Yuli (00:00):
Welcome to the Healist
Podcast, where we unpack the
many layers of holistic health.
I'm Yuli, founder of Healist, your portal to holistic healers
worldwide.
Now let's go deep.
Hello, dear friends, andwelcome to this new and exciting
format for the Healist Podcast.
We are live on video.
(00:21):
It's a new chapter for me, forthis incredible container that
I've been creating for the pasttwo years, and I feel like I'm
ready, and we're ready, to stepmore into the light and share
our message in this new formatand hopefully it resonates.
I know some of you still mightbe listening on audio, but just
so you know, now you can findthis podcast in a video format
(00:44):
as well on YouTube, spotify and,of course, on our social
channels.
So super excited to try thisand share more with you, more of
my personal stories, my journey, my views on holistic healing,
as well as have some new guestscoming in as well.
Today.
I wanted to start by bringing areally a topic that really
(01:05):
close to my heart and one of themyths I would say about
holistic healing, and it's thisidea that it takes one practice
or one session or onepractitioner to give you that
miraculous results, and I thinka lot of people come to holistic
healing, looking for thatsavior right, looking for
somebody who completely cantransform them in an instant,
(01:26):
and, as many of us who've beenin this field and working and
going through our own journeys,we know that it is one of those
things that it takes work andlayers, and it takes multiple
healers and practitioners tooften get to a place of balance
and coherence, and that's whatreally the ultimate goal that
we're looking for.
So one of the things that I'mpassionate about and Healist is
(01:50):
really the reflection of thatI'm passionate about the variety
of holistic healing modalitiesthat there are out there and
it's really incredible,especially what's been happening
in the past few years, becausewhat we're seeing is in addition
to all the ancient modalitiesthat have been here for
thousands of years.
Because what we're seeing is inaddition to all the ancient
modalities that have been herefor thousands of years, some of
them have been forgotten, someof them are being rediscovered
(02:11):
or some of them have beenpreserved, you know, like
acupuncture and Chinese medicineor shamanism, and some of the
more mainstream modalities today, like yoga and meditation,
right, but there's so many newmodalities that's being created
now that are sometimes a blendof different ancient techniques
(02:33):
or even modern discoveries andsometimes it's just completely
new downloads that arepractitioners receiving and they
create completely their ownmovement or technique.
So it's been really exciting towatch.
Today, on our platform alone,we have 200 plus modalities, and
most of them are submitted byour community.
(02:55):
Some of them are researched byour team, but it's really an
almost every day.
We get suggestions for newmodalities to add to that
incredible list.
So this is something that peoplethat come to holistic healing
are not always aware of.
There's definitely modalitiesthat are more common and more
becoming more mainstream thesedays, but there's just so many
(03:15):
more that are just beautifulblends of different teachings
and, of course, on that subject,we can go into the topic of
resistance.
There's so many people that saythat the purity needs to be
preserved right and they'reseeing those modalities that are
forming and that are blendsright and they're saying, well,
this is not pure, it's nothonoring the traditions.
(03:36):
And I come from a school ofthought that if it works for
somebody, if it helps one personto heal, it has a place in this
world.
And, of course, we welcome ourcommunity, we welcome all
modalities and and practitionersof all kinds, but it's
something that is not often seenby clients or people that are
(03:56):
seekers who come to the space, right, and they have very, maybe
sometimes a vague idea what isholistic healing all about,
right?
So just acknowledging thatholistic healing is this
beautiful, beautiful field thatreally hosts a variety and
really really a whole range ofmodalities that addresses
(04:17):
anything from body, mind tospirit.
And this is really one of thekey benefits of working with
holistic healers that often, andmany of those modalities, they
really work on all three of theaspects and this is something
that you won't find intraditional medicine and any
other techniques, and that's thebeauty of it.
And I think often thepractitioners or people that
(04:40):
work with those modalities theydon't give enough credit, right,
how much their work is reallyworking all those three layers.
For example, even yoga, right, often perceived in our Western
world as maybe a fitness routineor ritual, while in fact,
anyone who studied yoga deeperunderstands that it really works
(05:01):
on calming our mind, connectingus to our spirit and, yes,
there is also fitness benefitsto that.
But really, at the core, yogawas created to help us sit still
in meditation.
So, again, a lot of thosemodalities and yoga is a
holistic healing modality, eventhough, again, it might be seen
as a fitness practice, but ithas a deep healing roots, I
(05:26):
think.
