Have you ever walked into a space and felt something was just "off"? That murky, uncomfortable energy that seems to linger in corners of your home? You're not alone—and there are simple, practical solutions to transform your living space into a sanctuary of calm and positive energy.

In this illuminating conversation, we dive deep into the ancient wisdom and modern applications of energy clearing for your home. From the strategic placement of crystals to the physiological benefits of CBD, we explore a comprehensive approach to creating environments that support your wellbeing on multiple levels.

Discover why quartz has been used across cultures for thousands of years—even found at the corners of Egyptian pyramids—and how different crystals serve unique purposes in your space. Learn about black tourmaline's ability to block negative energy (perfect for entryways!), selenite's capacity to absorb negativity, and the fascinating properties of "super crystal" Moldavite that opens all energy centers simultaneously.

The science behind these practices isn't mere superstition. As Jeremy notes, "This isn't woo-woo magic—it's quantum energy," referencing centuries of documentation across various traditions. Whether you prefer smoke-free clearing methods or traditional smudging techniques like sage or Palo Santo, we cover diverse approaches suitable for different preferences and sensitivities.

Perhaps most compelling is how external energy work complements internal wellbeing. CBD helps address physiological foundations like inflammation and anxiety, creating optimal conditions for energetic practices to work effectively. And don't underestimate the power of simply decluttering your space—often the most accessible first step toward energetic transformation.

Whether you're a skeptic or a seasoned practitioner, these practical approaches offer tangible benefits without requiring belief in metaphysical concepts. As one visitor to Marilisa's new space confessed, "I don't get it, but it feels so calming that I just had to stop and take a deep breath." Because ultimately, the proof is in how these practices make you feel—more centered, peaceful, and at home in your own space.

What's one simple change you could make today to create a more positive environment in your home? Listen now and discover how to transform your space from the inside out.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Hemp Del Soul podcast.
All health, no high.
Here's your host, Maril isaLawless.

Jeremy Wolf (00:15):
Have you ever felt a little bit uncomfortable in
your home?
Maybe just something feels off,and there's a weird murky
energy lurking about.
Well, you're not alone.
Today, we're going to talkabout some simple things that
you can do at home to reallycreate a calming, positive,

(00:38):
energetic environment in yourhouse.
Welcome everyone to the Hempdel Soul Podcast.
I am your co-host, Jeremy Wolf,as always joined by the queen,
Marilisa Lawless.
Marilisa, always a pleasure, mydear.

Marilisa Lawless (00:54):
Hello, hello.
I love that intro.

Jeremy Wolf (00:57):
Yes, yes, it's so funny because we recently did
the Microdose, the Mind podcast.
You had a chance to meet Brian.
I was up in Orlando and, obviously, in his shamanic path,
he's big into this stuff, right, energy clearing and all this
type of stuff, and he sent mehome with, like, a care package
with some sage, a smudge kit,all this stuff, and I'm really

(01:18):
trying to focus on clearing myhouse out.
The stars are aligning now andnow that we have you, another
expert in this space, here, Ithought we would talk a little
bit about practical applications, things that you know, simple
things that you can do at hometo really set up an environment,
a calm environment, for successin your life.
So, with that being said, Iknow one of the things that you

(01:40):
focus on is crystals, and wetalked about this before, and I
think this is probably theeasiest access point for people,
right?
So, for someone brand new tocrystals, what's a good place to
start?
What are some crystals that canbe brought into the home that
are best used for creating acalm and peaceful environment?

Marilisa Lawless (01:58):
First off, the one that most people know of,
is quartz.
It's abundant, you can find itin the Carolinas, you can find
it all over the United States.
Kids love to go digging rocksand they're, you know.
.
.
and a lot of times what theyfind is quartz.
Quartz has been used forthousands of years.

(02:19):
Every religious community andhistorically has used quartz in
one way or another.
It's considered a crystal.
That's like an overall clear.
It helps with everything.

Jeremy Wolf (02:35):
So it probably emits like a light frequency,
I'd imagine.

