In this episode, Mike pulls back the curtain on his journey since 2016—a path of self-discovery that flipped his world upside down. He lays bare a truth that hit him hard: superficial conversation leaves him empty. With raw honesty, he breaks down three levels of conversational intimacy—surface chatter, mental exploration, and the soul-deep emotional core. Drawing from personal resistance and breakthroughs, Mike reveals how craving depth became his guiding light. He connects with his tribe—people seeking transformation through truth and transcendence through love—and invites you to ditch the small talk for something real. Tune in to explore what lights you up and join Mike’s Inner Wealth Mastermind retreat in the Outer Banks, starting next week, where depth isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the mission.

(00:23):
Welcome to the Inner WealthPodcast, where we learn and
choose to live inspired each andevery day On this
self-development, self-awareness, personal improvement path that
I've been on since March of2016,.

(00:46):
A lot of things about me and howI understand myself and how I
understand life.
They've shifted radically and Iremember, early on in my
journey early on you know we'retalking 2016, 2017, I started to

(01:07):
realize that I had zeroappetite and I had zero patience
for let's call it in my mind, these are my words, so you know
my wife.
This doesn't ring true to mywife when, when I, when I'm
talking about how I see thisthing, but it is true for me

(01:29):
when I say I don't have a wholelot of appetite or a whole lot
of patience for superficialconversation.
I, when I think aboutconversation and I've I've done
episodes on this before therebefore.
There's like three levels ofconversational intimacy that I

(01:51):
have experienced, that I'veidentified.
The first level ofconversational intimacy is very
superficial and it's about theweather and sports and politics
and economics, and sports andpolitics and economics.
And it's not that they're notimportant, it's not that these

(02:13):
elements aren't important andit's not like they're not
interesting, but there's reallynot a whole lot there.
There's not a whole lot for usto personally like to do
something with.
And I like to do something withconversation.
I like for there to be apurpose and a meaning and some

(02:37):
kind of a transformationalability that we derive,
capability or capacity that wederive from conversations or
discussions or relationships.
I realized a long time ago thatI don't have a lot of really,
really close friends.

(02:58):
I have a very small group ofpeople that I meet with, that I
kind of hang out with, I guess, befriend.
I do have my, my, my innerwealth mastermind and and the
they are not my mastermind isnot at, you know, level one
conversational intimacy, but butthat it's our, it's our

(03:19):
mastermind and we, althoughthere are pockets like we have
our spring retreat next weekthere's going to be pockets of
communication.
There's going to be pockets offriendship, of fellowship at.
You know, we're going to theOuter Banks, north Carolina.
There's going to be pockets ofthat.
But the work that we're there todo is not level one

(03:44):
conversational intimacy.
There's a depth to it, there'smeaning, but when it comes to
just people who I'm really tightwith in life, that I would say
that I do life with on a regularbasis, I don't have many, but
what I have are a few that goreally, really deep and level

(04:09):
one conversational intimacy isall about like surface level
conversation.
There's not a lot of depth toit.
And when Angie loves learningpeople's favorite color and
their favorite sports teams andtheir favorite bands, she loves
those things and those elementsof life don't really light me up

(04:34):
, they don't.
There's nothing for me to sinkmy teeth into with that, into
with that.
I often say and it sounds kindof asshole-ish that I really
don't.
I'm not interested in learningthe names of your husband and

(04:56):
your wife and your kids and allthese things.
To me, that's level oneconversational intimacy.
I want to get to level two andthree.
Level two is more about themental plane.
It's about your vision, yourgoals, your strategies, that
you're using tactics, thatyou're using processes.
It's more about the mentalrealm.

(05:16):
It's more about what'shappening in your mind and what
are your plans and what are yourideas.
Level two is a level belowlevel one conversational
intimacy.
It's less superficial and it'smore getting to, really getting
inside of the person.

(05:37):
But it's only one level deepand they're still in those
situations.
Deep and they're still in thosesituations.
They're still.
For me, it lacks a little bitof depth for it to be truly,
truly interesting.
I think there's there's somevalue in level two
conversational intimacy, whichis really about the mental world

(05:58):
, which is really about you knowwhat's happening in your mind.
There's there's, you know.
There's certainly some value, there's certainly some benefit,
there's certainly aconnectedness in level two
conversational intimacy, butit's not the depth that I'm
looking for.
Level three conversationalintimacy is all about the

(06:19):
emotional world.
It's all about where spiritlives in you, inspired in spirit
.
It's all about where spiritlives in you, inspired in spirit
.
It's the flow of energy throughyou.
Emotion is energy in motion.
Level three conversationalintimacy is really about tell me
what you're feeling in there, tell me what's going on in your

(06:41):
body.
I want to know what fears youhave.
I want to know where you feelfear.
I want to know where you feeljoy.
I want to know what lights youup.
I want to know what inspiresyou.
I want to know what uninspiresyou.
I want to know when you feelbored.
I want to know when you feelencouraged.

