In this episode, Mike gets brutally honest about the current season of life and business — and what it feels like when things aren’t clicking like they used to. With vulnerable reflection and zero ego protection, he shares how embarrassment surfaced, what it revealed about identity, and why surrendering to reality is the path to true peace. If you’ve ever been caught between who you thought you were and what life is actually showing you… this one’s for you.

Key Takeaways

  1. Teach From Messiness, Not Mastery
Real leadership is built in honesty. Vulnerability liberates the teacher and the listener.
  2. Embarrassment Is a Signal — Not a Shame
When you feel embarrassment, it's pointing to a false identity you’ve been clinging to.
  3. Identity Is Not Reality
Building a self-concept around outcomes is a trap — especially when those outcomes change.
  4. There Is No Winning a War With the Present Moment
Resistance creates suffering. Surrender creates peace, joy, and integrity.
  5. You Don’t Need It to Be Bigger — You Need It to Be Real
The soul doesn’t want quantity. It wants honesty, alignment, and service.

SPEAKER_00 (00:04):
You ever wake up feeling like there's something
missing in your life?
You ever feel the need to escapeyour business?
Are you running your life or isyour life running me?
I might get you want to help youdesign and create a life so
authentic and aligned with whoyou really are.
You'll get excited just to wakeup.
I'll help you create realwealth, accept some freedom from
the inside out.
Welcome to the Inner WealthPodcast, where we learn and

(00:27):
choose to live inspired each andevery day.
You know, I like to say that Iteach from messiness, not
mastery.
And what I mean by that is Ivery often I'll share exactly

(00:47):
the um the mess, the inner innerchallenge, the challenges, the
obstacles that I'm workingthrough.
So that for a couple of reasons.
One is it liberates me and andhelps me like express this stuff
that's happening.
It's almost like a an audiodiary.
But also, I do believe there's adeeper truth and a deeper

(01:10):
meaning.
It's that when when somebodyshares their their challenges
from a place of vulnerabilityand rawness and honesty, it
literally helps everyone elsefeel more normal, feel more
valuable, feel more worthy, because it invites other people
to uh to see themselves as a animperfect, uh, perfect creation,

(01:36):
just like everybody else.
See, we we are all imperfectlyperfect, all right?
And we do have challenges and wedo have obstacles, and no one
has it all figured out.
No one ever will have it allfigured out.
And as soon as I like to say,you know, dot my one of my uh
favorite spiritual teachers isDr.
Wayne Dyer, and he says, as soonas there's nothing more for you

(01:56):
to learn, and there's noadditional challenges or
obstacles in this world for youto navigate, to learn, to
integrate, then you will turninto pixie dust.
Like literally, the reason foryour life goes away, it
vanishes.
And I love that.
I love that.
What it what it helps us do islook at other people and say, as
long as they're in a meat suit,as long as they're as long as

(02:17):
they're breathing, then they'refacing challenges too.
It's not just me.
And when we when we share ourmessiness, when we share our
messiness, it helps everyoneelse both learn from our
challenges and obstacles, and weget to teach from that
perspective, but it helps bringus all together and unite us and

(02:40):
unify us and help other peopletrust each other and trust
themselves.
Trust themselves.
So um today I'm gonna teach froma messy place, some messiness
that I'm experiencing right now.
And this has been going on for afew months.
All right.
There was a time a few yearsago, the inner wealth mastermind

(03:00):
it built pretty quickly.
It built steadily, it builtquickly.
I was having these workshops.
I was what I would do is I wouldset up a uh a workshop, a
two-day choose your destiny liveintensive.
And there were a lot of eyes onme in the world, and my my uh my
following was growing regularlybecause I was showing up on more
stages.
And the season of my life wasjust things were clicking, all

(03:22):
right?
Things were clicking.
I would I would get invited tospeak on people's stages from
there.
I would invite them to thechoose your destiny live
intensive, or they would connectwith me on Facebook or or on
socials, and I'd make a post, and then from that post, I would
invite people into the chooseyour destiny live intensive.
And people would show up.
And when when we were at theintensive, the the people got so

(03:44):
enamored with the work and theenergy of the room that they
jumped into mastermind, and themastermind grew quickly.
All right, things were justclicking, like, and I'm snapping
my fingers.
If you can't hear that, I knowif you're watching this on
video, you're you're seeing it,but it things were just
clicking.
It was like all systems werejust go.
That was the season of my life, all right.

(04:08):
And we all know that seasonschange.
Now, I'm in a different season, and that season is yet to be
named, that season is yet to beidentified fully, but I could
say that things just aren't,they're not building as quickly.
There, there's not the momentumin business that I used to have.