Marilisa Lawless (02:38):
Yeah, absolutely.
And they actually found bigtablets of quartz on the corners
of all of the pyramids in egyptand they use it because quartz
is also a really good electricalconductor.
So quartz is the most common, the most popular, the one that

(02:59):
most people know about.
From that, different quartzhave colors and they're used for
different things in differentareas.
Probably the one that, afterquartz, is most well known is
amethyst.
Amethyst is a purple, a purplerat exactly like the one that

(03:22):
you're wearing, courtesy.

Jeremy Wolf (03:23):
Courtesy of Crystals Del Sol.

Marilisa Lawless (03:26):
And there's some right behind me too.
I think that one right there.
You can't really tell becausethe lighting is a little wonky
in our new place.
This is our temporary locationin my garage, but I think I've
done a pretty good job ofsetting it up.
We've got things rocking androlling.
We've started our classes again.

(03:46):
All that sidebar.

Jeremy Wolf (03:49):
Well it looks beautiful.
So, speaking of the fact thatyou just transferred because I
know we talked about this on aprevious episode with this you
had to move your office of 35years to your house and
obviously set up there.
Was there anything that you didin your own home before you
introduced the office into thehome?

(04:10):
Was there a clearing that youdid Like?
What did you do to set up there?

Marilisa Lawless (04:14):
Well, two things.
One is I have selenite andtourmaline.
So tourmaline can be readilyfound in California.
It's a black, something like aflaky stone but and selenite is
also found all over the us.
They're found in othercountries as well.
But there are two crystals.
Oh yes, I have that whole topshelf there.

(04:39):
For those of you on video cansee is black tourmaline and that
lamp right there is selenite sothe black tourmaline is the one
that exploded that we talkedabout.

Jeremy Wolf (04:52):
It's the one that sucks up all the negative things
right.
So it's like the one you use tokind of trap all the negative
energy, what it does is itblocks negative energy.

Marilisa Lawless (05:01):
but when it's full, when it has blocked enough
, it needs to go back to theearth to regenerate.
Yes, so my grandkids, when theystart digging in my garden,
they're going to be like wow, look at what I found, because
I've got so many broken crystalsthrown into the garden.

Jeremy Wolf (05:20):
So now, with these crystals, is this something I've
heard of, like chargingcrystals before.
So, like I know, you can getthem and you could put them out
on a ledge, but is thereanything you should be doing
with them on a daily basis?
Should you be holding them, moving them around, shaking them
up, even putting them in thesunlight, like this is more of.
It's not just necessarily setit and forget it.

(05:40):
Right, it's an interactive typething.

Marilisa Lawless (05:43):
Sometimes.
So the tourmaline is one thatyou do.
You recharge it, and therecharging is you put it in, you
put it out in the full moon.
The full moon has an energyattached to it.
Right now we just passed thenew moon, so in two weeks, if
you want to clean your crystalsor clear them energetically, put
them in your windowsill or putthem outside.

(06:05):
Selenite is one that absorbsnegative energy.
Tourmaline blocks negativeenergy.
It's actually something I tellpeople to do in their car.
Put a piece of tourmalineunderneath the driver's seat
because it blocks the.
It blocks the negative energy, and put a piece of selenite
under the passenger seat becauseit absorbs negative energy.
So little baggings under eachseat, um, but the selenite

(06:31):
clears.
All it does is absorb thenegative energy.
So, yes, in my home before Imoved everything here by my
front door, even though clientsaren't coming through my front
door, I have a side entrance.
So even though they aren'tcoming through my front door, I
have a side entrance.
So even though they're notcoming through the front door, I
have a big piece of tourmalineby my front door.
I have a big piece of quartz onmy front door rose quartz,

(06:55):
quartz, amethyst, milky quartzand selenite all by my front
door.
I love it.
What most people need by theirfront door is tourmaline.
And what it does is that ithelps to clear the energy as
people are coming in the frontdoor.
The whole concept is is that itblocks any of the negativity

