when people are in that car.
And I know, I know Charlie and Stacey tend to go to quite a few
(08:09):
of them and live stream. So you get to you get to hear a
little bit about exactly who's, who's playing and things like
that. So that was a that was a
headline for for this week. We've also stayed at Epcot.
Test track is taking over the world at the moment.
And actually it's been amazing to see.
I went against my my normal bit.I don't know what you guys like,
(08:31):
but I tend to avoid watching video of people and actually
people in Universal cast membersat Universal were actually
escorted lock property for videoand before it actually before it
actually opened. It's not doesn't seem to be the
same thing. So we've got like videos of
(08:53):
every single part of the queue line and the new refresh test
track which opens on the 22nd ofJuly.
Because you see, did you see thenews that came today though that
the new motorised door that they've put on leading?
What's happened yesterday? Yeah.
So they've ended up. They've just left.
They've ended up just leaving itopen.
(09:14):
I. Just saw.
Somebody else read the comment that the door that was
previously there managed 25 years without a malfunction.
Within two days this door is broken and a car's collided into
it so. Yeah, it summed it up.
It's not broke. Don't fix it.
It's. Yeah, well.
That's exactly it, you know, andthe problem problem with that
(09:37):
though, is the fact that, you know, it kind of continues that
theme of reverb and stuff in Epcot on the cheap and then
having to do it two or three times so it actually works or it
looks better or whatever. Don't get don't get me started.
We're not even I'm, I'm not ready for a rant just yet.
(09:58):
Just wait. Just wait till the last thing on
the the list. I tell you that isn't worth the
run. But they've also announced that
if, if you are there beforehand,so from July 13th, if your
annual pass holder, there will be some annual pass holder
previews. You need to pre, I think you
need to pre book it and you needto because obviously if you're a
pass holder, you need a park reservation, etcetera.
(10:21):
It's all on Disney website and not being not being a pass
holder, I didn't click through to check on whether or not any
availability, but but again, at least they given annual pass
holders a little bit of a littlebit of something back and then
if. They've kept the single rider
line at the tax. Rate yes, it's still there it's
(10:41):
still there thank goodness because yeah, exactly.
But without designing your own car, I I actually, I don't see
quite the whole purpose now withqueuing up because it's totally,
I think the sooner you can get into a car the better so.
Well, they've got a big 10 minute long tribute to Chevrolet
in the middle of the queue line Well.
(11:03):
The chance of me the chance of me buying a Chevrolet car and
and shipping it back to the UK are extremely remote so I want
to be on the ride and off the ride as soon as.
Building the car, but it became the attraction, didn't it,
within the queue line. So I think taking that away,
it's just going to become a 70 minute wait now instead of
(11:26):
actually 30 minutes. And you get to build your car
and then you're excited about them going on the ride and
seeing his car one. Yeah, it's no building at all
now then. It's gone back to the original
kind of open plan design that itwas originally and I think when
it was, well, when it was wells of motion and you actually have
(11:47):
that ability to just walk into the open part of the building.
Even then, the first version of tach track, you know, when you
have the that's all the crash test dummy sort of stuff on view
and things like that seems to bea little bit easier on the eye
and a little bit less sort of cramped and a little bit less.
You're less rammed in. But again, you're still, it's
(12:11):
still going to load at the same pace, isn't it?
So yeah, but we'll wait and see.I'm I'm I'm looking forward to
it. One thing they have changed is
actually the lightning lane multi pass now again, being
admittedly being tight and neverbuying lightning lightning lane
multi passes unless it's I mean that complete dire straight.
But they put test track into tier one, but moved soaring into
(12:36):
Tier 2. Now, I actually think that that
will mean that Soaring will now regain a bigger queue because I
really do believe that with Soaring now dropping in Tier 2,
you'll get a lot of Lightning Lane people wanting to to
actually go on Soaring. Very much dropped back to those
(12:57):
days when we had fast pass and you used to be able to do let's
say test tracks or in a living with the land, whereas on
Spaceship Earth or something like that.
And the queues were obviously long then since test track
closed, Soaring's due actually went down.
But I think, yeah, I think that might be the reason why because.
And that was probably because a lot of people wouldn't pay for a
Lightning lane and waste it on Soaring.
(13:19):
But now I think they'd probably take it up.
If you get on test Track or Guardians, you'd probably be.
I was going to say that I think it'd be interesting to see, you
know, the effect it'll have on Guardians and Ratatouille, for
example. I think now that test tracks
back open, as we discussed last summer, I think it takes in a
lot of people. So it'd be interesting to see
how that then affects the rest of the park, I think.
(13:41):
Yeah, I think it will, absolutely, Yeah.
Which, which, which one of those?
So assuming you only had one of those that you've just
mentioned, Josh, Guardians test track or what was the other one
you said Ratatouille. Ratatouille, which one?
Which one are you using? Which one are you using?
Your Tier 1. Guardians.
(14:04):
Has to be exactly I. Actually think the decision is
made for you by the fact that test track still has a single
rider line. Yeah, they had test track not
had a single rider line. I think it then becomes a bit
more of a a toss of a coin. I'd agree, but I don't think.
And you're right, You're right, Joe.
Yeah, the whole addition of the single rider into Ratatouille as
(14:25):
well as much as it adds the additional loading for the rag.
Which by the way, I would like to say I gave AGB Mickey Waffle
exclusive all last summer. You did, you did when they they
put the signs in, but they actually hadn't even announced.
They hadn't even announced that they were going to override me,
so there. You go, that's what that's what
I'm seeing you get to in the packs all the time.
(14:47):
It is anyway, I'll move on. We're going to go to Magic
Kingdom and I'm going to gloss over this right?
There's a huge amount of self editing going on here.
So this week Hall of Presidents reopened in Magic Kingdom, so a
handy place for some air conditioning for the summer
season returns. And that's all I'm going to say,
(15:09):
right? I'm not going to politicize it.
I'm not going to make the comment which I really want to
make. So I'm going to go on with the
show. But I am also going to include
the fact that this weekend is the final weekend of Tom Sawyer
round and on July the 7th it closes.
And by the looks of what work they've done already, and I
(15:30):
reckon the bulldozers are comingin very, very shortly.
And you know, I won't have a rant about it.
I've ranted about it enough, butI actually think I'm going to
miss that place. And, but as much as a lot of
people never bother just gettinga little boat across, I know us
as a family, we've been across numerous times.
I like to go photographs across there.
(15:51):
Looking back onto Big Thunder Mountain.
I've always been quite exceptional.
You'll always get a really different perspective of the
park and I'm going to miss it. I just.
I think it would be a big part of part of Magic Kingdom that's
that's lost with that how it looks.
They've got to basically they'vegot to put a big job in to get
(16:12):
it looking at least decent and not.
Just we've got concrete jungle on that side.
So I'm not, I'm not an advocate for what they're going to do,
but from the new concept part that came out a couple of weeks
ago, it shouldn't look an awful lot different from from the
Haunted Mansion sort of area. I think that river is staying to
(16:33):
a certain extent. So actually walking down towards
Splash Mountain sort of area, I think it should look something
else like it does now. But then it's obviously beyond
that that will be. But we're not allowed to call it
Splash Mountain anymore either. Another thing, which is another
thing that annoys me as well. But hey, that's, that's that's
another thing anyway, so, so that wraps up the news.
(16:56):
I'm just going to quick shout out.
We've got loads of people joining us in the chat, if
you're in the chat, as some people already have done
already, which is brilliant because I really like this.
And that's the whole point of what we do this on a Wednesday.
We want you to be part of the show.
Yeah, I'm not quite as quick as Ben is or clicking your name on
(17:18):
the screen, but do forgive me. I'll get there eventually.
But what I would say is what we're about to talk about, you
might have your own view on. And so be part of it.
Don't just go with what we're saying.
