(00:06):
Welcome friends across the world, we have a show that will
need a little of your own engagement and may possibly send
you over the edge with excitement, or indeed with rage.
As we have often shared, we lovethe music of Walt Disney World,
and tonight we're aiming to add a new overlay or possibly even
reintroduce some old standards. I'm sure this could take out a
(00:29):
new life all of its own, and as always, your ideas in live chat
always comes in helpful. So here's a question, If you
could change a ride soundtrack, what would you choose?
Welcome to the great British Mickey Waffle live.
(01:14):
It's Wednesday. We've made it, thank goodness.
I thought Monday and Tuesday will never end it.
Anyway, we have with us to go ona musical journey all of our
very own. We had Claire.
How are you? I'm OK, I'm back on the bottom
step. I like the back that's.
(01:34):
Quite impressive. I've also got the brightest
jumper in the world on today, which I call that.
It kind of helps the mood, doesn't it?
Yeah. When you just didn't, you have
one of them weeks and you're just like, I just need to wear
something sort of quite, sort of, Yeah.
That sort of sums up my inner self.
Yeah, that, that's today. And hides and hides the outer
self at times as well. That's possibly one of the best
(01:57):
ones. So good to see you.
We've also got Becca. Hiya, Becca.
Hello. How are you?
10 minutes into the show I'm already yawning, so that's going
to be a good oh there. You go sorry I've been so boring
and. I'm so tired.
Elbow. Yeah, every.
Time maybe? It's Ben.
(02:19):
It's the boring one. You've seen my hybrid in behind
my drink. I'm not bored, I'm just.
What happens when you spend spend yesterday recording a
podcast which would be out on the 15th of October?
Oh, and it was a good one as well.
It really was, and one that, well, actually even wants me to
spend even more money the next time we go to Disney World.
(02:41):
Can't they even do that? I don't know, Disney.
Disney are helping themselves with that fact at the minute.
I think as well, I think this isworth saying because actually
the show that is out on the 15thactually kind of evolved from a
lot of what we do on a Wednesday.
And it had a lot of questions that people had sent in to ask
(03:06):
us via social media, which is really different and something
that and probably imagine a few years ago before we'd started
doing this Wednesday show, we would never dreamt of being able
to be able to address questions that are getting thrown at us
and things like that. So a massive thank you for
people who take questions him. And again, thanks to everybody
(03:27):
who actually gets in touch. Even if you're watching that the
show on catch up or you're listening on catch up, get in
touch with them on the waffle his arms.
You are always welcome because actually that's what we do.
If you're watching live, you canjoin us in the live chat.
If you're not able to be live, that's still good.
We're still here anyway. You have heard him, but I
(03:48):
haven't welcomed Ben in. So welcome to Ben.
Thank you, John. Yeah.
It is. Yeah.
I nearly forgot that, you know, Yeah.
I was waiting for like 10 minutes to go past and then.
I. It was a good show last night.
I'm looking forward to tonight and once we get over the news
and things. It's just, I don't know.
We all love music and it's just the topic of we all know that
(04:14):
Rock and roller Coasters Day is numbered with Aerosmith and The
Muppets is that's why all of this.
Of this whole show and I think that's that for me is is one of
the real things about what we'regoing to get on a chat about
let's should we let's get the news out of the way right.
Let's let's do that because actually, yeah, the news.
(04:45):
There we go. Right.
So I'm going to keep this as positive as possible, right?
So announced hot off the press today.
If you go to Walt Disney World tomorrow, everything's more
expensive. There you go.
I think that's that's the only way I could only way I could
describe it, $35. Oh, we've had a discussion about
(05:08):
tonight. We've had to work out.
Do we justify booking a night onsite using DVC points to get
around the extra costs in parking that we would have paid
if we're doing a day and then then we have a little resort day
as well There's. A little bit.
There's a little bit. Of there's a bit of sort of like
I can use. Page meeting to be.
(05:28):
I've got these DVC points, shallI use them for that than
actually getting rocking up between $35 for a day and.
Then there's the sort of, well, if we're going to do that, we
might as well make sure it's on an an evening when there's extra
evening out so we can get even more time.
Yeah, so. I think one of the things Sir,
if you end end up using DVC points to actually pay for the
(05:49):
park and you're. Like, oh, here's five points 1.
Of them things, I think you feelit's really funny because you
actually look on social socials today and everyone's like, oh,
disgraceful, disgusting this other, but actually it doesn't
stop many people from going. It's the same every year, twice
(06:10):
a year in. Fact.
How long before Universe? How long before Universal?
Up there is parking because they're 30th I reckon.
Yeah, I thought they were. I thought there were 35 already.
You know, I thought there were 30, but universal. 35.
Yeah, in in Disneyland it's $40.Yeah, safe like.
(06:30):
It's pretty good. Yeah, it's something you just
regardless of when you, you planyour trip, you put it into your
budget putting your spreadsheet and go like that's going to cost
me $40 a day unless I'm certain on site or.
Might be cheaper to get an Uber.I think that was the
compensation. There's a fine line.
This summer we got Ubers into the park, mainly because it
(06:52):
meant that I got to have a few beers, right?
But if you get an Uber in and anUber out to the area was
sounding at 192, it was cheaper than parking.
Right, right. That's no greater than.
So now they put that price up unless Uber put their prices on
Uber or Lyft, I hasten to add, because we use Lyft and unless
(07:12):
they put their prices up, it's actually, it is going to be that
bit of like, well, actually, yeah, yeah, you're not getting
the money from. The I can.
Spend more money on beer, they jump.
They're going to get the cash somehow.
I don't know. I, you know, but I think we'll
around spend $35 on beer then we.
Would I would rather give them money for beer than money for
parking? Let's.
(07:33):
And also also money for a bottleof water for it's like $7.00 for
a spot water now don't do that because it was 650 in the
summer. If it's gone up tomorrow $7.00.
Don't do it, don't buy it. It's going to freeze free water.
Free water. If you want bottled water, buy
it from Walmart, Publix, or Target.
It's going to be a lot cheaper. You're going to do it that way.
Every year we have this conversation.
(07:55):
People go moan about the price hikes and then they they book
their next trip. I don't know.
I have change. No, no.
What the, what the that threshold would ever be for
people to go. I'm not going.
There will be some people unfortunately who it does price
out of the market who might haveto go.
Well, we're not going to go nextyear.
We're going to go year after. We're going to have to stay for
(08:16):
an extra 6 months or whatever. Or do people change a trip?
Do people want? Reduce their days.
Or I I remember the days that wewould always do every trip would
be a Universal and Disney trip. Actually, going forward, that's
not going to happen. I just think that Wendy's nailed
it. I think it's actually superb.
I. Was asked about it.
Yeah. So we, yeah, we love Disney, but
(08:39):
we still pay the price. And actually we just have to
whine about it a little. And actually, yeah, just so I've
seen Wendy's comment, but also abig hike to surf.
Come actually join us, John. Appreciate you being there long.
Time no see. There's a lot of positivity.
What I like is when Disney do these price rises on the same
(08:59):
day, they announced something slightly more positive.
So it's just like, OK, here's here's something positive,
here's the price in Greece. But yeah, they they have
announced the opening date for Zootopia Better Zoo Gather,
which opens to the public on the7th of November with previews on
the 5th and 6th pass holders. So that's going to be
interesting. You're going to be out there in
(09:20):
December, Claire. Will you be OK?
Yeah. Why not something new?