(07:19):
from coming in?
Yes, so what I've noticed in myhome, other than how neglected
it's been because I'm workingall- the time and I've been in
my office.
So the thing that I've noticedis that I I'll give you an

(07:40):
example this morning I have aclient who came in for therapy
and this particular person isvery traditionally trained and
doesn't really get energy andall of that and for the very
first time walked in here, stopped and took a deep breath
and said I really don'tunderstand this and I don't

(08:04):
really get this.
But I realized that the minuteI walked into your door it feels
so calming that I just had tostop and take a deep breath.
And that was huge because I'veknown this person over 10 years.
And for that person to walk inand say I don't get it, but it

(08:28):
feels good in here, it was justperfect, it checks out, it
sounds about right.

Jeremy Wolf (08:35):
This is like that's emblematic of my spiritual
journey because, as you know,I've always been so incredibly
skeptical of all these types ofthings, and the more I open up
to it and the older I get andthe more experiences I have with
my antenna on fine tune alert, the more I'm coming to believe

(08:55):
that there is more to it thanthan what we, what we currently
know in terms of science andenergy stuff, like we truly do
put out a signal and like thisidea of manifesting it's not.
It's not like woo, woo magic, where it's just like, if you sit
on your couch and you and youjust say to yourself all day
that everything's going to workout.
No, you still have to do, youstill have to be active, you
still have to, like, go aboutyour life and do things.

Marilisa Lawless (09:17):
Yeah, you still have to participate.

Jeremy Wolf (09:19):
You still have to play the game, but when you do
that and you're open to all thisstuff and you start believing
it, magical things start tohappen.
I know Joe Dispenza talks aboutthis a lot how these
synchronicities when you tune inand you start creating, you
start interacting with thequantum field and all the stuff
that sounds woo-woo, it's likemagically these things start
happening.
These deja vu moments, thesesynchronicities, these positive

(09:41):
things Like wow, that's strangethat it just happened right now.
And the more of it you do, themore you experience it.
It feels like woo-woo magic,but it's real.
I don't think it is.
I think it's real.
It's quantum energy.

Marilisa Lawless (09:53):
This is pulling ourselves into the
quantum field, and they've knownabout it for a very.
I've read books that wereprinted in the 1800s that were
talking about this.
You.
It was printed in the 1800sthat we're talking about this.
You know Helena Blavatsky.

Jeremy Wolf (10:08):
She wrote a book in the late 1800s.

Marilisa Lawless (10:10):
What's he?
What?
Yeah, I read all four volumesof her thing and each volume was
like 800 pages.
Jeez, it was a lot and justreally fascinating.
These are things that have beentalked about for millennia, and

(10:32):
it's not just this culturewhere we're waking up to it, but
all cultures have something.
So, when you're thinking aboutclearing energy, I prefer things
that are non-smokable.
And let me clarify things thatdon't produce smoke, not things
that smoke.

Jeremy Wolf (10:50):
You don't like the smudging, the burning sage.

Marilisa Lawless (10:52):
Why don't you like?

Jeremy Wolf (10:53):
that Because Brian's a big advocate of that I
do.

Marilisa Lawless (10:56):
No, I actually have sage to my house.
My son used Palo Santo when hehad to clear his dad's house and
because it was so intense, hecan't tolerate the smell of it
any longer.
So every culture has somethingdifferent.
So palo santo is a SouthAmerican energy clearer, and

(11:16):
North American Energy clearersage.
Copal is Mexican energyclearing.
Nagchampa is a Hindu energyclearer.
Every culture has something.
Most of them are ones that youlight on fire and use to clear a
space, and I've done it.

(11:38):
I've done all of them in myspaces over the years.
What I've chosen to do here Isto just have crystals for my
home, because I don't like, mylungs don't tolerate Smoke of
any kind.
W ell, that's why I don't smoke.
My lungs don't tolerate it.

Jeremy Wolf (11:58):
Well, Among other reasons.

