About Wanda Richardson:
Chef Wanda, a native New Yorker now based in Greenwich, CT, transformed her life in her 40s by pursuing her lifelong passion for cooking. After the unexpected loss of her husband in the first year of their marriage, she embarked on a journey of healing and self-discovery. This pivotal chapter gave her the courage to step away from a successful career in real estate and finance and embrace the uncertainty of following her true calling.
In 2015, Wanda declared her dream of becoming a private chef, and in 2016, she graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education. Her path to launching JAR Cooking Co. was anything but conventional, including teaching sushi rolling, leading cooking classes at Sur La Table and private homes, and landing her first private clients through persistence and passion.
For Chef Wanda, cooking is more than a profession—it’s a creative outlet and a way to connect with others on a deeper level. Her journey is a testament to finding growth and authenticity in life’s unexpected detours, turning challenges into opportunities to do what she loves most.