I always try something new. It can't be any worse than It's
tough to be a bug. Yeah, we can't be, having never
done it. We never did it, but I have to
have been listening to the soundtrack and just.
No. No, by the time we got to.
Do it. I don't have.
(09:43):
Words. Then the other thing they
announced today, which made me giggle slightly, was that all
the festival booths are now contactless.
Only there isn't. Cash you.
Can't pay the cash at any of thefestival booths from it
literally appeared over that so if.
You have got cash, you can go. Go buy a gift card, which is
(10:07):
what we talked about recently actually is buying a gift card
and using that. So yeah, yeah, don't, don't take
your notes. They won't be accepted.
See, I have to know we took $100cash for this this trip and does
not I have. To pay, how much did you use?
Well, I think we did a lot of his tips when we were with
family. Other than that, that was it.
(10:27):
I've been. Taking the same $250 backwards
and forwards for the last two years.
I haven't, I haven't, yeah. I just haven't used cash because
like when you're paying on the app, if you're mobile or
ordering or stuff that is done on the app and, you know,
otherwise it's just, you know, it's so it's painful, but you
get the bill later. But it's so easy just to Apple.
(10:48):
Pay or that, that's the bit thatgets me about paying by car all
the time. It's the you don't know what
it's happening. Yeah.
Exactly, that's why they do it. And that's why it's on the
that's why I thought the magic band was ideal, especially
you're on site each part you seeyour room and everything.
But it was interesting about Magic band.
They've changed it. Not not that now, but they have
(11:09):
now removed any discounts for booking the pre arrival magic
band for hotel guests and landedpass holders.
So now you got paid. If you want your magic band,
it's now full price. Yeah.
But you know, I think, I think having a casual system, they're
assuming that's going to be quicker.
It's less risk. It's you know, I don't think, as
I say, I haven't used cash. It is the way.
(11:29):
Other than at the. Bar.
That's the only time I use cash is for bar ticking, and even
then that's unusual because often they'll just add it onto
the thing. Yeah, let's send the chat when
you're at Disney, Dee's cash or Dee's card or contact us.
But I can't remember the last time that I was in Disney, and
especially this summer that whenyou buy merchandise, I just open
(11:52):
the app and scan the. Mobile mobile check out.
Yeah, because it's great becauseI like to be able to see it
automatically adds them a discount so I can see how much
it is spending. It just becomes, it just becomes
another line on your card bill and you've got no idea how much
you're spending. But that's the whole point.
And I think the last time I usedcash and Disney was when I gave
(12:14):
Morgan. So that would have been nearly,
you know, 18 months ago. I gave Morgan all the cash that
I had in my wallet before I leftwhen he was there on program.
I'd taken him out and I left himthere.
I was like, have you got any cash?
He's like, so I literally went through my wallet and I kept 20
bucks, but gave him everything Ihad and he used it.
Funnily enough, he was able to make use of the cash.
But yeah, I just, I think it's, it's, it was a long time coming.
(12:37):
I'm surprised it's taking this long to be honest with.
You. If it makes the queues go
quicker around the festival booths, I'm all up for that.
I think that's it's very possibly the reason why.
Anyway, I'm going to I'm going to move us on because we could
talk about this all night comely.
And I'm just going to make a little note because we missed
this last week. And actually I felt it was a
(12:58):
really it just came too late forthe show last week.
And actually, it's the death of Jane Goodall, who's a friend of
Animal Kingdom and actually someone who guided Joe Rodi with
just with her exploration of thelives of chimpanzees in
Tanzania. Absolutely amazing the reaction
not just from the Disney community, but from the wider
(13:20):
community to acknowledge her role.
And I just thought it'd be a little bit remiss of us to
actually not mention that because actually such a such a
such an absolutely incredible sort of proponent of of the
lives of animals and actually the study of chimpanzees can't
(13:42):
speak highly enough of her. That was one bit.
Spaceship Earth reopens October 25th I.
Bet you still breaks every. Single.
I can't. Wait to see.
I don't know what they were doing.
Maybe they're like taping up thebit of cloth that's torn above
the camera when you have your photo taken, replacing the.
(14:05):
Camera, hopefully. Yeah.
I don't know, I quite like half my face on the picture.
It's like that. The thing is, they could just
use AI to fill the rest of the inn nowadays, so I don't know.
I just, I just feel that we, I'mgoing to wait until the 25th and
see exactly what's changed, what's improved.
(14:25):
Painting that might be about it.Maybe some of the lights, the
LED lights on the outside have been fixed.
Maybe that's what they were doing.
Well, the three green ones and the blue one that irritate.
Maybe that. Maybe that lad he's painting the
ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. Maybe he's finished after all
these years. Maybe.
Maybe it's finally got up that last.
That last? 1982.
(14:50):
Oh dear, it's two. I'm staying at Epcot.
This, this is something that actually starts.
You can actually book it from tomorrow, right?
But it runs from the 28th of November to December the 30th.
It's $59, which is actually moreexpensive than the usual daytime
version, but they're doing a glimmering greenhouses version
(15:11):
of Behind the Seeds Now. I don't know about, I don't see
any pictures, but this looks absolutely omissible.
Oh, don't say that. It just looks amazing.
And when I first saw it, I just thought, and I probably thought.
I'm going to have to buy it. Oh no, I'm going.
To have to book it, it just looks amazing and I and behind
(15:35):
the behind the seeds is such an incredible it's.
Great. So experience any I've.
Kind of been running total of ofhow much we spent extra during
the show, how? Much is it 59?
Yeah, less on your pass discount.
That's true. Probably about a 10 I usually.
(15:57):
It just look, it just looks incredible.
And actually, if anybody's looking.
Into Epcot the first evening I'mthere.
Oh. That sounds good.
Yeah, OK. No, it's brilliant.
I will take a look tomorrow. I may book it.
I'll let. People know.
I think you're welcome. I think you will.
Let me see what else, what else been happening?
Oh, Disney Springs line garage, right.
(16:19):
Or garage, depending on how you want to pronounce it.
Every time. It's closing, right?
It's closing for structural maintenance now.
Either they're going to go and water all of that outdoor
cladding in August. Everything just kind of dies off
and things like that. But yeah, it couldn't.
Yeah, for two. Months.
I wonder if someone's hit one ofthe pillars or something.
(16:42):
Shouldn't. Yeah, he melts.
That's going to cause utter chaos.
Because you've got the other oneacross the.
Other the one that nobody goes to, Yes.
I don't want to cross over that bridge.
Thank. You.
No, I don't that. Is interesting they are
reopening it for presidents day weekend so I can't need to be
closed for that long. Yeah, that'd be fine.
(17:04):
No, because they'll have it openon Thanksgiving, I'm sure.
Yeah, Speaking of things, we'll.Drive past and see what the
construction is like when we're there in January.
Yeah, definitely. Go on, go on, sit, you're ready
and see what they're actually doing.
I that's, that's what intrigues me.
There was structural maintenance, really sort of hit
home like, you know. I reckon someone's driven into
(17:24):
one of the pillows. I think you might be right,
might do that. Speaking of maintenance, Cali
River Rapids is now closed untilDecember for its annual refurb.
I don't know about you guys. I wouldn't be writing it in
December anyway. Again, I think is that is that
possibly one one that we we can keep an eye on maybe to to show.
(17:45):
Earlier than planned because normally it's like January to
March with dinosaur closing in February, yeah.
So everyone wants to go and rideit in January.
No. Well.
It was. Better, Becca could do it as a
live part, but show us something.