Marilisa Lawless (12:00):
Yeah, among other reasons, that's the only
reason the crystals work for me.
They feel good in my hand whenI'm holding something and I'm
trying to help somebody decidewhat crystal is best for them, I
have them hold two differentcrystals in their hands and tell
them to close their eyes, takea few deep breaths and just

(12:21):
listen, and 99% of the peoplethat do that get a stronger feel
one way or the other.

Jeremy Wolf (12:32):
Yeah.

Marilisa Lawless (12:33):
People will say this is weird.
I'm like just do it, just gowith it.
One of the crystals that's mostinteresting is Moldavite.

Jeremy Wolf (12:44):
The.

Marilisa Lawless (12:44):
Moldavite is one of those crystals that is
considered a super crystal andit is supposedly what it does
and there's been some scientificstudies done with it that it
opens all seven chakras at thesame time, that it opens all the
energy systems in your body andwe have more than seven chakras

(13:05):
, we have hundreds of chakras.
It opens everything at the sametime that it opens all the
energy systems in your body, andwe have more than seven chakras
, we have hundreds of chakras.
It opens everything at the sametime.
So You'll see, like TikTokvideos or you know reels, things
like that that say don't everget boldified, it will destroy
your life, it will be it willcreate these horrors Open the

(13:26):
gates of all, because what itdoes is open up the gates of all
the energy in your body.
So before I actually sell it toanyone, I absolutely, 100% of
the time, make them hold it.

Jeremy Wolf (13:38):
You got to take the moldavite test, absolutely.

Marilisa Lawless (13:40):
And I've had like grown bodybuilder men like,
yeah, right, and they hold it.
They're like, yeah, right, andthey hold it.
They're like, oh, what'shappening?
And if they have no reaction orjust like a positive reaction,
it's like it's an okay stone forthem to have.

(14:01):
I had sold somebody a ring thathas Moldavite in it, again did
the same procedure that I dowith everybody.
The next day the woman calls meand she says do you do returns?
And I had her explain to me whyand what.
You know, if something broke, that's one thing.
But she's like I can't wear thering, I put it on and it just

(14:24):
makes me dizzy and nauseous.
I can't wear the ring, I put iton and it just makes me dizzy
and nauseous.
And I said, well, that's why Ihave you hold it before you buy
it, because that could be areaction that you have.
And so we talked about it andshe never came in to do anything
about it.
People think it's a joke, butit's not.

(14:45):
It actually happens and I don'ttell people what to expect.
I just let people tell me whatthey experience.
I don't want to influence whatit is that goes on in their own
body.
So, yes, there are somecrystals that are very powerful
crystals.
There's some that are used forclearing energy.
The other thing that I have allaround my house besides

(15:07):
selenite and it is shungite, andshungite is a carbon-based rock
and it's used in some waterpurification systems.
It's a more expensive stone, sosome people use tourmaline for
the energy clearing and that.
But what I have on mywindowsills and I have a whole
bunch in the other room where Ido my therapy is I have these

(15:31):
big raw rocks on the windowsills.
So people see these big blackrocks on my windowsills.
They probably think I'm alittle crazy.
My next door neighbor said yeah, I told everybody.
I live next door to a farmer, awoo-woo farmer.
So, at the end of the day, themost important piece about any

(15:56):
of this is that it does no harm.
Yes, it does no harm.
And even all of the energyhealers that I have here I vet
all of them.
I've been trained in most ofthe modalities and the energy
healers are starting to come tothis space as well and they're
walking in the door and they'relike oh, it feels good.

(16:19):
It feels good and it does, feels really comfortable in here
, and the people that have comehere said that it feels good and
it does.
It feels really comfortable inhere, and the people that have
come here said that it feelsbetter than the original place
oh, that's great so that's areally awesome affirmation for
me that I've done.
You know that my sister and Idid a really good job of setting
this up, and then some of myenergy people one that I did the

(16:42):
podcast with a few months injanuary I think, with Andy.
She came in and she helped mearrange all the crystals,
because she's super superconnected energetically.

