If you want to be inspired, then hang around inspirational people.
I have probably mentioned this a dozen times in my coaching sessions. If you feel that a friend, partner or family member is holding you back from taking that leap, then get out.
Let me explain. You can create distance, you can choose to stop sharing details of your plans, or you can come to realize that this person is why you feel blocked or passive.
In the past 3 years or so, I've been very conscious about who I hang out with. I stopped seeing friends from high school long ago, but sometimes people pop up in your life of whom you think: cool to be in touch but I feel that I'm not understood and thus this relationship is not benefiting me.
You can choose to sit down and think who of your crew is supportive of your dreams, plans and mindset and who is not.
Then choose to step away and add motivated, inspiring, ambitious new friends to your circle. You will move forward big time!
Right now, if I look at my circle, I'm supported and encouraged. Yet, I miss friends who live life like I do, which is building my business around my life and personal goals. Therefore it's one of my goals to proactively approach like-minded entrepreneurs and establish a friendship.
Moral of the story. If you want to change up your life, change up your circle.
