His college baseball career was interrupted by a 9-month deployment to Iraq with the United States Army. After completing his service in the United States Army he finished his academic and athletic career including a Master’s where he realized his love for storytelling through the camera. Out of his love of country, passion for storytelling, and dedication to his military brothers - he has spawned projects that now help veterans and their families. His work has been featured and seen from around the world including the Sundance Film Festival. He is the founder of The Veterans Project, The Caregiver Project, and The Veterans Project Podcast. Over the past six years, Tim's traveled the world capturing the legacies of his fellow veterans and their families. The Veterans Project is a photographic essay not just for the warfighter, but for civilians as well. The project serves as a collective database, capturing the stories of veterans who have since returned home from World War Two, Korea, Vietnam, and the Global War on Terrorism. The goal of The Veterans Project is to capture the warfighter spirit, and establish an educational discourse for civilians who want to know what reintegration into polite society looks like. In Tim’s own words - “This project serves as an educational tool for all those who want it.  It is a visual essay of the warfighter at his/her most vulnerable point.  I can't describe how much it means when my brothers-in-arms let down their walls, and tell me their stories.  The project serves as a platform for each warfighter to express their own singular perspective. At the very least, I hope you gain a new understanding of what it means to fight and come back to a society that doesn't always seem so accepting. At the very most, I hope you gain a new appreciation for the men and women who put their lives on the line.  Maybe now, when you see that soldier in the airport sitting by himself on his way to land 5,000 miles away, you'll think of your son, brother, daughter, or sister.  Maybe it will stir some compassion within.  I hope this project can narrow the disconnect between our fighting force and the civilians they protect. I hope you enjoy The Veterans Project.” https://www.thevetsproject.com/tvp-podcast/the-meaning-of-memorial-day https://www.thevetsproject.com/ https://www.thevetsproject.com/podcast https://www.thevetsproject.com/contribute https://www.thevetsproject.com/the-blog https://www.thevetsproject.com/podcast https://www.instagram.com/theveteransproject/ https://www.facebook.com/thevetsproject/ https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-veterans-project-podcast/id1476947491
