Welcome to the Horror Agenda. This week we cover the 2021 short film Atrophy co-written & co-directed by Nick Hartanto and Sam Roden.
You can watch the short here. You can watch all the shorts we covered on our YouTube playlist here.
The film was selected by Short of the Week and is reviewed here by Chelsea Lupkin. In this piece, which we reference several times, Nick is quoted about how his mom's stroke inspired the film and how it weighed heavily on his parents and how he needed to tell this story to process his feelings.
This week Victor recommends Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995) a feature film written by Ethan Reiff & Cyrus Voris & Mark Bishopopen and directed by Ernest Dickerson. The film as part of the Tales from the Crypt series opens and closes with the Crypt Keeper and follows a drifter holding a key that can stop demons and people trapped by a demon collector.
Carlos recommends Dungeons and Drag Queens, two seasons of Dimension 20 on Dropout.TV where GM Brennan Lee Mulligan plays a game of DnD with the Questing Queens: Bob the Drag Queen, Monét X Change, Jujubee and Alaska Thunderfuck.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
