Speaker 1 (01:04):
We are today on
chapter four.
We're going to hit the reviewpoints and discuss them one by
one.
On page 60 of the power of thesubconscious mind.
The most incredible thing isthis power of the subconscious
mind exists right inside of you.
That means that you have allthe power that you possibly
(01:27):
could have to have someincredible things in your life.
If you believe that that's apossibility and that's what
we're going to talk about today.
As we go through some of thesepoints, is it possible to heal
yourself with the power of yoursubconscious mind?
Remind yourself frequently thatthe healing power is in your
(01:51):
own subconscious mind.
This healing power exists inevery single one of us, if we
believe it to be the case.
They did a study.
What they did was they had twogroups.
Every one of them needed kneesurgery.
But what they did was they hadtwo groups.
Every one of them needed kneesurgery.
They all had significant damageto their knee.
(02:12):
However, what they decided todo in this experiment was they
were going to take one group andthey were going to put them
through the actual surgicalprocedure, and they were going
to take the other knee, wherethey would normally do the
laparoscopic surgery.
However, it didn't do thesurgery, but they were going to
(02:32):
tell them they did the surgeryand they were going to tell them
that everything went well.
What do you think happened?
It's incredible A majority, large majority of those patients
that didn't have thelaparoscopic surgery but thought
they did, and thought that, based on what the doctor said,
that everything went well, guesswhat ended up happening.
(02:54):
Years later, they were walkingwithout difficulty all based on
their belief.
Do you think that's apossibility?
It was just proven that oursubconscious mind is so powerful
if we believe that it's apossibility.
And those people believed itwas a possibility because they
(03:15):
had a doctor tell them that theyhad the surgery.
They told them that it wentwell and then on their knee,
they had the little incisionmarks.
So, as far as they knew, theyhad the surgery.
However, they didn't, and bothgroups recovered the same way,
which is absolutely incredible.
(03:35):
This power exists right insideof you and right inside of me.
It's a healing power.
It's the same power that beatsyour heart consistently, that
controls all the organs in yourbody.
We talk about it every week.
That power is inside of you.
If you believe in God.
That is God right inside of you, working through you and this
(03:58):
powerful place inside of youthat has all the answers to
anything that you ever wanted toknow.
The answers do not existoutside of you.
You can go searching all youwant and you might find it.
You might find people that giveyou advice and suggestions, and
that's okay, but the truth ofthe matter is the answers that
(04:22):
you need are right inside of you.
You just need to tap into thatpower, ask the question, listen
for the answer and act, and youwill see that, magically, you
have this incredible power rightinside of you.
The problem is, most peoplebelieve they don't have the
power and therefore, if they aska question, they say this is
nonsense, this isn't going towork and it doesn't work and
(04:43):
they don't get an answer andtherefore they don't believe
they have this power.
Yet, all along, god created you, put you here on earth through
this miraculous process, throughthe joining of a sperm and an
egg and the dividing of thecells, somehow formed this most
incredible thing, which is theperson that you look at in the
(05:05):
mirror.
Person that you look at in themirror.
That power is incredible andthat power is right inside of
you.
And if all you take from todayis that I have.
This power exists right insideof me, and you just keep
repeating that to yourself.
What will happen is you willeventually start to believe it,
because that's how faith isformed.
(05:26):
Okay, let's go to point numbertwo.
Okay, let's go to point numbertwo.
Point number two says Know thatfaith is like a seed planted in
the ground.
It grows after its kind.
Plant the seed in your mind.
Important point Plant the seedin your mind, water and
fertilize it with expectancy, and it will manifest.
(05:50):
What do you think the mostimportant point in that sentence
is?
Let me read it one more timeKnow that faith is like a seed
planted in the ground.
It grows after its kind.
Plant the seed in your mind, water and fertilize it with
expectancy, and it will manifest.
(06:11):
Water and fertilize it withexpectancy.
What does that mean?
It means that when you plantthis seed in your mind, I'm
going to be healed.
I'm going to hit my goal.
I'm going to lose the weight.
I'm going to hit my goal.
I'm going to lose the weight.
I'm going to get the job.
There has to be an expectationand knowing a faith that it
(06:37):
actually will occur.
That's the problem that mostpeople face is they don't have
the expectancy.
They plant the seeds, they sayan affirmation I'm going to get
a job that's going to yield me ahundred thousand dollars a
month.
