What if that unexpected pause in your life wasn't a detour but a divine redirection? After experiencing a 365-day hiatus following a layoff, I've discovered something transformative about the sacred work of reestablishing—it's not about erasing what happened, but returning to who you truly are.

The first day of autumn brings with it a powerful invitation. It's time to stop settling for relevance and start reclaiming our rootedness. Throughout this journey, I've come to understand that a career can pay well without fulfilling your calling, that comfort often masquerades as contentment while keeping you stagnant. True reestablishment happens through three powerful movements: reconnecting with your authentic self, rebuilding foundations on truth rather than trauma, and reclaiming your God-given rhythm without apology.

This transformative work doesn't require overhauling your entire existence overnight. It begins with five simple yet profound practices: auditing your agreements to distinguish between alignment and obligation, creating a brief daily ritual that reconnects you to yourself, reaching out to someone who makes you feel safe or stretched, making one purpose-over-performance move each week, and journaling about what you're reestablishing daily. With only three months left in the year, don't postpone your transformation until January. You can begin right now, understanding that you're not late and not lost—you're simply being reestablished. Ready to give yourself permission to return home to who you've always been? Let's walk this path together. Share your reestablishment journey with me and join our community of those brave enough to choose rootedness over relevance.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
So, before we begin, let's take a breath together,
inhale and out Y'all.
Today is not just a Monday,it's not just the first day of
autumn, it's the first day ofreestablish.

(00:23):
And something in me knows thatthis moment, this exact day, is
a divine alignment.
I don't know what you've beencarrying, I don't know what
you've been running from, but Ido know that God will give you a
front row seat to the rebirthof you if you're willing to

(00:50):
reestablish.
So here's my invitation to you.
I need you to get one thingclear Reestablishing is not
about pretending that the lastchapter didn't happen because
y'all, let me tell you somethingit did.
It's not about wiping the slateclean like none of it mattered.

(01:12):
Reestablishing is aboutreturning.
It's the holy work ofremembering who you were before
the world convinced you toshrink, before disappointment
made you play safe, before thetitles and trauma tried to put
limits on your name.
See, for me, today is not justthe first day of going back to

(01:47):
work after more than 365 days.
How many people can actuallysay that and have this level of
peace in their spirit?
See, today for me is aboutunderstanding who I am.

(02:10):
See, for those heart seekerswho have been following this
journey, know that I spent thelast year, more than 365 days,
more than a year, navigating anunexpected pause after being
laid off.
But what looked like a setbackbecame my setup, because I

(02:34):
didn't just get time off, I gottime in.
I got time in alignment, timein purpose, time in process, and
what I discovered was this yourcareer can be a good job and
still not be your God assignment.
Your role can pay you well andstill not call you deeply.
See, this season, this seasonright here, this reestablished

(02:59):
season, is where we stopsettling for relevance and start
reclaiming our rootedness.
You heard me it's time to godeep, it's time to anchor in,
it's time to get to a placewhere we know who we are, who we

(03:20):
are called to be, and move inthat.
See, in this season, we aregoing to operate like Jeremiah
17 and 8.
Yeah, you know I give youhomework and you know I'm not
going to tell you what thescripture says, so I'm going to

(03:40):
need you to go and read it.
But what I will say is thisthat we are not wandering, that
we are not guessing, that we areplanted, rooted and
reestablished.
And let's break down what thisreestablished is so that we
connect it to our rebuild.

(04:00):
And as we begin to reclaimNumber one again, we are going
to reconnect Number one again.
We are going to reconnect.
We're reconnecting withourselves, not who people may
remember, but who we have become.
We are reconnecting with God,not the version of him that fits

(04:28):
in our comfort zone, but theone who is calling you higher.
See, we're not just going toreconnect with the vision, that
one that may have been shelvedbecause you got tired or got
scared.
Now we're going to pick thatback up because, as we reconnect
, we end up hitting number two, which is to rebuild.
So not everything needs to bepicked back up again.

(04:50):
Some things, y'all you justwon't have to leave there, and
it's okay.
Some things need a whole newfoundation, one built on truth
and not trauma.
And in this season we're goingto stop patching holes and build
brand new wings.
You hear me?

(05:10):
Sometimes you're going to haveto jump in and build your wings
on the way down.
Sometimes you're going to haveto get out of that comfort zone
that has gotten you to a placewhere you think that everything
is just cool and everything isjust complacent, and you are.

(05:31):
Nothing is being turned upsidedown, and that's cool, but I
would ask you when was the lasttime that you've actually grown?
When was the last time thatyou've had conversations with
individuals that you got off thephone and realized that you
needed to level up?

