What started as a chance encounter in Manila has grown into a global movement. Selina Tomasich, founder and CEO of Hair Aid Inc., was inspired to take action after meeting two nuns working with abandoned children in the Philippines. Their mission to reunite families and provide parents with sustainable skills resonated deeply with her. Initially, she organized sewing training, but when locals expressed a need for haircutting skills, Hair Aid was born.
Since its founding in 2013, Hair Aid has expanded across multiple countries, sending volunteer hairdressers to teach individuals in critical poverty how to cut hair and earn a living. With projects in the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, and beyond, the organization has empowered thousands with a trade that provides financial independence and dignity.
Selina shares the remarkable journey of Hair Aid—from its grassroots beginnings to its worldwide impact. Through real-life stories and heartfelt moments, she highlights how learning a simple skill can open doors to new opportunities and transform lives.
This conversation is a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness can lead to lasting change. Discover the mission behind Hair Aid - and how you too can create change, starting with giving just 2 hours per month…