Again, just to address anotherchallenge that people have with
the word healing itself, justeven me saying that yoga is a
healing modality might triggersome people or raise some
questions, but it is, and theword healing is referring here.
In case of yoga, if you arepracticing them on yourself, you
are healing your body, you arestepping into that path of a
(05:48):
healer for yourself, and anyyoga practitioner or teacher who
takes you there, helps you, guide you there, they're purely
a guide on your healing journeyand you're the one who's taking
charge of your body and mind andspirit.
So to get back to multiplemodalities idea, so anyone who
comes to this holistic healingspace often gets overwhelmed
(06:12):
once they start digging into whois out there, what modality to
choose.
It's very easy to getoverwhelmed, and understandably
so, if you had to choose between200 different modalities and a
lot of them again are stillpretty new and you might not
have exact idea what to expectmultiple modalities and how.
It's important to have yourholistic team in place right,
(06:48):
because you're going to needmultiple guides on this journey.
It won't be a one modality orone session of one practitioner
that's going to solve all thethings that you're working
through, all the releases thatneed to be released for you, all
the limiting beliefs, all theblocks on this journey back to
your spirit.
So, really working with a teamand slowly forming that team I
(07:11):
understand it might take sometime but really focusing on
building that team that has yourback.
That, just like in traditionalmedicine, when you come see,
maybe, an internal doctor, a GYN, a gastro doctor, whatever,
that is, all those differentspecialties, so you have to
think in a holistic healing witha similar approach.
(07:33):
So, even though the specialtiesare less by organs and body
parts, they're more byapproaches to healing.
Right.
And this is where you have thefreedom, as a seeker of someone
who's coming on this path, toreally decide what's right for
you.
For some people it might beeasier to start with the
(07:55):
physical aspects, to start withtheir body.
Maybe there's a movement, maybeit is a yoga, maybe it is a
qigong or something that movesmore of the energy.
But for some people they mightwant to go first into the spirit
side of things, when they feellike they really need help with
their energetic field, theirelectromagnetic field.
(08:15):
That's where energy healingmight be beneficial or something
like, even like acupuncture, that can really help move the
energy in the right direction.
But for some people maybe theycome to this place in a stage
when they really need holistichelp quickly and they are faced
(08:36):
with a physical condition.
They might seek something, thatintegrative medicine or
functional medicine, to reallyaddress some of the symptoms as
well and not just the root ofthe problem.
And then some people it mightbe completely mental right,
mental blocks and challengesaround their lifestyle choices,
for example, so it could becoaching or a nutritionist right
(08:59):
who works really to look attheir lifestyle and adjust some
of those choices.
So really there's not one pathat all.
But again, of seeing it as ateam of professionals who are
working with you is reallyimportant Because, again, often
the disappointment in holistichealing comes from that idea or
that expectation that onepractitioner or one modality is
(09:22):
going to fix it all, and that's,of course, is unrealistic.
So if you are somebody who'sjust embarking on this journey
of holistic healing, if you aresomebody who's just embarking on
this journey of holistichealing, I highly recommend to
look at it as more of a journey, where you're now stepping on
this path, when you're going tobe discovering parts of yourself
and you're going to be workingon different parts of yourself
through different guides anddifferent modalities that will
(09:45):
teach you a lot about yourself, about your body, mind and spirit
.
Just look at it as a team thatis really there for you and
rooting for you, that you'recreating, and it might take
years.
Right, it might be that you'restarting again with one of the
areas and then adding anotherlayer, and that might lead you
that modality might lead you tosomething else Again.
(10:05):
If you start, for example, withbreath work as a way to release
trauma, you might discover thatit's really helpful to embrace
meditation right after, becausethis is where you're going to
get the deeper insights and evenintegrate your release even
deeper.
So this is what happens to mostpeople on this journey you
start with monomodality, butthen you start uncovering.
(10:26):
If you have that naturalcuriosity in you, you will start
uncovering more and more waysto go deeper in those practices
and again, the benefits arereally incredible.