(04:31):
And I know all the hustle whoresand grind gurus will say, just
work harder, work harder.
But listen, I'm doing all thethings and the momentum is just
not there.
I'm still recording the podcastepisodes.
I'm still I got a speakingengagement this week.
I uh gateway to freedom, by theway, g2free.com.
If you want, if you wantinformation about that, that uh

(04:54):
that event, g2free.com.
Come see me.
There's a two-day real estateinvesting uh event, and I'm the
final speaker of the second day.
But anyway, so still speakingengagements, still podcast
episodes, still holdingworkshops.
It's just things aren't flowingas quickly and as easily as they

(05:16):
as they were.
Now, am I confident that at oneday at some point they will
again?
Yes, I am, because seasonsexist.
Seasons of of fast, seasons ofslow, seasons of build, seasons
of dissolve, different seasonshappen.
Life is not linear.

(05:36):
When we expect everything to belinear all the time, we're gonna
be disappointed uh over 50% ofthe time, probably.
But right now I'm in a seasonwhere things aren't building as
as quickly.
And a few weeks ago, I launcheduh the Monkify Your Money game.
I had a great episode on here, Ibelieve it was episode 214 where

(05:57):
I explained to five financialarchetypes, and I launched the
Monkefy Your Money Game LiveIntensive.
It's a five week, uh, five-weekvirtual experience, actually not
a live intensive, but a virtualexperience, five weeks, powerful
teaching, powerful training.
And I've done these samecontainers before, most of them
four weeks, but these samecontainers and got you know 20

(06:22):
people, 15 to 20 people toregister for the for the the the
training, and it was awesome andit was it was valuable and it
was impactful.
The Innerwealth Global made somemoney on the front end.
We also had some additionalfollowers you know look at us,
uh look at us in in ourmastermind and and and in choose

(06:43):
your destiny uh live intensive.
So things things really clickedand things went well within the
the virtual containers.
And I launched the Monkefy YourMoney game.
Now, listen, to be honest, justfor full transparency, we we've
only got four people to registerright now.
And the Monkify Your Money gamestarts Monday, October 13th.
So it's just around the corner.

(07:05):
But to try to get more eyes onMonkify Your Money Game, the
container, the live intensive orthe virtual intensive, I
launched Monkefy Your MoneyGame, the webinar.
And that is actually that isactually today.
And by the time you listen tothis, that webinar will have
already been over.
Okay, because this webinar willwill law, or this episode will

(07:27):
launch the 9th, and today is the8th.
So the webinar is actuallytonight.
But there's 11 people that haveregistered for Monkana, Monkefy
your your uh money game webinar.
So I used to get 40, 50 peopleto register for a webinar.
Now the the vulnerability, thehonesty that I would love to

(07:53):
share, the messiness that Iwould love to share, like
frankly, I've been a littleembarrassed.
I've been a little embarrassed.
And I thought about cancelingthe webinar, I thought about
canceling the event becausethere was part of me that was
embarrassed.
And what I love is I love thiswork and I love getting inside

(08:14):
and understanding when thesethings come up, when this
resistance comes up, when theembarrassment comes up, when the
when the shame comes up, whenthe fear comes up, when the
anxiety, because it still showsup in me, right?
We're all messy human beings andwe all have this messiness to
clean up.
If as soon as the messiness isdone, then you'll turn into
pixie dust.
But started really reflecting totry to understand where the

(08:38):
embarrassment was coming in thatwas creating this thought, this
idea to cancel these twocontainers, where there's
actually people that areenrolled.
And and here's what I came upwith.
Embarrassment is it's shame.

(08:59):
Embarrassment is this connectdisconnect, not this connect,
the disconnect between yourreality and your identity.
Part of me that's stillidentified with that guy in the

(09:22):
season where everything clicked, everything built, and everything
came pretty easily andnaturally.
And I was still identified asthat guy.
I actually built an identity onthat guy, on those
circumstances, on thoseoutcomes.
I talk about how I've let go ofthe identity of an imposter.

(09:46):
I've let go of the identity ofsomeone who's broken.
I've let go of the identity ofyou know, of the old toxic,
abusive father and husband thatI used to be.
I've let go of these identities.
But what this embarrassment hashelped me realize is that I just
built a new identity based onsuccess, based on outcomes,

(10:08):
based on things that happenedoutside of me.
And years into my coachingbusiness, I built this identity
after when things started reallyclicking, I built this identity
on the circumstances that werehappening in my life and the
outcomes that were that werethere.

(10:29):
And that is a false identitybased on based on an identity,
not reality.
The reality is in this season,at this moment, at this juncture
in the life of Mike Kitko, things obviously haven't meant

(10:50):
to click as easily, aseffortlessly, and as yeah, just
as quickly as they did at thattime.
And I've had seasons that thingsbuilt quickly.
This isn't the first, this isn'tthe only season that I had where
things built quickly, but thisis just the latest.
And in a in a cyclical patternof life, I got attached to one

(11:16):
of the high peaks, one of thehigh points, and I built, I
built a a new identity of whoMike Kiko is based on that that
data point, that period of time.
I hope this is making sense.

