Hello, and welcome inspired podcast community.
This is your new episode.
My name is Caroline, and my today's guest isJeremy Bishop.
And I'm so happy that he said yes to ourinterview.
How are you doing today?
All good.
Thank you.
Thank you for having me.
Glad to be here.
I'm honored by your presence today, and I wouldlike to introduce you, of course.
(01:32):
You are a personal branding and social mediaexpert.
You help influencers, entrepreneurs, andcreatives amplify their authority and drive
results.
With over a decade of experience, you haveworked with Netflix stars, realtors, artists,
and authors to scale their impact.
Welcome to the Inspired podcast, Jeremy Bishop.
(01:56):
Awesome.
Thank you so
much for your help.
My first question to you is social media islouder than ever.
What's the secret to cutting through the noiseand truly standing out?
The secret to cutting through the noise isactually a lot easier than people think.
(02:19):
So start by kind of getting rid of all ofthese, maybe, preconceived ideas about what
others tell you to do.
Okay?
Even what I'm gonna share with you right now,if it resonates with you, if you like it, try
and utilize it or take something that you like.
If you don't, okay, find another strategy.
(02:39):
But how to cut through the noise is simple.
The personal brand is about you, and it's aboutthe different aspects of you and your life.
Okay?
This includes your business, your personallife, maybe friends and family, your lifestyle,
okay, what you embody, what you like to do,what makes you you.
(03:06):
Right?
And so how to cut through the noise is to workon sharing more that is actually about you and
your business that's real, that's authentic, togive people a real insight into your social.
So I hope that gives you some good ideas tostart with.
Yes.
What a great answer.
(03:26):
Thank you so much because it sounds a littlebit contradictory that we have those strategies
out there, and everyone has listened to someoneelse's strategies and trying to apply this, and
it's not working most of the time.
So I was wondering, what am I doing wrong?
(03:48):
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's the question that everyone is constantlyasking themselves.
What am I doing wrong?
What am I doing wrong?
And so they start to search for some sort ofperfect solution or an answer to, a lot of the
times, a problem that's not really there.
(04:08):
Okay?
If you start with the right foundation, okay,if you start with quality, good initial
conditions, okay?
Asking yourself before you go on this brandjourney, before you go on this social media
journey, ask yourself, what do I really wantout of going through this process?
(04:33):
And if you ask yourself that question, a lot ofthe people I talk to, they tell me that they'd
like to build more relationships.
They'd like to better their businessconnections.
They'd like to impact their business.
Okay?
Which means, you know, sales, relationships, referral networks, credibility, established
(04:57):
name.
Okay.
So if that's the end result, well, let's startwith and stick with that idea the entire way
through.
Okay.
So before we start thinking about, well, howlong is my video supposed to be?
How many times a day should I post?
Should I start in the morning or the evening?
(05:19):
Okay.
All of these really technical, these technicalactions, just start with what's my real end
goal.
You know, as an example, if my end goal is tocreate some confidence and some trust with the
people that might look up my name, or maybe Imeet them at an event or I meet them as a
(05:41):
potential client, and maybe they just do alittle research.
Okay?
Well, if that's what I'd like, I want them tohave some more trust and confidence.
I'd probably start by just like you would inthe old days, I'd probably start by making sure
I have a quality business card.
Okay?
Something that when I share it with them, whether it's your Instagram or your LinkedIn
(06:05):
account or your Facebook or your YouTube orwhatever platform you're using, I would just
start by making sure you have a strong bio.
Okay.
Making sure you have some really clear imagesof who you are.
Okay.
Hopefully, enough to kind of share who you are, what you do, who you spend some time with,
(06:25):
maybe friends, family.
Okay?
And that is actually how to cut through thenoise.
The noise is everyone else that is so focusedon trying to make everyone believe them, and
they create, let's say, really, really editedcontent or completely focused on business
(06:52):
content only.
