In today's episode of The Homestretch w/Adrian Durant, we have the pleasure of having not only a talented athlete and an inspiring personality but also an entrepreneur and a business woman on the show, Track and Field High Jumper, Priscilla Frederick-Loomis. Priscilla is a 2015 Pan American Games Silver medalist, setting a new country High Jump record & becoming National Female Athlete of the Year in 2015, while finishing both seasons competing at the 2015 Outdoor World Championships in Beijing, China and 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Priscilla is now in training for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. While on this journey, she has been inducted into her High Schools Hall of Fame as well as the South Jersey Hall of Fame. She owns several businesses and is an Inspirational Speaker.
But all this success doesn't came easy for Priscilla. She has faced more than her fair share of challenges. For Priscilla, along with the gruelling training regime, she also has to grind daily to secure the funds necessary to be able to compete that has drawn upon every facet of her entrepreneurial spirit. But that hasn't stopped the high jumper from doing everything it takes to make it to a second Olympics. Priscilla’s journey has been very different than most athletes and in this interview she wants to share her life story with those seeking motivation. In this podcast we talk about her early days, how she got into athletics and sports while initially she was inclined towards acting and drama. She shares her valuable insights on how an athlete can also be an entrepreneur and can be independent of sponsors and can manage their own funds like Priscilla did. We also talked about her preparations for the 2021 Olympic Games and her childhood passion for acting. Priscilla is truly a positive representation of hard work and dedication to the younger generation.
