Have you ever felt stuck in a waiting season, wondering if God has forgotten your prayers? That frustrating space between prayer and manifestation can leave us questioning everything—our timing, our worthiness, even our calling.

The truth about divine delays is both challenging and liberating. Through a deeply personal story of unexpected job loss that stretched from a temporary setback into a year-long journey, this episode explores how what feels like punishment is often protection. After applying to over 300 positions with no results, I faced a profound revelation: my security had been anchored in employment rather than in God's provision and the gifts He placed within me. This waiting season wasn't about denial—it was about direction.

Many of us operate from a place of self-preservation, putting our true purpose on the back burner while prioritizing what feels safe. We pray for breakthrough while simultaneously keeping our foot on the brake. But what if the "not yet" season isn't about waiting for God to act, but about us finally taking action on instructions He's already given? The honest truth is that there's no healing in hiding, and what we sometimes call "peace" is actually avoidance disguised as patience.

Whether you're at a red light (genuine divine pause), a yellow light (proceed with caution), or a green light with your foot still on the brake (fear-based inaction), this message will help you discern where you truly stand. Remember: you're not being punished—you're being positioned. You're not forgotten—you're being prepared. You're right on time for the right thing with the right heart. Ready to transform your waiting room into a preparation room? Listen now, and discover how to remain present, purposeful, and powerful even in your "not yet" season.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
What if I told you the delay wasn't denial, it was
divine protection?
What if I told you the doordidn't open because you're still
being prepared for what is onthe other side?
What if I told you the silencewasn't God ignoring you.
It was him building somethingdeeper in you?
What if I told you you're notyet is the exact space where God

(00:24):
is strengthening your character?
What if I told you you're notstuck.
You're being still for a reason.
What if I told you that theversion of you who prayed for it
wouldn't have been able tocarry it?
What if I told you the waitingis proof that God is intentional
with your life?
Told you, the waiting is proofthat God is intentional with

(00:49):
your life.
What if I told you you're notlate.
You're on divine timeline, nota public one.
See, these are the questionsthat we have to begin to ask
ourselves when we feel likewe're in a place of in between,
when we feel like we're in thisnot yet season.

(01:10):
See, sometimes I get it, itfeels like we should be further
along.
It feels like we want God togive us the green light.
Instead, we're seeing red.
The green light Instead, we'reseeing red, or, for some of us.
We may even be at a yellowlight and we're trying to figure

(01:31):
out.
Do we hit the gas and go, or dowe go ahead and slow down
because we're not going to getthrough the intersection in time
?
See, in this episode we aregoing to dive into how it feels
to sometimes be in this spaceand be discouraged in the delay,

(01:52):
but also questioning if wemissed God, or wondering if the
not yet means no.
So let's sit with this for asecond, because we're going to
unpack it and, most of all,we're going to get honest about
what we do in this space.

(02:13):
You ready?
You feel a bit frustrated.
Are you frustrated with theweight?
I understand, but let me tellyou the truth your waiting
season.
It can be hard, but we have tounderstand that in our waiting

(02:33):
it is protection for where we'regetting ready to go.
We live in this world whereeverything is on demand Our
meals, our groceries, our ridesand even advice, especially if
you're scrolling through socialmedia.
Some of it's going to be goodand some of it's not so good.
So when God tells us to wait,it feels like something has gone

(02:56):
wrong.
But what if I told you that thenot yet isn't punishment, it's
just your preparation.
So you're not being stalled, you're being shaped.
So let me set it up for you.
I'm in this space that I'veprayed for, in the home that I

(03:17):
have prayed for the cars that Ihave wanted.
I have, and everything appearsto be going well.
For those of you all who havefollowed me for a while, you
know that I have gone through adivorce on the other side of it,
gone through my or we neverhave fully gone through but in

(03:43):
my healing process of thatversion of me.
And so now I thought I had itall together.
I had the job, I had the income, I had the savings, I had all
of the things right.
And then I get the Zoom meetinginvite.

(04:04):
Not sure what it's about, but Ishow up because I know that I
have been an exemplary employee, only to show up to realize that
there's some downsizing in mydepartment and my position,
along with a few others, wouldbe eliminated.

(04:27):
My last day was that day andalthough I'm questioning, ok,
this shouldn't be that hard.
You know, I have great skills,I have great soft skills.
This should be an easytransition for me into another
role, receive the severance pay.

