The Mingus Awareness Project, which happened over three nights in
Richmond raising money for the ALS Association, which is Louke
Gerrick's disease, which is the parents of the guys who
founded the charity. Uh, their their mom died of that
and then that's why they came with his idea. Anyway,
three nights of music. We played on the second night

at the Mburg was cool. We played, uh what we
did what I said, was very fun. Mike and Mike
Hawkins in the Brotherhood opened up, but that was awesome.
Eight and then Mike Hawkins and Stephan had a duet
in one of the songs with us, and then we
had Saxomoe came and sat in on a song also,
so it was it was awesome. Also played with the

Toby Whitaker group Toby Whittaker on so well, that was cool.

How big was his group?

It was probably like eight horns eight horns. Wait, let
me think one, two trombones, two trumpets, like one, two, three,
maybe four saxophones. Yeah, eight horns. It was like a
big band, only on those. I only played on the
last song. Okay, before that it was probably five horns.

I guess, Oh, okay, w word looks cool man, I
just remember what I was doing. I played one gig
with Ben White at Brandley Park with Todd and Scott Clark.

The weather.

Out it cleared up, but it was like, man, the
ship was like complete cap Like the weather was ridiculous
because it was saying that it was going to rain
all morning and go into the Really it was gonna
be supposed to go all day.

But uh, we totally got.

Lucky, man, and we were able to do the gig
still and it was really fun. It was okay turnout
because obviously, like the weather was trying to turn people
away for sure, but yeah, it was really fun. Corey
Wells on guitar as well came through and played.

So real fun night.

I didn't do any gigs except for a church gig.
But I've been doing all that pedal stuff. Pedals, half
of them, half of the pre orders have like already
sold like half of the stock.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
It's only like.

Speaker 10 (04:19):
Like twenty twenty five pedals I'm doing on this one
limited well in this form, so now I'm like getting
into more having them all assembled not by me. And
if I do that, I can smaller parts and make
the actually smaller so it's less materials, let's you know.

So the next pedal that I'm doing is the ole fuzz,
which I've made before, but now I'm making it smaller
and it will cost less than it did originally. And yeah,
it's I'm very excited about it.

But I actually am almost done with the design for.

Speaker 10 (05:01):
That, going to hold off before I order the first
couple because I got to test them and all that
and also see and like make sure that they do
sound like the original ones. But yeah, I just been
have a great time doing that stuff. So I also
met up with the screen printer this week and so,
I mean they've never painted these things before. But yeah,

I'm trying to do as much so much not myself,
but the screen printer local is nice to have. But
I'm gonna the painted by the boxes. I'm gonna order
pre drilled and painted to my specs.

Cool.

So really all I have to do is solder a
couple of things and then put the guts in the
box and screw some stuff together and nice. Yeah, but
it's now, yeah, ever since I got into that circuit
board fabrication software, and like the turnaround on them is
so quick cool. So yeah, it's all types of stuff

I'm thinking.

Of now that can make that is very neat and small.

Speaker 10 (06:06):
Like I can't emphasize how crazy it is that this
stuff is shrunk like this size, Like there was enough.
I made that one pedal like this big because that's
like the only way I could fit everything in there.
But it's like larger parts and stuff, and it wasn't
that efficient. Now, like I can put it in a
box this big that's like half the size of it.

That's awesome, and it also makes.

Speaker 10 (06:30):
It cheaper to make, which is why you can get
kind of like really awesome shit now for a reasonable
amount because the labor and all this other stuff is insane.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Yeah, like this is all robots putting this shit together.
You getting handmade shit with the robot.

Speaker 10 (06:46):
It's coming from China, and I'm able, Like I can
submit the design the file with the specs for all
the parts, which they keep in house where they make
the circuit boards, but they populate the circuit boards everything,
So I could send them the file on a Monday
and I could get the boards by possibly Friday or

Saturday morning from China. Wow, like manufactured and everything.

That's crazy. To get your ship. Uh well, right now
you put orders in.

into a smaller package. Uh, but only after I've done
the Ola fuzzes. So that's gonna be the next thing,
because people have wanted those for a long time and
it's just finally I can do it the way I
want at a reasonable cost.

No, it's super exciting that you that you brought the