(11:45):
That maybe it was reality then, but it is not reality now.
And that's where the shamekicked in, that's where the
embarrassment kicked in, becausethere is a there's a gap and
there's a disconnect between myidentity and reality.
And in an in a battle, in a in aconflict between identity and

(12:10):
reality, we can either keepdoubling and tripling down on
trying to make reality look likethis identity we've built, or we
get to let go of the identityand stay true, stay authentic,
stay aligned, stay in flow, andsurrender to the present moment

(12:33):
instead of trying to recreatethe world and make the world and
control the world and manipulatethe world and bend the world
into a reality that reflects ouridentity instead of letting go
of the identity that has createdthe conflict with reality.

(12:53):
And this is this is like someEckhart Tole work.
This is when he talks aboutbecoming present and
surrendering to the presentmoment.
This is what Eckert Tole istalking about.
And the embarrassment that I'vebeen experiencing, that I've
experienced, is just it's a it'sa signal flare.

(13:15):
It's a signal flare that thathas arrived to, you know, that's
in my body that I've felt andthat I've experienced.
It's a signal flare saying, hey, there's something out of
alignment with who we identifyas and what reality really is at
this current juncture in ourlife.

(13:35):
And this creates resistance tothe present moment.
So the embarrassment was thesignal that I was resisting the
present moment instead ofsurrendering to it and honoring
it, which creates joy, whichcreates peace, which creates
liberation.

(13:58):
Now listen, this is this isn'tto say that that we just give
up, that we just stop, that wejust stop taking action, that we
just stop looking to influencehigher-level circumstances.
That's not to say that.

(17:40):
And in this moment, in thisseason, where reality is showing
me that maybe it's time to slowdown, maybe it's time to to
throttle down a little bit, maybe it's time to to build a
different self-concept, maybeit's time to learn how to
surrender to the present moment.
Maybe it's maybe it's time tolet go of some unhealthy pride.

(18:04):
Maybe it's time to realize thatmy identity is not as I see it
and as it's been built.
But maybe maybe I'm I'm learningthat reality is my identity, not
this false narrative, this falseconcept that I've built inside

(18:26):
of my mind and my body.
Now, the nervous system, andthis has been week after week
that I've been doing episodes onthe nervous system.
The nervous system is giving mesignals of fight, flight, or
freeze that there's danger, orI'm gonna be seen as weak, or
I'm gonna be exposed, or whatare they gonna think of me?

(18:49):
And is maybe the the nervoussystem is trying to fear
judgment or trying to avoidjudgment.
But I I get to I get to let allof that go and surrender to
reality instead of instead oftry to protect these things and
do things that probably franklywould be dishonest in terms of

(19:14):
in terms of just quitting.
Not as much dishonest, but outof integrity with who I am, with
my core values, and with withwho I decided to be in any given
moment.
Listen, by the time you youread, or by the time you watch

(19:36):
or listen to this episode, thewebinar will already have been
gone.
It would already been executed, and the next thing in my life
will be Gateway to Freedom onSunday and the Monkefy Your
Money Game Five-week liveintensive on Monday.
But in both of these, there'sone thing I can commit to you.

(19:59):
I'm going to be in integrity,I'm going to be honest,
vulnerable, and real, and nottry to protect the nervous
system that's telling me thatthere's false danger, that fears
judgment, and that fears beingseen differently than I really
am.
And what I am is I live, I am alover of reality, and I'm a

(20:24):
lover of living in reality in astate of freedom.
And in order to do that, I gottalet go of any resistance to the
present moment perfection andand this concept that things
always need to be the way be theway I want them to be.

(20:49):
We can stay true to the thevision that we've created, but
we do not have to fight thepresent moment in order to make
that vision come true in theseason that it's meant to come
true.
And in a battle between myvision and reality in the

(21:10):
present moment, there's only joyin reality in the present
moment.
I hope this is making sense.
That's what I commit to you.
When I launch something likethis, when I launch something
like Monkify Your Money Game, the webinar or the live
intensive, I'm going to show upto teach and train whoever shows
up.
That's my commitment to you.

(21:31):
But please understand at thispoint, I don't have everything
figured out.
And that's why I teach frommessiness and not mastery.
I hope this episode has helpedyou let go of a self-concept
that is fighting the presentmoment.
And I helped, I hope it's helpedyou feel a little more normal in

(21:53):
your skin as we all live somesort of messiness.
But some people and most peopleare just trying to protect that
messiness and just show up asmasters.
I love you guys.
Thanks for listening.
Thanks for your ongoing supportin this uh on this podcast.
And I continue, I'll continue todouble down and triple down on

(22:14):
integrity and showing up real, raw, vulnerable, and always
being honest about where I am.
Right now, this season, I'mbeing taught to accept and
surrender, not to just keepgrowing in my outcomes and
circumstances.com for more toolsand resources.
