In this powerful episode, Mike peels back the layers of conditioning and programming to help you reconnect to your original essence—the version of you that existed before the world taught you to be someone else. He walks through the spiritual and emotional journey from disconnection to alignment, revealing how midlife recalibrations can awaken your soul’s purpose. You’ll learn how to break free from societal expectations, listen to your inner voice, and begin crafting a life that feels like a full-body yes—from the moment you wake up to the moment your head hits the pillow.

Mike dives deep into the cost of living out of alignment and how to reclaim your authentic path. This episode will wake you up to what’s been buried underneath fear, insecurity, and the pressure to conform—and guide you back to your personal power and divine blueprint.

Key Takeaways

  1. You Were Born with Everything You Need
    • From your first inhale, you had the talents, gifts, and purpose already encoded in your DNA.
  2. Conditioning Hijacked Your Truth
    • Childhood experiences and unconscious beliefs created fear-based stories that led you off your authentic path.
  3. Midlife Isn’t a Crisis—It’s a Calibration
    • When the life built from fear collapses, you’re invited to remember who you really are and rebuild from authenticity.
  4. Alignment Feels Like Freedom
    • If it’s not a “fuck yes,” it’s a “fuck no.” Living in alignment creates energy instead of draining it.
  5. You’re Here to Be Fully You
    • When you live from alignment, you stop dying a little each day and finally begin to fully live.

Notable Quotes

  • “You were born perfect. You were born with a destiny. You were born with talents. You were born with gifts.”
  • “You don’t become someone different—you remember who you were originally.”
  • “If you’re not inspired by your life, you’ve been compromising life.”
  • “In an aligned life, everything you do creates more energy instead of robbing you of energy.”
  • “If you’re questioning whether you’re on your aligned path… you’re not.”

(00:23):
Welcome to the Inner WealthPodcast, where we learn and
choose to live inspired each andevery day.
You were born perfect.
You were born absolutelyperfect.
Your very first inhale you wereperfection.

(00:46):
You were born with a destiny.
You were born with talents.
You were born with gifts.
You were born with skillsalready in your genetic makeup.
You were already born witheverything that you needed to
succeed in your most purposefulway, in your most powerful way,

(01:08):
in your most unique, authentic, aligned, intentional path to
succeed on your spiritualjourney, to succeed in your
spiritual purpose and to unlockeverything you needed materially

(01:30):
to live that spiritual purpose.
Sometime after you took thatfirst inhale, some programming
and conditioning started to takeshape, started to take root.
Now picture this, imagine thisyou were in your crib and you

(01:53):
got hungry.
You didn't even know you werehungry, but you got hungry and
it was your natural instinct.
You cried and when you cried, somebody came and slammed a
bottle in your mouth and fed you.
You went to the bathroom andyou went to the bathroom.
And when you went to thebathroom in your diaper,
somebody rushed into your roomand changed your diaper and in

(02:15):
these moments you were like holycow.
This is awesome.
All of my needs are taken careof.
All of my wants are taken careof.
Everything, like my discomforts, are taken care of.
There's people that love me andthey embrace me and they
cherish me and they make sureI'm safe and they make sure I'm
comfortable and they never leaveme alone for too long.

(02:36):
And every time I'muncomfortable or something goes
not perfect, there's alwayspeople that rush in to help me
and to take care of me.
Until the first time theydidn't You're.
You're hungry.
Maybe it's the middle of thenight and nobody nobody shows up
.
Maybe your mom and dad sleptthrough your, your crying, or

(03:01):
maybe one time you were.
You know you were uncomfortable, you had a stomach ache and you
cried and nobody heard it.
Or, or you, you had a stomachache and you didn't, something
was imperfect and or or you're.
Somebody actually came to yourrescue, came to your aid and
started to sue you, but itdidn't work.
And you're like, oh my gosh, now, now, even when I'm in pain,

(03:22):
even when I'm uncomfortable, like nobody's there to save me
and just to make it all go away.
And you started building upthese stories and you started
building up these beliefs thatmaybe your needs weren't going
to be taken care of or maybeyour wants weren't going to be
taken care of, or that nobodycould help you become
comfortable.
You started building thesebelief systems and you started

(03:42):
building them at an unconsciouslevel.
You started building thesebelief systems and you started
building them at an unconsciouslevel.
Between the ages of zero andseven.
You are an unconscious spongeand you experience the world
very, very subconsciously.
You don't know what's right andwhat's wrong.
You don't know what's true andwhat's false.

