Marilisa Lawless (00:00):
Welcome to the
Hemp Del Sol podcast.
All health, no high.
Here's your host, Mary LisaLawless.
Okay, welcome, welcome, I amMary isa Lawless.
I am the host of this podcastfor Hemp Del Sol.
(00:21):
We've been having sometechnical difficulties and I've
had to switch to my telephone toactually record this because my
internet keeps going down.
Anyway, I wanted to talk todaya little bit about why I ended
up here in the CBD business.
So I have invited as my guestguest today my youngest child,
(00:43):
stone Lawless, and so welcome,hi.
Hi, I am glad you're here and,as people can see, you are a
different race than I am andthat, in and of itself, you
experience a lot of anxietiesWith me being in a bi or
(01:13):
multiracial home.
Stone Lawless (01:18):
Say it again, you
are breaking in and out again.
Marilisa Lawless (01:23):
Oh no, is this
still giving me a hard time?
It is, oh, okay, so we'll justdo the best we can.
Yes, tell me a story aboutbeing my child, the youngest
child in our home, being in acompletely white family, and how
(01:45):
it impacted your own anxiety.
Stone Lawless (01:58):
Did it really
Okay.
Marilisa Lawless (02:03):
Tell me what
your anxiety was connected to,
talk about your anxiety myanxiety stems from triggers and
(02:28):
being raised in a white family.
Stone Lawless (02:29):
triggers and
being raised in a white family
has never exactly been a triggerfor me.
Marilisa Lawless (02:33):
Oka
Stone Lawless (02:38):
Explain it.
The only thing that I can saythat confidently has actually
raised questions about me as aperson was the definite age gap
between me and my brother and mysister.
Marilisa Lawless (02:54):
Okay, describe
your siblings.
Stone Lawless (03:05):
Well, we have in
order from youngest to oldest.
We have Sherr and she's anamazing sister, but I'm just now
reconnecting with her becauseof that age gap that I talked
about.
I don't really talk to Braedenbecause he is a full 10 years
(03:29):
older than me, or seven, actually 12.
He's 12 years older than me andhe's in his own life stage in
life.
So I'm a lot closer than I amwith my step-siblings than I am
with my adoptive siblings.
That's never really brought upanxiety because, it's just the
(03:52):
way life is.
You choose your family.
You pick and choose who youwant to be around in life.
I can definitely still saynumbers is the definite problem.
I will cry and break down atany point.
Marilisa Lawless (04:08):
Oh, just math.
Stone Lawless (04:10):
Yes, just math.
It adds numbers to it.
It's just numbers andliterature numbers to it.
Marilisa Lawless (04:25):
It's just
numbers and literature.
Talk about a little bit aboutthe autism and and how that
impacted your ability tofunction, and because I know
that it made your anxiety alittle bit crazier.
And we tried pharmaceuticals,we tried all kinds of things.
I I tried every doctor, every,every alternative practitioner I
could find.
Stone Lawless (04:43):
Um, I can
definitely say that my autism
and pervasive developmentaldisorder has, uh, gotten worse.
It's gotten so much worse, somuch worse, to the point where I
(05:04):
avoid numbers completely.
In my normal life.
I have my partners that aredoing the financing in my
business, because I have thetendency to make the big
purchase and worry what's wherethe decimal is or the comma is
(05:24):
in the sentence later.
So nowadays I've just avoidedit all completely and if I get
very ecstatic or like into it, Ineed to take a hit of CBD, calm
myself down and then be likeall right, we need a powwow
(05:44):
because this is what I want.
How can I get it?
Marilisa Lawless (05:48):
okay, so you
mentioned taking a hit, so you
smoke CBD.
I don't sell CBD by smokingbecause I don't think it's good
for our lungs, but I know thatit's something that you do now.
Initially, when you, or when Istarted looking at CBD as an
industry, I was giving you whatwe call the tincture, the oil
(06:12):
that you put under your tongueand I know you still take that
sometimes or some of the gummiesthat I have here as a CBD
product.
Have they also been helpful foryou Because that's how I got
into this business was seeinghow it made a significant
difference.
Stone Lawless (06:31):
They were helpful
.
It's just like you said youdon't provide the smokable.
I like the smokable, so when Irealized that it was helping, I
switched to that, Because Idon't know what it is about
taking it out of the packages orputting it under the tongue.
(06:53):
It just doesn't give me thesame satisfaction, but it does
help me.
Marilisa Lawless (06:59):
Right and
you've had just an is just an
interesting experience.
You've had a desire since youwere a teenager to have the idea
of smoke, so it makes sensethat you segued into cbd flour
and using that as a smokableproduct, while still not giving
you a high, but giving youclarity, giving you the ability
(07:22):
to think and to be calmer aboutthe decisions that you make.
So and what I have here in thestore are that the I have
everything else I don't do.
I don't have the vapes oranything else you can smoke, so
you get that on your own.
But back in 2018, when youranxiety was an all time high and
you came to me after five daysand said, mom, this is really
(07:44):
helping me.
That was when I went full steamahead with creating a business,
even though there's still a lotof controversy and the research
still isn't there.
What we have is the anecdotalstories you know of everybody,
until the research catches upwith it.
Stone Lawless (08:04):
Um, that we're
making segue into a lot better
research being available, because a lot of stoners or a
lot of cbd-ers are realizingthat we could take what we learn
in science class and use it toour advantage.
Marilisa Lawless (08:21):
Let's do that,
absolutely, absolutely, so it
has your anxiety decreasedsignificantly?
You know how you seem to haveresources.
