SPEAKER_01 (00:35):
This could be a
five-minute podcast episode.
It could be a 35-minute podcastepisode.
I don't know how long it's gonnago.
And and I know the directionwe're gonna go, and I know the
message that I've I have toshare, but I am in a season, and
you can you can probably hear uhmy voice if you're that familiar
(00:56):
with my voice.
I'm I'm congested, um nasally.
Uh the other day I woke up inthe middle of the night and I
was coughing, and it felt likemy lungs were literally on fire,
my chest was on fire, and uhsome sicknesses set in.
And that's part of the story ofwhy this might only be a
five-minute episode.
(01:17):
I don't know.
But let's talk first, let'slet's talk about this year.
This year has been a challengingyear.
Last year in 2024, we had it, wehad a great year.
It this um the business, it wasthe the best, uh, the best
revenue generating year the uhthat we've ever had, and it was
impactful and the the businessthrived and our students thrived
(01:40):
and and uh and 2025 has beenchallenging.
And uh I know a lot of I knowsome business owners that have
grown and expanded in 2025, butI also know a lot of people that
uh they they they startedshedding, and 2025 was the
Chinese zodiac year of thesnake, so it was a year of
shedding.
But you know, uh we're entering,we're going into a new year here
(02:03):
in the next month or so.
Um, and there's gonna be adifferent energy and a different
flavor.
But 2025, for all intents andpurposes, in in my experience
and in the experience of some ofthe people that I'm working
with, 2025, the energy of 2025was was very challenging.
And a lot of things that thatwere uh the whole point of the
(02:24):
year of the snake is is forthings that are no longer
aligned or things that haveexpired for them to peel away.
And I definitely see that.
Holy cow, it's been definitelybeen a year of shedding.
But when it back in August, I ifI look from August to early
(02:44):
November, we we I ran absolutelyhot.
So it started with my booklaunch, August 19th.
Then we immediately, which whichwas awesome, we had a great book
launch celebration, and and Igot I got awesome feedback on
the work.
And I I still see people sharingmy uh my book on on if you
(03:06):
haven't gotten a copy, um, InnerWorld, Outer World.
It's available on Amazon.
Uh, it's a fantastic book.
There's one of my friends, um,Joe Roney, said that uh it it
he's read hundreds of books andit's in his top three.
So that was a that was a hugehonor.
And Joe, if you're listening, brother, I love you, man.
I I I appreciate you, and I Ithank you for sharing me with uh
(03:27):
with your network and with yourworld.
But um we immediately went frombook launch to uh an intensive,
the uh the August uh choose yourdestiny live intensive.
And those things are, you know,it's first of all, it's two
days, but it's I I give a lot.
There's a lot of energy spent, there's a lot of uh a lot of
(03:49):
impact in the room, and and it'sbeen a it's a growth mechanism
for our our business, and andit's a way for people to come
and be introduced to my work andand our work and our business
and our community, and some ofmy mastermind students are
there, and and it it was it wasa great event in August.
It was a they keep gettingbetter every one, every
iteration.
And and in September, I flewdown to New Orleans to uh hang
(04:14):
out with uh with my friend Josh, and he had a a mastermind
meetup, and I got to uhparticipate in that with him,
and then I flew back and we wewent to uh we went to uh Park
City, Utah uh with ourmastermind, and we we went on a
retreat and it was awesome.
(04:34):
It was a fantastic event, and itwas just it's like in August
started this, it catalyzed justone opportunity, one experience
after another after another.
And it's like we would Angie andI would get back from somewhere,
and a couple days later we'repacking bags, going somewhere
(04:54):
else, or doing something else,or or having another event, or
whatever.
It was just from August 19thuntil probably the first week,
maybe, maybe somewhere aroundNovember 11th and 12th, I think
it was.
But somewhere in there or thattime period, we just ran hot and
fast and it was intense.
(05:17):
And that was a season in ourlife.
That was a season, it was awindow.
And after uh our in our our lastour November intensive, Angie
and I took some time and we wentdown to Cancun.
And when we when we uh we spentfive days down there to kind of
recover from the workshopbecause it's energy draining,
(05:38):
and which we hadn't done back inAugust.
And uh when we got back threedays later, we we flew with our
daughter to Baltimore, myhometown of my original hometown
of Baltimore, to to kind of hangout with our daughter.
She had never spent uh anysignificant time in Baltimore,
and we took her to some of ourfavorite places, and we took her
to a Ravens game on Thanksgivingnight, and it was just a great
(05:58):
experience.
But part of us when we were inCancun, you know, didn't want to
go to Baltimore, and part of usjust wanted to be home, just in,
you know, and we started gettingthe signals that we needed to
restore.