(04:07):
When, when, when a story pops inthat your needs aren't going to
be taken care of or that yoursecurity is in jeopardy, it just
roots into your subconsciousmakeup.
It becomes a belief, and nowyou live as if that belief is
true, because you don't have theability to discern.
And then, as you grow up, youknow your, your mom, your dad,
your, your family.
They, they lie to you and theytell you that there's a santa
claus and there's's an Easterbunny and there's a tooth fairy.

(04:27):
And you live as if these thingsare true and you'll believe
anything that anyone tells you.
Teachers, pastors, some of yourfriends, your friends tell you
that no one likes you.
And suddenly you've got thisstory lodged.
You've got this belief lodgedin your subconscious and you

(04:49):
live as if this belief is true, even if it's not true.
A boyfriend, a girlfriend tellsyou that they don't like you
anymore and that you don't makethem happy.
And now you've lodged thisstory that you can't make
anybody happy or that it's yourjob to make somebody happy, and
you live as if this belief istrue.
You carry out this belief andwe all know, if you've listened

(05:14):
to this podcast for long enough, that your beliefs create
reality.
Reality does not create beliefsexcept when you are an
unconscious sponge, when youwill believe anything that
anyone tells you.
And then we set out on ajourney to not just reinforce
these beliefs, but we live as ifthese beliefs are true.

(05:36):
And then we shape a reality inthe world through these beliefs,
which often takes us off of ourpath.
And when I say takes us off ofour path, remember when I said
you were born with this destinyin your genetic makeup.
You were born with thesetalents in your genetic makeup.
You were born with everythingyou needed to succeed in your

(05:57):
body.
You were born with everythingthat you needed these dreams,
these destinies, these talents, these ambitions, these desires.
You were born with everythingthat you needed these dreams,
these destinies, these talents, these ambitions, these desires.
You were born with everythingthat you needed to succeed as
the most authentic version ofyou.
But all this conditioning takesyou out of your zone.
All this conditioning takes youoff your path.

(06:20):
New fears come in, new beliefs, new levels of insecurity,
inadequacy and insignificance, and suddenly you're living as if
these are true and you'restarting to try to to eliminate
these stories.
You're trying to eliminate theinsecurity, the feelings and the
emotions associated withinsecurity, inadequacy and
insignificance.

(06:40):
You're starting to live toavoid these feelings and to
disrupt these feelings insteadof dispel these things.
And that shapes an entirely newmaterial path or spiritual path
, and the path that you wereborn with the perfect path, the

(07:03):
perfect destiny, the perfect setof talents, the perfect desire,
the perfect you, the mostauthentic you.
It gets buried under layers andlayers of fear and stories and
doubt and worries, and trying toprove yourself and trying to
overcome what's happening insideof you instead of living your

(07:25):
path and living your destiny.
Now, if you're anything like me,you get to a point where,
somewhere around midlife maybesomewhere around 37 to 43 years
old, somewhere in that zone mostpeople call it a midlife crisis

(07:46):
, but I'd say it's not really amidlife crisis, it's a midlife
calibration.
It's a midlife recalibration.
And what happens in a midlifecalibration is that this
conditioning and thisprogramming and every this life
that you've built on thefoundation of insecurity,
inadequacy, insignificance, allfrom all this fear, from all

(08:09):
these false beliefs, that shitgets way too heavy and it all
falls apart.
And and it's in those moments,in that moment that are, we
realize that the burden andeverything that we've been
carrying around, theseobligations, these, this
inauthentic life that we've beenliving, it's just too heavy to

(08:32):
carry, to make it another 43years or 40 years carrying all
this stuff.
So it all falls apart and if wechoose to, we get to rebuild it
back in a different way andsomebody will say you're
changing, or you've changed oryou're just going through an
identity crisis.