I've got, you know, I know that these guys have done a lot of
better homework on this, have done a lot more homework than I
(17:39):
have. And I actually feel that's where
by talking about four parts in aday, get your thinking caps on.
Once I've done this, once I've done who's in the chat, we'll
move on to tonight's proper chatas well.
So a big quick hello. There we go.
So we've got Jacob who was in infirst, which is good, but
(18:02):
quickly followed as always on a Wednesday by Heather.
Hello to you both. We've got Wendy, we've got Karen
and hello Karen. It's always good to see you back
up watching the show as well. And we actually had the great
fortune of meeting Karen in London when we actually did the
(18:22):
Disney 100 thing as well. Neil is in the chat as well.
Who, who was my first part of call, I hasten to add, for
coming on and chatting about allthese Disney tonight.
But Katie reminded him and then he remembered he hadn't replied
to me text, so I forgive him forthat.
You already. That's all right.
We get to a certain age, Neil. I can't remember what I did
(18:45):
yesterday. So it's it's an awful, yeah,
ages are awful thing. Sean, good to have you on board
as well. Thanks for joining us, mate.
From there, not too far away from where we are considered
just in Geordie, London, things like that.
I think we've got Wendy. Yeah, we've got Wendy.
(19:05):
And Wendy, you're actually really polite because Wendy
actually came in and said happy birthday to Becca and to Robin.
So thank you for that. I shall pass your well wishes
on. And I'm pretty sure when they
watch the show tomorrow or maybelater in the week, I think
that's that's a really good thing that they actually
recognize it. We were talking about them all
the time. Yeah.
(19:27):
And then Sean and Wendy both in the about you do guardians every
time. I think I actually think that's
spot and I don't think there's any way you get away from that.
And Sean, yeah, I totally agree.I think Wednesday should be what
grinds my dears. I I actually think if push came
to shove, I would just have had a whole hour of just talking to
(19:48):
yourself and having a run tonight.
But I'm pretty sure what we're about to do is going to be far
more entertaining than me just having a run.
Because actually, even me listening to me up in a rant is
not the greatest of things in the world.
It's not good. It doesn't, it doesn't make very
good podcasts on a Friday. But I'll come back to that
(20:09):
shortly, right? So here we go, 4 parts one day.
And actually I'll let you into asecret that we've actually done
this before and we did this as afamily.
So I'm going to just go a littlebit off, off kilter a little bit
here. Already we haven't even got
(20:29):
started. We.
Haven't even got started. So we did this for Josh's 12th
birthday, right. So that's it's now go that's
going back a bit going that's going to.
Be like I was. Probably I was. 910 years ago.
10 years ago, yeah, 10 years agoright now.
(20:49):
Do you both actually remember much of that?
Yeah, no, I remember what I remember meeting the cast of
Fanny Nemo the Musical. He was then me and Joe doing
Agent Pete in Germany and we met.
Dez Yeah. Yeah.
(21:11):
He highlights. So remember, because it was back
when we had paper fast passes, Ibelieve, and we raced into, we'd
raced into Hollywood Studios I think first, if I remember
right, I might be wrong to get fast passes for later in the day
or something like that. I don't 100% but I remember as
(21:34):
racing for fast passes in Hollywood studios at some point
to do Toy School Mania. Yeah, cheating system as we, as
you used to be able to do the one thing as well.
And I'm not sure if you rememberthis, but one of the best photos
we ever had taken was the four of us in Tower of Terror on our
(21:55):
own. And it was only as I was.
It was only as I was prepping with the show because I believe
I do, I do do a bit of prep and it doesn't always feel like it
on a Wednesday. But but remember because we had
Joshua had the birthday hat on and then you guys had birthday
T-shirts and we Allison had madeT-shirts for all those like 4
(22:16):
packs one day and things like that.
But when we came to ride Tower of Terror, we ended up in wind
at one end situations where someone was being less than
polite within the lift that we were in.
So we decided to go back round again.
But the cast member actually recognized us and actually
recognized the fact that someonewas being formed of a better
(22:39):
word, a bit of an idiot. And and so put us in the front
row of the lift and then just shut the door on it.
And we were actually, I think wewere all for it was just like we
were stunned at the fact that wejust got tower terror just to
ourselves. And again, it's one of them
things that you just never forget from from just doing
(23:01):
something that was just absolutely amazing.
And for you guys to have met Dez.
I know that was a big moment, but for myself, I actually
think, yeah, I think you've hit the nail, nail on the head
there, Joe. You were only 9 at the time.
And actually I think doing that any earlier, I think would have
(23:23):
been a real difficulty. I think it was.
It was fairly difficult at 9 probably.
You see, I yeah, I've got, I've got different things on this.
So let's, let's, let's start right.
So if we were to do it again, right, If we had to do it again
first of which. I did last time while I was out
(23:43):
now. I, I actually feel that I
actually feel it's easier than people make it out to be.
And I think that's that for me is, is quite a shocking thing to
come to on a show like this. I know when Ben did the the link
on on YouTube and and I actuallyput it, is it a recipe for sore
(24:08):
feet or is it a Disney book it bragging rights thing?
And I don't think it's either. I don't think it's bragging
rights. I just think it's something
that's really fun to do. But I also don't feel that.
I don't actually feel you have to work that hard and and.
Yeah, I think if you're tacticalabout it, it yeah, it's not too
(24:28):
bad because you're not like walking around let's say like
Frontierland like 10 times doinglike different stuff.
You're in there. Then you're out.
I actually think arguably as well, I think you can actually
get more done in four parks in one day and spending a whole day
in one park alone because you'renot taking a gamble on a park
(24:49):
being quiet. You're not taking a gamble on
when to ride, which ride, ride and when.
You just, you just have to get in there.
You know what you're doing straight away, no messing around
and you're gone, you know? Yeah, yeah.
How do you agree with me? And I think that's that's the
thing. It's not the type of thing where
you are probably going to just, you're not going to choose
(25:11):
something that's right at the far end of the park and then
something that's over on the other side of the park.
You want to go in, do something with yeah, and do something
that's memorable. And then and then you need to be
on the move again and actually not, not get distracted, which
(25:32):
is possibly the difficult bit because as everybody knows, I
have a tendency to get distracted And what you know,
you want, oh, there's only a shock to you for this.
Let's go and do that. You really do have to be quite
not not clinical, but you just have to stick with the plan.
Yeah. And you also need to understand
(25:53):
that the later in the day that you go, some of the character
meet and greets do close early. I know the one that we did, we
were, we were looking for a character meet and greet and
then we end. I think we ended up with Duffy
at the very end and there was a rainstorm incoming and we were,
I think we're the last people actually got to meet Duffy that
day because actually Duffy was off to seek a better shelter.
(26:18):
You are always touching. Chore.
If you have to go and meet Duffy, I think that's.
It's the laughing point that's the only.
Time I've probably ever met Duffy.
I think it is. Yeah.
I've thought you're right. So let's let's make let's make a
start on this. And actually, I'm going to ask
(26:41):
both of you the same question. It's going to be where about is
whereabouts are you actually going to start?
Which park are you choosing to begin your day?
I'll go go think Joe first. Oh, OK, yeah, go on.
So I'm going to start in Hollywood Studios.
So even though I know that Animal Kingdom opens at 8:00, so
(27:03):
an hour before few times for theselected rides that you would
probably actually want to ride in Animal Kingdom are still
usually quite high in that firsthour.
And if you're staying around present Lake, then you still get
a bit of more of a lie in. So that was my that was my
thinking for starting at Hollywood Studios.
(27:24):
And then you've already decided that you want to stay.
You're back in the beach club again, aren't you mate?
That's it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Spend them spending. That's money again.
That's it. OK, Like that idea.
Just what about you? Where you're going to start?
Yeah, I've been playing with theidea all day and I'm actually
going to make mine. So I still get going to do the
(27:46):
four parks in a day, but the park that I start in, I am also
going to end in. I'm going to start in Magic
Kingdom and I'm going to start aMagic.
