Sweat with Les CEO and Creative Presentation Leader at Ralph Lauren, Leslie Corbett walks through the power of movement and mind-body connection. Leslie’s blended retail and athletic background have positioned her beautifully to build her own company focused on her client and their fitness goals. Over the past few years, Leslie has gained exposure with retailers such as Jimmy Choo, Saks, Fifth Avenue, and Ralph Lauren while also working as a New York Knicks City Dancer and leading dance and fitness classes for Body by Simone. The juxtaposition of high-end retail combined with focused movement has given Leslie the space to create a truly magical work-out experience for her clients. Her business draws the attention of hard-working New Yorkers who need a break from their screen time and want to engage their bodies in a more connected way. She explains how the monotony of doing the same thing everyday can lead to burnout if the routine is not broken up with movement. She cites the effects of movement on the brain and how it can lead to more clarity, better decision-making, and an overall happier state of being. She shares, “A lot of people underestimate themselves, but you would be surprised to see what you can do physically when you get over your own mental hurdles.” This conversation highlights the direct connection between movement and the relationship we have with ourselves, our work, and those around us.
