Speaker 1 (01:04):
Welcome back.
We are on episode 12.
If you listened to all theepisodes up until this point,
really be proud of yourself.
There's a commitment to doingthis kind of work and when we do
the commitment and we persistand we're disciplined, it yields

(01:26):
results.
It yields results and so ifyou've made it through all 11
and you're now you're on episode12, it again says so much about
you, and just take a moment foryourself and give yourself some
credit for doing that and, moreimportantly, also think about
the things that you've learnedalong the way and what

(01:46):
specifically are you doing toapply this information Now?
I have to assume, since thereare so many examples that are
given, that you're listening tothe examples and you're finding
examples that resonate with youand you're putting those into
action.
So just want to give a littleshout out to you, the listener,

(02:08):
for making it this far and forcontinuing to be disciplined and
focused and willing to do whatyou need to do to take care of
yourself, to get stronger, toget better, to be a better
person, to be a better husbandor wife, to be a better brother
or sister.
Doing this work does all ofthat, so congrats.

(02:31):
And now let's jump back in.
Last time we went through thesummary of chapter two and now
we're back and we're startingwith chapter three, and chapter
three is called the miracleworking power of your
subconscious mind.
So let's jump in to the book.
Here we go.
The power of your subconsciousis enormous.

(02:53):
It inspires you, it guides youand it reveals to you names,
facts and scenes from thestorehouse of your memory.
Let's pause Our subconsciousmind.
Think about it like this it'sthe largest hard drive and on
that hard drive is stored everysingle thing that has happened

(03:17):
in your entire life.
So every memory that you recallmaybe a kid on the baseball
field and you made a hit and youwere all excited and you ran
the bases with the big smile onyour face.
That's a memory that you pull.
You're pulling that from afolder in your subconscious mind
.
Your subconscious mindliterally has stored in it every

(03:41):
single event that has everoccurred.
Now, some things we forget.
And let me ask you have youever had this experience?
You'll see something in a movieor someone will say something
to you and it triggers a memoryfrom when you're younger.
Suddenly, something gets tappedin your subconscious mind and

(04:02):
then suddenly, there it is, thismemory that you haven't thought
about in years pops to thesurface.
That's because that thing thatwas said triggered your
subconscious mind and memory.
So the subconscious mind storeseverything.
It's good for all the positivememories that we have, all the

(04:25):
great things that have occurredin our lifetime.
We have all the great thingsthat have occurred in our
lifetime but at the same time, all those other things, those
negative moments that may haveoccurred a car accident you've
been in, someone rejecting youon the first time you asked
someone out on a date, a divorcethat you've been through,
anything in life that hasoccurred that hasn't been so

(04:48):
good is stored in there.
Anything in life that hasoccurred that hasn't been so
good is stored in there.
And all the things that you'velistened to from other people
people saying you're not goodenough or you stink at this, or
you're stupid or you're an idiotthose were all recorded and
filed in your subconscious mind.
So what we want to do is wewant to be aware of this.

(05:11):
We want to be aware of we haveall these memories.
They're all stored inside of us.
If we're put into the rightenvironment, that can trigger
one of these memories that wehave in the subconscious and we
will experience the emotions, the thoughts around it, similar
to when it actually occurred.
Awareness is key, and knowingthat everything is stored there

(05:33):
is the point that they're tryingto make here.
It's the storehouse of allmemories.
Back to the book.
Your subconscious started yourheartbeat, controls the
circulation of your blood, regulates your digestions,
assimilation and elimination ofyour blood.
Regulates your digestions,assimilation and elimination.
If we continue on, when you eata piece of bread, your

(06:00):
subconscious mind transmutes itinto tissue, muscle, bone and
blood.
This process is beyond Ken ofthe wisest men who walks the
earth.
The point that's trying to bemade here is this we have this
incredible power.
It's been alluded to many timesalready.
That's right inside of us.
It takes care of our bloodcirculation, it takes care of
our heartbeat, it takes care ofour blinking, it takes care of

(06:23):
all the organs in our body, andwe can't explain how that's done
other than saying there is somepower out there that's
controlling all of thisMagically.
All this stuff works, and iteven says it right here in the
book.
This process is beyond thewisest man who walks the earth,
because it really truly can't beunderstood.