Now we know where you're handed.Spoiler alert.
Going to start your Magic Kingdom solely for the purpose
(28:07):
that if I'm driving, OK, I'm going to get the front of the
parking lot and not right in theback of the parking lot.
So it saves any trouble at the end of the day.
Or if I'm staying, my preferencewould be the Grand Floridian.
So actually it's just a little stop off on the monorail on my
way in. I'm also I'm also starting there
(28:32):
actually because I'm looking towards other parts and to meet
the criteria that we want to meet, which is to do 2 rides and
a show. Yeah.
There's no shows in Magic Kingdom during the day that are
stuck to restricted times. You can go and see shows
throughout the day in Magic Kingdom.
So actually, let's say it's 9:30, ten o'clock in the
(28:52):
morning. You can still go and take that,
take that box if I've seen this show, and you can still be out
of there by 11:00. That's my first question.
So would you go in for a park opening That's that's a, that's
a little bit because, well, it'snot in.
There's got to be an understanding that actually if
you if you're actually going to do this properly.
(29:14):
And actually I even, I refer back to when you guys were
younger, we actually didn't do the last bit, which was I think
we were going to go and watch Fantasmic to finish the day and
go back to studios where we'd started.
We actually decided to go back to the villa and actually have a
pool night because actually thatwas a far more peaceful way of
(29:36):
actually just allowing what you've done to actually so covey
rather than just completely busted another two hours.
And to be honest, if you've beenout in the heat in Florida for
that length of time, you just need to be a little bit weary of
that as well. I've got, I've got that in the
middle. I'll, I'll tell you later, but
I've got a little bit in the middle for you for.
(29:58):
That sort of thing. It is important to take a rest
during the day, but my rest willbe in a park.
OK. Go on, Dad, what's your what's
Your So I'm going to I'm going to start an animal Kingdom
because actually I just think it's the most difficult 1 to get
in and out up. It's also the easiest 1 to get
an Uber to. So I would actually, I'm going
(30:22):
to Rupert and I'm going to use Disney transportation purely
from the fact I'm being really selfish in the fact that at some
point during the day I'm going to have to have a beer.
Because actually given how limited my ability to have
snacks and things like that, I think beer will be a nice little
snack out along the way. Yeah.
(30:44):
And I actually, I don't think I'd be want to get into Animal
Kingdom till around about 10, half 10.
And I've been a little bit a little bit clever and just
trying to avoid that morning rush.
And I'm basically going that way.
So that's not, that's my initialthought anyway.
(31:04):
So what, what are you going to do, Joe?
What are you doing when you get to studios?
So I'm heading straight to TowerTerror as my as my starter ride
because most people now will probably go to Star Wars.
So Tower Terror should possibly have a bit less of a less of a
cue to start off with and then go to Rock and roller coaster
(31:28):
seen as though it's right next door and do the single rider of
Rock and roller. Then on the way on the way back
into the middle of the park, go to get a lemon # cake from
Starbucks because it's actually put out.
I was looking and it's only it's$3.49 for a lemon # cake in in
(31:50):
that Starbucks, which is an affordable price for a good
breakfast item in in a park. And then for my meet and greet,
I've gone I've gone to the the back of the park.
So what what you didn't recommend doing, But I've gone
to Star Wars because the just the characters roam around.
(32:14):
So you don't actually have to queue.
You don't have to do any of thatsort of thing.
You can just go there. You might be lucky and get you
back and walking past you. You don't have to do anything.
Then quick photo and then you can and then you can leave.
So it's quite a quick transitionfor that one instead of having
to queue for you morning bushel 30-40 minutes.
(32:36):
That's good call, right? Good idea.
Yeah, different. Josh, what about you?
So I'm going in and I am probably going to head to the
back of the park. I'm going to probably the
purpose of the challenge, ignoreTomorrowland.
I'm going to head to Big ThunderMountain.
(32:57):
If it's open, I'm going to startoff back there usually when it
opens, because obviously if it'san extra magic hour morning,
whatever, I'm going to estimate it'll be about half an hour wait
time, which is less than what it'll be throughout the day.
So I'm going to do that and thenI'm going to go and make my way
to Tiana's because again, it's the Florida heat.
(33:19):
You're not going to get that work.
Just request the back if you don't want to get work
basically. And at that time in the morning,
there's not going to be barely aqueue for Tiana's at all.
I am then going to walk back to the side of Tiana's where they
serve beignets for my breakfast.Very nice breakfast option.
Then heading out of the back of the park, I'm going to go and
(33:42):
stop in at the brand new CountryBear Jamboree.
And I had done ticked off everything in that back corner.
And then as I walk back through,I'm going to walk through
fantasyland. I'm going to walk through the
castle. By this sort of time I'm
estimating about half 10. So actually you could catch a
second show of maybe the first stage show of the day or one of
(34:05):
the morning cavalcades that might be going by.
You never know what you might see on Main Street.
And as I walk down Main Street, get maybe a nice picture with a
photographer and I'm going to stop in to meet Mickey on the
way out. By which time you're probably
looking about eleven, 11:30 no. It's cool like that.
OK, I'm going to. Remember, I am returning, I am
(34:29):
returning to Magic Kingdom as well, so yeah.
We just want to mention to the people watching what our rules
were for. Yeah, social.
Parks in one. Day so Sean, just just because
Sean's actually got a really good idea of just doing like the
Tiki room then Star Tours and things like that.
So so we've actually made it a little bit more tricky because
(34:51):
actually that has to be I think when we did it originally, we we
we made it really complicated. We went for we went for food,
character meet and greet a pin. I think we did a pin training
and then I think it was a show and a ride.
I think we made it just one ridepurely purely from a point of
(35:16):
view, just being as quick as we could be.
And but the pin, it just became a lot to take off in each part.
You can complicate it even more, which I've tried to do and
actually use as many different forms of dizzy transport as you
can within the day. And there's no right or wrong to
it. And so you can make it, you can
(35:38):
make it a just a dip into each park and say, oh, you go, I've
done it. Or you can actually just make it
something that, you know, at theweekend I watched the resort TV
one. We're doing this exact thing as
a a live a live log over the weekend.
And it was very good. Not perhaps how we would have
(35:59):
done it, but hey, that's the whole thing about doing live
stuff on YouTube, isn't it? Because and the way it's, it's
what you want to get out of it. And if you want a better one,
you want to make it something that's memorable.
And this is this is one of thosethings that you actually sticks
with you. You know, it's one of them
brilliant things. So very quickly I'm, I'm going
(36:21):
down on Kingdom to begin with. All right, so I get dropped off
on you, but I'm going to go withanimal Kingdom.
I'm going to get every stone on the single rider line From
there, I'm going to chance and I'm going to try and do flight
passage purely because it's flight passage, right?
If I, if the queue's too long, Iwill have to have a plant in
(36:42):
reserve to go and just probably do the Navi River journey.
Just it's right next to it. We'll be stopping for a cinnamon
roll at the Starbucks simply because it's a really nice
Mickey cinnamon roll and it hitsthe spot first thing in the
morning. And you know exactly where we're
(37:04):
going for a show because actually, we'll get the first
Nemo show of the day. And you just turn up perfectly
at 11 AM. You're out there for half past a
quick wave to our friend Katie and we're sorted.
That's it. Yeah, Karen, I think you're
probably quite right. Probably the key flight
passenger would be, but I'm chanting me, that's all I'm
(37:26):
doing. Animal Kingdom used to be really
quick because obviously if you went into Dinoland and actually
probably if the if the flight ofpassage queue was too, too long,
I'd probably would go and do dinosaur because actually that
got us that got us out of a lot of things last summer.
Because again, even though it was meant to be closing acute
(37:48):
times were were pretty reasonable.
And I actually think it's rideability is is such that it
would fit something like this where you could get it done and
you could then move on. But finding Nemo the musical is
a must do and I think everybody knows that.
