Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome to the Highly Effective man podcast, hosted
by former Navy SEAL turned lifeand fitness coach.
I'm your host, jp Bolwan.
This podcast is your resourcefor unlocking the healthiest,
most productive and highlyeffective man within you.
Let's go.
What's up, gentlemen?

(00:31):
Welcome back to the HighlyEffective man podcast, the show
where busy men come to reclaimtheir strength, their energy and
their leadership in life.
I'm your host, jp Wolwan,13-year Navy SEAL, life and
fitness coach, firefighter, andtoday, being on the 4th of July,
I want to talk to you guysabout freedom, and we're not

(00:52):
just talking about the fireworkskind, not the one day a year
kind.
I'm talking about the kindthat's earned daily through
discipline, sacrifice and howyou choose to live your life as
a man.
Now, yesterday I had theprivilege of, you know, cruising
.
I'm here in San Diego, I got tocruise through Coronado on my

(01:14):
way to the C4 Foundation eventat the Hotel Del, and if you're
not familiar with what the C4Foundation does, what the C4
Foundation does is that theyspecialize, or their mission is
to help reduce stress and buildfortitude in SEAL families by
taking them out to the ranch, strengthening their connections,

(01:35):
their mindset and their abilityto keep going when life gets
tough, right, because being inthe teams and it's hard on the
families and that mission hitshome for me, right, the event
was awesome.
It was a big fundraiser.
There's flags everywhere allthroughout Coronado, you know,
american flags and familiesriding bikes, kids laughing,

(01:58):
live music and you know, honestly, it was kind of like a
mini SEAL reunion.
You know, I saw a lot of guysthat were friends back in the
day or still friends and hadn'tseen them in a long time, and
also some newer guys that Irecently connected with, and but
these are all guys that havehave walked the path and carried

(02:18):
the burden and kept pushing.
You know, and I neverpersonally knew Charles Keating,
but one of my good friends, hedid know him and you know, over
the last 30 years I've lost waytoo many friends and brothers to
combat others to suicide, andas I stood there just kind of

(02:40):
taking it all in and, you know, enjoying myself, I asked, you
know, I couldn't help but think, but, like, have I done enough
to honor them?
Right, because these guys gaveeverything, they gave their life
, right, and so at the same timeI feel like I've got to give

(03:01):
everything.
We all do.
So freedom doesn't come cheapand it damn sure isn't
maintained by scrolling onInstagram or skipping workouts.
Think about this, right, ourcountry was based on the
founding fathers.
They weren't just trying tostart a business.
They weren't chasing six packabs, right.

(03:23):
They were building an entirecountry based on this crazy idea
.
Freedom, and that kind of legacydoesn't come through average
effort.
It comes through a big vision.
It comes through grit, leadership and sacrifice.
And the question you got to askyourself is what are you doing

(03:48):
to earn your freedom?
Because you got to earn itevery day.
You want to honor the men whodied for this country.
You want to honor the teammatesthat we've lost, the fathers
who have sacrificed, thebrothers who have carried the
burden.
So stop wasting your freedom.

(04:10):
Earn it every damn day, okay, train your body like it matters.
Lead your family like it'swartime.
Dominate your work like yourname is on the line.
Eliminate the excuses, cut outthe distractions and sharpen

(04:30):
your discipline, because freedomisn't about doing whatever you
feel like.
It's about having the strengthto do what's right, even when
it's hard.
Now I left Coronado, you know, with a full heart, right, I got
to see my friends and some otherguys and it was awesome, but

(04:54):
the truth is.
We are the legacy now right,we're the ones that are carrying
the baton right.
It's been passed and it's up tous not to just enjoy this
freedom, but to live in a waythat multiplies it for our kids,
our kids' kids, you know, andgenerations to come.

(05:15):
So I'll ask you what I wasasking myself, and I constantly
ask myself, is am I doing enough?
Am I honoring the lives of myfriends that gave everything for
this country?
Am I building something thatmatters and something that's

(05:37):
going to last?
So, gents, this 4th of July, don't just celebrate.
Reflect, lead and act on it.
Do something hard today, onpurpose, like for those that
can't right.
Lift heavy, run a hard mile, you know, push yourself, and

(05:58):
then you can post it in theinner circle and tag a brother
right, lead from the front.
We don't just get freedom, weearn it, and we don't just earn
it for ourselves, we earn it forour families, for our brothers
and for everybody that'swatching us.
Let's be the kind of men whodon't waste that gift.

(06:20):
So, if this message hits homefor you, share it with somebody
who needs to hear it, and if youhaven't joined the inner circle
yet, this is your invitation.
The world needs more men wholive free, lead strong and don't
settle so until next time.
Live disciplined, lead withpurpose and earn your freedom.

(06:42):
Let's go.