And they they forget that the reason that we wedo business with one another is because we end
up having some sort of a connection, and thatusually happens first.
Wow.
I never heard this before.
I mean, I was looking at I created a secondTikTok account last week because I thought my
(07:15):
first one is stuck, and it is stuck for 2 yearsnow.
The followers are not growing.
And the second one, guess what happened?
I was posting consistently every morning, everyevening, one video, and it has more views than
the first one.
(07:35):
It's a surprise.
Yes.
Okay.
I have another question for you.
Maybe we learn more about it.
Okay.
You've worked with some of the biggest names inentertainment and business.
What's one common mistake you see people makingwhen trying to build their brand?
(07:55):
Well, there are a few common mistakes, and itusually starts with having a lot of concern and
anxiety around the wrong end goal.
And so it's kind of exactly what we were justtalking about, which is making sure that you
(08:18):
have an end result that you are actuallyexcited to achieve.
Okay?
Yes.
So if we say, well, I just want to get moreviews on my video.
Okay.
If that's your goal, that's totally fine.
There's nothing wrong with that.
(08:38):
But if you ask yourself, is that really the isthat really the the most fulfilling end goal
that's going to impact my life is just somemore views on my video?
Okay.
But if the end goal is, you know, I'd like toadd an additional 20 quality contacts to my
(09:00):
network in the next one to two months.
Okay?
Or, you know, I'd like to have the credibilityon my social media so that I can start to speak
on stage, at entrepreneurial events or in anygiven space.
Okay?
(09:21):
Or I'd like to have credibility so that whenpeople come to my page, they say, wow.
Who is this person?
And they're curious and excited.
Or maybe it's just to give back and want toshare some impact.
Okay.
Many of my close friends, they just use theirbrand as a means to give insight into their own
(09:48):
life on a day-to-day basis running largebusinesses, companies, and everything from how
do they organize their day to what type oflifestyle activities and how do they organize
their time.
Right?
So you just have to start with what is the realend goal, and that actually solves a lot of the
(10:13):
stuff in the middle.
Okay.
All of these little things like again, I wantto post once a day.
The more ambitious you become about the realend result that you're looking for, you will
certainly start to kind of put the other piecesin place in the middle.
And, of course, we can talk about some of thosedetails as well.
But for most people, those little details arenot as important as the direction of their
(10:42):
journey and knowing where they're actuallygoing.
Wow.
I love that.
It sounds like reverse engineering.
You focus from the end result, and then youconnect the dots backwards as Steve Jobs said,
and you know exactly what to do today.
I think that's great.
That's good enough to yeah.
(11:04):
Yeah.
Another question for you.
If someone is starting from scratch today, what's the first step they should take to
create a brand that attracts real opportunity?
Yeah.
I would start by choosing one platform.
Okay?
Decide what platform you want to operate on anddecide that you'd like to actually invest a
(11:30):
significant amount of time over the next 1, 2,3, 4, 5 years and start on one platform.
Okay?
Don't try and pick 6 of them and do all of itat the same time.
I would recommend pick 1 or maybe 2.
Okay.
So as an example, we help our members buildtheir Instagram and their LinkedIn.
(11:52):
It's 2 platforms.
Okay?
And start by building your profile.
Start with the simple question of, if one of mypotential clients or my current clients, or
someone that, you know, it would be impactfulto your business, if they were to come to my
profile today, would they feel more confidentabout potentially doing something with me, a
(12:19):
project with me?
That's the question in the beginning.
Just like a great website, just like a greatoffice space, just like meeting someone for the
first time, the first impression.
And so how do you accomplish this?
Take one day, find a quality profile picturethat shows you clearly.
(12:40):
Okay?
Build a bio based on your job, your business, alittle bit about who you are, your mission
statement, what are you on the road toaccomplish, what would you like to do, and
maybe a website, something where people canlearn more, or a contact, your email, or your
(13:00):
phone number.