For crazy. Coats.
At the. Impranimal Kingdom like high
(18:07):
West. Put that he could put that
poncho theory to the test. Couldn't.
We yeah, what I'll do is I'll have like an umbrella as well
and. Thermals.
Yeah, yeah, Stay in Animal Kingdom, Harambi Market permits,
more permits have been issued, but possibly the reason why is
(18:31):
that maybe with restaurants or hours closing, I think that what
they're doing is maybe just looking at the food options.
I'm just, I'm reading into why the permits are being issued.
I'm not, I'm not clever enough to actually read the permits and
see what exactly is planned. But I think that seems to be
they just want additional food outlets.
And actually when Harambee Market actually first opened,
(18:53):
there was a cracking selection of different foods.
And what I really noticed this this year was the fact that that
selection isn't there everywhere.
Everywhere just said that it's just basically 3.
Windows. And this all the same stuff.
It reminds me of when they changed cosmic rays and you used
to have like the three differentoptions and some of this
something, some of the other andthey it's exactly what they've
(19:16):
done there. They've just made it generic
across the board. The thing about it, and I love
Harambee marketplace and I thinkthere are some really good food
things around that area because you've got the Ku safari bakery
as well, which is great for breakfast, but it sucks at
lunchtime and I just think thereis nowhere in the shade to sit.
So if you're there in the summer, you know, they've got
some great food options, but you, you can't sit anywhere
(19:38):
because you melt. So, you know, I think it would
be good if they maybe put up some awning or something just to
give some shade. Just a little bit like what
they've done in Hollywood studios with Woody's lunch box.
They feel they've realized like,oh, people are melting in the
summer, we need to do something about it.
Took them. It took them long enough to do
that. So goodness knows how long
(19:59):
that's going to take an animal Kingdom, you know?
I think, I think the new thing. Dinosaur will be open as indie
before. That, yeah, possibly nothing to
bear in mind if you'd never beento that part of Animal Kingdom
which some people miss. Do look on the walls as you're
walking in and whilst you're inside there are some amazing
bits, a little bit of artwork here and there, a little bit
(20:20):
hidden Mickeys. There's there's some really
brilliant, just little little Disney esque things to see well
worth well worth going to last bit of news.
I think at the moment, I think we've covered everyone else, but
yeah, Stardust races have reopened at Universal.
This which is which is really good because actually, if you go
(20:41):
back and listen to the start of the podcast, I actually it's
only when the podcast came out and then the ride shot.
Oh my word. And I've just, I described it as
being the best roller coaster I've ever been on.
I'm thinking, well, that didn't age very well.
Do it like, you know, So, yeah. And I'm going to finish with one
bit of positivity. Now, I'm not sure you'd be able
(21:03):
to see this, but Brenda, the show whose daughter I am
teaching to try Simon, wrote me this from bookies.
Now, I'm not sure whether he wasbeing mischievous in actually
giving this to me in the 1st place.
I tried my best to thank him. I would also say the amount of
(21:24):
sugar in this is actually enoughto.
Oh yeah, Ben, friends of gettingclever here.
Look, look, I'm. Going to get closer to the
Beaver Nuggets. I'm not.
Yeah. Now, how you come up with a term
of a Beaver nugget? I I just don't.
What is a Beaver nugget, John? I don't know what it is.
Does it say no? What does it say calories like?
It's a little bit white. It's it's got toffee on.
(21:47):
It's toffee encrusted. If you imagine what.
Is it sticky? I've not opened them yet.
I've. Tried to crush one.
It actually looks like a MonsterMunch kind of on the inside but
covered in toffee because I was thinking it's a bit a little bit
(22:08):
like popcorn. It could be like popcorn, but
it's not. It's actually definitely sort of
a crisp type texture, but. It sounds like a Monster Munch.
It's like a Beaver Munch A. Beaver Munch?
No. Yeah, I do like a good Beaver
munch, so that'll be quite an intriguing.
I'm just giggling what they are and it's like I've just got a
(22:28):
really long ingredients list here.
It's yeah, don't look at the ingredients, but it's no, I read
them once. I actually looked at the the
nutritional facts on it. Don't.
You ever? Yeah, it's just like, let's not
even. Go.
I was going. To say I just hope you could,
it'd be worth sharing simply forthe fact that I know that a trip
(22:49):
to bookies is is top of everyone's list.
But yeah. Thank you, Wendy.
It's like puff popcorn with a coating here.
You go that that was Yeah, yeah, sugar.
Flavours can you get? You can get sea salted caramel
cinnamon sweet. I was doing so well up until
(23:12):
that point. Bad.
Can't avoid, can't avoid the cheese flavor holding the
seafood. Sherman, Wendy, anything, Thank
(23:37):
you so much for that. If you if you if that was the
intended outcome, then you hope and it was yeah, I love people.
I love people at the football weekend.
Simon that oh, I get this, but Ijust there you go that that was
that was my little bit of positivity that was going to
balance off the the rant that wemight have had about the the
prices going up, but we didn't rant about it.
(23:58):
We were actually quite, quite nice.
Anyway, I'm going to move on with the show because actually,
well, way, way, way into deeper this and this is this is
something. I'm so excited about talking
about this. Come on.
I know, I think it's a light bulb moment that came from a
previous Wednesday show, and to be honest, we try to keep our
lid on it. Even last week I think we
started talking about it. It was impromptu sort of thing.
(24:21):
So here we go. What songs that I'm going to
start. Let's start with where we
actually started this whole conversation, and that was when
Rock'n'roll the Coaster with TheMuppets as your host.
What songs should them up? It's actually be singing.
Or maybe what songs should they be playing?
It depends. Depends how they resume it.
(24:41):
They might muck. It's my DJs.
I want to hear manam. No, just.
Sit in the in the queue, yeah. That'll be OK.
Yeah, I. Think that's the difference
about what we're going to talk about, whether is it something
you do for the ride or is it something you do for the
surrounding area. Of a wind.
Because I remember a few years. Ago I might be a whole
(25:02):
different. Topic And there was a bit where
we just heard Queen music being played and it was just like, OK,
was this like something that might be coming future?
But who knows what the Muppet isgoing to do?
Well, I think The Muppets can doa bit of quite like I've done
behind me. Rhapsody to pull.
Yeah. So I would say.
(25:23):
Could you imagine though, if we did?
If we did behave, me Rhapsody clerk, can we not reenact?
7 1/2 minute ride. Thank you.
Very much. That's fine.
It might. Have to be short on the time to.
Be all four faces in the car? That'd be great.
It might. Have to be something slightly
short on like we were rocking. No, no.
(25:46):
It'd just be a snippet, wouldn'tit?
So Queen, one of my favorite Badders ever.
Obviously. I think you could do an amazing
Muppet montage of Queen. Don't stop me now.
Be incredible on rock and rollercoaster, as would, you know,
girls. Let's face it, it would be
great. I think that you could do a
(26:07):
whole load of different Queen songs in different orders, just
snippets of them. Killer Queen would be brilliant.
I just think that there's so many things that The Muppets
could do and actually I'd like it if you had The Muppets or the
Moop hits doing it, which would also be fun.
But I think then taking on something some amazing, you
(26:31):
know, characteristic band like Queen would be incredible
because it, it keeps that, that theme of, you know, rock'n'roll,
yeah. Or at least, you know, really
high quality music. It makes them keep the guitar
outside as well, yes. Yes, just need to add 1.
Oh no. How can you tell?