(07:02):
I want to know when you feelencouraged.
I want to know when you feelsomething that lights up your
body and gets you into rhythmand gets you into action or is a
big stop sign.
And the reason I say all of thisis because back in 2016 and
2017, when I was payingattention to my body, whenever

(07:27):
there'd be level oneconversational intimacy, I could
feel resistance in my body, that I was out of alignment and
I wasn't where I wanted to beand I wasn't tasting the depth
of life that I wanted to tasteand I wasn't feeling the depth
of life that I wanted to feel.
And it's not boredom, I wantedto taste and I wasn't feeling

(07:47):
the depth of life that I wantedto feel.
And and there's, there's it'snot boredom, I wouldn't say, but
it's just when you're for me,when you're in conversational or
level one conversationalintimacy, where it's, it's all
just about the superficial, surface level stuff of life.
There's this void ofinspiration in me that loves to

(08:12):
get deeper and get inside ofsomebody to really understand
what's happening in their mindand body.
So when I look at my clientele, when I look at the people in
the Interwealth Mastermind, whenI look when we're not in
session, where there will besocialization, there will be

(08:50):
connection.
It's almost like our retreats, our Interwealth Mastermind
retreats.
They're almost like they'refamily reunions in a way shape
or form, where it's people thathaven't seen each other for six
months except on a Zoom call gettogether and now we want to
spend some time and want to betogether and want to experience
life together.

(09:10):
But in the work that we dothere is a depth that goes
beyond anything superficial orsurface level.
I worked with a market, workedwith a marketer and I've
actually done a podcast episodewith her and her name's Ashley

(09:32):
May Fernandez and she she's agenius marketer and I did some
work with her and she helped meidentify like the ideal client
in my life.
And there's two.
They're two distinct types ofpeople but they share the same
commonality.
They share the same, the samedesires of what they're actually

(09:54):
after and what they actuallywant in their life.
But they're two.
They show up differently my, myideal one-on-one client, my, my
ideal one-on-one client.
And and I'm gonna this is whereit's good it's gonna get a lot
woo because she's anastrological marketer she does,
you know, she uses human designand astrology and gene keys and

(10:15):
all the stuff that I love to dosome marketing.
She's the first marketer thatdidn't ask me who my ideal
client was, but told, told meand she was spot the fuck on.
But she said for my idealone-on-one client, it's Scorpio
energy and it's power throughtruth, it's transformation

(10:36):
through truth, it's deep, it'smeaningful.
Scorpio energy doesn't want tobe told what they want to hear.
They want to be told what theyneed to hear so that they can
transform, so they can be reborn, so that they can level up, so
that they can step into anotherlevel of power, so they can step
into another level of theirpotential, so that they can step

(10:57):
into another level of theirpurpose.
Scorpio energy is very driven, very determined, and inside of
them, in their bodies, there'san emotional wave that they're
always trying to understand, that they're always trying to

(11:18):
manage, that they're alwaystrying to master, that they're
always trying to become in tunewith Seemingly with pure Scorpio
energy, the workings of theworld and how to work in the
world and how to create wealthand success in the world and how
to create an awesome lifeoutside.
It seems easier for Scorpiosthan most, than most Scorpio

(11:43):
energy, than most signs, andthey have a tendency to level up
fast.
They're driven and determinedand and they work and when they
work it works and they createextraordinary external lives.
But their work is reallyunderstanding what's happening
in their body and masteringtheir emotions.

(12:05):
And when I'm in collaborationwith my Scorpio energy clients
and I'm not saying Scorpio, that's Scorpio sign is the
Scorpio energy, when I'm inalignment and I'm collaborating
with them.
They do not want me to just letthem speak a bunch of nonsense

(12:28):
and just let it go and notaddress it.
They're looking for me tolisten to their words.
They're looking for me tolisten for their limiting
beliefs.
They're looking for me tolisten to their limitations,
that they're speaking and theywant me to poke them in the eye
and point them out, because whatthey want more than anything Is
transformation.
They don't want it.