They say that and the problemis they don't expect that it's
(06:58):
actually going to happen.
They don't believe that it'sgoing to actually happen.
And if you don't believe andyou don't expect it, imagine
going to the garden.
You take a seed, you plant itin there, you water it and then
you have this negative idea likethis isn't going to work.
It's again like pulling theseed back out and then you'll
(07:18):
say the affirmation again andthen you plant it back into the
garden and then you have thenegative thought and then you
pull the seed out and then youput it back in.
How soon will that seed grow?
It's not going to grow becauseyou keep pulling it out.
It doesn't have its opportunityto actually grow.
And so when you plant the seed, what's going to cause it to grow
(07:43):
the water that you're puttingon it is the faith and the
expectancy.
So a lot of people say okay, mike, that's great, but how in
the world do you get faith andhow do you have expectancy when
you've never had a result likethat in your life before.
There's a couple of things.
One you have to repeat it overand over.
(08:03):
You have to repeat that newbelief I am.
I have released 15 pounds andI'm now at my ideal weight, and
you have to say that over andover again.
I am now in the most loving andcaring relationship, and you
have to say that over and overagain.
If you don't do that, it's likepulling the seed out of the
(08:24):
garden and then planting it backin and then pulling it out and
(09:07):
planting it back in.
It's through the repetition ofsaying it over and over.
If you say it over and overevery time that negative thought
comes up and you then say thatstatement again, you're keeping
the seed underground.
But if you don't repeat itafter the negative thought, it's
like pulling the seed out andyou got to wonder why isn't it
(09:30):
growing?
It's because you're notwatering it with faith.
You're not watering it with therepetition of the affirmation
that this is happening inpresent tense.
It's unfolding, it's happening.
Period, the end.
All right, let's go on to thenext point.
Point number three the idea youhave for a book, a new
(09:53):
invention or play is real inyour mind.
This is why you can believe.
You have it now.
Believe in the reality of youridea, plan or invention and as
you do, it will become manifest.
Let's talk about some studiesthat prove this case, that if we
(10:17):
can see it in our mind and weuse visualization, that it
actually works.
Rather than me telling you, let's use real studies from real
people that actually worked.
Okay, so they did a study onvisualization at the Harvard
Medical School.
What they did was they gotparticipants and they had them
(10:40):
imagining practicing the piano.
Again, these were people thatplayed the piano somewhat, knew
how to play.
The same part of their brainlit up on brain scans as in
those physically practicing.
So they had them set up tobrain monitors.
They had one playing the actualpiano and they watched their
(11:01):
brain.
And then they had another groupof people that all they did in
their mind was close their eyesand play the piano in their mind
, and yet both areas of thebrain in both patients lit up
the same way.
What does that tell us?
It says that if we haveimagined experiences, they work
(11:24):
the same as the real in lightingup and making neuro
associations and connectionswithin your brain.
Those connections get strongerby playing it in your mind.
So do you think that if youenvision yourself getting that
goal that you want and you seeit literally, picture it and
(11:46):
take yourself through thatprocess, do you think that might
work?
Here's proof that it does.
Let's talk about another studythat was done.
There was another study done atthe University of Chicago.
They took basketball playersand they split them up into
three groups.
Group one practiced free throwsdaily.
(12:07):
Okay, so they actually sat atthe line and took shots and they
did that every single day.
The second group all they didwas visualize making free throws
, so they didn't actually take ashot, except for in their mind.
They were lining up and takingthe shot in their mind.
And group three did nothing.
Listen to this statistic.
(12:29):
This is incredible.
After 30 days group one that'sthe group that actually took the
shots they improved by 24%.
Okay.
Group two they only didvisualization.
They improved by 23%.
What that means is there wasonly a 1% increase from the
(12:53):
group that actually took theshots versus the group that
didn't take the shot.
Now, if that's the case and theywere able to improve by 23%
only by envisioning it, would itmake sense for you to
potentially take some time outof your day to envision what it
is that you want.
Now, one of the things that Ioften hear people say is Mike, I
(13:17):
am not good at visualizing.
And then I say to them thinkabout the last negative fight or
argument you got into with afriend, and it takes them maybe
a few minutes and then they comeup with and I said now, how
many times did you replay thatconversation in your head after
it happened?
(13:38):
And they start to laugh andthey say oh, I did that five, 10
, 20 times.
So I said that's interesting.
So actually what you're tellingme is you're really good at
visualizing.