(26:52):
Me to play with rock music in general, but you could be.
Animal and it would just, it would absolutely.
I'm gonna do on that. I would go for Animal if you
went for any any Queen song. If you went for Bohemian
Rhapsody, could we not have a reenactation of I just like
that? That would be.
That would be so brilliant. It's kind of magic would be
(27:14):
amazing on that coast, and there's so many classic Queen
songs that would be the right pace and fun level and
excitement and I think it would be amazing.
So, Disney, if you're listening, yeah, please do that.
Please. Don't.
I actually can't think of it. You've now sold me some queen
there. I can't actually envisage any
(27:35):
other band. Actually.
I know. Yeah.
What? About a bit of Bon Jovi or
still. Love.
I also love Bon Jovi. Yeah, not quite as much as
Queen, but I do love Bon Jovi. Slippery when I have and.
See bonds be wild, be quite good.
Oh yeah, that's that's a good call.
(27:55):
And actually, that would be one that The Muppets could do as
well. Well, classic.
Rock have some eagles in there as well.
Yes. I just have the guitar solo from
Hotel California. That would be silly.
Well, there you go. Rides over them.
Yeah, I think, I think there areso many cool options and, and
(28:17):
Queen's got such a massive back catalog of, of music that would
be so easy to, to compile and you'd get a different ride every
time. Whereas I think, you know, the
Rock'n'roll coaster has been amazing.
And, you know, everyone loved itwhen you got love in an elevator
and that that section of the ride and it was like a wing
moment and it didn't happen every time.
And I just think that that wouldbe, it would, there's so many
(28:39):
great songs. You'd come off singing it.
It would be in the back of your mind for the rest of the day,
which, you know, that's the point of that poster, isn't it,
is to eject music and you'll, and you could keep the exit.
Yeah, the bit, the exit area where you come off and there's
all the lights and you're there.I love that.
But I think it's one of the bestexit set platforms for any
(29:01):
attraction. I I actually feel that it's the
type of refurb that they need todo properly.
And actually I don't think they they basically just need to do
the soundtrack and the pre and the pre show.
Most of the other stuff can juststay exactly the setting.
I'd quite like it if they fixed the attraction so it didn't
(29:21):
break every two minutes. You know, yeah, well, that's
that goes without saying. Yeah, we don't know.
It's like newly themed fried closes every six months for six
month refurb. It's not or closes every day
because actually something doesn't work properly.
Yeah, which is really frustrating.
But with the opening, well, we know it's opening in summer, so
(29:43):
it's going to be interesting to see how far along they are in
choosing. I think they must be.
I think, I think there must be, because actually I think one of
the biggest things of all is thefact that they'll have had to
pay for the rights for certain. Yeah, yeah, I'm sure Roger
Taylor will sell them something.Yeah, I can't.
I can't imagine there's the Queen now in I.
(30:06):
Don't see is such a good idea, yeah.
I think. I mean, now it's kind of magic
the. Only the only other thing is if
you go totally down the rock side a bit, you could go for
some, yeah. So a band like Rush or something
like that, that would that wouldbe really different.
I'm assuming this might be proper heavy metal.
Yeah, it's quite, no, not, not quite, no.
(30:29):
Russia now Russia, Russia. So they're not soft metal, but
they're not quite Iron Maiden esque.
But yeah, I, I think, yeah, I think when Wendy's about to just
just guide us nicely, I'm gonna,I'm gonna.
Be it's like you're part of the team.
It is very much January. January Segway because I just
(30:50):
got my glasses out because I have a list in my phone for the
next one. Why does that not surprise me?
I'll tell you what, right? If if you just pass over to
Claire, right, I'll go. This is going to have a cup of
tea. I'm gonna get some more beers up
there and then we'll, we'll go from there.
So going with Wendy's very insightful message there about
(31:14):
Guardians of the Galaxy style. And actually that would be that
would work really well on the Muppet ride as well.
But Guardians actually has in a way has kind of rewritten this
the soundtrack to a ride and, and actually it, it has become
just one of those really amazingthings that they they tease you
(31:36):
so long as you get on the ride and you're like, you're waiting
for the song to start and you just like, come on, come on.
I want to know what it is. I want to know what it is.
And then when it starts, it's like it's either that.
Conquer. Or yeah, or it's that.
Whoa. It is a brilliant thing.
I remember the day that I got all six songs and I got Blondie
(31:59):
was the one I was waiting for. I was there on my own and I was
queuing in row 10 with. There was three people who were
together 2IN row 91 in row ten. I was a single row rider in row
10 and the guy in row 10 turned to me.
He went, have you been on this before?
I said many times. I said I'm trying to get, I'm
trying to get my last song. I said I've got to get that.
He said, what are you waiting for?
(32:19):
I said I'm waiting for Blondie. And he's like, right, we're
going to manifest this. And he literally sat in the car
next to me going come on, we're manifesting Blondie, Blondie,
Blondie, Blondie. And all three of them were going
Blondie, Blondie. And then it plays and I was
like, and it was just such a, I'd never met these people, but
we were bonded from that moment onwards.
(32:42):
And I will always remember that moment of, you know, getting
your last song. So I think that's the that's the
excitement part of the excitement.
I mean, Guardians is an amazing attraction anyway, yes, so that
that jeopardy of you don't know whether you're going to get
Conga yet again or just go in orwhen you discuss.
You. Never had.
Conga. No, again, kind of all conga.
(33:03):
When we were bombed in January and Epcot, we are writing it.
To be honest, again, it comes back to the very first time I
wrote it and it would be clear and it was just the most
incredible feeling and having been on the show and actually
said when you. Literally went I am not writing
(33:26):
it unless I get. A Flock of Seagulls I ram and it
was just like it was it was one of the moments of last year,
having not been for five years where you it it actually gave
you goosebumps as the fact that you'd actually like with
yourself. Claire, you've actually you've
(33:47):
actually guessed a song and it it just comes right And and and
that is it's such a magical feeling.
It really is. So what other songs would you
like to sing introduced onto Guardians?
No, no, you go first because, because I don't think you'll
have chosen the same stuff because.
Claire's got a long list. And we've used it already, but
(34:09):
originally I wanted ever since the first time I wrote it, I
wanted Don't Stop Me now on there.
That was that was the song that I wanted originally on there.
And I think that would work quite well.
What about you there I? Don't really know, I'm going to
be honest. I'm just not thinking of other
songs from the Guardians films that just would fit.
(34:29):
That would fit, yeah. I'm just trying to think of
other because it's not. That's not my genre of music
that I know a lot of. Shouldn't I go through my list?
So yeah, you go through your. OK, social.
Well, let's say I read that next.
No, no. So the number one song, and I
say this every time anyone ever asks me, is average white band,
(34:50):
Let's go round again. Yes, would be incredible on that
attraction because. Only if they let you go round
again, that would be even better.
Well, if you get that song, you do it twice.
Yeah, that'd be amazing. That is such a brilliant track
and it's exactly the right pace and it's fun and it's upbeat,
(35:10):
but it's still 80s and I love that.
And so I've had many a conversation with nice guy Zach
Brown about the fact that that song should be on guardians.
And I don't know if it was ever in the in the the conversations.
I don't know if that was one of the things that considered or
not, but it's such a perfect attract, perfect attraction.
(35:31):
Additionally to that I have Duran Duran hungry like the
wolf. Yeah.
Because that, again, is that same sort of pace.
That's fun. It hard work, yeah.