(08:52):
No, you're going through amidlife calibration and now you
get to dispel everything.
Sometimes we call it anawakening as well.
I would say my midlife wasreally an awakening and we get
to rebuild it back, everythingback in an intentional and
purposeful and powerful way, andwe get to remember who we are.

(09:17):
And when I say we get toremember who we are, what I mean
is we get to remember who cameout and who took that first
inhale makeup of that beautiful, perfect, absolutely miracle of

(09:47):
a child that was here, thatincarnated in order to guide
themselves and aid themselvesand live on their spiritual path
spiritual path, the highestform of their expressed being

(10:07):
before all the conditioning andall the programming took root.
And as we let go of theconditioning and as we let go of
the programming, and as we letgo of the fear and the doubt and
the worries and theinsecurities and the
inadequacies and insignificance,as we let go of all these
stories, we don't become someonedifferent.
We remember who we wereoriginally and it is the process

(10:33):
of remembering and that's whatlife is about.
It's also called the hero'sjourney.
You were born, you were perfect, you stumble, you fall and then
the hero is reborn from theashes.
It's the hero's journey.
We're all in a hero's journey.
Why am I?

(10:55):
Why am I saying all this?
There's a word that is super, super powerful and it's super
freeing and liberating, and it'scalled alignment.
The word is alignment and inthe rest of this episode I want
to dive into what alignmentlooks like.
Alignment is when you shiftfrom any sense of doing into

(11:25):
being so.
When I was before, everythingfell apart for me and I got to
rebuild.
I would wake up every day and Ididn't want to wake up at this
time to my alarm clock and Iwould.
I would put on put on longpants in the summer and I didn't
want to wear long pants in thesummer.
I'm always in shorts andflip-flops during the summer,

(11:45):
but during the summer months I'dput on long pants and I didn't
enjoy that and it just didn'tfeel right for me.
But I would go to this place.
I didn't want to go and it wasusually a business, it was
usually a plant and a lot oftimes I was running that plant
and I really didn't want to runthat plant, but I wanted the
money that was associated withrunning that plant.

(12:06):
I really didn't want theresponsibility of the plant, but
I did want the leadership thatI got to experience in that
plant.
I really didn't want to managehundreds of people, but I did
want to inspire hundreds ofpeople.
And I did want to managehundreds of people but I did
want to inspire hundreds ofpeople and I did want to want to
nurture them and I did want tocare for them and grow them and

(12:27):
help them grow and unify them.
I really didn't want to.
I didn't want it theresponsibility for the P&L and I
didn't want the responsibilityfor the hiring and the firing
and L and I didn't want theresponsibility for the hiring
and the firing and I didn't wantthe responsibility for the
supply chain and for theenvironmental, health and safety
programs that we had.
I didn't want operations.

(12:48):
I didn't want to solveoperational problems in the
plant, but I did want to workwith the people and inspire the
people and challenge the peopleand grow the people in all of
these roles and I love thataspect.
But the responsibility of theperformance of the plant is not
something I enjoyed and in a lotof those cases I felt like I

(13:11):
had to do all of those things inorder to do the things that I
love.
That was out of alignment.
There was so much resistance inme going to work every day.
There was so much resistance inme in going someplace that I
didn't want to go.
There was so much resistance inme in in just doing things that
didn't feel natural, thatdidn't feel, that didn't feel

(13:33):
encouraging, that didn't feelinspired.
It was like I was fightingmyself on a daily basis to try
to force myself to do thingsthat I'd rather not do, and
that's because I was out ofalignment when the wheels fell
off of my little corporatecharade and I lost two executive

(13:57):
level positions in about 20months and I decided to put this
thing back together.
I got the opportunity to sitdown and absolutely choose and
design and decide to create alife that was truly authentic,
that was truly powerful andtruly aligned with who I am and