We're good at visualizing inthe negative.
We're used to doing that.
We're used to playing thesenegative scenes in our head over
and over.
All we're going to do now iswe're going to start to use this
(14:01):
tool that we have, this powerthat we have of visualization,
which again, has been proven intwo cases so far, and I'm going
to give you another case.
We're going to use that to ouradvantage or we're going to use
it to help ourself improve, tohelp ourself get what we want.
(14:24):
Number three Olympic athletesconsistently use visualization
so powerfully that when theyhook them up to these
biofeedback machines, the musclepatterns activated identically.
Machines the muscle patternsactivated identically, whether
they were skiing or justimagining skiing.
So think about that.
You have one group of skiersthat are actually skiing and
they have.
They're monitoring theirbrainwaves and their patterns
(14:46):
and their muscle patterns.
And then they have a secondgroup.
They're just sitting thereimagining that they're skiing
and the muscle patternsactivated identically.
So there's real power in thisvisualization.
And again, how much time do weactually spend doing it?
If they're going to keepOlympic athletes spending time
(15:06):
visualizing, if they're going tokeep basketball players Phil
Jackson, who won so manychampionships he used to have
his team consistently visualizeand meditate there's a reason
that people are doing it.
There's a reason that theirathletes, who are getting paid
(15:26):
$20 million, are taking time tomeditate and visualize it's
because it works.
These are just three ofhundreds of studies that they've
done proving the fact that thisworks.
Let's use an example.
Let's say you want to loseweight.
The visualization is you seeyourself stepping onto a scale.
(15:51):
You see yourself moving thescale, moving the weights over
so you can see how much youweigh and you're at the weight
that you want to be.
You see yourself preparingmeals and preparing healthy
meals for yourself and you justkeep envisioning that.
And what you're doing is you'recreating these neuro
associations in your brain, these connections in your brain,
(16:14):
and, even though you haven'tactually done it yet, your brain
doesn't know the difference.
It's forming these connections,so you're tricking your brain
into believing, and that's whatwe want to do.
Visualization is so importantfor you to get what you want.
It's so important for thisfaith.
We're building the faith inthese things happening by by
(16:38):
again picturing it as if it'salready occurred.
Visualize it, see it be theskier who's skiing down the
mountain in their mind and they, they see a big mogul coming up
and they're easily pivot andthey jump it perfectly and they
see themselves landing and theycan feel it in their muscles.
This is what we can do to helpus get what we want.
(17:01):
Does that make sense?
Let's go on to point four, whichI find to be fascinating.
Do you think that if you prayfor another person that's having
some kind of struggle, whetherit's a physical struggle, a
mental struggle if you say aprayer, do you think that can
(17:25):
affect the other person'ssubconscious mind and bring
about positive results?
What do you think?
Do you think that's apossibility?
Let's see if the power ofprayer work by reviewing a few
of the studies that are outthere.
So they did a study in 1988.
It was at San Francisco generalhospital.
There were 393 patients in thecoronary care unit, the heart
(17:50):
unit, and they assigned patientsrandomly the people in that
unit, 393 patients in two groups.
One group, which was group A,they received prayer from
strangers, so the strangers knewthat they were praying for
people in this unit.
The other group received noprayer.
Do you think that the peoplethat got the prayer from
(18:13):
strangers, do you think it wouldmake a difference?
Prayer from strangers, youthink it would make a difference
?
Result says the prayer grouphad significantly fewer
complications, needed lessmedication and had better
recovery outcomes.
Now, remember these people thatwere put into these groups.
It was random, they justrandomly placed them there and
(18:34):
there were a majority of thepeople in the group that got the
prayers that had fewercomplications, less medication
and better recovery outcomes.
So it's clear in that study thatif we have prayer and what is
prayer anyway?
Right, it's a thought thatwe're passing in our mind, it's
(18:54):
energy that we're passing.
Can energy be felt?
Of course it can.
Again, you go over to someone'shouse and they're arguing.
You don't know that they'rearguing, but when you get to
their house you can feel thisnegative energy.
You feel the energy.
You can feel it.
Everything is energy.
Our cells are vibrating.
(19:14):
It's energy.
Every component of our body isenergy.
So prayer has a lot of power.
Our words have a lot of power.
If these prayers that strangerssent out to the people in the
hospital actually seem to havepower, imagine what we can do
(19:35):
with our words.
Our words create.