So I'm not going to I'm not going to make a big make a big
(38:08):
song and dance about it. But everyone else is not here.
So I can and I've got two peoplewho've enjoyed apparently they
made the musical with me for a good long period of time.
So we shall make a mention and, and hopefully we'll have a
podcast coming up very soon withKatie if, if she gets some time
off work. And that's her problem at the
(38:29):
moment. She's not she, she's currently
doing 3 jobs as only Katie Camp. That's that's another thing
anyway. So from Animal Kingdom or from
Studios or from Magic Kingdom, Joe, where are you going to next
from studios? I'm getting, I'm catching the
bus and I'm going to be heading over to Animal Kingdom.
(38:52):
Right. I'll, I'll probably wave to you
on the way past. I'll be way gone by the time by
the time you're. Over.
There that's how you finished flight of passage and by the
light is. There's there's method.
(39:12):
I mean madness servicing. OK, go on Josh, what's your
what's your part next? I'm going to go and meet you and
I don't know Kingdom actually. OK, OK.
And. I'm going to studios.
Oh, right. OK.
So, So what you doing? What you doing, Joe?
So I am going to head over to every single rider on my ride.
(39:35):
Yeah. And then also Dinosaur just
because I even put her. It was just one of my rides of
the summer last year. I don't know why but I've just
never really enjoyed Dinosaur until when we went last year.
However, the pre show does get very irritating very quickly.
It seems to be an animal Kingdomthing.
(39:58):
Yeah, but it used to be a Disneything.
And this, you know, for people in the chat who probably
remember the first version of Test track the film before.
The original test track was was nigh on exactly the same, only
swapped out a dinosaur theme as opposed.
And it was just like it was, it probably couldn't even be the
(40:18):
same actors that were in both films and they just got
different outfit. And it was just like it you
haven't you there and you're like, hurry along.
Yeah, a bit like what you do with dinosaur now when you're
just willing that door to open. Yeah, yeah.
Especially there's five of the queue.
Surprised in the door open yourself.
(40:39):
Or, or if you're quick, you can Sprint and get from one side to
the other before that door shut. You feel tired as well when that
happens. I used to just do a quick flash
in the blue idea and just go look, I've got to get to work.
You just let me through. So yeah, after that, Nemo for me
(41:01):
is going to be the show. But I'll it'll either be the
11:00 one if I've managed to getstudios during time which.
You might you might be there at the same time as me them.
Yeah, but I'm going for the 12:00 one, so that will probably
be in the middle of the two sides here.
So obviously those are my 2 rides.
Should get them done pretty quickly.
(41:21):
Then for my snack, I'm going to walk over to Avatar and I'm
going to go for the cheeseburgersteam pods from the Satui
canteen which are on the. Kids menu so you get 2 you get 2
like little I tell you what you've like you've gone cheap on
(41:41):
the food for two the first two parts of the day, right.
You've also you've sold me out on the hotel, but you're saving
money now, so. Yeah, yeah.
Good. So, so we're we're here good
portion size because obviously it's 1.
So if there's two of you, you can even share the two if you
don't want to have too much at this point.
It is. It's fairly expensive.
(42:02):
It's like, I think it's $8.50, but you get crisps with it and
it comes on a nice little plate as well.
And then for my meet and greet, I've gone for Doug and Russ.
I missed. I missed them out from my animal
Kingdom. That was the one I was going to.
Go to that one you've gone for. Yeah.
So that's about my option if that's definitely if Blue isn't
(42:26):
there, because I'm not sure if he still possibly comes out from
time to time. He is very hit and miss on a
very short, like not very much at all anymore.
But that was was one that I was like, I'll sneak it in there if
I can. But yeah, they're, they're
probably my, probably my, that's, that's my animal Kingdom
(42:47):
done for you. No, that's a good one.
I've got to say this. This is really interesting
because in the chat, Neil's comeup with something.
Actually, I think it's really pertinent to the whole thing in
this. And that is the fact that, you
know, when you do it is actuallyto make sure that, you know, you
set the rule, set the rules yourself, because actually
(43:08):
that's probably the best way of actually doing it.
They did a photo with Mickey andMinnie in each park outfit.
A rider show a snag a photo witheach park icon.
Yeah, don't get me started on that one.
They'll I'll end up with anotherrant like I did a few weeks ago.
You know, Hollywood studios needto park icon.
I got I got sidetracked on Twitter over the weekend with
(43:30):
somebody somebody called grant seeker, which I thought was very
dinosaur based as well and aboutthe fact that yeah, bring the
hat back. But that's that's that's that's
another show completely. I like that, Joe, and that fits
nicely. Josh, what are you doing?
So I'm going into animal Kingdom.
(43:50):
I hoping to arrive about 11:30 so I'm probably going to go in
for the same showing of Nemo as Joe at 12:00.
If I miss the 12:00 there's one at 1:00 before they take their
lunch break so we're all good. I too would also go and write
Dinosaur, but I'm going to look into the non too distant future
where we don't have Dinosaur. So I'm going to watch Nemo, then
(44:13):
walk around and do single rider Everest and then going to head
to the back of the park. And I'm going to do Kilimanjaro
Safari and which by midday, as long as there's no elephants out
on the track or giraffes in the way, you should be on a decent
enough wait time. I'm then going to walk back
through the Birdland area and I'm going to hope that in the in
(44:37):
the hope that I meet Kevin doinga walk around the park.
I thought you were going to say in the hope that you didn't meet
any birds, because I know, I know how much I know how much
you love being around sort of feathered.
Bird. You know how much, how you know
and when we used to do Birds in Flight of just how much that
really you just felt completely in control of yourself for the
(44:58):
entire show? You know the first one, you're
going to give us a swerve for four packs in a day?
I don't. You a leg in it out of that.
You have a leg in it out of thatplace simply because, yeah, you
don't like birds, but hey, that's your choice.
You're of an age now where you make your own decisions.
You can't blame it on your mum and dad anymore, which is good.
So now I'm going to meet Kevin anyway.
(45:19):
Yeah. He strolls the park throughout
the day, so it's a pretty commonsight and I Much to Morgue's
disbelief, I'm sure I'm going toavoid Tibers for my snack and
instead I'm going to go for the relaxed ambience of the Nomad
Lounge. I'm.
Sorry, your age now, can't you? That's it.
(45:39):
I'm going to sit with a nice cocktail in one hand and I'm
going to have the chicken satay skewers.
So just a light little snack, you know, nothing too major.
I'm going to avoid the This is atip for everyone to avoid the
the hot dogs from the fast food stands around animal Kingdom is
that. Is that from inside the
(46:00):
knowledge of where? The hot dogs?
Not at all. No, no, no.
Just a general comment. Yeah, yeah.
So that would conclude my trip to Animal Kingdom.
I've done a nice little small loop.
Round there you go. That's nice that just going to
pick up Wendy. What a lovely comment.
He just reminded me that when Belou and King Louis were meet
(46:24):
and greet and this is going backa few years.
I think I've spoken about this before, but there's a picture of
Joe and it must be, oh, at least20/12/2013.
Not maybe even before, because it was before.
It was actually before Pandora was being built.
It was when there was a meet andgreet.
(46:45):
Yeah. And I believe it was just
tickling it to death. And it was just like you were
crumpled a heap on the floor. It's just one of them moments.
Just the giggles were just so was so much that it becomes one
of those little magic moments that you actually remember.
And then Neil, yeah, we we did the same thing as well.
(47:06):
I know there's people in the chat who don't like and there's
people on the show not mentioning Claire in any way,
shape or form who don't like matching T-shirts, but we
actually had individual T-shirtsfor the day as well.
And it actually added so much toit, apart from the fact that
both the boys had it's it's my birthday.
(47:29):
Because obviously in Disney, in Disney terms, if it's if it's
birthday time, back in those days, people treated you
differently. Hannah, I'm totally with you.
