Speaker 1 (00:00):
learning all these
wonderful things with my child
here with me.
So anyway, hi, I'm Mary LisaLawless.
I am Stone Lawless, yes, and wehave decided that we're gonna
start this conversation todayand we're gonna just sort of
figure this out.
We are sitting in, sitting inmy store and trying to figure
(00:22):
out what it is to be a mother ofan adult daughter, who has been
quite challenging through mylife.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
I don't think I've
been challenging.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
No.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Oh, okay, the color
in your hair.
You obviously have been amazing.
I've been amazing Rainbows andsunshines, right and unicorns.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
So let's start this
off.
Tell me what is like yourfavorite memory of your
childhood in our family.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Hmm, I have to say, a
core memory would be when we
stopped in the middle of Nevadaon the road and just stared at
the stars.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Hmm, when we were
coming back from the Grand
Canyon.
Yes, yeah, yeah, like, becauseit was pitch pitch blackout
couldn't see anything.
Yeah, yeah, all right, tell mewhat?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
you loved about it.
Definitely not one for blowingup the car.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Yeah, some of them no
.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
tell me what is the
good part about the stuff you
remember, the family mom.
I can definitely say that thelate extension of our family
brought me a sense of happiness.
Very cool I don't know, I didnot show it up often, but it's
(01:51):
definitely still there.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Well, and that's why
I wanted to start this
conversation with you, becausewe've got so much that we've
been through together and havecome through and really healed
and I think that we havesomething all for the world.
Yeah, you know, so there's beena lot of impatience, a lot of
acceptance, a lot of differentthings that have happened, and
we've really come through to theother side.
Well everyone ask me anything.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yes, how do you think
I am now versus when I was 18
and 17.
I know there is a very distinctdifference.
Yeah, I'm not talking about thefight and arguing, I mean as a
woman.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Well, as a woman,
I've watched you really come
into your own.
You know, just being able tomake decisions for yourself, try
to figure out what safe lookslike.
That was always a challenge, you know.
So, even at 17 and 18 it wasreally a struggle because I was
so afraid and that fear kept mefrom really making some easy
(03:00):
decisions.
It was just, everything was astruggle.
And today you, as a woman, Imean I'm absolutely amazed to
see where you have come, whatyou do, how you live your life,
how certain you are about thelife that you're living.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
I can definitely say
getting into product photography
and brand ambassadoring.
While I could say, like lastyear, I couldn't have done
anything except for just gettingcollaborations, I do see in the
future me making this an actualbusiness, reaching out,
networking and connecting.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Like you, yeah, yeah,
I think we're both reinventing
ourselves as we go along, andit's just been a journey, you
know.
So I've been wanting to do apodcast with you or to do this
kind of conversation, dialoguewith you for I don't know, since
COVID.
I bought all this stuff to doit back then, and then we just
never got around to doing it.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
So I'm really
grateful to start Little history
to us.
By the way, you kicked me outduring COVID because I was in my
wildlife partying mode and Inever came back.
Yeah, and sometimes parentshave to do that.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
You know, sometimes
we do have to put them out and
let them know what it really is,what being an adult really
looks like.
Because you know, teenagersknow everything and just having
that experience of watching youcouch surf yeah, watching you go
from place to place and meetingpeople and doing all that, I
(04:34):
mean you always knew that youcould reach out to me if there
was a crisis, and you did.
But there was things that youjust didn't understand and
couldn't get.
That piece about being safe inour home and what the law said
you can't leave, you gotta stayhome.
You were like, oh, I'm goinghere, you know so.
I mean, there was a lot ofdifferent things that happened
(04:56):
and we have certainly comethrough to the other side.
Yes, you know so, but this willbe our episode.
One to the pilot episode Getready for a long flight.
Yeah, so anyway, we willcontinue this conversation,
because that's all this is istruly a conversation in health
(05:18):
and well-being and one day at atime we are alive and well and
moving forward.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
I can definitely say
that, if you need, if you think
you're alone in your struggle, you're not.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Yeah, sometimes you
just got to know that somebody's
got your back Right, yep.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
All right, love you.
The lawless is signing off Bye.