(04:48):
I'm like, okay, this is maybejust God saying you know what.
You've been working hard.
You need the summer off.
Summer came, summer went, fallcame, fall went, summer went,

(05:09):
fall came, fall went, wintercame, winter went, spring came,
spring went.
And I'm applying and I'm likeGod.
It's your daughter again.
I'm not sure what's going on,but saving is starting to look a
little sketchy.
What is it that you would haveme to do?
What is it that I am missingwhere I'm sitting?

(05:42):
And I had some prayer time withGod and he revealed to me what
I needed to learn in this season.
And so, yes, the divorce seasonfor me happened.
Yes, the unemployment seasonfor me happened.
Yes, it took for me to have toapply to over 300 jobs and still

(06:06):
not have an offer letter, but Iwas in this place of becoming
anxious.
I was in this place ofrealizing that my crutch was in
the job and not in God, was inthe job and not in God.

(06:28):
And so, although I had thisbrand that he has given me, this
gift that he has given me, thetalents that he has given me,
I'm still doing not necessarilythe bare minimum in my business,
but I'm not going full throttlebecause I'm still feeling like
I need the job to propel me.
I need the job to give me whatit is that I need.

(06:51):
And God's like oh really.
So you think that I removed youfrom the position, for you to
only feel like you need to beput back in a position that was
stripped away from you andyou're going to put all of your

(07:13):
eggs back into this same basketagain.
I had to teach you a lesson inthis pause season, in this
season of waiting that that isnot going to be what is going to
sustain you.
Yes, you could have easilygotten another job.
Yes, I could have easily madesure that they saw your resume

(07:37):
and given you a call a long timeago.
But what I needed you to learnin this season is that you need
to rely on me, that you need torely on the gifts and the
talents that I have placed downon the inside of you for you to
do what it is that I have calledyou to do.
And I was taken aback becauseI'm like well, god, I am doing

(08:01):
the things that you've called meto do.
I wrote the children's book, Ipublished it, I did the
nonprofit, I got that going.
I posted some things about theapparel company and he's like
well, if this were your job, howmuch harder would you be

(08:23):
working in it?
And y'all can I tell you thehonest truth, that was a hard
pill to swallow because Irealized that If the job would
have come, that all of thethings that I'm now working on I

(08:48):
probably would have put it backon the back burner again,
because it was almost like I hadmade the job the item.
And I'll tell you why it'sbecause I had been in a place
where I had not had money in thebank, where I've had to file

(09:11):
for bankruptcy, where I've hadvehicles repossessed, and so I
didn't want to get back to thatplace again.
And I'm feeling myself gettingemotional even in sharing this
with you all.
But it's in this space whereGod is like this is the story

(09:32):
that you need to be able to tellEverything else that you have
been doing has been great, butthis, this is the transformation
that someone else is waiting on, because they're always putting
their purpose on the backburner to pick up something else
, and so when things get hard, you put the purpose down and you

(09:58):
pick up something else, andthat's not how we should be
operating in life.
The purpose, our assignment.
What we have been created forshould be first and foremost,
and all of the other things thatcome in our lives come behind

(10:18):
that.
But see, I was.
I'm looking at this, thismentality that I have put myself
, this preservation mentalitythat I have put myself in,
because I'm like, I've worked sohard To get here.
I've worked so hard to buy myfirst house.

(10:41):
I've worked so hard to putmoney in the bank.
I've worked so hard.
I've worked so hard, notrealizing that, if I put all of

(11:05):
my time, energy and effort intobuilding the very thing that God
has shown me, because there issomeone who is listening to the
sound of my voice and you'retrying to figure out what to do
next.
What should you be doing in thisseason of?
You're not yet, and the thingthat I'm going to share with you

(11:25):
is you may have been given someinstructions to move on.
You may have been putting somethings on the back burner
because you feel like this youneed to do something else first
in order to get to the nextthing, but can I tell you that

(11:45):
the next thing is the very thingthat you should be doing to
propel you into the next versionof yourself, that authentic
version of you that is waitingto emerge.
So, in this not yet season, while you're still trying to

(12:07):
figure out what to do, I needyou to get honest.
I need you to think about whatis it that God has been sharing

(12:33):
with you that you have yet tomove on?
Yeah, I need you to just thinkabout it for a little bit
Because, yes, it could truly bethat your season is to kind of
just sit and to prepare, butwhat I'm realizing is that a lot
of people are blaming thisseason or saying that this is

(12:53):
the season that I need to sit.
This is the season that I needto and for some people it is,
but for the majority of thepeople it's.
God has already shared with youwhat it is that you need to do
and you have not moved your feetyet.
So you're sitting in a spacewhere you may feel like you're

(13:15):
losing time, that you feel likeyou're losing momentum, you feel
like you're losing hope.
But I need you to get honestwith yourself so that you can be
honest with God, so you don'thave to pretend that you're okay

(13:39):
in this season, so you can tellGod how you really feel,
because there's no healing inhiding.
I'll say that again, that thereis no healing in hiding.
And for some of you all, youare saying that it is peace.
When it's not peace, it's justthat you are hiding.