Bring back the parade because itwas even looking back on it now
you don't actually understand. And Josh, you probably you're
probably really so on point about this as well.
(47:51):
As much as we've talked about Epcot's afternoon parade in the
past, looking at Animal Kingdom and looking at trying to put
Land Rovers and parade vehicles through that park whilst you're
actually on an outdoor vending standard, you probably would end
up beginning to wonder where thespace for a parade actually
(48:12):
came. From yeah, I think, and I think
that certainly something that, you know, you're probably more,
I'm probably more aware of now than I was before.
You think about when the parade used to happen.
It's not so much an issue in Magic Kingdom, you know, there's
still walkways accessible, things like that.
Whereas in Animal Kingdom that whole, the whole park was
(48:33):
basically a lockdown between probably an hour before the
parade and then half an hour after the parade.
And if you're looking towards the way Disney are now and more
of it, looking at it as a business actually running a
parade, you've lost all the merch stands, you've lost access
even to, you know, the, the shops, the you know, book
(48:55):
service booths, you know, and. People are not moving, are they?
And looking back at it probably halted a lot of people who
weren't bothered about the parade.
But we're just trying to get from one place to another.
I'm not really sure how you backin those times you could have
got through as much as we do miss the parade personally as
well, but. I think what what the one thing
(49:16):
that they do a tie a bit now, but they could definitely make
it into a parade type thing is actually on the lake because
they have like the the drummers and stuff like that go across,
yeah, across the lake a couple of times a day and stuff like
that. And they've obviously got that
seat in as well that goes down. So people are actually want to
(49:36):
watch this is an. Interesting one, right?
I'd, I'd read the other day about people on, on Twitter and
things like that saying about how it's such an underused
space. And actually in 2025, we still
have Animal Kingdom shut in at 6:00 in the middle of summer.
I think what as I say, and I learned this last summer, and I
think Disney personally think Disney should be shouting this
(49:58):
from the rooftops really, is that over the course of since
the pandemic, Disney have not only been accredited with a
greater level of animal care certificate.
So they're currently, I don't remember the exact name of it,
but they're currently basically one of the top zoos in the
entire of America. And they're also bound to keep
(50:20):
that title. They're bound to give a greater
level of care to the animals. And actually since COVID and
that title being given to them, if they do not shut at 6:00,
that title be stripped away fromthem.
And I think they view that titleto be more beneficial to the
company and keeping that park open later.
I shared this on a show quite a while ago and John Self was
(50:41):
actually watching the show and actually because he does quite a
lot park based and certainly looks at Busch Gardens and goes
to SeaWorld etcetera. And actually, he actually pulled
me on it and said actually that's kind of an overstated
thing. They can still open later as
long as they have that hair for the animals is of that standard
(51:03):
that they have now. And I think.
I think when but. When you look at that, if you
were to give that care to the animals, you'd have to shut the
safari still at 6:00, an animal Kingdom in its current state
with Dinoland being gone, and then you're also doing shut
Africa at the back of the park. You can't operate a full theme
park for three hours with only Everest and Pandora open.
(51:26):
It's not. It's not sustainable.
Get them in the queue. With the opening earlier though
as well, that hour earlier in the morning kind of gives at
least a longer park day in general as well I think.
I think once Dine Island's been reconstructed into the South
America idea that they've got common.
(51:48):
I think once that has been done,I think you then start to have a
park that evolves around with Africa just in the corner.
I think you can have a park that's in existence without
Africa, whereas currently I don't.
I think Africa is a massive partof that park.
Yeah. Probably actually half of the
park basically at the minute, and if you can't have that open
(52:11):
due to the due of care for the animals, I don't think it's
sustainable to open the park at all.
I'm going to say, where are you heading?
I'm going to Hollywood studios. So from annual Kingdom, I'm
going to have to get the bus, which inevitably takes way too
long for my liking. And so that'll just give me
something to complain about. We're going to go to studios.
(52:35):
I'm going to go and do Tower of Terror, irrespective of how long
in Kiwis because I have to do Tower of terror.
It's just it's a it's a non negotiable.
I would do Rock'n'roll in the single rider line.
However, I would be looking on my Disney experience just to see
how long the queue was for Rise of the Resistance.
(52:55):
Now I'd actually, I've actually been right now last trip, last
trip report day from the studios.
I had forgotten just how much detail is in the whole of that
area and and just how much actually, even though I'm not a
ghost, I was from the actual detail within the holy galaxy's
(53:16):
edge is just quite incredible. And I actually, it's one of
those places that I'm really looking forward to actually just
immersing myself again and even just to walk through, because
even that transition between ToyStory Land and I know, but you
guys silly about it. But the fact, the very fact you
(53:39):
can go from Toy Story around where you've got the noise
that's coming from Slinky Dog. And yet you walk through that
kind of curved walled area and you then into Galaxy's Edge.
You have no sound bleed as if it's as if there's a wall that
goes up forever. And it's, it's absolutely
(54:00):
incredible to be part of. But Tara, Tara is no brainer.
What I would do for me is snack.I would have to, I would have to
go to the baseline tap house andhave the charcuterie bought a
beer because actually by this time it's time for a beer.
But the charcuterie bought in there is just beautiful.
(54:22):
And actually that's, that's one of the things from last year
that I really enjoyed eating. And then the show, I'm going to
cheat a little bit. And this again, Josh, this is
something you introduced us to last year.
It was, it's such a missed little nugget within the studios
(54:42):
and loads of people don't see it.
Loads of people are not aware ofit.
But it's the little Mickey and Minnie Theatre showing the and
it's got it's got those Mickey Mouse seats in it as well.
Yeah, it's the holiday holiday show, isn't it?
Just amazing. It's just absolutely through
(55:03):
Disney, Disney animation. And then obviously from a meet
and greet, I'm probably going tosee Minnie at the back of there
because nobody, nobody actually knows it's there.
So it's usually quite a quick, aquick meet and greet.
I'm just very aware guys. Your mom said, oh, we'll
probably get an hour. So we're now currently at 57
minutes and we've done 2 parks and in true Mickey what full
(55:27):
fashion. It's not my fault.
And I actually, I actually feel that this is something, again, I
think as Neil said earlier, makeit your own.
If you're going to do something like this, go and make it your
own. And actually it is such a fun
thing to do because it just makes you, it makes you look at
the park in a completely different way because you you're
(55:51):
trying to tick stuff off and thewhole day is about getting to
the next part. So from from you guys being in
Animal Kingdom, where are you going next, which is probably
going to be a really easy answer.
I think we're probably all goingto meet up here.
I'm going to Disney Springs. OK, All right, so for my nice
(56:12):
little break, I'm going to sit in my air cond bus to Disney
Springs. I get there OK, And then just to
to slow down a bit and have an actual sort of meal for the day.
I'm going to go to Blaze, OK, for my make your own pizza at
Blaze. So I think this is a good option
(56:33):
to go for because it's $12.00 for a full pizza and you can't
really in in most of the parks, you can't really get a meal like
that for that for that price andthat quality.
So I'm going to take a little break, go to Disney Springs, and
(56:55):
then from Springs I'm going to Magic Kingdom.
Oh. Yeah, so in Magic Kingdom, I'm
going to get in there for the 3:00 parade, hopefully just
missed that. Then I'm going to go
Tomorrowland for my for my 2 rides.
(57:18):
So I'm going to get onto Speedway and People Mover, OK,
And then also do the Carousel ofProgress as my show.
And this is Magic Kingdom for meis is going to be a quick in and
out really, which might be a little bit controversial.
So yeah, quick in and out of of there and then possibly
(57:42):
Barnstormer if we're lucky, and then go across to the Aloha
Island aisle for the Dole Whip, which I think's got to be done
no matter what, which is $5.99. So that's quite expensive for
the day, but it's worth it at the price.
(58:04):
But if you don't, a good thing to know is if you don't like
pineapples, then you can go to the Sunshine Tree Terrace and
get the the strawberry and orange options there as well.