If you are somebody who is ableto expedite that process and
really come to a place where youare open to working with
(10:49):
multiple practitioners andembracing all those different
parts of yourself, the resultsare really incredible and I have
to tell you from my ownpersonal story somebody who's
been on this holistic healingjourney for most of my life, but
really more actively, like itis my job for, I would say, the
past five years it's reallyincredible once you start
(11:10):
layering those practices rightand for me it was actually
starting with meditation andreally getting deep and deep
into the practice and thenlayering on other and then
uncovering sometimes part ofmyself that I thought I was
comfortable with but all of asudden, through this practice of
meditation, I realized thatthey don't belong to me.
(11:31):
For example, really since Istarted my deep meditation
practice, I realized how my bodywas out of alignment because,
first of all, it was really hardto sit still for too long and
it really started bothering meto the point that I started to
seek professional help from aholistic practitioner who does a
body alignment and works withChinese medicine, acupuncture
(11:53):
and again, more of like achiropractic alignment to help
me to realign my posture, myback, I have to tell you, all of
that had tremendous effect onme, just in terms of even
breathing and being able tospeak more clearly.
And again, for years it's justsomething that I didn't
prioritize and I didn't think itwas of importance until again I
(12:15):
started to meditate and Idiscovered how much my back was
out of shape from years ofsitting in front of a computer
and working in tech.
So this is just one example.
And then, you know, once Imoved into that, of course yoga
has been always part of my life, but also layering breath work
on top of it.
Through some of the yogapractices and some of the
(12:36):
practitioners I worked with, they started incorporating
breath work into yoga practicesand I saw how powerful it was
and it was giving me a releasethat just a pure yoga practice
was not enough and that wasn'tgiving right.
So just learning more aboutbreath work and reading books
I'm a big believer and if thepractice interests me, I'm going
(12:58):
to pick up a book on thesubject and just go, not just
with my body and my practice butalso with my mind, and it
really helps me to understandhow things work and it makes it
more integrated practice.
So, you know, once I got intobreath work, I read some amazing
books, including a breath, andit was just really mind blowing
(13:20):
to understand the importance oflike simple practice that we
take for granted so much.
Just even you know the factthat breathing with an open
mouth is not, it's not advisable, right For many, many reasons.
So just learning those simpletechniques and really taking
those practices and layeringthem together.
So really today, when I look atmy life and the amazing team
(13:41):
that I've assembled really ithas all of those different
components I tend to do abreathwork session, a guided
breathwork session with apractitioner once in a while,
breathwork session, a guidedbreathwork session with a
practitioner once in a while.
I'm still part of themeditation classes and groups
and even though I practice on myown as well, but it's really
important to have a guide andsomebody who can help you
(14:02):
uncover more and more layers.
I try to see a body alignmentpractitioner at least every
quarter, if not more often if Ineed to, and acupuncture and
things like that.
I work with a herbalist when Ifeel like I have hormonal
imbalance or anything that comesup in my life or maybe too much
stress that causing differentother conditions.
(14:27):
I'm just fortunate I guess, byworking in this field, have
access to a lot of those peoplethat can help with all those
different moments in life, rightwhen we really need help.
And of course, for me.
That's what brought me to bringaccess to more people to
holistic healing, because I sawhow important it was for me
again, not just find one person, but find a team that I could,
(14:51):
that I could plug into theirwisdom and their skills anytime
me and my body we needed it, andhow important it is for every
person to have access to allthose incredible, incredible
healers.
And I know that a lot of peoplemight think well, it's also a
place of privilege, right Tohave those people, and I know a
(15:11):
lot of those treatments.
They might not be accessible toall, but I have to encourage
you that.
My counter argument to thatfirst of all, a lot of those
practices are either completelyfree or they cost as much as
maybe reading a book on thesubject, just like with breath
work, maybe taking one guidedsession and practicing on your
own and really seeing it more asan opportunity to learn right.
(15:33):
So I really love this idea ofhiring hiring a holistic healer
or teacher to show you sometechniques, right when it comes
to like meditation or or breathwork again, and then continuing
on your own and reading morebooks and and maybe attending
some free classes mostpractitioners I know there are
(15:53):
here in this world to serve youand to serve people in need, and
most of them offer some sort ofa free offering or a class or a
course or even a freeconsultation.
I know for sure because 30% ofthe sessions that are our
services that are posted onHealist, on our platform,
(16:15):
they're free.
They're a free consultation,whether it's exploratory call or
just an initial consultation ora quick intro, where you have
an opportunity to get to knowthe practitioner, ask them some
questions, but it's really moreaccessible, I would say, than
people think.