(06:46):
But here's the thing that we cantake away from it.
You, the listener, have thisamazing power that's right
inside of you.
So anytime you feel like you'renot good enough, or you're an
imposter, or you're stupid, oryou're an idiot or any of the
other negatives that come up,all I want you to do is this

(07:08):
Just remind yourself that thereis a power inside of you, which
is part of you, which handlesall this incredibleness that
occurs inside of your body, thatmakes you pretty incredible.
So you can't have thisamazingness inside of you and
call yourself stupid, and callyourself an idiot and all these

(07:29):
other negatives, because youhave this incredible power, and
I just want you to remindyourself of that Anytime you
start going to the negative, remind yourself I have a part of
God, this divine, thisuniversal intelligence that's
right inside of me.
Therefore, I must be prettyintelligent, because there's
some major intelligence insideof me that, therefore, I must be
pretty intelligent, becausethere's some major intelligence

(07:51):
inside of me that's operatingall these major organs in my
body and, magically, they're allworking.
So I must be powerful andthat's what I want to let you
know Again.
You are unbelievably powerful.
The only reason you don'tbelieve you're not powerful is
because someone may have saidsomething to you and you picked

(08:53):
up this limiting belief.
For example, the teacher saysto you you're such a failure,
you failed another test.
What's wrong with you?
Maybe they don't say anything?
Maybe they give you a paperbackand on the paper it says F and
in your mind you automaticallyassociate the fact I got an F,
my friend got an A, they'resmart, I'm stupid.

(09:16):
Now.
We were a kid, we didn'tquestion that belief, we assumed
it to be true and unfortunately, because we never questioned it
, it rules our internal system.
So there's a belief in therethat says you're stupid.
Yet if we would just pull thatbelief out and say to ourselves

(09:39):
when I was a kid, I got a badgrade on a test and I made an
assumption that I was stupid Now, and I made an assumption that
I was stupid Now.
I'm asking you, the listener, what's another meaning that you
could associate to the fact thatyou got a bad grade on that
test?
Well, one could be maybe Ididn't study, maybe I wasn't

(10:02):
interested in the subject, maybeI had something happen a couple
days before and my did well onthat course.
It doesn't make you smart thatyou did well in that class, but

(10:26):
you were interested in it.
So the fact that you wereinterested in it made you excel
and made you do better.
Because, let's look at it thisway, if in school the only thing
they taught was things that youwere really interested in and
things that you really loved, would you get straight A's on

(10:46):
all the tests?
The only difference between youdoing really well and not doing
well again, it has nothing todo with if you're smart or
stupid.
It has only to do with am Iinterested?
So, if you ask the question, was I interested in this subject
, for example, math?
I didn't really love math and Ididn't do well in math because

(11:08):
I had no interest in it.
But there were other classesthat I took that I really
enjoyed Philosophy Surprise,surprise.
This is kind of what I do now.
I was extremely interested init and I excelled and I always
did well in it, and I alwayslook forward to the next class,
so I did great in the class.
So again, the point to all ofthis is we have all these stored

(11:32):
memories and these storedbeliefs and these stored events
and we never really pulled themout and questioned them.
So they can control ourbehavior, they can control our
emotions, they can control ouroutcomes, until we pull them out
and until we question them.
So that's what I would suggestto you.
The next time you feel alimiting belief coming up about

(11:55):
something, just ask yourquestion why is this not true?
And you'll start gettinganswers and you'll start
realizing that this belief.
Just ask your question why isthis not true?
And you'll start gettinganswers and you'll start
realizing that this belief thatyou've been holding on to for
all this time is really not true.
However, it's been controllingyour outcome for the longest
time.
All right, let's go back to thebook.
Your subconscious mind controlsall the vital processes and

(12:19):
functions of your body and knowsthe answers to all problems.
Pause for a second.
Your subconscious mind controlsall the vital processes we
talked about that and functionsof your body here's the piece I
want to focus on and it knowsthe answers to all problems.
When you have a struggle or youhave a problem, how many times

(12:43):
do you go outside and look forthe answer outside and ask
people that you may be friendswith or that you may know?
What do you think that I shoulddo in this situation?
Here's my problem.
What's your advice?
What's your advice, what's yourthoughts help?
Well, that's one way of goingabout it.

(13:04):
However, what it's saying hereis the answer to all your
problems are right inside of you, which is the power of this
subconscious mind.
The thing is, do you ever takethe time to quiet your mind?
Maybe you take a few deepbreaths, maybe you listen to a

(13:25):
song that'll relax you a littlebit, maybe you go for a walk
first, you get your mind niceand quiet, and then you take
that problem that you're havingand you ask a question.
And you might ask a questionlike this what's one thing that
I can do right now that willhelp me solve this issue that
I'm facing?
And you get real quiet and youjust listen to the subconscious

(13:50):
and you get a feeling and youmaybe get an immediate thought
that pops in Do this, call thatperson, take this action.
And that's what you need to dois just take that action, call
that person, do that thing.
That's your subconscious.
Your subconscious is a part ofGod.
Your subconscious is handlingall these incredible systems, as

(14:13):
we just spoke about.
So don't you think it's possiblethat if we ask a question to
this incredible power that's inus, that potentially we might
get an answer?
Here is an issue.
Tell me if this makes sense toyou.
When our mind isn't quiet andwe ask a question, our mind will

(14:34):
start spitting out all of thisstuff, it'll start thinking
these thoughts and it getsreally loud in there and it
doesn't allow us to tune intothat part of us, that
subconscious part, where it'sjust immediate answer comes to
us, our mind, and then go tothis place.