We started getting thosesignals.
We started not resisting, wejust what we we signed up or we
we kept going with what wesigned up for and what we had
(06:21):
agreed to, but we startedgetting these signals in our
bodies that that we needed torecover, that we needed some
time to restore, that we neededto, we were depleted and we
needed to go into recovery mode.
But we didn't immediately honorthat.
We went to Cancun, went toBaltimore, and when we came home
(06:42):
from Baltimore, it's almost likewe just completely downshifted.
And we went into almost likehibernation, where I still honor
some, you know, my mastermindmeetings, my mastermind sessions
and my community session, thoseon my calendar.
And I still have a few meetingssprinkled out throughout the
(07:04):
week and a few calls sprinkledout throughout the week.
But outside of things that thatare already on my calendar, it's
almost like I'm signing up fornothing else.
I am, and I have been in aperiod of restoration and
recovery.
And uh Angie and I almost likesailing into the end of the year
(07:26):
and and coasting.
And and look, it uh you guysknow if you've listened to this
for any period of time, I am nota grind guru in hustle whore.
I am not gonna want to be one ofthose guys that tell you, you
have to show up all the time.
It's the end of the year, finishstrong.
And and look, if that shitlights you up, that's awesome,
but that's definitely not whatI'm about.
(07:48):
And the people that I connectwith most uh deeply, you know,
they they don't they're notalways fighting life either.
Okay.
They they kind of go with theflow of life and surrender to
life and and and feel into theenergy of the season.
And that's that's what I reallywant to talk about.
Seasons.
Because from August 19th untilNovember 11th, 12th, that was a
(08:11):
season.
And right after that, there wasanother season that we were
embarking on, but we didn'timmediately honor it.
And now we're kind of I'm kindof paying the price for it, and
you can hear it in the sickness.
Listen, nature has cycles andnature has seasons.
(08:34):
And if you if you go out in themiddle of the summer and it's
hot, really hot in St.
Louis, it gets up to you know 95degrees and 95% humidity, and
it's sticky and muggy and thick.
And I love that.
That that's when that's when mybody thrives in that.
And you can go out in the middleof the summer when it's really,
(08:57):
really hot, and you can hate thesun.
And you can try as hard as youcan to make it go away and to
make it cool off, but it's notgonna work because that's kind
of what the summer is about.
That's what that season isabout.
It's about it's about heating upthe earth, heating up our
hemisphere.
(09:17):
Let's just let's say that.
And and in the winter, I'm not ahuge fan of really cold weather,
but in the winter, when it'sreally cold, and it's already
snowed, you know, six, seveninches here in the St.
Louis area, even this early inthe season.
But you you can go out in themiddle of winter when when it's
(09:40):
snowing and when it's cold, andyou can really hope and you can
really struggle mentally andemotionally to try to get the
sun to come out and heat up andbe warm, but it's not gonna work
because that's winter is aseason, and nature runs on
cycles and seasons.
Okay.
When you look at the weather andyou look at the seasons of our
(10:08):
our earth, there are fourprimary seasons.
There's spring, summer, fall, and winter, obviously.
But they each do somethingdifferent to the areas that it
impacts.
(10:29):
Spring is a time forrejuvenation, for planting
seeds, for tilling the soil, forfor making the earth again ready
to grow, to grow a harvest.
That's when farmers go out andand till the till the fields,
(10:54):
fertilize the fertilize theground.
This is when plants start to tobloom again.
This is when fat flowers startto start to grow again.
This is when the earthbeautifies, because it's been
dormant for the last few monthsfrom winter.
And that's what spring, that'swhat the season of spring is
about.
It's about preparing the earthand preparing everything and
(11:18):
planting seeds, knowing thatthose seeds are not immediately
going to grow, but they willgrow if we just prepare the soil
in a way that creates a healthyenvironment to grow.
And then as the earth continuesto heat up, we move into summer,
(11:40):
and the sun intensifies andpours heat and energy into the
world, and it creates almostlike a greenhouse where there's
moisture and there's humidityand there's temperate climates,
(12:01):
and there's a just the nurturingof those seeds, and and summer
is a time for patience, forgrowth, for things to expand,
things to grow, not quite yetready to be recognized and
(12:26):
harvested.
But you can start to see thesigns in the spring.
You can't always see the signsof growth because it's happening
under the surface.
But in the summer, you start tounderstand and you start to see
the evidence of things growingin your life, and throughout
summer, the growth happens, andthen that prepares the plants
(12:49):
for fall.