So it definitely keep that one in mind.
And then from a meet and greet, it would have been Town Square
(58:25):
Mickey. However, when the 3:00 parade is
on, obviously Mickey has to go. Yeah.
And do that. So the queue usually gets quite
busy. So.
So I'm going to, I'm not sure ifI'm going to be allowed this,
but I've gone for Grayson. OK, So the piano player that's
(58:47):
outside of Casey's corner, OK, has to be.
You've got to go and meet him. And I think it's a great meet
and greet to have in as your as your meet and greet for the day.
And he's been there for the past10 years.
So I'm pretty sure everyone in this watching tonight has
probably heard Grayson play as they walk down walk down Main
(59:11):
Street. So that is going to be my Magic
Kingdom experience. That's quality.
That's quality. And this is this is the fun of
doing this. Karen, thank you for for your
lovely comment that, yeah, it isn't really nice as well.
And also the fact that, yeah, bargain, bargain seeking,
bargain seeking kids. Yeah, I'm quite proud of that.
(59:34):
And then but Neil, Neil then does correct me on the fact or
is it being tight? Yeah, thanks.
If I paid for the beach pub we need, we need to be saving.
Yeah, I had this picked up as well.
That price of the pizza blaze isactually quite something.
And and the fact that you can make it to to your own sort of
(59:55):
specification irrespective of what your food needs are as
well. And they do include a base
that's gluten free as well, which I, yeah, I think I likened
it a little bit to. To go into subway, there's
there's a whole raft of questions, but it's a it
actually you get exactly what you want and and I actually that
(01:00:15):
was that was one of a really, really good meal that as well
so. Yeah, I think I think it's worth
worth taking the time out of outof the park as well to actually,
actually go and get that. Yeah.
OK. Because if you feel like you're
getting a proper, a proper meal from it as well, rather than
going down that route of just trying to off your face with
(01:00:36):
anything so. Yeah, you should have been on
the Shaky 3 board. I mean, the studios up here,
you'd be fine. That's going to see me through
the rest of the day that you know.
I did put a special mention to the loaded fries at Casey's
corner that that was that was there.
They are incredible. The full pork on the top.
Yeah. This is this is great.
(01:00:58):
Neil's on your case here, Joe aswell.
You see here if there's three refills before ordinary coat.
The thing is now The thing is Neil, he's now of an age where
it's now a case that he it's notCoke that he's ordering.
And unfortunately, if you go into the pub, it's not.
The free refill on the bear, I'dsay yeah.
(01:01:22):
Joshua, you go in next. I'm going to Epcot.
Yeah. And I'm looking at it being
about 2:00 in the afternoon. So I'm going to do Spaceship
Earth as soon as I arrive. Yeah, I am then going to make my
way onto World Showcase. And this is where my chill out
time comes. I'm going to have a little saunt
(01:01:45):
around Showcase. Nothing, nothing too extreme.
I'm going to have a Schoenhofer in Germany.
I'm going to continue walking around and just see, see what
you find because you just never know.
I'm then going to use my meet and greet as the voices of
liberty in the America Pavilion. That's quality.
(01:02:09):
However, my my show is both. Both of you really thought about
this. I'm really impressed about that.
My my show is not going to be the American adventure, however.
Yeah, I'm going to watch the Voices of Liberty.
I'm then going to stop in at theUK and that is where I'm
actually going to have my dinnerfor the evening.
(01:02:32):
It's not going to be Japan. Controversial, I know, but I'm
going to have, and this is one of my only because this is one
of my fondest memories of last summer was I'm going to get the
fish and chips from the take away.
I'm going to go and get myself atake away pint of Guinness from
the Rose and Crown and I'm goingto sit in the lovely garden area
(01:02:55):
around the back of the UK pavilion and the band come on
about 5:00. And actually last year the band
would again, it depends year to year, but the band in the UK
pavilion was superb. And I remember we sat on when we
did it a couple of times. We sat on the benches and we sat
on the floor, you know, just taking it in.
(01:03:17):
And Wendy, that you were actually both of you're
actually. Yeah.
I was going to come back to cheeseburger spring rolls, get
ironic magic. Yeah, we will do anyway.
So then, so I've got my show. I've only done one ride.
So then I'm going to head back towards the front of the park or
on my way to front the park. I'm going to stop in at the
land. And I'm around this sort of
(01:03:39):
time. It's going to be, you know,
about five, 5:30-ish. I'm going to go and have a quick
look at what the soaring wait time is.
Anything about 20 minutes, probably not going to.
However, my choice, soaring or not, would always be to go and
do a living with the land as well.
Again, keeping that really nice relaxed slow theme to the to the
(01:04:01):
time in Epcot. Yeah.
And then make my way towards France to get the sky liner.
And that's the transition to my next.
Yeah, yeah. Now, this is quite intriguing
because actually I actually feelthat, you know, amongst us all,
there is that ability to actually take this, to take the
(01:04:23):
pace out of the day. And I know I say this an awful
lot, but I think it's really important because actually it
doesn't matter how old you are that if you're going, just, if
you're going and just ticking stuff off or you just go in and
just basically fulfilling what you my Disney experience plans
are for the day. You're actually missing a whole
(01:04:44):
lot of really good stuff that's that's actually within each and
every park. And again, if you, you know, if
you're listening to us for the first time and you actually want
a little bit of advice about what your next trip should be.
And it will be exactly what these two guys have just said.
It's just like plan for a littlebit, little bit of downtime, a
(01:05:06):
little bit of time where you just soak it up because you
spend so much time during the year working.
You go on hold and then you're suddenly in this sort of
regimented and this desire to gowith like full Pell.
And yet you don't need to. And even doing 4 parts in one
day, you don't need to do it at that level of of speed.
(01:05:27):
And you don't need to do it at that level of basically it just,
it doesn't have to be just full on it.
Find time. I'm really, yeah, I know it
sounds really strange, but you've actually got that whole
mantra. I think that's such a lovely
thing to, to actually know that that will be passed down
forever, which is quite, quite athought.
(01:05:51):
I'm going to Epcot next and I, Ireally have to think about this.
And you'll find out why I chose Epcot in this slot when I get to
my my end of day. And very probably if I'm coming
from the studios, I would probably get a friendship boat
just to save me legs and actually just to just to soak up
(01:06:13):
that entry into that part of thepark as well, because it is
special. And it is still one of the most
favorite places that you know. Yeah, you don't get the whole
Epcot Spaceship Earth Bowl experience as you're coming in.
But actually, it is such a serene area.
And yeah, so giving Joe a wave at his hotel that he's paying
(01:06:36):
for on the way past might be quite a good one.
And I'd get me, I'd get me a little snack out of the way
quite quickly. And I would, I'd probably just
go to France Pavilion. I'd go to the blue lingerie and
get something in there. I probably would avoid, I say,
and avoid the Rose and crown. But actually I know fine.
(01:06:57):
Well, I probably would go the Rose and crown as well as
getting the glass of champagne, glass of champagne in France and
then going for it, probably going for a strong bow in the
the Rose and crown. But hey, that's.
You've got to watch these hours of them, yeah.
That's the reason I didn't bringthe car.
And probably and this, this is the bit where you can either
(01:07:19):
you've got choices here. You can either take your time
and go and have a science aroundWorld Showcase and it doesn't
matter how slow you ever want togo.
My idea of doing World Showcase can be at various paces.
You can either do a lap World Showcase or you can go and
explore all the pavilions. I probably would just head
(01:07:41):
around to Morocco and just go and meet Jasmine and Abaladdin
because because of the back of the pavilion, it usually is
quite a short cube. And I thought your, your
suggestion, the Voice of LibertyJosh was quite an inspired 1.
I think that's that's I think anybody, anybody's listening to
this on Friday on the podcast. That is one of the hints and
(01:08:03):
tips we did mention in the startof the month podcast, which I
haven't plugged yet, but it's probably just a moment to do it
and it'll save us doing at the end of the show.