(14:22):
what I want most in life, instead of compromising myself
and settling for this life thatwas built on insecurity and
inadequacy and insignificance, and I decided to choose a life
that was inspired and the wordis aligned Now my corporate role

(14:43):
.
The thing that I love the mostwas sitting in my office with
some of my employees, or anemployee, and trying to
understand what dream was inthem, trying to be expressed in
the world.
What did they love?
What lit them up, what excitedthem about their life, what
didn't excite them about theirlife?
And I wanted all I wanted to dowas, when they left my office,

(15:04):
I wanted them to be a higherlevel version of themselves and
I wanted them to see lifedifferently, and I wanted to
give them the possibility andthe hope of a greater future and
a greater tomorrow, of doingwhat they wanted to do instead
of what they were settling to do.
And sometimes this was themgraduating from my business, my
organization, and going out andspreading their wings in a more

(15:27):
freeing way, and I lost goodpeople this way.
But what I was trying to do isencourage them to live an
authentic, powerful, purposefuland aligned life.
That's what I enjoy the most, and when I started to choose my
new future, when I started tochoose my new destiny which was

(15:50):
just the destiny that I was bornwith it was all about that.
It was all about inspiring, encouraging and lifting up,
empowering other people to livea life true to themselves.
That felt good from the secondthey woke up to the time that
they went to bed and when I gotclear about this, what was

(16:13):
aligned for me, what would wakeme up excited every day, I
decided to never do anythingexcept that, ever again.
And now everything that I do isaligned with that.
I love writing content.
I've got a new book coming outover the summer.
I love recording this podcast.
I love creating courses.

(16:33):
I love teaching my mastermind.
I love my private clients.
I love my inner wealthcommunity.
I love getting up in front ofpeople and being on stage and
lighting their asses up so thatwhen they leave that room
they're going to freaking, goconquer life in their most
powerful, their most purposeful, their most intentional and

(16:55):
their most aligned life, becauseif they're not inspired by
their life, they've beencompromising life, and
compromise always leads todisempowerment.
One of the things that I takethe most pride in in the work

(17:15):
that I do with folks is I'vehelped people launch multiple,
multiple businesses, or I shouldsay many businesses.
I've helped many people launchmany businesses.
I helped.
I helped one of my studentscreate a travel business when
they love travel, and nowthey're now they're financing

(17:36):
their travel and their lifethrough their travel.
I've helped people.
I've helped people startphotography businesses when they
doubted if they could makemoney in photography.
I've helped people start realestate businesses when they had
a dream of real estate, everything in their soul,
sciences and their astrology andhuman design and gene keys said
that real estate was going tobe a great avenue for them.

(17:58):
But they were scared to jump onthe path.
And when they did, when Ihelped them jump on the path,
they blossomed and flourished.
I've helped people startmasterminds and I've helped
people start coaching inbusinesses because they were
born a coach.
It's not something that theydid, it was something that they
were.
It was in their body trying toget out.

(18:20):
I've helped people that had adesire and a dream and a passion
for being a comedian, astand-up comedian.
I helped them start to get upon stages to help.
They borrowed my trust.
They borrowed my courage.
They borrowed my confidenceuntil they had some of their own
.
They borrowed my courage.
They borrowed my confidenceuntil they had some of their own

(18:42):
.
No-transcript.
And there's nothing that's moresatisfying in my life than

(19:06):
helping people step into theiralignment, build or buy a
business that amplifies, thatexpresses and that fuels your
soul, instead of robbing yoursoul.
So many people are in careersthat suck the soul out of them.