(12:48):
They're okay if it's messy, they're okay if it doesn't feel
good.
They know that the key totransformation, the key to their
rebirth.
The key to their leveling up Isgoing to be getting
uncomfortable and they want tobe told what they need to hear,

(13:12):
not what they want to be told.
What they need to hear, notwhat they want to hear
Transformation through truth.
And they're driven anddetermined to transform their
lives and to level up in everyaspect of their lives.
The Scorpio Energy one-on-oneclients that I have are wealthy
and successful and they're fitand they have awesome marriages
and they're always looking tolevel up.
And I like to say where mostpeople are trying to go from 50%
or 60% to 80%, my Scorpioclients are trying to go from 99

(13:39):
to 99.1% and they know that thekey to going from 99% to 99.1%
is in one belief, it's in oneperception, it's in one
perspective and a little tinyshift that's going to unlock a
new dilemma or new paradigm intheir life.

(14:00):
It's going to reshape a dilemma.
It's going to create a newparadigm in their life.
In my mastermind it's acompletely different vibe.
My mastermind students, they'rePisces energy.
My ideal mastermind students,it's Pisces energy.

(14:20):
It's all about spirituality.
It's all about spiritualprinciples.
It's all about energy healing.
It's all about the mystical.
It's all about transcendencethrough love.
It's all about the power of thecommunity.
It's all about the love and theconnection and the

(14:41):
relationships and the depth andthe level two and level three
conversational intimacy.
It's all about the connection.
It's all about acceptance andlove and authenticity and just
leveling each other up and beingempowered by other people that

(15:01):
are going in the same directionIn the mastermind.
This is why we have a bookstudy where we study
self-mastery concepts and wehave a soul sciences call where
we study astrology and humandesign and gene keys and the
life you were born to live andsoul contracts.

(15:22):
It's because the Pisces energyclients that I have, the
mastermind students that I have.
They want to know everythingabout all of the mystical and
the more esoteric parts of thishuman experience.
So they're willing to studysome things that most people

(15:43):
won't.
They're willing to read somethings that most people won't.
They're willing to let go ofbeliefs and perspectives that
most people won't.
They want the depth ofspirituality, they want the
mystical.
They want to understand life ata different level.
It's not just about leveling upin their life.

(16:04):
They want to understand life ata different level.
It's not just about leveling upin their life.
They want to understand life.
They want to comprehend whatthis is all about.
And whether it be Scorpioenergy or whether it be Pisces
energy, in the one-on-one or inthe mastermind, these are really

(16:26):
deep people and they don't playon the surface.
They are deep,multi-dimensional people that
are curious about life, that arecurious about themselves, that
want to understand everythingthat they need to level up in

(16:46):
the dimension that they want tolevel up in.
And Scorpio it's more about theinternal transformation to
create more external success andwealth.
And the Pisces energy it's allabout transcendence through love
and spirituality.
But neither of them play at thesurface level.

(17:13):
When I go to network the thingand I don't go to network a lot,
and partly the reason isbecause I'm always more curious
about what's really really deepand meaningful in somebody's
lives and typically at a typicalnetworking event you really
don't have time to get that deep.

(17:35):
But when I do network I'mlooking for one person to let me
in, for one person to let me in, and I'm looking for one person
to really unlock the door sothat we can get into level two
and level three conversationalintimacy.
At at the choose your destinylive intensive workshop, it's

(17:56):
pretty typical for me to getinside of somebody's awareness
and start to unlock pain andsuffering and grief.
And I'm not a therapist.
But when I help them understandwhat they're really thinking

(18:17):
and what they're really feelingand how they're really showing
up, I invite them to let it goand surrender the pain and
surrender the suffering.
And that is conversational, like third dimensional, third
level conversational intimacy.
I do not play at the surfacelevel and this is why I don't
have a whole lot of just shallowrelationships where it's just

(18:42):
about getting to know you.
No, I don't want to get to knowyou, I want to get to know
what's inside of you, what'shappening inside.
I am psychologically andphilosophically curious.
The impact for me in this worldhas been by realizing the

(19:03):
impact that I make and theimpact that I've had on people.
And the impact in my life isrealizing how I don't typically
just fit into the material worldand the messages that I send
and the information and thewisdom that I share.
It doesn't connect with thetypical human being in this

(19:27):
experience who wakes up and goesto work at nine o'clock, comes
home at five, has a wife, has akid or a couple of kids, or has
a spouse, has a house and isjust looking to retire and has
some Netflix shows that they'realways watching.
It's just that stereotypicalhuman life Typically, those

(19:52):
people don't show up in my life.
The people who show up in mylife are the spiritual warriors
who really, really want to divedeep, who want to get into
uncharted territories inauthenticity, in vulnerability,
in rawness and really creating asafe space for each other to be

(20:18):
absolutely true to ourselves, without being judged, without
being criticized or withoutbeing corrected in some way,
shape or form, or without beingcorrected in some way, shape or
form.
The people in my life want togo deep and I want to go deep
with them.
Now, why am I saying all this?
Because years ago, I thought Iwas a little bit of an asshole

(20:55):
and I was at times accused ofbeing a little bit of an asshole
.
And I was at times accused ofbeing a little bit of an asshole
because I was bored in certaintransactional interpersonal
connection and I thought it wassomething that I needed to fix
in me in order to not be so, notneed to go deep all the time
that there was something wrongwith me.
But you know what?
The thing that most peoplethink is your.
What's wrong with you is trulyyour gift and truly your
superpower.