So if I find a nice little tick here, because what we did manage
to do is take us around, we'll showcase a little bit more.
(01:08:25):
And what we did, we did the American Pavilion, we went to
Japan and we went to Morocco. But again, for everybody
watching in the US, it was very much a a little bit of a nod
towards Independence Day, which I think is on Friday, isn't it?
(01:08:46):
So have a have a wonderful weekend in America because
actually you guys are. It's going to be a proper
Independence weekend. And I think we.
Yeah, it's one of those podcaststhat I know that it takes a
little bit of listening to because we keep throwing loads
and loads of information, but itjust shows how much is an app
(01:09:07):
cut. And probably for me, I would
probably put my headphones in and just I'd have to walk around
in the order in which you've done the pavilions.
But just picking up on some of the detail that we've actually
given throughout the whole series through this year.
And, and again, if you want a little bit more information
about that, go and check this out on the socials because
(01:09:29):
actually you will find loads andloads more stuff.
But you'll find the other shows that we talk about Epcot as
well. I don't know.
It's just, it came from something that I did last year
with Claire as part of married to a Disney Addict and their
podcast where we, we, we did a troll round the UK pavilion.
(01:09:50):
And you guys, you, you both wereunder the premise.
I'll just be an hour. And I think it was about 2 1/2
hours later, Claire and I, I wasjust one of them.
It's just like you don't realizeuntil you start looking and
still until you start digging into some of these pavilions
(01:10:11):
within Epcot, it's just how goodthe, the imagineering is.
And that's, that's why I've beensuch, so like to do that show.
And I'd have to go and do sorry. And I'd have to go and do living
with the land as me, right? And just purely for the fact
it's sorry and living with the land just to see if Josh's
bananas are still there and whether they were still growing.
(01:10:33):
I think that's me done with Epcot.
We're doing well. We might break the record for
the longest Wednesday show now if we're not if we're not
careful. And so last show of the day, and
this is this is a bit, it's justlike this is there's no right or
wrong to this. I really struggled by not
choosing Epcot last because normally I would always choose
(01:10:55):
Epcot last. Joke.
Where are you going? So I'm getting the monorail from
Magic Kingdom across to Epcot for the finale of the day.
So for me, the feeling of walking around World Showcase,
especially when the either the sun's going down or it's gone
(01:11:16):
and then you've got the fire that come the, the, what do you
call them? The, the big Spires that have,
have the fire coming out of the top.
They're like seeing, seeing themas you walk around Showcase that
there isn't a, for me, there isn't a better feeling.
So that's, that's my, that's my finale.
And it's a nice, it's a good relaxing end of the day.
(01:11:37):
You've got, you know, you can just have a little walk around
World Showcase and drop in for abeer where you like, if you can
drink it. Yeah.
And then my 2 rides I'd go for Ratatouille single rider and
test track single rider. So both single riders.
So you can probably get them done pretty quickly.
(01:11:58):
So for snack wise, as we've already have the main snack of
the day as as the pizza, we don't actually need too much to
eat for the evening. So I've gone for the pulled pork
sweet and sour pineapple chutneymini doll burger that I got
(01:12:22):
during the Food and Wine festival last year, which was
just absolutely incredible. It doesn't sound great and it's
a very long title so they shouldprobably shorten it, but.
Just just doing do it on mobile, ordering it cuts out all that
trying to make yourself. Understood, trying to explain
it, but it is it's a really niceoption.
(01:12:44):
It's a it's a small like slider,slider burger.
It's fairly expensive at $6 for for what you get.
However, it's a nice nice end and I did work out that in total
for the day the spending of foodfor me would only be at $36,
(01:13:07):
which I think for a full day's food is is very good.
Yeah, you're just. You're justifying spending £400
on a hotel room for the night. I'll let you.
I'll let you. Off for that.
I'm not in mine. I'm not in mine for next time,
eh? So for my meet and greet, I was
(01:13:28):
going to go for Baymax, then I was going to go for Joy, and
then I realized that none of them have even shown up in the
parks for the past few years dueto changes.
Around the changes, yeah, yeah. Yeah, which is I think it's a
really big shame, seen as thoughthey were one of my best meet
(01:13:48):
and greets. I think anyway.
Especially Baymax. I Remember Me and me, Josh, and
then Reese's, two kids of no Reese's, Neil, Reese and Katie,
We went with them as well and itwas just an amazing experience
(01:14:08):
to see them. So I've actually gone and we're
going to be heading to the community Core hall to finally
go and see Mickey and friends there.
Seen as though it's usually a pretty short queue because they
get it done pretty quickly and so that's going to be that's
(01:14:31):
going to be my meet and greet and then obviously for the end
of the day I will be seeing Luminous yeah.
Which I just think is the best as as a person who doesn't
really like the the full crowd of standing there waiting for an
hour and a half in your spot in Magic Kingdom and then 5 minutes
(01:14:56):
before the start you get a dab coming standing in front of you
and then putting their kid on your shoulders.
That is not my idea of of a nicea nice time and.
Especially the kid on your shoulders is usually not a good
thing. Joe must say mate puts his kids
on his own. Shoulders and then yeah.
So it's not, it's not really my ideal, ideal place.
(01:15:18):
It's very cramped as well down Main Street.
So I I think you know, it's again.
It's one of the longest. Shows as well.
You've done a tracking job like this and actually, I must admit
the fact that, and I know Heather's, Heather's pointed out
as well, is actually, you know, costing the food of what you
would spend during the day, I think is a really important
(01:15:40):
thing in respect to budget. And you might need to come back
on the show again given the factor.
And and I know fine well that, you know, this is something that
when I asked you if you want to be on the show, you've actually
embraced so much and I really appreciate that.
And just going back to Sean in the chat and talking about Epcot
(01:16:00):
as well. I actually, I actually think
this is the bit that I found really difficult to leave Epcot
in, in just my as my third park. But the fact that that podcast
has seen Sean through his cardiosessions.
There you go. That's probably a good thing.
Walking through through well showcase whilst you listen.
It was always a good thing. And Hannah is just is such a
(01:16:25):
lovely place. These two we walked around Welsh
showcase when they were much, much younger.
I think it's probably for the first time Joe was in a
pushchair. Probably.
It did feel like that longest walk ever.
I think we we tended to, you know, whichever way the sun was
shining. It used to be either you you'd
(01:16:46):
be looking at getting a bit of abetter song on your, your face
and your, the front ear legs or if it was the other way round,
you get the you feel the sunburnon the back here like so it it
definitely did take a little bitlonger as well.
And Josh, where are you going? I know you've got a little twist
at the end here as well, so. OK, so I'm heading on the
(01:17:08):
skyline across to Hollywood Studios is the reasoning for
this, and I'll mention the twist, but for this purpose of
four parks in a day, I don't think I'll do it, but we'll get
to that in a second. The purpose of the fact that I
last summer, really. So when I finished work about
(01:17:28):
5-6 o'clock, I found the studiosaround that sort of time to be
probably one of the best parks on Disney property as far as
calmness and actually relaxationout of the whole all four parks.
And I think it stems from that. Phantasmic has varying
(01:17:49):
showtimes. You know, it can be 8, half, 8-9
and a half nine, any of them. But actually 2 hours before
Fantasmic starts showing, everyone starts to go and gather
around the whole complex at the back there.
So actually the whole park starts to quieten down.
And I would get into the park about 6:30 on average.
(01:18:09):
And I would walk up Sunset Blvd.and at the top there would be
Mickey Minnie's Runaway. And I never saw that attraction
to be over half an hour Q My whole summer out there last
year. So I would go and do that
straight away is my favorite ride in the park.
So I'll do that and then I will let yourself go and watch the
(01:18:31):
the Mickey and mini short near the meeting group for Mickey and
Minnie and Ola. I'll then go and do Star Tours
on the way past because at the end last summer, that sort of
time, 5 minutes walk on every single time.