Our words are energy.
Our words create.
Our words are energy.
Our words have power.
So it's important to really payattention to these words that
are coming out of our mouth, because they have significant
power.
They've done this study I'msure you've seen videos
potentially on it where they hada large group of people
thinking positive thoughts aboutthis body of water and then
(20:00):
they would look at the watermolecules under a microscope and
they would see these incrediblybeautiful patterns and then
they would have them now thinkthese negative thoughts and then
suddenly the pattern of thewater when it's seen under the
microscope completely changed.
It's hard to really believethat this can work but again,
(20:24):
there's been study after studyon it and it's showing that our
words have a lot of power.
Let's talk about a study thatcould potentially be near and
dear to your heart, which is, ifI say love prayers and marital
well-being prayers, will theyhave an impact?
They did a study at FloridaState University and they took
participants and they prayed forthe well-being of their partner
(20:48):
for four weeks.
They did this.
The result was that the couplesreported higher levels of
relationship satisfaction,greater forgiveness and
increased selfless concern.
The partner being prayed foralso reported improved feelings,
even if they didn't know theprayer was happening, they just
(21:09):
started to feel it, and so theconclusion was that there is an
energetic or subconsciouspattern that can be affected by
prayer.
Again, these are real studies, real people, real effect.
It works.
Here's one more that's reallypowerful.
They wanted to see if you hadprayer and you focused on love
(21:32):
and prayer, would that have animpact on vials of DNA, prayer,
would that have an impact onvials of DNA?
And what they found was thislove and this prayer.
Focused love, focused attention, focused prayer, focused
meditation actually changed theDNA winding and unwinding, which
(21:53):
was observed without anyphysical contact.
It was just based on thethought, and the conclusion of
the study was that consciousnessand intention, us focusing on
prayer and love actually mayinfluence matter, including DNA
remotely, again, withouttouching it, and from a distance
, it actually worked.
(22:15):
So, again, all this to say thatthis power that we're talking
about, it exists right insideall of us and we can pray, not
only for other people, but wecan say prayers for ourself.
And, based on those studiesthat you just heard, it's proof
that this works.
(22:35):
So why not take what works anduse it to help ourselves and to
help others?
Prayer works.
Have you ever come acrosssomeone and they say something
and it rubs you the wrong wayand you start to judge them in
your mind?
We were just talking about howthe power of our words, the
(22:57):
power of prayer, has an impactin.
It could be negative orpositive, depending on what
we're focusing on.
If we're judging other people,do you think that's having a
positive impact or a negativeimpact on both them and us?
Based on the studies, it wouldmost likely say that it's
certainly not going to help us.
So, interestingly enough, ifwe're putting out that negative
(23:17):
energy's certainly not going tohelp us, so, interestingly
enough, if we're putting outthat negative energy, we're
going to get that negativeenergy come back to us, because
that's the negative energy we'reputting throughout our whole
body is focusing on judgment.
What if, instead, we were tosay instead of judging this
person, I'm going to say aprayer for them.
I'm going to say a prayer forlove and kindness.
(23:38):
I pray that they have morekindness and love in their heart
and that God blesses them.
If we say that, instead ofdoing a judgment, what do you
think it's doing for that person?
Based on the studies, it'scertainly going to help them.
And then what do you think it'sdoing for us when we're
blessing other people?
That energy is flowing throughus and through all of the cells
(24:01):
in our body.
If we have this positiveblessing that we're putting out
there, do you think it might behaving a positive impact on us
as well?
And it is having a positiveimpact.
So let's use our words, let'suse our prayers to help people
rather than judge people.
So the next time you feel thatjudgment come up, pause, take a
(24:23):
second and ask yourself if I putthis judgment out, is it going
to help this person, is it goingto help me?
And the answer to both of thoseis no.
So the way that you can helpthem and the way that you can
help yourself is to put ablessing out there.
Put a blessing of love, support, kindness, ask God to help heal
them and give them love andkindness, and you're doing the
same for yourself, and that willhave a magical impact on you.
(24:49):
Let's go to point six.
All disease originates in themind.
Nothing appears on the bodyunless there is a mental pattern
corresponding to it.
Do you think this is apossibility?
Let's use a really smallexample.
Imagine you go to a party andyou're around a lot of people
(25:12):
and it turns out you get a phonecall the next day and 15 of the
20 people that were at theparty now all have the stomach
virus.
