About Dr. Nelson Valena 

Dr. Valena is a board-certified medical doctor in physical medicine and rehabilitation and brain injury medicine with a practice in neurological rehabilitation for over 20 years. In 2011, he suffered a minor stroke that has catalyzed a life re-evaluation, leading him to the exploration of alternative forms of healing. He completed an integrative Medicine Fellowship with the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine. He has a special interest in energy medicine and shamanism. 

He is introducing holistic treatments to his brain injury patients at Nexus Neuro Recovery Center in Conroe, Texas to help open the mind and hearts of the patients, staff, and caregivers to natural healing practices. Since 2021, he has been developing a retreat center in Cold Spring, Texas called Golden Hill Retreat Center, where the mission is to help people connect with their inner healer. Building a better world through community and collaboration is a key mission for the Golden Hill Retreat Center. They are also committed to helping introduce holistic healing strategies to the current healthcare paradigm.
