Even though a HUGE number of women of all ages have vulvodynia, it just isn't a topic that you talk about in the break room at work. In fact, it is estimated that 40% of women who have it have NEVER discussed this chronic problem with their health practitioner. Until recently it has been a syndrome with a lot of proposed causes but no definite proof that any of these are the real issue. However, more research is being done with the vaginal microbiome and how changes in the microbiota might act upon pain nerves, the immune system, and more.
This episode is done with the help of our Nurse Practitioner, Susan Jerby NP. We explore the problem and offer new ways of evaluating and treating this largely under-reported and undertreated health condition.
As always, if you need help reach out to us by calling (980)339-5155 or by going to our website, drjerby.com, to set up a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if what we do is a good fit for you.