(14:01):
So I have totally got off of mynotes, but I feel this so
strong, not just for myself, butfor so many of you all who are
in this place.
You're saying what's next andyou're thinking that God is

(14:25):
saying not yet, but he's sayingI've given you the instructions,
I just need you to do your part, because when you go and do
your part, then God can go anddo his.

(14:47):
And, as you are being honestwith yourself first and then
being next being honest with God, even as you're still in this
season of OK, now, what is itthat I need to do?
I still need you to remainpresent in where you are.
See, I don't, I don't need youto sit, because for some of you

(15:12):
all, you've been spending yourwhole life waiting for the next.
So ask, ask yourself, whatexactly in my life needs my
attention right now?
What character, what habit, what mindset is God inviting you

(15:34):
to?
That needs to be refined, because there are still some
things that you can do, as youare getting clarity.
But you got to ask the questionand get real with yourself

(15:57):
yourself and let yourself knowyou're going to have to protect
the posture that you have putyourself in when you're saying
that this is not where I need tobe.
And so, even as you're stilltrying to figure it out, that
does not mean you stop showingup with what you are already
doing.
So I need you to stay open, Ineed you to stay faithful, I

(16:21):
need you to keep preparingBecause, yes, it is indeed
coming, as you're still figuringit out, as you're still
figuring it out, and thensurround yourself with some

(16:41):
truth tellers, because you'regoing to need to have some
people in your corner who aregoing to remind you of who you
are when you forget.
And so for some of you all, thiswaiting season, it may feel
like isolation, but it shouldnot be.
This should be your time toanchor.
So I'm just excited, y'all, because we have to get honest

(17:15):
with where we are in our seasons.
We have to get honest withourselves.
We have to get honest with Godbecause, for real, some of y'all
have been praying to God andhe's like if they would just ask
me the real questions.

(17:36):
Don't come to me with theseprayers that you have made up.
No, come to me.
What is it that you want me todo?
When you look at any of theindividuals in the Bible, they

(17:57):
didn't have this well thoughtout plan that they came to God
with about how they were goingto operate in their purpose.
They kind of just showed up anddid it and developed along the
way.
Showed up and did it anddeveloped along the way, but we

(18:22):
feel like we have to put on thisperfect presentation before God
in order for him to do what itis that he needs for us to do,
and that's just not the case.
Yes, it's going to hurt alittle bit.
Yes, there's going to be somepruning in this season.
Yes, there will be times whenyou have to be silent, but let

(18:43):
me just tell you that this isgoing to be your season for
massive action.
This is going to be your seasonto remain focused and steadfast
and unmovable in all of thethings that you know that you
need to be doing.
I'm not just preaching to youall today, I'm talking to myself
as well, because sometimeswe're looking for people to help

(19:10):
us to get to the next and wehave to move ourselves to the
next.
We're going to have toencourage ourselves in this
season.
There are going to be somepeople that come along along the
way, but encourage yourself, build up your strength, your

(19:52):
strength.
So this week, I want you to askyourself what is this appearance
of not?
What light are you at?
Is it a true red light?
Did you stop the progression?
Is the light really green?
And you have your foot on thegas I'm sorry, your foot on the
brake?
Is it just the yellow light?
Are you supposed to just kindof slow down a little bit and
observe, but still be moving inthe process?

(20:17):
And if it is indeed a true redlight and God has told you to
sit still, what is it that he'steaching you?
What is it that you need to knowso that, when that light turns
green again, you are ready to go?
And I need you to write it down, sit with it, let your heart

(20:38):
speak, and I need you to beginto speak over you.
For some of you all, you arepunishing yourself.
So I need you to let yourselfknow that you're not being
punished in this season.
You're being positioned, you'renot forgotten, you're being

(21:03):
prepared, you're not behind.
You're right on time for theright thing with the right heart
.
You're right on time for theright thing with the right heart
.
So if this episode gave you alittle breath, a little clarity,
a little hope, share it withsomeone else who is in this

(21:25):
waiting season, and rememberthat God doesn't forget what he
promises.
He just delivers it at theright time, and sometimes the
right version of you needs to bein place first.
So thanks for being here, thanks for being honest with you
and thanks for letting yourheart say hello again today.