Jeremy Wolf (16:55):
Yeah, I need to come by and check out the new
space, for sure.
And the environment is only asmall part of the equation and
it helps be the large part ofthe equation, which is what's
internal right, our mindsetright, the habits, the rituals
we create.
So even if, like you said, itdoes no harm, even if it was all
woo which I don't think it isbut even if I'm speaking out

(17:15):
there to people that maybe feelthat way, even if that was the
case, if for you, if it makesyou feel better, right, going
through these rituals and goingthrough these practices, well,
but guess what?
It is working because it'sactually having an effect
internally on how you projectyourself and how you feel, and
that's just going to steamrollin your interactions and grow.

(17:36):
So the mindset is the key witheverything, and I know another
big part of what you do throughHemp del Soul is CBD, which I
know a lot of people are turningto to deal with stress and
anxiety, kind of this internalstuff that goes on.
How do you see CBD ascomplementing the work that

(18:00):
you're doing with crystals andhow can people incorporate that
into the space at home and intotheir practices to kind of
enhance their environment andtheir peace of mind while at
home.

Marilisa Lawless (18:11):
The CBD when you are feeling so stressed that
you can't function.
The crystals take a really longtime in general to create that
sense of tranquility and ittakes a level of commitment.
The CBD helps it activate morequickly.
It activates quickly theinternal systems because we have

(18:34):
an endocannabinoid system inour brain.
These are some of ourneurotransmitters.
So the anxiety is triggeredbecause of inflammation, because
of stories that we tellourselves, things that we're
stuck in.
Depression comes from that aswell and the.
There's enough studies with thecbd to know that it helps to

(18:57):
elevate mood without causing apsychoactive effect.
So it increases serotonin.
There's some studies thatindicate that it increases
serotonin, which is whatantidepressants do.
When you use CBD, I try tofigure out what is the most
pressing issue for most peopletoday.

(19:18):
It's sleep and I think we didan episode on sleep CBD.
I have five or six differentproducts that are just for sleep
.
So let's get the sleep undercontrol.
If your life, if you physically, biologically, start to feel
like things are calming down, you're moving in the right

(19:42):
direction.
Then you add the crystals, youadd different things.
The important piece is gettingyourself to a place where,
physiologically, you feel okayso you can start to address some
of the energetic pieces.
So the CBD, it's not a drug,it's a supplement.

(20:06):
It's not, you know, in any ofthe research I've done.
It's not contraindicated forany medications.
It's actually helped multiplepeople I know get off of
medications and it's all beenprocessed through their doctor.
The doctor doesn't understandwhy their blood pressure is good
, doesn't understand why youknow why they can come off of
this.
People have gotten off of painmedications because they've

(20:28):
taken care of the inflammationthat's creating the pain yeah so
you want to be able to bephysiologically in a healthy
enough place that the crystalsare actually beneficial.
The CBD helps with so manydifferent things, but overall
anxiety, inflammation those arethe two biggies.

(20:49):
Handling those two particularpieces helps to make other
things clearer so that you canthink about it.
Oh, this is what's going onwith me.
Because I've taken care of theinflammation, my pain is down
and I can think better.
And you know what I think.
I want to work on my spiritualside.
So let me get a piece ofamethyst that I can put by my

(21:11):
bedside.
Let me do something withdifferent chakra energy centers,
because physiologically, I'mstarting to feel like normal or
human.
My anxiety is down, I canactually take a breath.
It starts to.
It's more of a crisis piece.

(21:34):
Absolutely Meditation.
There's so many things that youcan do prior to pharmaceuticals
or, if you choose, to let go ofsome of your pharmaceuticals.

Jeremy Wolf (21:46):
Yeah.

Marilisa Lawless (21:47):
Clearing your space Clutter.
We know that clutter reallyincreases the clutter.

Jeremy Wolf (21:54):
Yeah, it's like magic.
My perfect example of clutterright, my garage.
We clean it out and six monthslater it's just.
You know how it goes, right, you take something out and
you're in a rush.
You just throw it here and thenyou do it again.
You throw it here and beforeyou know it, you can't reach the
shelf anymore.
So you're putting stuff on topof the and then you get to the
point where you can't even movein the garage.
I finally got in there with mydaughter this weekend and we

(22:17):
pulled everything out, weorganized it and, man, when now,
when I walk in there, I justfeel better.
So talk about things you can doto to create a calm environment
in your house.
Just just keep it clean, right.
Just clean up shit laying allover the place.
Clean it up, start there.