(05:52):
See, in this season, beingaround the same people,
especially if your conversationshave not changed from last year
to this year, that's a problem, and if they're not congruent
with the goals that you have andthe things that you want to do.
I'm not saying that you have tocut people off, but you're

(06:13):
going to have to learn to get inthe right environment.
The right environment wherethey are talking about goals and
dreams.
The right environment wherethey are talking about growth.
The right environment wherethey are talking about wealth
and money.
The right environment wherethey are talking about growth.
The right environment wherethey are talking about wealth
and money.
The right environment wherethey are talking about legacy.
The right environment wherethey are talking about how they

(06:36):
can be good stewards in thecommunity and making an impact.
See, the other conversationsare cool every now and then, but
are those conversations movingyou forward to where it is that
you said that you wanted to go,or are they just keeping you
stuck and stagnant andcomfortable in the place that

(06:58):
you've been for year after year, and saying that you want more,
desire more, need more, but youdon't want to go after more.
So we are rebuilding in thisseason, and that takes me to
number three.
We are reclaiming, reclaim yourname, reclaim your voice,
reclaim your God-given rhythm, reclaim that you don't have to

(07:22):
earn your way back into yourself, that you just have to come
home.
Okay, see, there's a reason whyI go by Kiana, talena Nothing
wrong with the last name, butwhen I decided to do some
research on what exactly Kianameant, god's gracious gift.

(07:47):
Talena, a place where treasureis stored.
So if I'm just operating andmoving off of those two things,
I know that I'm not put on thisearth to be mediocre.
So I'm reclaiming my name, I'mreclaiming my voice and I'm

(08:11):
reclaiming my God given rhythm.
And for those of you all who aretrying to figure out, well, how
do I do that?
Where does the real work begin?
Without all of the fluff andand trying to be cute, I need
you to audit your agreements.

(08:32):
Take 30 minutes today, yes,today.
I don't care what time it isthat you are listening to my
voice.
Grab a pen.
I didn't say go to your notesection in your phone.
I said grab a pen, your phone.

(08:56):
I say grab a pen, write downevery yes you've said in the
last month.
Ask yourself, ask yourself wasthat a yes from alignment or
obligation?
Did I say yes because I wantedto or because I didn't know how
to say no?
See, I now need you to circlethe ones that felt real heavy.
Revoke those agreements thisweek.

(09:18):
That's step one.
Audit your agreements.
Step two create a daily,non-negotiable ritual, 10
minutes max.
Pick one sacred daily rhythmthat reconnects you to you.
If that's taking two minutes topray at sunrise, if that's you

(09:45):
writing either on paper or onyour mirror five times, I am
still worthy Before you pickyour phone up, and I need you to
speak your full name aloudevery day and bless it.
So you're not trying to fixyour whole life in a day, but

(10:06):
you are trying to reestablish arhythm that keeps you anchored.
See, in order to get somethingyou've never had, you must do
something that you've never done, and so sometimes these
patterns are coming in tointerrupt the patterns that you
need to get rid of.
The third thing that I wouldlike for you to do is send one

(10:31):
alignment text.
There is somebody you've beenfeeling led to reach out to, not
for clout, not for networking, just connection.
Send the text.
Hey, I'm being intentionalabout aligning with people who
make me feel safe, seen orstretched, you came to mind.

(10:54):
Can we reconnect or connectsoon?
See seeds move mountains whenplanted with purpose.
So don't delay.
Number four I need you to chooseone purpose over performance
move.

(11:14):
Ask yourself what's one thing Ican do this week that has
nothing to do with peoplepleasing.
It might be saying no, thankyou without explaining yourself,
wearing the outfit that makesyou feel beautiful, not just
presentable, deleting the draftthat isn't in your real voice.

(11:36):
This week is for bold insideout moves.
And the fifth thing I wouldlike for you to do is journal
this one prompt every day forthe next seven days, what I am
reestablishing today in thought,in truth and in action.

(11:57):
Keep it simple One truth a day,one sentence, one shift, one
seed.
We have work to do and now isthe time.
We've entered into a new season.
You should feel the shift.

(12:17):
You should want something morein this season.
This year y'all has flown by.
There are what?
October, november, december,that's it.
October, november, december, that's it, and then we're into
another year, and I do not wantyou entering into 2026 saying

(12:43):
the same thing that you wantedto work on in 2025.
Don't wait until the new year todecide that this is going to be
my new year's resolution New me, new you, all of these
different things, new year, newme, whatever the saying is.
You know what it is when youcan start today.

(13:06):
See, this season will not bewatered by pretending.
It will only flourish throughyour presence, through your
permission to return, throughyour willingness to say I'm not
who I was, but I'm not losteither.
I'm being reestablished.
So here's to this new season, here's to truth without apology,
here's to life that reflectswho you really are, not just

(13:29):
what you do.
So until next time, rememberthat you are not late, you are
not too broken, you are not toofar.
You're just being reestablished, and I'm right here with you.
