We have a potentially Life-Saving show for you on episode 173 of The Hidden Workforce.
Welcome Retired Police Lt. Stan Campbell with IDD Safe, along with Angela Duckett and James Helm with Dale Rogers Training Center (DRTC).
Important: Everyone who lives with or has a child or loved one who lives with an IDD, Autism, or any other type of disability needs to listen to this show! As well as police officers and departments.
IDD Safe and DRTC have created an important partnership to develop this crucial, potentially life-saving training and courses educating people who live with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Autism, and more on how to stay safe in a police encounter.
There is also training within these courses to provide an outline for Police Departments to take this content and make the training their own for what fits their officers, department, and their community’s procedures and needs.
Whether a police encounter occurs while being pulled over, on the street, during a home visit, traffic stop, or anywhere- it’s important to know the different sides and perspectives of each party involved so that both the officer and person living with a disability can make it home safe after an encounter.
Tune in. Share. And if you miss this episode on the radio- you can hear it on all major podcast streams.

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