(15:04):
Because you have it.
You have this power inside ofyou and that power has the
answer to all of these questions.
And you have the answer insideof you to all of these questions
.
You just have to be willing toask.
If you ask a question and youdon't get an answer, the
subconscious has a reallyamazing thing that it'll do,
it'll search out there and it'llwork its magic in the universe.

(15:26):
Perhaps it brings someone thatknows a lot about the topic that
you're trying to figure out ananswer to, and suddenly you bump
into them and, out of the blue, they say something to you and
it's about the topic that youhave this question on.
And you say to them I can'tbelieve that you're saying this

(15:48):
to me.
Have you ever had thatexperience?
Well, you can believe it,because this power, that's a
part of God, that's part ofdivine that's universal
intelligence.
It does amazing, miraculousthings.
It's just that when our mind isreally loud, filled with lots
of thoughts, we get distractedand we miss out on some of these

(16:13):
things that come to us from theoutside world.
We might miss out on.
Someone comes and sayssomething to us.
That person may say somewhat ofan answer to your issue, but
your mind is going through oh myGod, I can't believe I'm
wearing this, or why are theywearing that?
Or the last time I was withthis person, they said that to

(16:34):
me, and so your mind is going alittle bit crazy.
Meanwhile, you just missed themessage that he gave to you, and
now universal intelligencehanded to you the answer.
However, you missed it becauseyour mind was so loud with
thoughts to do its thing and towork its magic and allow my ego
and my thoughts that I'm havingto just quiet down.

(17:07):
The subconscious mind isresponsible for 95% of our
results.
Ask yourself this question howmuch time do you spend outside
of your subconscious mind, inyour conscious mind, of all the
solutions that you can come upwith to a problem?
Again, 5% of the problems aresolved in your conscious mind,

(17:30):
except we end up spending 95% ofour time there and we only
maybe spend 5% of our timetapping into the subconscious
mind.
What we want to do is quietthat conscious mind.
Keep it super quiet.
Ask the question, listen for ananswer.
If it doesn't come right away, don't worry about it.

(17:51):
Just pay attention.
Keep your mind quiet and overthe next number of days, hours,
maybe a week, something will popin.
You'll see something ontelevision, you'll see a movie A
friend will call.
You'll just magically hearsomething that's related to what
it is that you want an answerto and you'll say, oh my gosh, I
can't believe this is happening.

(18:12):
This is a miracle.
It's not a miracle.
It is the God piece within you.
It's that divine, universalintelligence within you.
And if you just take away thefact that you have this power
inside of you and you giveyourself credit for that power
meaning the ability to tap intothis power that you are you can

(18:35):
never have a lack of confidence.
Confidence can be gained byliterally just saying to
yourself I'm reminding myselfthat I have this incredible
power within me and it has allthese answers and I'm going to
just do my best to quiet my mindand show up from that place,
and you'll have a confidencethat you've never had before.

(18:58):
It's interesting becauseconfidence will get beaten up by
all these thoughts that we'rewhen we're trying to figure
things out on our own and haveour ego involved.
That's when our confidencestarts to go low.
It says I can't do this.
What's wrong with me?
No, you can do it.
You're using the wrong part ofyour mind to do it.

(19:21):
You're using the 5% of yourmind, which is again the
conscious mind, which is onlyresponsible for 5% of your
results.
We have to reverse it and tapinto the 95%.
And remember no one ever taughtus this information.
So it's not your fault.
You're a creature of habit.

