Old cartoons from the 50's, 60's and 70's were much different than todays cartoons. One of the biggest differences was not only the illustrations but the insertion of laughing tracks. A laughing track is basically crowd laughter inserted in spots of a cartoon that more or less give you the cue that you the viewer are supposed to laugh. Why was this done? Scooby-Doo is an American animated franchise, comprising many animated television series produced from 1969 to the present day. Writers Joe Ruby and Ken Spears created the original series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, for Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1969.