And fall is the time of harvest,it's the time for collecting and
making good on all the work bothyou and the earth has done over
the last two seasons.
And and you get to go in, youget to benefit from all of the
(13:11):
work, and you get to fill yourbushel baskets with with
vegetables, and you get to youget to really taste the fruit of
all your labor because the workis done and the rewards are are
reachable.
There you you can grasp them, you can you can hold them, you
can see them, you can tastethem, you can enjoy them.
(13:34):
And then we store some of thoseup for winter.
And then in the fall, thingsbegin to die, leaves start to
fall, colors change, the thevibrancy and the vitality of the
earth goes away, and the skiesstart to darken, and that turns
(13:58):
into winter, and then the sunloses its its immediate
intensity and heat, and you canstill see the sun, but the rays
of the sun are not as quite asintense because the earth is
cooling and and nothing grows inthe winter, but underneath the
(14:19):
soil, the earth is naturallypreparing itself for the next
cycle, naturally preparingitself for the next season.
Winter is a time for restorationand regeneration and rebirth and
and growth underneath in thefoundation of the soil.
(14:43):
And winter, even though it lookslike nothing's happening, a lot
is happening under the surface.
Because without winter, withoutthe cold, the fields won't be
ready next year to nurture thegrowth that is part of this the
(15:05):
natural seasons and cycles oflife.
And after winter, when the earthhas gone through a and soil has
gone through a regenerationprocess and a restoration
process, then it becomes springagain and the cycle starts
again.
And it becomes time for tillingthe fields and for planting
(15:25):
seeds so that the cycle resumes.
Guys, we're coming to the end of2025.
And my body and Angie's bodystarted shutting down somewhere
around mid-November.
Okay.
And I don't mean shutting downin an unhealthy way.
(15:46):
I'm talking about literally mybody started asking for a
downshift.
And in some cases, it's like youstart to fight it, unconsciously
fight it.
No, I've got to grow thebusiness.
No, I've got to add new clients.
No, I've got to do something.
And you know what?
2025 has been a year ofshedding, not of growth for me
(16:08):
and my business.
The Chinese zodiac, right?
The year of the snake.
And the only decision that I hadto make was do I honor the
natural cycles and seasons oflife and allow kind of winter to
set in?
Or do I try to fight it and turnwinter back into summer?
(16:33):
And this is ultimately why I gotsick, because I was fighting the
the current, I was fighting theseason, I was fighting nature,
and now I'm I'm fullysurrendering to the lesson.
It's time to time to let go.
It's time to just let the theearth cool to hibernate, to
(16:57):
restore, to regenerate, and toallow the next season to be the
beginning of growth.
As we go into the end of 2025,there's going to be a lot of
people talking about getting offto a fast start in 2026 or
finishing 2025 strong.
(17:17):
And what I what I wouldencourage you to do is don't
necessarily listen to what theyare telling you.
Listen to your intuition andyour in instincts and understand
what your body and what life isasking of you.
(17:40):
And I would also invite you tomake that a daily part of
everything that you do.
What is your soul?
What is your body?
What is your intuition?
And what is your life asking ofyou?
And check in from that place.
(18:03):
Don't get caught up in the inthe grind gurus and hustle
whores that think that lifeneeds to be fought, battled,
resisted.
And if you're not struggling, you're not doing it right.
Don't get caught up in that.
Whatever feels aligned for you,do it.
(18:24):
Whatever feels unaligned foryou, let it go and release it.
On the Interwealth Mastermindcall this morning, we talked
about goal setting and and whatgoal setting right now looks
like.
(19:10):
If you are built to set and tostrive for goals.
When I in the Choose YourDestiny Live Intensive, we do
some vision work.
And what we're doing with thevision work is to set a
direction for the course of ourlife.
Not an outcome to attain, butset an energetic direction for
(19:33):
our life so that we and our lifecan start moving that way.
But you know what?
At some point, and every once ina while, you have to check in
saying, I know where I want theenergy in my life going.
I know where I want thedirection of my life going.
But what is life asking from me?
(19:53):
And from the answer to thatquestion, you'll understand what
season you're in.
Okay?
Right now, at the end of 2025,if you're in a slowdown season,
honor it.
If you're in a speed up season, honor it.
And the way you know if you'rein this season is because it's
fulfilling, because there's noresistance, and because it
(20:14):
inspires you to act or to notact.
Always live from that level ofalignment because that's what
we're looking for.
We're looking for alignment withour design, with our purpose,
and with our ultimate soul'sdestiny.
Once you find that, you you canlet go of all the grind and the
(20:36):
hustle and align with yoursoul's natural instincts and
intuition.
It'll always take you in theright direction.