Then we'll make my way through Star Wars landed a bit similar
to Joe. I will either meet Ray or
(01:18:52):
Chewbacca or whoever's doing walkabouts in the park.
And then this is where the twists will come in.
Because actually if you are doing this challenge towards the
end of the summer or heading into the full autumn full time
when the Fantasmic starts showing around eight 8:30.
(01:19:13):
Now with the new showtimes across in Magic Kingdom, it
actually provides you the opportunity that if Fantasmic is
beef up a state or before, you could go and sit in Fantasmic
and sit in actually one of my favorite areas, which actually
isn't front on. It's more on your way into
Fantasmic. Because not only do you get the
(01:19:36):
best view of the front of the stage there, you have no poles
in the way. You also see a lot of the behind
the scenes around the back, which I find to be quite cool.
You're also the first out and that's where I'll have my snack
in Hollywood Studios and I'll have my lemonade cup.
And again, this is under the proviso that the park is well.
(01:19:57):
The fantasm is going to be between 8:00 and 8:30, with
Happily Ever After now being pushed back to A10 O clock
showing instead of the previous nine O clock showing and with
the new parade having a showing after fireworks.
It is now possible once again, like it was a decade ago, to
make your way from Hollywood studios into Magic Kingdom.
(01:20:19):
Now Fantasmic will finish at 3 minutes to 9 and we are talking
about fine margins. Fantasmic is now 27 minutes
long. You will then.
You're not going to be the person though that heads out as
soon as the boat goes round the corner like my pet peeve is in
Fantasmic. Don't do that.
Stay. Until stay until the final words
in the final. So my imagination.
(01:20:42):
Exactly, that's your moment. As soon as he said that, make
your way out and by the time youget to the front of the park to
the buses should be around 9:15 because you'd be ahead of the
crowds. Also worth noting too that at
that time the show is going on at the front of Sunset Blvd., so
(01:21:02):
actually you have time there because people are going to be
crowded around there. So you can make your way out.
By the time you get the bus to Magic Kingdom.
I think you could get there for about 9:45 very realistically
and you can watch Happily Ever After and you can also watch the
(01:21:24):
parade to end your thought parksin one day.
That sounds quite cool, I think.I think we're on to something
here. And I've actually This is why
I've left Magic Kingdom till theend.
And I wasn't, I wasn't ever going to do that in the past.
But given the fact that I don't think it would really matter
(01:21:44):
what sort of time you get in andyou'd probably get short queue
times for Space Mountain, it could be any.
I'm not even going to name a ride because I'll just go and
take whatever I can get on. But during the course of when
the first first night time parade is on, do that.
(01:22:05):
I think you've got you've got there's a real window there,
Josh. And I think it would very much
depend upon how lucky you get with with timings and things.
But that would be an amazing thing to be able to do.
But I'm going to go Magic Kingdom as my last one.
I probably would have to go and see Mickey just as we meet and
greet and just as a as bringing the whole day together.
(01:22:29):
I'd have to go to Casey's for some of them.
Loads of chips that you may mentioned earlier, Joe, because
actually the chili chips with cheese and stuff, that was
something actually I found I could eat quite easily.
And probably by that time of day, ice cream probably wouldn't
be the one. And but this summer, once we now
have 10:00 fire workshop in Magic Kingdom and then the
(01:22:53):
parade on both sides of that Magic Kingdom becomes alive
again. And then know a whinge about the
fact that Tom Sawyer Island is going away.
But and the and the fact that big Thunder mountains are not
not going to be open and soft. But the very fact in being magic
Kingdom much later, I think really opens up an opportunity
(01:23:18):
to actually really do it properly.
And for me that was that was going to be my little trick.
And then Josh, you've done the same thing.
So it's definitely, it's definitely something and
actually that second parade, as was always the case when the
spectrum magic and when it was mainstream electrical parade, if
you missed the first one and just like it is for the
(01:23:41):
Halloween parting, the second parade is always quieter and you
actually get much better sight lines and it kind of brings
children. Yeah, I also think a lot of
people don't realise that the second children of the parade,
they've seen it once, they've then seen the fireworks, then
(01:24:02):
they leave. And that's why I don't think a
lot of people know sometimes that there.
Isn't, I think if you've been inthe park, you've been in the
park all day. I actually feel that after the
fireworks is probably the time where you just like it's time to
go. But and that's the reason that
was the original reason for for not starting quite so early is
actually just to allow that little bit of longevity in the
(01:24:25):
day so that you're actually you're actually able to enjoy
that. That second parade time I think
is going to be something that I think it's going to be something
that I certainly will make most of.
And yeah, I really do feel, I really do feel it's something
else. And.
I think, I think less, less queues coming out of the parks
(01:24:48):
as well after that, you know, especially to get get your Uber
or whatever. Yeah, and also and also you guys
have put up with me forever going on about that, that exit
to Magic Kingdom after a crammedfirework, firework show into a
(01:25:09):
crammed experience on the monorail.
And you're just thinking, you know, how long have you actually
spent enjoying today? And it's just like, yeah, it's
just one of them. That's one of the main reasons
why I picked Epcot to end with, because it does.
It just becomes an absolute manic like rush to try and get,
(01:25:33):
you know, get out and then it's,yeah, it's not worth it.
But if you can get the resort monorail, yeah, or if you can
walk to your resort like Josh will be able to do if he's
staying. Over there.
Yeah. There you go.
He's yeah, he's paying. He's paying Wesley on his floor,
Joe. That's about it, you know?
(01:25:54):
It makes it a lot easier to get in and out I think.
Yeah, it does. And and Jerry, something that
is, I can't believe how long this show's gone for.
And we could go on forever and ever and ever because it is such
a fun thing to do. I know, Josh, your laptop is
about to die. So I'll just get this put in
(01:26:15):
before that happens. And if it doesn't, we're sorry.
But thank you both for the effort that you, 2 of you have
put in to actually in making theshow happen this week.
And like I said, said earlier on, I didn't think we would
actually be able to put a show on this week simply because
there was no nobody about it from me who was going to be on
(01:26:36):
it. And but the two of you have
actually done such a sterling job and you've actually come up
with some absolutely superb answers that I didn't actually
expect. And I think that's a really
brilliant things. And I I really do feel that we
can get you guys back on again. In fact, might well be I could
(01:26:56):
have a few weeks off and I'll just get, I'll just get you to
come and just sort of you can win.
You can wind you on my behalf atthe appropriate time, you know,
Mentioned Spectrum Magic and Nemo every now and again and
nobody will notice any difference, you know.
But thank you. It's worth it's worth mentioning
anyone who has enjoyed tonight that myself and mug do a podcast
(01:27:19):
called the great risk specific opportunity.
We appear from time to time. You're making the slot of the
show. There you go, and and and.
See how? See how we.
Could make time for him to go we.
We could predict that that was going to happen, couldn't we?
So yeah, but there you go. You might come back.
You plug the laptop in, live stream, bleed you dry of
(01:27:43):
everything. And that's been obviously, it's
been such a blast. And do you know something?
Everyone in the chat, I actually, I can't thank you
guys. You know, look at this at least

that this is something that we can actually do on that on a
podcast and actually Chuck some of these questions across the
rest of the team as well. Wendy, I really, I really hope
(01:28:27):
that you actually do this because it is not as difficult
as it actually appears. It's not as difficult as people
make out to be. It's a fun day.
And actually it makes you look at the parks a little bit
differently as well. And I think that that for me was
something that you have a different way of thinking about
it. Yeah.

out of the bulk ballpark sort ofideas.

scene. Click on the bit where the
ending is because. You need to find the outro now.
(01:29:32):

the interview to Joe as well. I think we should look he's he's

without swearing. So actually.

post it notes all around at about it just keeps me on.
It keeps me on keeping me on track.