Joint division love will tear usapart again similar in terms of
80s vibe and similar to see JohnI'm like talking your buddy yeah
(35:52):
yeah and then my wild card to replace tears of fears is
humanely risk of the news power of love because who doesn't like
Hugh Lewis in the. News I don't like Hugh Lewis in
the news, but I can but I can see how it works I.
I'm not sure I know the song. I think what I'm going to do
(36:12):
after. The show what you are.
It's one of those ones I probably know if I've heard it,
but I don't know the name of theband.
That's that's Back to the Future.
Yeah. It's from Back to the Future.
And that might be the issue, butI.
Can see. Yeah, probably.
That's probably the. Problem, but I had an idea what.
You've never heard of Hugh Lewisin the news?
It's after after the show I'm going to create a Spotify
(36:34):
playlist with all the songs we've chosen for tonight.
So if anyone has not seen. Great idea.
Joint rate, yeah, everyone can contribute to it, but those are
my 4 top 4 songs that I would like to see in Guardians.
But average right band is my #1 definitely.
I've only got, I've only chosen one because actually it just
fits perfectly. It's it's Badlands by Bruce
(36:56):
Springsteen. It's just like it just it is the
quintessential from the very first drum roll.
It was just it was just fair andand that's where some of your
selections club just fit alongside it.
What I would also say, which is a really brilliant thing for for
guardians, is the whole fact that I wasn't a great Tears For
(37:18):
Fears from and then I was especially everyone wants to
rule the world. I I just it just became my I
love it now. Now I've really got back.
It's because I'd heard it so many times in the 80s.
I just say, oh, tears for this right.
OK, but even this year we found I do take myself to listen to
(37:40):
the wet use radio stations and stuff like that.
But there's one radio station welistened to was playing a
different tears for Pierce song.I'm like, I'm not.
I would never even have put thatin in any way, shape or form.
I would never listen to it and because of guardians, I thought
I'll listen to this. I'm really enjoying it and I'm
(38:00):
like here we go. This is the whole point of
music. Is that whole thing about just
reliving in a rise memories thatyou have from when you were kid
and stuff like that. Another good one.
This this is just coming strange.
And we had be nigh on any OMD song, any any of them, because
(38:23):
actually they're all very much on that sort of Electro pop.
Yeah, I think Duran Duran is like the classic as well like
that. Yeah, you could have Rio and
that would be amazing as well. It's the same sort of beat and
and pulse. I'd love to know their original
list because I know when they were doing, I think was it
behind the attraction they showed what the amount of what
(38:45):
sort of music would be put into Tower of Terror Mission Breakout
over in California, that the amount of times that they were
riding that ride. And so they got to the limit
that was synced with the music that they used for it.
I can't imagine what they did, how many times they're going
around the Guardians to find outthose final six songs.
(39:05):
Kind of want a bit of rock set in there as well.
No. Guilty pleasure.
I couldn't do rock set and she really wasn't to use.
That would just be far too much for me.
It'd. Be great.
I. Just but it worked.
Pretty big one Navy rock set up.Oh.
My. Goodness.
(39:26):
Oh, right. We have to build this playlist
just for Becker's men. Yeah.
Yeah. I I want to don't know a lot of
Santi's music and those ones have a great song.
Big one, yeah, rain stuff, but. The other thing is, well,
though, Claire, and this is thisis actually a really highly
noticed thing in America. If you're a fan of the police,
(39:47):
they the amount of radio play that the police get in America
is way, way more. So you could actually have
synchronicity too on that playlist as well, because that's
such an amazing. So I can't wait for our Spotify
play playlist. And Jacob, thank you so much.
Absolutely. You hear a cry.
Great. That would.
(40:07):
Be so good. Oh yeah, definitely.
Right, the playlist is coming atyou.
People, I actually went to CQ and cried loads of time before
they made it big. Oh, amazing.
They were. They were.
Yeah. And I was there the night that
they split up the first time. When I did the two brothers out
there stroke with each other. I did think about things like
(40:29):
Dire Straits Money for Nothing as well, you know, all of that
stuff with that really good pulse, isn't that?
Yeah, yeah. Good classic 80s, Yeah, yeah.
Don't I get my Beaver nuts out again?
But yeah, Guardians, there's so many options.
(40:49):
What I just want them to do is not repeat the monstrosity they
did at Christmas like 3 years ago that I didn't.
Get why they did what they did for.
So you can I tell you at Christmas you could do a really
great montage of things like runaround reindeer and, you know,
all sorts of great stuff, but they didn't.
They've got their own Christmas song, Garden's House the
(41:09):
Holidays Special have a Christmas song and it.
Does. It just, it just was horrific
what they put in there. It was, it was, it was so bad
and it grew it. It didn't ruin the ride, but it
ruined the experience of not knowing what you're going to
get. And I think that that's a fun
bit. For me, that for me, that for me
is is actually, like I said before we start talking about
(41:30):
songs, that is a bit of Guardians that has rewritten the
rule book, yeah. I agree with you.
Agree. Yeah, I think Wendy, you're
right. Becker doesn't need to do some
80s music research. I'll just, I could just send her
all my record collection. That'll be it.
Oh, your final record. Final, Yeah.
Send me a list. My Spotify, I've got several
(41:51):
Spotify playlists that I use when I'm driving around and
they're all, most of them are 80s.
Millie knows all the lyrics to all these things and I'm such a
proud mum that I've done something right parenting wise.
I'll tell you what, Claire, But that's really scary because
actually there's so many songs from the 80s that I haven't
shared with the kids. Yeah, because you just say, oh,
(42:11):
that's that's not what they'll listen to.
But they come on, come on the radio.
And now, Joe, be like, oh, lovely song.
Thompson Twins. He loves the Thompson.
He loves the Thompson Twins. And I'm like, how do you know
about the Thompson Twins? And then Howard, Howard Jones
was another one. I'm like, how do you know that?
It's bizarre. It really is.
But that's how 80s music is justso good.
(42:35):
Good 80s music. I hasten to ask because there is
some that is not very good. When my when my 12 year old goes
to school singing all the correct words to Pat Benatar, I
am a girl. Yeah, it's just, it's bizarre.
It really is. It's it's like there's so much
from the 80s that stands the test of time and still stands up
(42:59):
now as being, you know, something We should have a
friend of the show, Andy Goulding on to talk to.
You. Because he he's, he's on he's on
greatest hits 80s doing the breakfast show.
And actually, he's the one reason I I actually started
listening to his breakfast just purely because.
(43:19):
The 80s can. Get yeah.
Absolutely no. Let's get Andy on.
He's been. All right, he's coming on to
talk about between all these castles.
Didn't count his music for them.I've already.
Yeah, I think we, I think we'll ask him the similar questions
that we've just asked as well. So, yeah, there you go, Andy,
you've got it incoming. Let's let's head into the park.
(43:40):
So there were the obvious 2. There's two that I think
probably we've wanted to reimagine and have another, but.
Oh, go on. No, no, not for Guardians.
I've got another attraction thatI want to go for.
What's on them? Oh, I was I was going to go
around the parks so, but go on, let me go for.
It's 9:15. Go on.
OK. We stay in Epcot, Yeah, yeah.
(44:02):
And we can go journey to imagination.
OK. Oh, controversial.
And I, I know it's been talked about in the past in terms of
reimagining. I just think that if they were
to add in Phineas and Ferb and alittle bit of Disco mini
miniature golfing please in their pants.
Oh wow. That would just improve the ride
(44:23):
significantly. I think that's.