(21:15):
Because if you're listening tothis, if you're watching this,
you're not built like everybodyelse.
We are not like them.
You listen to this because youwant depth, you want meaning,
you want the philosophy, youwant the esoteric, you want
truth.
You are a seeker of truth andyou want to unlock a whole new

(21:40):
level of mastery inside of youBecause you know that's where
freedom lives.
If you're listening to this, that is what's in you, that's
trying to get out, and if you'relistening to this, you probably
do get bored in level oneconversational intimacy,
interactions and transactions, because you're not built like

(22:03):
everybody else.
When I was working with Ashleyand we were talking about my
ideal client, she said Mike, you're a weirdo and you're here
to teach weirdos.
You're a misfit and you're hereto teach misfits.
You're here to be on thecutting edge of philosophy and
spirituality and mysticism andyou're here to speak that shit

(22:26):
into the world.
And then those people, thosefew people who are after that,
will lean in.
But you're not for everybodyand I knew that at the core.
But the really truly lean intothat has been absolutely
liberating and absolutelyfreeing and totally fulfilling

(22:47):
in this lifetime.
I want you to reflect on whattypes of relationships light you
up, what level ofconversational intimacy do you
live in and what level ofconversational intimacy do you
allow yourself to fall into?
Because, for me, I don't wantto play at the surface, I don't

(23:11):
want to play on the surface andI don't want to play in the
superficial world.
I want to get to know yourproblem, your obstacle, your
internal challenge, so that wecan unlock that shit, so you can
naturally and authenticallystep into a whole nother level
of wealth and success in theexternal world.
But until we get in there and Iunderstand what's in there, I

(23:34):
can't help at the depth that Ican help at the capacity and the
capability that I can help.
But once I'm in there, we'llunlock all kinds of magical shit
.
I promise Guys, if any of thissounds like you whether it be
the one-on-one client and thatScorpio energy that's driven and

(23:54):
determined, that really wantsthe truth and transformation
through truth, or if you're thatPisces energy and you want the
spirituality and you want themysticism and you want the depth
of community and you want to bearound people that are doing
the same work and and feel, wantto feel, at a deeper level.

(24:14):
If either of these sounds likeyou, I'd love you to shoot me a
message, and you can.
You can email me at Mike atinterwealthglobalcom and getting
connection.
You can go tointerwealthglobalcom and send me
a message through the website.
But if either of these soundslike you, I would love, love,
love to have a conversation withyou to see if we're a good fit.

(24:35):
I am looking for one newprivate client.
I haven't taken on a newprivate client in a long time.
That's a one-on-onerelationship.
I have a client I haven't takenon a new private client in a
long time.
That's a one-on-onerelationship.
That's that person that'salready wealthy and already is
successful that is looking tounlock a whole other level of

(24:56):
themselves, and if that's you, Iwould love to have that
conversation.
If you're craving a spiritualcommunity that will allow you to
be a weirdo, because we inviteall the spiritual misfits into
the world, into our community,if that sounds like you, lean in
.
We'd love to have some newfamily members.
Guys, I love you.

(25:20):
Next week we'll be in the OuterBanks, north Carolina, and Angie
and I are going.
When we get to the Outer Banksearly in the week we're going to
do a podcast episode.
So next week is going to be allabout our journey and our travel
to our Inner Wealth MastermindRetreat in the Outer Banks, our
spring retreat.
We do this twice a year.
We go to an awesome place inthe spring and we also go to an

(25:42):
awesome place in the fall placein the spring and we also do go
to an awesome place in the fall.
We went to Gatlinburg in lastOctober.
We've been to Miami and Denverand San Antonio and Sedona and,
like I said, miami, gatlinburgand now Outer Banks.
We're going to hit up somereally cool places and if that
sounds like something you'd beinterested in spending a couple
of days every couple of months, spending a couple of days with a

(26:04):
spiritual community that isnothing but love and inspiration
We'd love to have you part.
But message me, Mike atinnerwealthglobalcom and we'll
get in touch.
But until next week, if youenjoyed what you heard and you
want to learn more, go towwwinnerwealthglobalcom for more
