Patricia Jones, an Arkansas native and longtime Brooklyn, New York resident (not from Harlem – no one can be perfect), is a distinguished poet, educator, cultural activist, and anthologist. Her works include "The Beloved Community" and "A Lucent Fire: New & Selected Poems". Jones has co-edited groundbreaking anthologies and her poems have appeared in prestigious publications from Harlem to Hollywood. She's received numerous awards, including the 2017 Jackson Poetry Prize, and has taught at various institutions including Hunter College and Barnard College. Jones is also an emeritus fellow for the Black Earth Institute and organizer of the American Poets Congress. www.psjones.com