It how to plus figment. Let's introduce Phineas and Ferb
and have the music because everyone.
Loves it in Sphinter. Right.
Yeah, it'd be great. That's imagination at the
perfect. I mean, we can have pigment in
there too. Oh, I love that.
(44:44):
That would that would work. I like that, yeah.
That was. I just wanted to throw that in
because I think I. Was going to say something along
with that. I always thought like genuine
imagination. I just thought my mind's like
Willy Wonka, the song from. Pure imagination, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, an easy, easy tune to swap over with.
(45:05):
I've just seen Jacobs. I've just seen Jacob.
Thank you. That's that.
That is definitely the 80s dancehall.
Dancehall days by Wang Chung. Oh, that is.
Yeah, that belongs. I like that.
It's. Going to be on the playlist.
Thank you, Jacob. So apart from Journey
Imagination, what about Spaceship Earth?
Does anyone have any songs that you actually think would would
(45:27):
actually make it and, and just sort of, yeah, maybe they're
doing it as, as we speak, you know, before the reopen.
I think if they were to extend it and you had an additional
scene, you can have music in that, but I wouldn't.
Think we could just have a bit of music on that bit when you're
going backwards, when there's just kind of silence while
you're doing. The trying to work out what
(45:50):
you're doing half of your face. Choose your options.
Why you're? Choosing your options future and
not being. It's about futuristically.
And. Maybe you could choose the Otter
of having a soundtrack versus narration.
What was the old What was the old Epcot music that used to
come in? Into the park?
(46:11):
Yeah, in the entrance. That was if you could have that
as the music as you're going backwards would be so cool.
Yeah, that'd be nice. Actually.
I still think with the narrationyou should get a choice.
Do you want Walter Cronkite? Jeremy Irons.
Or Dame Judy, Judy, you could have all.
You could then go and ride all three.
(46:33):
It's similar to the the Guardians whole thing.
You could just mix up. Yeah, I like that.
I. Mean they must still have
language. They must still have all those
recordings. They must do because Deepak
Radio has them. Because yeah, they they play.
So when? I'm just South Park radio when
(46:54):
I'm. Just going to the.
Park Radio. It's just a very different
version of this spaceship Earth, but it doesn't sound like Judy.
That would be great if you coulddo that, if you could just pick.
I'm not sure what song will go well with it.
There's The thing is, you've gotso many different scenes.
Yeah, I still think you should have anything over the scenes
and the direction. I think something else.
(47:17):
You have something words anyway. But you have to do something
like that. I'd be that big.
Floyd would be a really good wayof just sort of background
music, just nice, sort of, you know, comfortably numb,
something like that. That'd be good.
What about soaring? I'm I'm going to move.
I'm going to move as quickly through this because otherwise
the end of the show. Soaring soundtrack is
(47:38):
incredible. Though.
I actually feel we saw him just like we've just mentioned about
narration on spacious Earth. Maybe you could play that whole
thing that obviously it's purelybecause of the ride and things
that but one screen shows the original Sauron.
(48:01):
Yeah. The original sound, and you
don't know which one it is untilyou're riding.
That would be a way of mixing Sauron.
Up Why do you think the originalSauron is so much better than?
Over California is and I don't even like the interaction, but I
like. The over, Yeah, it's amazing.
I love the music for soaring thequeue line, not so much, but I
(48:21):
do enjoy the the soundtrack so in in so much that I just think
it's it's stunning and it's so atmospheric.
Even if you've got your eyes shut, you can still enjoy it
you. Have something from the queue
line. Living on a jet plane would
probably work. Oh hey, oh, better John Denver
(48:42):
in there as well. I asked you at GPC.
Fly me to the. Moon, fly me to the name, yeah.
Ambition space, I suppose. Really, wouldn't it?
Yeah, I've got three options of soaring around the world.
I'm going to be 500 miles fly away.
Lenny Kravitz and learning to fly Tom Petty.
(49:04):
Oh yeah, that'd be good. Yeah.
Now all of them would still workin The Muppets Rock and roller
coaster at all. That's going to be queen.
I don't know, I just minded. No further discussion.
You're going to be so sad, but it's not Queen.
(49:26):
I. Know I'm just going to take my
airports. I'm going to play Queen in my
ears instead. Do.
You like being used to the one? RIP Rocket.
You should use it, yes. Yeah, but the ride was not so
great. Yeah, it was.
I'm still, I still regret that going.
But that's that's another thing anywhere else in Abcott.
(49:49):
Should we should we actually have a completely different
musical score for Frozen? And I don't know.
He says, playing devil's advocate because he doesn't like
it. They.
Get lost in the woods in there, because that's second.
Film. I know you're updating the
(50:10):
animatronics, but maybe updates a new scene or here and there
and hasn't frozen too? And especially, what was it the
panic at the disco version? In the queue line.
Yes but and Chaji PTS offer for that was ice ice baby.
Oh. Dear mate, I don't think that
would go very well. No, no attraction.
(50:31):
They might wonder who who would actually be paid the royalty
since it's not vanilla rice. Absolutely.
Which took them years to sort out.
I'm going, I'm going to again, going to move on because the one
thing that I would love most dearly more than any other ride,
leaving apart The Muppets, leaving apart Guardians.
(50:52):
I would love to see the old songbrought back to living with the
land. I just feel that here we go,
tiny little seat. A tiny little seat that's
reaching up to meet your. This is just such a memory maker
for me. I just.
Want to listen to the land we all know it's just it's just
(51:14):
beautiful and it's and actually when you're on the ride now you.
See every time I. Get on.
It's just like I should actuallyjust get my phone out and just
press play. And just because I've
downloaded, downloaded it actually into a playlist and
it's just like, it is the most brilliant bit of music and it's
(51:37):
just like it fits. It fits the whole theme of the
ride and bring it back. It must be easy to do.
Or maybe maybe it's another one they don't want to pay royalties
to. The guy wrote the song.
That might be the issue. So it's a difficult one.
When something changed from an attraction, you've got some use
(51:58):
to it. It's committed if they change
out all of the songs and Guardians and you.
And you? Didn't get September back where
you didn't get Blondie, Yeah. That's not my favorite.
I'd be quiet. Both of them have moved on.
I think that would be. So you wouldn't have been there,
John, for that was the 21st of September when they played it
all the time. As a former teacher, the song
(52:20):
September resonates completely differently.
And I always put this in a trip report.
It's like when you whenever you get September and you just like,
oh, flipping like this is it, Here we go.
You're going back to work soon. Every time you hear that song,
it's just like, no, it's a bit like green.
Was it Green Day? You did when September ends.
Yes, maybe on September. Ends that would that would be a
(52:42):
better one. Put that in.
I quite yeah, I'd trade that forSeptember.
That would be good. Can I can I propose we go to
Magic Kingdom? That's when I was hoping we were
going to go. That's good.
Go on, Claire. Can we put a soundtrack to the
Speedway? OK, Yeah.
I'm thinking along the lines of Top Gear and More than a
(53:03):
Feeling. Oh, OK.
See, I was thinking of obviouslyprobably the one theme tune
called Fleetwood. Mark the chain.
Yeah. That's.
What Fleetwood Mark? The chain would be absolutely
perfect. All the things.
Great. Oh, Snake, here I go again.
Yeah, all of those great sort oflike been driving power balance,
(53:27):
are you going one to the other? 2 miles an hour.
Yes, that. Would be so much.
It'd be irony of that. Would be brilliant.
