I'm your host, jp Bolwan.
This podcast is your resourcefor unlocking the healthiest,
most productive and highlyeffective man within you.
Let's go.
What's up, guys?
(00:31):
Welcome back to the HighlyEffective man podcast.
I'm your host, jp Bolwan, navySEAL, veteran life and fitness
coach and firefighter.
So today's episode is for theman who's tired of like spinning
his wheels.
So if you're fed up withoverthinking your workouts, your
meals, your routines, if youwant to stop relying on
(00:51):
motivation and finally feelconsistent, this is your wake-up
call.
We're talking about systems, discipline and how we create the
kind of structure that leads tofreedom.
So let's get into it.
So this is why you need to relyon systems over motivation.
Okay, because here's the dealMotivation is garbage if you're
(01:15):
relying on it to change yourlife.
It's unpredictable, it'semotional and, frankly, it's the
reason why most guys startstrong and then they burn out by
week two.
But you know what never fails?
Systems, okay, systems,routines, discipline.
It's that 6 am training session.
(01:35):
That's a non-negotiable right.
It's those prep meals thateliminate decision fatigue.
It's that morning routine thatsets the tone before the world
is like pulling at you.
If you're the kind of man whowants consistency without
overthinking it, then this isyour path.
Okay, you don't need to feellike it, you just need to
(01:56):
execute and systems create thatfreedom.
Some guys hear the word routineand they think, oh, it's going
to be restrictive, ok, but I'llsay this systems, they don't
cage you.
They actually free you, andwhen you automate things that
matter your workouts, your meals, your planning you create
(02:20):
mental clarity.
Mental clarity, okay, and thatgives you freedom to lead, to
grow, to be present with yourfamily and to move through your
day like you're a man on amission.
Right now, I'm in week 12 withthe original group who started
the Highly Effective mancommunity with me.
We started back in January andthis week's about building that
system.
(02:40):
The best feedback that I'vegotten is that they don't have
to think anymore, they just doit right.
All the stuff they've beendoing over the last 12 weeks has
led to that the accountability, the discipline, the structure.
It's created new habits thathave them running on autopilot,
and that's the real win.
(03:01):
Okay, now, recently I wentthrough a coaching program for
myself because obviously I wantto be the best coach I can be
for the men who come to me andcome to my program, and the
focus of the program was allabout getting into the flow,
right, getting into the zone, that type of thing.
And it's that state where youknow everything is just clicking
(03:22):
, you're not having to think, you're just doing.
You know everything is justclicking, you're not having to
think, you're just doing it,you're dialed in, you're present
, you're sharp.
And the big takeaway in thatprogram is that flow just
doesn't happen.
Okay, it's not magic.
It comes from eliminatingdecision fatigue and being
organized.
All right, using your calendarand actually sticking to it,
(03:45):
okay, eliminating distractionslike your phone, your computer,
you know, building your day withintentional blocks of time so
that there isn't that chaos, right, it's a system and when
you follow it you actually getmore done, you feel more in
control and you're able to showup as a high-performing man that
(04:08):
you know you can be.
So if you're listening to this,I know what you want, even if
you haven't said it out loud, right, because I've been there,
I've lived it.
You want clarity, to stopguessing yourself every step of
the way.
You want consistency, no morestarting and stopping.
(04:29):
You want momentum, the kindthat stacks, wins over time.
You want freedom.
Freedom from the chaos, fromindecision, from that voice that
keeps saying I'll start onMonday, and you want to feel
like a man on a mission againthat's fired up, focused and
(04:49):
dialed in.
Well, the way you get there issystems.
Okay, so build it around theman that you want to become.
Ask yourself, who do I want tobe a year from now?
Do I want to be stronger?
Do I want to be more confidentNow?
Do I want to be stronger?
Do I want to be more confident?
You know a man looks at hisfamily and he wants to be that
(05:13):
rock for them, right, cool?
Well then, build a system thatthat man would live by and start
living it today.
Okay, train three to five timesa week.
Lock in your sleep.
Set a Sunday planning routineright for the week so you know
(05:33):
what's coming up and how toprepare for it.
Prep your meals before thechaos starts of the week.
The less you have to think, themore you can do, and the more
you do, the more you become thathigh performing man.
Now, discipline creates momentum, and let me be real with you.
(05:55):
Discipline is not punishment, okay, it's power.
Everybody knows that adisciplined man is a guy you
don't fuck with is a guy youdon't fuck with right.
One disciplined action leads toanother.
One decision becomes a routine, and then that routine becomes
(06:17):
an identity, and once you'reliving from identity instead of
emotion, you're unbreakable.
And that's what I want for youand that's what I've helped men
build.
Not just a six-pack yeah,six-pack's awesome.
Yeah, that's what I want foryou and that's what I've helped
men build.
Not just a six pack yeah, sixpacks Awesome.
Yeah, that's cool, Right.
But a life that runs on amission, with momentum and
(06:40):
meaning.
That's the real power.
So, if you're tired of feelingstuck, if you're sick of wasting
time, energy and willpower,it's time to stop thinking okay,
and it's time to start doing.
Create your systems, commit tothe routine, build a structure
(07:00):
that will carry you even whenthe motivation is gone, because
the motivation, motivation comesand goes, right.
That system stays Because, atthe end of the day, the man who
has to decide every day, likewhat they're going to do, you've
already lost man, but the manwho's already decided, that guy
(07:22):
wins right.
And if this hit home for you, send it to a brother who needs
to hear it.
I want you to subscribe, drop areview and, if you're ready to
stop guessing and startexecuting, join us at the highly
effective man community.
Until next time, lock in yourroutines, stay consistent and
(08:00):
stay highly effective.
Let's go.

yourself.