Marilisa Lawless (22:33):
Absolutely, and donate stuff If you've got
stuff that you're not using, other countries that are really
under that.
There really are third worldcountries.
I send a lot of my stuff tohaiti, absolutely they have
nothing.
Yeah, you know so I send quitea bit I.
I've become a collection siteand when that particular corner

(22:58):
gets full I call my friend and Isay okay, I have another load
for you.

Jeremy Wolf (23:02):
Let's go, yeah, give it to somebody less
fortunate, somebody who needs it.
It's so funny talking aboutcleaning out.
I know Brian's on this shamanpath and one of the first things
in his training was like cleanyour closet.
Like start there, get rid ofall the stuff out of your closet
, and the closet is like ametaphor for the entire picture,
for your life.
It's like go there, get rid ofanything you don't use anymore,

(23:23):
give it away and then startfresh from there and use that as
a way to kind of expand outward.

Marilisa Lawless (23:28):
So yeah, when I when I pulled everything from
the office, when we startedpulling things here into my home
, I was like, oh my oh my, myliving room was full and it was
like and then I've got closetsthat are full.
I had one closet that was full, like it was a walking closet,

(23:50):
but it was full, and so I tookapart each place and took care
of one space at a time yeah andgave away a lot of stuff, found
spaces for things.
I have good closet space andgood storage space here, so
that's always been reallyhelpful with this particular my

(24:12):
home putting things in the atticthat I'm not going to need for
a year, putting things in closeton upper shelves that I'm not
going to need.
They're one of my rooms, mydining room, the formal dining
room It'd be what I call theJenga/tetrus room and my green
screen for my podcast is thecurtain blocking that room and

(24:37):
what it has in it is all thefurniture that we.
(That was still perfectly goodfurniture).
There's nothing, and it wasstuff that I will use for our
center when we finally get ourmetaphysical center, which is
the goal, and so it's that onespace is a storage room, but

(24:57):
everything is like it'sinteresting and I have two fish
tanks in there, so I have to goin it every day to feed my fish,
clean the tanks and do that, but it's the only space that is
still or is filled with stuff.

Jeremy Wolf (25:19):
Well, I am going to come by soon for the tour.
I can't wait to see the newspace.

Marilisa Lawless (25:22):
I'm glad you're coming.

Jeremy Wolf (25:23):
Everything looks great so far.
I love the backdrop there.
It looks like you've got somegood stuff going on there, yeah.

Marilisa Lawless (25:31):
No, and this little thing right here?
You can't really see the top ofit.
Let me see.

Jeremy Wolf (25:37):
Where are we looking?
The butterfly Right there mybutterfly.
Beautiful.

Marilisa Lawless (25:40):
I made that when I was 14 years old.

Jeremy Wolf (25:44):
Look at that.

Marilisa Lawless (25:45):
I am 63 years old 63 years young.
And that has traveled with meeverywhere.
That was long before I knewwhat the Transformation Project
was going to be.
It was also long before therewere patterns.
So I drew that from a butterflyand then went and bought all
the stuff and did that andthat's what I did as a teenager

(26:06):
and I still have it.
I have the date on it 1976.
It's been fun.

Jeremy Wolf (26:10):
you did it in 1976.

Marilisa Lawless (26:13):
Yeah.

Jeremy Wolf (26:13):
Good stuff.

Marilisa Lawless (26:15):
Yeah, so it's it's.
It's interesting the the thingsthat were coming.
It's like being able to moveinto this space.
It was really needed.

Jeremy Wolf (26:25):
Everyone that walks in here says it feels so
different and so much betterthan where I was, remember we
talked about that right when youwere going through it the
resistance, the anxiety, thestress with all change.
And we talked about that rightwhen you were going through it