I just think it'd be hysterical. To maybe get something off the
James album Whiplash, I think that'd be that'd.
Be just that Betty Ram Jam. You know, let's let's get it all
(53:47):
in there. You could just do life as a
highway that would. Work perfectly all of those
great driving songs. I just think it would be the
humour would be would be perfect, but.
Maybe. Maybe they have a Christmas
overlay and they do. Was it whole driving home for
(54:08):
Christmas? Yeah.
Holiday Rd. by Lindsay Buckingham from You Could.
Tell me do that. Cool.
Wouldn't. That that 'd be so fun.
What about spaceship here? No, you don't.
Need space for that. I mean Space Mountain and.
Bit of Bowie, let's get a bit ofbit of David Bowie in there
space, space oddly. And then you get and then.
(54:31):
You just put that major Tom. Yeah, yeah.
But you could actually have thatplane just before just to do it.
This is new showing. Yeah.
How was your guys? With that that first.
Time, Wendy. You are the winner, Rocket.
Man, yeah. Brilliant.
Oh, that would that would see this is this is easier then.
(54:52):
Yeah, yeah. And then the only issue, and
I'll put this in there as well, because actually if you listen
to this and you're a lot, yeah. And you're back is age and
you're into that little bit of hip hop and you're into that
sort of, you know, hip hop, little bit garage house and
things like that. You know, if you don't, if you
don't remember the 80s. I barely remember the 90s.
(55:14):
Yeah, neither do I, but that's that's a mean thing, not no.
That's a whole lot of reasons. Maybe that's where you get a
little bit of Was it the Shame and yeah, Move Any Mountain.
I'll go for Move Any Mountain. Not the other song that the
sang, but yeah, that has a big chance for it.
(55:36):
But yeah, yeah, I'm pretty sure all the suggestions we've made
so far, someone listening to this who's much younger will
come around and say, oh, you've missed out all of this.
And we have deliberately becauseit's it's not very good.
It's not music I listen to. So that's that's basically it.
(56:01):
But yeah, Space Mountain, I think Rocket Man is absolutely
perfect. Wendy, any other ideas for Space
Mountain? I got you got a little bit more
recent. Was it Spaceman that Oh.
That would be good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Here. We go.
(56:22):
That works. Now if you only do Space
Mountain, would you do People Mover and put a soundtrack to
the People Mover? Just looks like thinking life on
miles as well. Oh, definitely a little bit of
Bowie more back that, yeah. Yeah, we've got Queen for rock
and roller coaster barring for space now.
We're doing something for the French music industry.
Under pressure somewhere in the middle of the monorail.
(56:47):
That would be cool, wouldn't it?If there should be music on the
monorail, they. Should.
Can you imagine? Everyone's under pressure and
then we just get to that bit, you know that under pressure and
everybody be just doing the samedance and everything would be
great. I think it's totally worth it,
the music. Brings the world together, yeah.
(57:09):
I'm. Going to be controversial.
I'm going to take us to Tiana's.OK, Right.
So would you. I, I would read music, put brand
new music to Tiana's. I actually feel that at the
moment it doesn't really bring that Disney magic to me.
So I would go to this really oldfilm that nobody, nobody
(57:30):
listens, nobody watches it very much anymore because nobody can
find it. Yeah, a film called It's Some to
the South or something like that.
And it had some amazing songs init.
And maybe you could maybe just rethink Tiana's a little bit and
put Zippity Doo Dah all the way through it.
Maybe just like a nice little original idea that would maybe
(57:53):
it maybe would change it for thebetter.
John, I could plus that what youdo is you move the same variety,
copy it, put it in Disneyland Paris and have The Lion King
music on. Yeah, yeah.
In the rain. In the rain.
In the reign of Design Paris. Yeah.
Now that'd be interesting. What you need to do is put tight
(58:13):
fit Lion sleeps tonight in therethough, yeah.
Oh, I hope they have. Or maybe maybe that goes in with
the Jungle Cruise. I had that on my Jungle Cruise
list. I had Welcome to the Jungle on
my Jungle Cruise list. Yeah.
Yeah. Let's see, there's so many
things you could change, yeah. Anymore anymore in Magic
(58:36):
Kingdom? Or should we go Animal Kingdom
and then we could use the same, we could reuse the same songs
again, yeah. What it's?
Like welcome. Welcome to the jungle.
Jungle. I was trying to think of what
you had put on Everest and I really struggled actually,
because it's. I think I'm there ain't no
Mountain High. Enough.
(58:57):
Oh cool. Yeah, there we go.
Shaman move any mountain upset. I was thinking about it.
I was thinking I don't ever wantmusic on Everest because it's so
atmospheric. You get that sound as you're
going to and. Tell you what they don't want on
If anyone's been up to date withwhat actually is happening in
(59:18):
the real Everest this week they had a there was a massive
snowstorm and there was like 1000 people trapped on the
mountain that they've had to walk down off the mountain and
it's just like complete so definitely don't put let it snow
let it snow. I think that would be quite
highly inappropriate. Just saying like.
(59:43):
I don't know. I think the thing about Animal
Kingdom is some of the music is really, really great.
So when you're walking the background loops and stuff are
fun. I mean, you think back to things
like the the jamming jungle parade.
Actually, I know when I walk through Animal Kingdom and I get
to particularly going through that Africa section, when you go
over the bridge into Africa and you get that background you're
(01:00:05):
going through. I have like little bit of bop
going through there anyway. And I don't know if I would want
to change that. I think the there there needs to
be something in the Safari queue.
Because currently that is deathly dull.
Yeah. And that's the one I was
thinking about earlier as to theone area where there's a real
gap in terms of sound. And I think the cue for the
(01:00:29):
Safari is is one of those areas.I'm just kind of a cycle of
life. I don't want to listen to the
line over and over and over. That's the thing, because I can
go next door for that and I watch the best.
So I think there needs to be, I don't know, it needs to be
something animal related, whether it's like something
we've got to do little or. I have a tiger.
(01:00:52):
Everyone's ever getting all around that would.
That. Would be great.
Some though, wouldn't that wouldthat would that would make the
queue go a bit quicker. You just like.
Not when you stood there 45 minutes it wouldn't.
Listen to the same song. No, Yeah.
I still have a few different ones.
(01:01:15):
That's the, that's the one area of Animal Kingdom where I feel
like there's a bit of a, a dearth of of sound, particularly
if you're in that back area, which is like looped around the
bushes. Oh yeah.
Oh. Yeah.
Thank you, Wendy. Yeah, that's that's.
Yeah, don't get everyone singing.
I'm sure there's, I'm sure there's a Katy Perry song,
(01:01:37):
didn't there? Oh.
Raw there. You go, you go and you would get
there. I'm I'm not a great fan,
obviously, since I didn't know the song, but thank you, Becca,
you go. I do listen.
I do. Listen to.
That's a current one that we wouldn't know, John.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
Yeah. Not that Katy Perry does
(01:01:58):
different things, you see. So that's it, Yeah.
Yeah, that's that was the one area that I thought probably
needs something. Yeah, the other areas.
Only river Rapids. Needs to be shut.
Next few months sailing but yeah, not sure.
Yeah, I'm not sure what would suit that I.
(01:02:19):
Actually, I actually struggle with this because actually I do
feel that, like you say, Claire,I think the animal Kingdom
itself doesn't need a different soundtrack adding to it.