Like you have your partnersthat help you with figuring out
money, because that's a conceptthat's still challenging.
So, anything that has to dowith numbers, you have a support
(08:42):
team in place to help you.
Stone Lawless (08:45):
Yes, I definitely
say that over the years of um
Me just blindly freaking out andbeing backed into a corner.
It's helped by like.
Instead of waiting until I'mbacked into a corner to lash out
(09:06):
and ask for help, it's allright.
I'm getting backed into acorner.
Now I need the tag team, myother people, my surrounding
followers in and we need tofucking beat this guy's ass like
right now.
You know, like.
I don't allow myself to bebacked into a corner.
Okay, okay.
Marilisa Lawless (09:29):
And I think
that that's just a level of
maturity that you've gained overthe years.
I mean, you're 25, correct, Ican, I can add I know, I know
that it's really challenging, and me as a parent has been a
challenge as well, and I'mcertain that the CBD has helped
you in dealing with me, becauseI create some of your anxiety as
(09:54):
a parent.
Stone Lawless (09:56):
Well, we're
working on it.
I can definitely say that it'snice having you in my corner.
Marilisa Lawless (10:03):
And I wouldn't
have it any other way.
You're definitely my child andI.
Between you and the dog, cbdhas been an amazing experience
and in helping to create for myfamily a drug-free way to heal
(10:24):
and to move forward, becauseyou're not without your own
traumas as well, and it seems tohave really helped you to be
more centered, more balanced andto actually be able to have a
life you have.
Your goal in life, I remember, was to have friends and it seems
like you've been able tomaintain really awesome
long-term friendships now and Isee the CBD having been an
(10:49):
integral part of being helpfulfor you.
Does that seem to be?
Does that fit for you, or am Ijust putting words in your mouth
?
Stone Lawless (10:59):
That fits for me,
especially with the amount of
candy that I've gotten.
For those of you that are veryinterested, go to her office.
Marilisa Lawless (11:13):
You as an
influencer, get all kinds of
things sent to you for free.
Stone Lawless (11:18):
Go to her office.
You, as an influencer, get allkinds of things sent to you for
free.
Go to her office.
Marilisa Lawless (11:21):
Oh, you took
all that jewelry from my office.
You're too funny.
So, yes, in my store I havecrystals, I have jewelry, I have
all kinds of things in additionto the full line of CBD
products.
I have all kinds of things inaddition to the full line of CBD
products.
So, yes, always better to comeinto this brick and mortar that
I have.
Stone Lawless (11:43):
I've been making
so many friends.
I just being like oh my God,you have candy.
And I'm like yes, I do, you canbuy them for seven dollars.
So you're calling jewelry candy.
Well, that's what it is in therave, rave fandom, like a lot of
(12:04):
um, like.
Events that I go to are like ofthe rave variety.
So you get like the people thatwear candy, which is like the
bracelets that they makethemselves okay and it's like a
little greeting between festivalgoers and it's like once you
meet somebody that you canreally consider like this is
(12:26):
your rave fam, then you make alike non-spoken fact of like yo,
you're cool enough, I want togive you some candy, and vice
versa.
Marilisa Lawless (12:36):
Oh, that's
pretty cool.
See, in your generation we'recool enough.
I want to give you some candy, and vice versa.
Oh, that's pretty cool.
See, I'm in your generation.
We're definitely a generationapart, so some of the lingo I
don't have, but I'm glad for youto share that.
And I didn't know, you stole ortook so many of my bracelets.
I wanted one for every outfit.
Stone Lawless (12:53):
I wanted one for
every outfit.
Marilisa Lawless (12:56):
Oh, I see that
.
I see that.
So, yes, and, and you do havequite a presence online.
So I I appreciate you takingthe time to come out and talk to
me, your mother, and to reallybe able to start to process some
of this.
You know you have been mybiggest fan for keeping the CBD
company going, despite all ofthe negative that I get
(13:20):
sometimes from administrativecompanies and government, and
you know pressure around thatabout what I'm allowed to say,
not allowed to say.
I appreciate you being willingto continue that journey, to
keep talking about CBD and howhelpful it is for you and the
people that you know and love.
(13:41):
You know you're not the onlyperson ou know that that smokes
CBD or that takes CBD in someform or fashion.
And you're right, it does comein every.
It comes in every form.
It comes in a liquid, it comesin a candy, it comes in a in a
flower, whether you can smoke it, um, so I appreciate that as
well I think the one thing thatdefinitely needs to be out, put
(14:03):
out there and saying um is becareful of where you get your
cbd.
Stone Lawless (14:12):
Like, absolutely,
when it comes to smokable flor,
be careful of where you getyour cbd do not buy it in a gas
station.
Marilisa Lawless (14:21):
You want to
make sure that wherever you
purchase your cbd products, theyhave the certificates of
analysis that's, the lab testingposted on their website or that
they have access to it at anypoint.
So so definitely appreciate, yeah, appreciate where you
purchase things from yes, veryimportant.
And just don't take it fromwhoever you you know, people you
(14:45):
just randomly meet, you knowit's just like really know where
you get whatever it is you'retaking from.
So I think we will stop today.
I just want to say thank youvery much for being willing to
take out time from your scheduleto be able to talk to me and
talk to this community about CBD.
(15:05):
It's a really important topicand it has a lot of health
benefits that everybody talksabout, and we're just waiting
for the FDA to come in with someactual proof and the long-term
studies.
So thank you very much, Iappreciate it, I love you, I
love you too.
Stone Lawless (15:26):
Bye, bye, bye.