(19:43):
We have lots of habits.
The habits were formed bywatching other people do things
and listening to other people'swords, and that created our
habits.
And unfortunately, the habitsthat we picked up aren't good
habits.
So we have to relearn those, and that's part of what we're
doing here, which is tapping into this immense power that is

(20:05):
right inside of you Got it.
Let's go back to the book.
Your subconscious mind neversleeps, it never rests, it's
always on the job.
How do we know that?
Pausing for a second?
We know that because ourheart's always beating and all
those things that we talkedabout earlier are happening

(20:26):
automatically.
We're breathing.
Do you ever stop breathing?
You just keep breathing.
How are you doing it?
Ask yourself the question howare you breathing?
Right now, you can't figure outthe answer because you don't
know how you're doing it.
It's happening automatically.
The power inside of you iscausing you to breathe, and

(20:46):
that's a miracle, because you goto sleep at night, you're not
thinking about how you're goingto breathe, yet you breathe
throughout the whole night, which is again a miracle.
It's a true.
It's that power working itsmagic within you.
All right, let's go back to thebook.
You can discover the miracleworking power of your

(21:08):
subconscious by plainly statingto your subconscious prior to
sleep that you wish a certainspecific thing accomplished.
Okay, let's pause for a second.
This is huge.
It's telling us that rightbefore we go to sleep, when our
subconscious mind starts to openup.

(21:29):
That's what happens when we goto sleep at night.
As we're getting into thatphase where we're really getting
ready to fall asleep, subconscious opens wide up, so
any message it hears goesdirectly into the subconscious
mind.
So, as you're going into thatstate of you feel really tired
and you're really ready to go tosleep.
Here's what you do.
We use the miracle workingpower of your subconscious mind

(21:52):
by asking it for something rightbefore we go to sleep.
For example, you're looking forguidance on getting a new job.
You could say to yoursubconscious mind God, divine
subconscious, whatever you wantto call it I'm really looking
for some guidance and feedbackon the way that I should move

(22:15):
forward in a job.
Would I be better off doing myown business or would I be
better off trying to move upinside of this company?
Or again, whatever the questionis that you have.
Then you just close your eyesand say to your subconscious
subconscious I know you willtake care of this, I will pay

(22:36):
attention, I will be patient andI will listen for the answer,
and that's all you need to do.
And then you go to sleep and youmight wake up.
You might have a dream in themiddle of the night about what
you should do.
You might wake up suddenly withan idea.
You might go to work and thensomeone says something to you

(22:57):
out of the blue.
And there it is, the answer isserved up.
You might be listening to aprogram on the radio or a
podcast and someone sayssomething and it sparks this
unbelievable idea.
And there it is.
The thing is, we must payattention and we must be aware

(23:18):
that we put the question outthere Universal intelligence,
the subconscious mind, which isattached to universal
intelligence, or God issearching and looking for the
answer attached to universalintelligence, or God is
searching and looking for theanswer.
When you put a search intoGoogle, if it takes a few
moments for the answer to comeup, you don't shut down.
You just wait a moment andthere it is, the answer served

(23:40):
up.
We have to be patient and trustthat the answer will be served
up to us.
It will, but we have to bepatient.
There's a power inside of youyou can use it or you can do it
the old way which is trying tofigure it all out in your
conscious mind.
And what I can tell you isyou're going to experience what
most people experience, which isfrustration, which is anxiety,

(24:04):
which is upset, which isdepression.
These all come about by ustrying to figure things out and
trying to control everything.
Instead, let's turn it over tothis incredible power that works
magic in us already.
Why wouldn't we do that?
Think about it If you werewalking around with a person
next to you who is just thesmartest person ever.

(24:27):
They knew the answer to everyquestion.
Would you not ask them certainquestions to get answers, since
they're so smart and they knowthe answers to all questions?
Of course you would use itbecause that person's right
there with you, the person'sreally great at making money and
you're with them.
You might ask them what do youdo to earn money?

(24:49):
How do you get yourselfmotivated?
And you ask them questions andthey'll serve up answers to you.
We have that person in oursubconscious meaning.
We have this power inside of usthat we can turn to always.
Yet what most of us do is wenever turn to it.
We forget the power.
We don't even realize thispower is in us.

(25:09):
We ignore it and we try tofigure it out because that's
what we were taught how to do,and so what we're learning to do
now is the opposite.
We are going to learn from thispoint forward.
How can I quiet my mind and howcan I ask this incredible power
inside to serve up and give methe answers?

(25:30):
Does that make sense?
You have the power, you are thepower.
Just tap into the power andallow it to give you all that
you need to come back to thebook, you will be delighted to
discover that the forces withinyou will be released, leading to
that desired result.
Here, then, is the source ofpower and wisdom, which places

(25:55):
you in touch with omnipotence, with God, with divine, or the
power that moves the world, guides the planets in their
course and causes the sun toshine.
The subconscious mind is thesource of your ideals,
aspirations and altruistic urges.
It was through the subconsciousmind that Shakespeare perceived

(26:19):
great truths hidden from theaverage man of his day.
Undoubtedly, it was the responseof the subconscious mind that
caused the Greek sculptorPhidias to portray beauty, order
, symmetry and proportion inmarble and bronze.
It enabled the Italian artistRaphael to paint Madonnas and

(26:40):
Ludwig van Beethoven to composesymphonies.
See, let's pause for a second.
There's case after case ofwhere people do tap into this
magical power and then, bytapping into it, to have this
music present, to have thissculpture present itself.