And actually, we'll come to the studios in a minute because I
feel quite similar to that. But even going back to Epcon,
going back to Magic Kingdom, some of the background music
(01:02:41):
that people miss. If if you get nothing else from
this show, just have your ears open, especially as you're
walking into both parts because some of the background music
loops are just absolutely incredible.
I know Ben, you mentioned about Depart Radio and if you listen
to Depart Radio, you actually get that real feeling of being,
(01:03:04):
you know, you don't need different songs to make the
place better. However, that some of the music
they've got there already is just incredible and people miss
people missing. And that's that's a bit that
shocks me at times. It's about that, you know, you
can't have a conversation with someone.
Do you hear? How did you feel that you walked
in the park? And so, you know, it's like up
(01:03:29):
with the titles that you usuallyget when you come into town
square in Magic King. What Especially Hollywood
studios, it's as soon as you getoff a sky liner, you just hear
the big band music and. You.
I just think this is one of my favourite loops.
Christmas round, yeah, round Echo Lake.
I listen to say there is a, there is a playlist of that on
(01:03:53):
YouTube and that is my ChristmasDay while I'm cooking dinner
playlist and I listen to it back-to-back repeatedly because
it's amazing. It's not I want a hippopotamus
for Christmas on it, obviously, which is a necessity, but I just
the Echo Lake area at Christmas is incredible.
So is sunset. But I just, I think Hollywood
(01:04:13):
Studios particularly has brilliant music for the for the
holidays. It's so good, so good.
I cannot wait to be there and experience it.
I totally agree with you. I think as well.
I know that we, I know we've done rock and roller.
I think the only one within the studios actually possibly and
(01:04:35):
and for me it's completely untouchable.
So I'm not even going to go there and say that tower of
Terror needs something. However, having having seen and
heard how they've actually overlaid other previous towers
of Tower of Terrorism with a Guardians theme and a Guardians
music type thing thing, I actually don't.
(01:04:56):
I really don't feel that I I I would hate it for for it to
lose. I don't think they do it.
I can't. See, I'd be I'd be chaining
myself to the gates of the hotel.
You'd be like they were when Maelstrom shut.
You'd be there sitting. Yeah, a little bit, But actually
territory is different. Territory is the greatest ride
(01:05:18):
end up, you know, because actually it doesn't matter about
roller coasters and that it's the whole feeling and it's even
the pre show. I don't everything.
I don't get bored with the fact that you have to sit watch the
same thing again and again. It still makes me nervous every
time I watch it. It's.
Just amazing, absolutely amazing.
So it doesn't need it. But what I was going to go on to
(01:05:39):
is, is the fact that given that the studios has got so much IP
driven right and and areas, doesthat mean that it becomes kind
of untouchable musically becauseit actually to continue that
theme and to continue that immersion?
(01:05:59):
Does that whole bit bit become you have to have either music
from the films or John Williams all the way through when you're
in Star Wars or London? I actually feel that, yeah.
But I think. It could be just the John
Williams Park, to be honest, because you've got Indiana James
over the other side. Yeah, yeah.
Just so if we moved ET in, we'd be well away.
(01:06:22):
Wouldn't we just? That is a great idea for a theme
park. Any attraction that is based on
a John Williams soundtrack. Steph, how it?
Would be it would work in It would work in the UK, wouldn't
it? It's.
Like the John, the John Williams, the John Williams
(01:06:43):
Memorial. Theme park, that'd be.
Perfect. Yeah, I would just say that
would work. However, just.
Yeah, just Boo. Jurassic Archive to when all.
Of it, how could have? Its own portal within the
Universal. Epic Universe expanding.
(01:07:04):
And John Williams. But next to it, you could have
an Angelo Bad Lamenti theme parkand yeah, like sort of all the
music from all the music like Once Upon a Time in America and
the and even the even the the compete soundtrack and things.
See, we're on to something else now.
(01:07:25):
We're just this. Is a whole new.
Thought this is just yeah, this just got and.
If you just Google John Williamsmovies, the list is endless.
Oh yeah, and they're all got amazing soundtracks.
They're all incredible. Yeah, yeah.
Is there anything we've missed exactly.
I'm just aware that we've we've rattled through quite a lot and
actually I think. We've covered a lot of grass.
(01:07:45):
I think we. Have actually it's just been
completely off off the wall thinking you know, if you if you
listen to the podcast on this and you're probably now
searching for if you're in the UK, there's greatest hits 80s,
there's absolute 80s and there'sa new station called nation 80s.
Just just click on them and you'll know where we're coming
(01:08:07):
from when it comes to 80s music. You can't go far wrong.
And when you're. Back up by next week.
Yeah. And when you find something
around, yeah, you sing along to half the songs and you're like,
I didn't realise I knew that. Yeah.
If you change. Your phones only play 80s.
This thing I'll probably know half the songs.
I just want to know who the band, the name of the bands or
(01:08:27):
the names? You're probably right.
You're probably right, because actually.
Ben's going to sort out a playlist that everyone can
access. Exciting.
Yeah. And then we can put all kinds of
stuff on there as well. Any chance you can put any half
man half biscuit on there? Just just.
Just for mentioned it. Just for old time anyway, I'm
(01:08:50):
going to wrap I'm going to wrap it up because otherwise we just
we just go into plug in every 80s radio station and if you are
in Orlando and you have a DAB car radio, I will try and find
the actual radio station that itis an 80s music station.
It saw me through and actually despite.
I think it's absolute 80s is theone you're thinking you're.
(01:09:12):
I'm not sure that's what. I'm serious.
Yeah, it's not absolutely, because absolutely it's the one
in the UK, but there's it's downthe same line.
But I listened to that one. I listened to Springsteen FM,
which is very unusual. And I I think one of the one of
the one of the key moments. I even texted me mate.
(01:09:35):
And we we went from the 192 up to Universal and we had and the
breakfast show played Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure, New
Order. And then Teardrop Explodes and
you're just like, that is that is prime 80s music.
And she's just just. Can't go better than that.
(01:09:55):
That was so different from our driving Boardwalk to Universal
that day. Or you just listen to the
Phineas and Ferb music all the way.
Oh dear. Just a massive thank you to
everyone in the chat. Wendy, thank you so much.
Pete, you've. Been there.
Thank you, Wendy. Throughout and everybody else
has been in there as well. Massive thank you.
(01:10:16):
Yeah, I think it was just stirred the hornet's nest.
So it's some of the if you, if you want to add your own
thoughts. Yeah.
That'd be cool to talk about on a show in the future.
What do we want to see for Villains Land?
What music should be involved that would be?
Oh yeah, right. With us, Wendy.
I'll put it on me post it note. Wendy, That's it.
And, and actually, yeah, just beassured that none of those songs
(01:10:40):
that we've actually talked abouttonight have changed within the
parks, unlike the prices that have gone up.
These these songs haven't yet made it.
When they do, there'll be a showall of its own about that as
well. But so many amazing things.
So check out Waffle exams. We will be back next week.
(01:11:00):
And also we also had old podcast, but only at the 8th.
So it's last last week. If you missed the start of the
month podcast, do check that outbecause actually there was a
load of brilliant stuff in there, including celebrating
Halloween in August. The mid month is out next
Wednesday, so we get another Wednesday where we actually get
(01:11:21):
to celebrate the fact that we'vegot podcasts.
So you know, blatant sort of plug in for the show and things
like that. So we appreciate that
opportunity October. So thank you very much and and
yeah, until next time, we'll seeyou soon.
We'll. See you real soon.
Now my wheels in.