(19:27):
So many people are in jobs thatjust suck their life force.
So many people are runningbusinesses that are just,
they're just depleting them.
And in an aligned life, if youare living in alignment,
everything that you do createsmore energy in your life instead

(19:49):
of depleting the energy orrobbing you of energy.
In an aligned life, everythingfeels like a fuck yes, not a
fuck no, and you honor your yesand you honor your no, and you
don't serve yourself up as asacrificial lamb to do things
that you don't want to do justbecause everybody else is doing

(20:11):
it.
When you step into youralignment, if it's not a fuck
yes, it is a fuck no, and if itis a no, somebody comes along
with an opportunity.
And if you get a no, then youstate no and you state your
truth because you are.
You are deciding to live inyour integrity, and that is
living in alignment with thedream that you were born, with,

(20:35):
the desires that you were born, with the talents that you were
born, with the genius that youwere born with, and you are
choosing to express that, andthat only.
I want to ask you this Do youknow what a full body yes is?
I want to ask you this Do youknow what a full body yes is?
What happens with me is if Ihave a choice whether to do

(21:00):
something or to not do something.
There's times where maybe,there's times where it's a no
and I can feel it.
It's like a no, no, thatdoesn't fit for me.
But there's a time, there aretimes where an opportunity is
presented, a path is presentedand an experience is presented,

(21:21):
a choice, a decision ispresented, and I get lit up from
head to toe and every cell ofmy body is saying yes, it's like
a full body, yes.
Cell of my body is saying yes,it's like a full body.
Yes.
That is what living frominspiration feels like.
It's only signing yourself upfor those things that give you
that full body, yes.
And if nothing gives you a fullbody, yes, then you don't take

(21:46):
action just for the sake oftaking action.
You live through your inspiredresponse and when it's go time,
you go.
But when it's not full body, yes, you withhold, you step back
, you restrain yourself and youwait for the thing that is a
full body, yes.
And when you're courageousenough in yourself, when you're

(22:11):
confident enough in yourself, when you're confident enough in
yourself, when you trustyourself enough to honor your
intuition because that's whatthat is when you're courageous
enough and you trust yourselfenough to honor your intuition,
you're going to see yourspiritual path, your spiritual
purpose is going to be able tounfold in your life and
opportunities that are perfectfor you will present themselves

(22:34):
to you.
And when you get that full body, yes, go.
But when you're not inspired inthat way, then you have the
courage and the confidence andthe trust in yourself to just
hold until that perfectopportunity comes along.
From the guy that I used to be,that was completely out of

(22:56):
alignment in my health, in myrelationships, in my business or
my professional career, to thisguy who wakes up and I know I
make a difference in the world,I'm expressing my talents, I'm
expressing my gifts, I'm living.
I say yes when I want to sayyes and know when I want to say
no.
And there are times where Istill confuse the two and I

(23:17):
still have to step back andrecover.
It's not a game of perfection,it's a game of learning, it's a
game of elevating, it's a gameof upgrading and constant
awareness, new levels ofself-awareness.
But as I continue to grow inthat dimension, everything in my
life gets better, and I'minviting you into this space.

(23:38):
If there's anything out ofobligation that you're doing, if
there's anything out of justinsecurity, inadequacy,
insignificance, if there'sanything that you're just doing,
that you're doing and you knowyou're compromising a piece of
yourself, I invite you to getinto a place of alignment and
rediscover the desires anddreams and talents and gifts,

(24:03):
skills, that genius that youwere born with, that purpose,
that mission.
Let's go rediscover that.
Let's go remember what you werehere, put on this planet, put
on this, in this material plane, what you were put here to do.
And I'll leave you with this Ifyou're on your path, you know

(24:27):
it.
And if you're not on your path, you might know it.
And if you're not on your path, you might know it, but if
you're on your path, you alwaysknow it.
So there's really no middleground.
If you're questioning whetheryou are on your aligned path,

(24:47):
you're not, and it's time to digdeeper and it's time to get to
know the real you.
And you can start by studyingsome of the soul sciences, and I
would encourage you to grab abook called the Life that you
Were Born to Live by Dan Millman.
It's numerology.
It'll help you understand yourlife path and it might just

(25:09):
crack you open just enough tolean in a little more to find
your authentic, purposeful, mostpowerful, intentional path, so
that you can become aligned withwho you were always meant to be
and who you were from the veryfirst inhale.
And when you feel that, whenyou really connect to your

(25:31):
deepest alignment, that's whenyou can begin to really live and
stop just trying to not die.
That's when every breath willbe a fullest expression of
yourself and that's what you'vealways been looking to
experience.
