Welcome to another episode of The Homestretch w/Adrian Durant, where we meet and have conversations with some of the most inspiring and elite athletes, coaches and sports personalities. Our today's guest is an inspiration to not just athletes but for every one of us. He has one of the most heart touching stories of courage, determination and powerful will to never give up. We have with us, a U.S Army veteran, Paralympic Silver Medalist and famous keynote speaker & Media personality, John Register. Sports was Josh's passion from the childhood but his life forever altered with one misstep over the hurdle. Just when he was at the peak of his career, when he seemed destined to compete as a member of the 1996 Olympic Team, in 1994 John suffered a serious injury due to which he had to lose one of his legs. Where most people could have broken down and gave up, John showed and extraordinary will to fight back. Never turned back from that point, John went on to create history, he earned the Silver medal in the long jump at the 2000 Paralympic Games and set the American long jump record in the process.
John's story is an inspiration to many, here in this interview; John Register will share his extraordinary life story in his own words. John talks about, from an Olympic track hopeful; after an injury, how he became a two-sport Paralympian. After a tremendous sporting career, John went on to become a successful keynote speaker and an entrepreneur. From his exceptional story of courage and inspiration, John shares the life lessons he learned through times of testing and developing the mindset to focus on what is possible.