And not to mention that there'sa lot of practitioners in other
countries in this world thatare working remotely or
(16:37):
virtually.
So if you're somebody who livesin the Midwest, you know are
able to maybe access apractitioner all across the
world and something likeIndonesia for very little price.
And this is exactly where aplatform like ours comes in,
because we are able to offerglobal services and access to
(16:58):
global practitioners.
Just think outside the box.
I would really encourage peoplenot to make the financial
abundance a block in accessingholistic healing Because, like I
mentioned, there are just somany ways to do so.
There's healers in othercountries that their currency
just has a big difference withyours and they suddenly are much
(17:22):
more accessible than your localpractitioners.
There are free classes that arehosted.
Often there's whole platformsthat do like virtual summits and
where you can maybe not workone-on-one with a practitioner
but learn about a lot of thosetechniques and, again, and most
practitioners that I know, ifyou are somebody in need and you
really come from a genuine, authentic place and you share
(17:45):
your story, they will be able tohelp you.
A lot of them you know takealso clients in need, often
knowing that it's a beautifulkarmic cycle that will usually
repay itself.
You can work with them, talk tothem.
A lot of them also offersliding scale services.
That's another great thingabout this incredible community
(18:07):
of healers.
They're really here to serveall clients of all ranges and
all access levels.
A lot of them will offer what'scalled a sliding scale pricing,
which is a range right andyou're asked to offer what you
can afford this moment.
So, again, I don't thinkfinances should be an issue in
(18:29):
accessing holistic healing.
In most cases, it's your owninternal resistance or maybe the
fear of the unknown right.
A lot of those modalities, likeI mentioned, they're still new.
They're still being explored.
Some of them are still beingscientifically proven, but the
idea is that they're out thereand there are so many ways to
(18:51):
approach different, evendiseases like cancer, with
holistic healing these days, andthere's so many beautiful
practitioners that reallyspecialize in those.
Whether it's a menopause or,again, cancer treatment, even if
they don't provide the primarycare for you, they're able to
support you on those journeys.
And again, I think it's moreabout the exploration and
(19:14):
realizing that it might takemultiple modalities and the
multiple healers to bring you tothat state of coherence and,
most importantly, to rememberthat they're just here to guide
you, to guide you to your owncoherence and your own balance,
to guide your body to that stateof homeostasis, and that we all
(19:34):
are craving and it's ourbirthright, but ultimately it's
you who is healing you.
So they're just here again toguide you, but it's your body,
your mind, your spirit that isassisting them on this journey.
So I think it's incrediblyimportant to be open and um and
(19:55):
open to receive.
A lot of us also havechallenges to receive because
we're more of a giving modepeople.
So it's something also thatcomes up a lot in holistic
healing.
But I really encourage.
My mission here in the world isto encourage people to explore
more of holistic healing and beopen to many more beautiful
modalities and offerings thatare especially flourishing.
(20:18):
In the last, I would say, couple of years, it's just been
really really beautiful to watchdifferent things, different
practices, come to our world andthere is something for everyone
.
It's so easy these days to findsomething that will resonate
with your soul and really giveyou the solution that you're
looking for.
So that was my first episode.
(20:40):
I hope you enjoyed it and Iwould love any questions and, of
course, explore Healist andcheck out our beautiful platform
that recently opened our doorsto clients and serving clients
on this journey, as well ashealers, which we've been doing
for the past couple of years.
So we're really, really excitedto open our doors and again
(21:02):
help people navigate thisjourney of holistic healing and
open their minds to all thebeautiful practitioners and
modalities that we have today, and I can't wait to serve more
people and help more people onthis journey when they come to
realization that whateverthey've been doing the
traditional medicine, thehealthcare system is failing
(21:25):
them.
Whatever brings you to holistichealing, it's an extremely
welcoming world and it's a worldof, I would say, the most
kindest and open-hearted peoplethat I've ever seen Just give it
a chance and come to it again, also open-hearted, also know
that it's a journey.
It's not gonna take onemiraculous healer on one
(21:48):
miraculous modality to fix youright.
It's about finding those guides, and in my next few episodes
I'm gonna talk more about whatit takes to find the right guide
and what to look for and how tomake sure you find those guides
that really resonate with you.
All right, my dear friends,it's been a true pleasure and
can't wait to support you moreon your holistic journey.