What does your mind start to doat that moment?
Is it thinking positively or isit thinking negatively?
Your mind goes into oh my God,what if I get sick?
(25:36):
I ate a lot of the food thatthose other people ate.
I'm starting to feel a littleunder the weather.
I'm not feeling perfect.
What if I'm coming down?
And that negative thoughtperpetuates and then the next
thing you know you're sick.
How many times have youexperienced that?
Let's go to a couple studies tosee what actually happened.
(26:02):
The Center of Disease Controldid a study and they took people
.
They had these emotionalpatterns of negativity because
of all this abuse, neglect andtrauma.
They found that there was amuch higher risk of people
getting heart disease,autoimmune disorders, cancer,
depression and addiction.
The conclusion was theemotional stress and trauma
(26:25):
creates patterns in the nervoussystem that can later manifest
as disease.
Let's create a picture for asecond.
I want you to imagine all thecells in your body.
There's trillions of cells andthey're all operating on a
specific frequency.
So a frequency is the level ofvibration.
(26:46):
For example, when we're feelinggood, our cells are operating
and vibrating in a specificpattern.
When we're not feeling good, our cells are operating at a
different pattern.
When we're not feeling good, our cells are operating at a
different pattern.
If we're having negativethoughts, what do you think it's
doing potentially to our cellsand our body?
Are they operating at apositive frequency or a negative
(27:07):
frequency?
Clearly, it would most likelybe a negative frequency.
If those cells are operating ina negative frequency long
enough, that's the breedingground for sickness, because
when you're sick, the cells inyour body are operating on a
different frequency than theyare when you're healthy.
So if we can keep our cellsoperating on a level of
(27:31):
frequency which is surrounded bylove, happiness, peace,
authenticity, all positiveemotions.
What do you think potentiallyhappens to an illness that
you're around?
Do you think you're moresusceptible or less susceptible
to catch that if you'reoperating in this positive
(27:52):
frequency, it would be less, because your cells are operating
on a different frequency.
There's less inflammation inyour body, there's less negative
things going on.
The breeding ground forsickness doesn't exist because
your cells are operating on avery positive frequency.
Today because I'm going to cutit here is our subconscious mind
(28:20):
is extremely powerful.
Our subconscious mind can becompletely influenced and create
a breeding ground for eitherpositivity or negativity and,
depending on what frequency, howwe're feeling, what type of
thoughts we're going to allowinto our mind.
Are we going to allow positiveor negative If we're feeling,
what type of thoughts we'regoing to allow into our mind.
Are we going to allow positiveor negative?
If we have negative, that'sgoing to create this negative
(28:43):
environment and we're going tobe potentially susceptible to
more illness, more negativity, not good things.
And if we can just flip thatswitch listen to positive music,
go for a walk, do deepbreathing, which gets us in a
state of mind where we'refeeling positive.
That's creating a breedingground for more good, and we saw
today also that we have thisincredible power in our words
(29:07):
and in our visualization.
If we allow our mind tovisualize the things that we
want and we do it as if we'rereally doing it and with the
intensity of really doing thatthing, what we're going to find
is we're going to get more ofthe same, which is good, and if
we use our words to judge others, we're going to get more of the
(29:28):
same which is negative, andthat's creating that negative
frequency and that negativebreeding ground.
However, if we use the positivewords and positive prayers for
others, it's going to help themwith the frequency that their
cells are operating with andit's going to help us with our
cells operating at a specificfrequency.
(29:50):
Now, the reason today I used alot of studies is because if I
just say this without thestudies, there's a lot of people
out there that say, mike, thisis a bunch of nonsense.
But we have universities likeHarvard and Princeton and the
Center for Disease Control allbacking a lot of the things that
we're saying with scientificresearch showing that it works.
(30:13):
So take something that welearned today.
Maybe it's just the power ofprayer, the power of using
prayer versus judgment.
And the next time you hearsomething negative from someone
and you have this judgment thatcomes up.
Or you see someone and they'rewearing something you don't like
(30:36):
and you have this judgment comeup.
See someone and they're wearingsomething you don't like and
you have this judgment come up.
Instead of judging, give apositive prayer in your mind.
You don't have to say it outloud, you just say it in your
mind and by doing that, they'regoing to pick up that energy.
You're going to pick up thatenergy and it's a win-win.
Everyone wins.
That's it for this week.
(30:56):
Have an incredible week and Iwill see you next week.
