How do you feel on Mother’s Day?

A question often not asked.
Conversations not always had.

This week I’m prioritising my own wellbeing—and revisiting one of my most vulnerable episodes to date.
As Mother’s Day approaches, I reflect on a deeply personal part of my story: the grief that came with the decision not to have children, and how illness shaped that path.

Whether you're living with a health condition, supporting someone who is, or just wanting to understand a different side of Mother’s Day—this episode offers honesty, insight, and hope.

Key Takeaways:

  • Illness can interrupt fertility and reshape the future you planned
  • Grief isn’t always about loss of what was—it’s also the loss of what could have been
  • A meaningful life is still possible, even without parenthood
  • Sharing these stories helps break the silence for others walking a similar path