(27:16):
They tapped in and let that dothe work, and then they took
action based on the ideas orthoughts that came up from
tapping into that place.
Is this making sense toeveryone?
I know it is, and if it isn't,just replay it and listen again
and replay it and listen againand suddenly it will click in

(27:39):
that you have this incrediblepower and how to use it.
Let me ask you a question.
Let's imagine for a second thatyou needed to get an operation.
Let's say it's a herniaoperation.
You need to go in and get thesurgery done and I say to you
there is a surgeon that I knowhe's great and the way that he
does it is.
He doesn't give you anesthesia,he talks to your subconscious

(28:02):
mind and from doing that youwon't feel any pain.
You'll be wide awake.
He's going to make theincisions and you'll feel really
great.
What would you think if I saidthat to you?
You'd probably say Mike, you'reout of your mind, they're
putting me to sleep.
I would never let someone dosurgery on me while I was awake.
Think about this.

(28:23):
This is back in the 1840s.
There were surgeries performedin the way that I'm describing
to you in India and there was noanesthesia that was used.
So let's go back to the book, listen to this and see the power
of the subconscious mind atwork.
James Esdale, a Scott surgeonwho worked in Bengal before

(28:46):
ether again, ether was what theywould use to give you
anesthesia or other modernmethods of anesthesia were
discovered.
Between 1843 and 1846, drEsdell performed about 400 major
operations of all kinds, suchas amputations, removal of

(29:09):
tumors and cancerous growths, aswell as operations on the eyes,
ears and throat.
Here it is all operations wereconducted under mental
anesthesia.
Only this indian doctor informedme that the post-operative
mortality rate of his patientsoperated on by Dr Esdale was

(29:33):
extremely low, probably two orthree percent Patients felt no
pain and there were no deathsduring the operations.
Dr Esdale suggested to thesubconscious minds of all his
patients, who were in a hypnoticstate, that no infection or
septic condition would develop.

(29:54):
Now remember this was beforeLouis Pasteur, joseph Lister and
others who pointed out thatbacterial origin of disease and
cause of infection tounsterilized instrument and
organisms.
The Indian surgeon said thatthe reason for the low mortality
rate and the general absence ofinfection, which was reduced to

(30:18):
a minimum, was undoubtedly dueto the suggestions of Dr Esdale
to the subconscious minds of hispatients.
They responded according to thenature of suggestion.
Pause for a second.
This is in the 1840s.
He's doing surgery.
He's making suggestions to thepatient's subconscious mind.

(30:40):
He's telling them I'veperformed this on 300, 400
patients.
They have a belief, since theseother people went through it and
they weren't in pain.
He must be able to do it.
Their subconscious mindbelieves it.
And they weren't in pain.
He must be able to do it.
Their subconscious mindbelieves it, and they don't feel
pain and they don't getinfection.
That's truly a miracle.
But is it?
Maybe not?

(31:01):
Maybe?
It's just we have this limitingbelief that we need to be able
to do things in a certain wayuntil we're proven that we don't
have to do it in a certain way.
And here's proof.
Here's proof that we have anincredible power in our
subconscious mind and that whenwe give it instructions and we

(31:21):
believe in those instructions, and we say I believe that this
higher power God, universe, divine intelligence is going to
give me an answer to thisquestion, and you turn it over
to that power and you trust thatthat power is going to provide
an answer.
And even if you don't get it inthe first, second, third,
fourth, fifth day, you keepsaying I know an answer is

(31:42):
coming, I know it's coming, I'mtrusting the process.
Guess what's going to happen?
You're going to get the answerand you're going to see the
power of your subconscious mindand when that happens for you.
You're going to start to get aconfidence that you never
realized you could have, andthat confidence is in this power
that's inside of you.
And then you'll do it a secondtime and a third time, and that

(32:02):
confidence will grow more andmore and then suddenly you're
going to be a powerhouse ofconfidence.
Why?
Because you realize you don'tneed anything outside of you to
get the answer.
All answers are right inside, all answers exist within the
subconscious.
All we have to do is use thispower and use it in a way that
we ask it a question, listen forthe answer, quiet our mind and

(32:27):
trust that we will be given ananswer.
Over time, we see the powerthat the subconscious mind has

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