And then go down to your profile, whether it'sLinkedIn or Instagram or YouTube, etc., and
start getting your first one, five, 10, 15, 20pieces of content onto the profile.
And those photos on, as an example, onInstagram, is very simple.
In fact, most of us have better content in ouriPhone than we realize.
(13:24):
So you'll hear a lot of the times, well, I needto hire a photographer, and I need to go hire a
content team, and I've been meaning to do that.
Look.
Most of us have a quality five, 10, 20, 30, 40,some of us, thousands of photos of all of the
things we do in our life on a day-to-day basis, weekly basis, yearly basis, and these photos
(13:46):
are amazing, and people overlook them.
And it could be a simple photo of you with apartner, you with a business partner, you at
the office, at that networking event youattended.
Okay.
The list goes on and on.
So I want you to just simply go into your photoalbum, put a heart next to all of the clear,
(14:08):
quality images of you in these differentaspects of your life, and start uploading them
onto social.
And by the end of the day, within a few hours, you could have a profile that you or I would
deem a confident, good foundation for apersonal brand.
(14:28):
It is really that simple to start.
That sounds amazing.
That has to be to, that has to do with beingcourageous as well because when you start, you
don't want to show yourself on social media.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think.
Okay.
Then tell me, where can we find you when peoplewant to reach out to you after listening to
(14:53):
this episode?
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Well, hopefully, our team has shared a link ortwo to Influencer Club case studies and
examples of different members.
And if anything, I would encourage anyone wholistens to this to just take a look at all of
the other members that have gone through thisjourney with us because every one of them had
(15:18):
these questions that you have asked me today inthe beginning.
So you might see these superstars now.
Okay?
You might see these incredible brands andreally confident-looking people.
I promise you, they were all curious, how do Iget my name out there?
How do I put myself out there in a confidentway?
(15:41):
Everyone goes through that process.
So, but from that page, you could book a callwith our team if you'd like to speak with one
of our, our, our strategists and have a quickconsultation, look over your brand.
So I'd be happy for anybody that wants to reachout.
We'd be happy to take care of you.
Oh, I love it.
(16:01):
Thank you so much.
I follow you everywhere.
Please reach out to Jeremy.
He's amazing.
Yes.
And I put the links in the show notes, ofcourse.
I have another question for you.
It is about your goals and intentions.
You set goals for yourself.
You mentioned it already.
And what is one of your next projects?
(16:24):
Yeah.
It's a great question.
So one of our next projects is when one of ourmembers becomes a really strong brand and
creates a strong brand with us, there tends tobe an upper echelon new level of opportunity
that presents itself.
And so we're in the process of creating largerpartnerships and more curated opportunities for
(16:51):
our members once they reach this stage in theirbrand journey.
So that's one project that we're really excitedabout.
And my intention has been and continues to behelping individuals, business owners,
entrepreneurs.
We have a lot of our members in the real estatespace now.
(17:15):
Help them build and find a confident messageand actually make an impact, right, and impact
others so they can impact their business.
Right?
And so that's kind of always been the main goalis helping others create a strong message
through social, through their brand, and findand become confident in their shoes.
(17:39):
Right?
It's not really about one person trying tobecome another.
Okay?
They want to become the individual at a higherlevel.
Yes.
I understand.
So it's about removing everything that's notthe person.
Yes.
Yes.
Yeah.
(18:00):
Instead of adding more stuff that we don'tneed, like strategies of other people, that
don't work for us.
Thank you so much for sharing.
I really enjoyed this interview today.
Now it's time for your final thoughts to theaudience, please.
Final thoughts.
(18:21):
I think that taking a step today and buildingyour confidence, just 1%, is so worth it.
And you won't know how valuable the photos, thecontent, and, basically, the things that you
already have access to.
(18:42):
You won't know how to find the purpose to justshare it and start getting out there.
And so, you know, the reason that most of usare scared to put ourselves out there is
because the end goal is not strong enough.
(19:02):
And so if views and likes and kind of justshallow judgment, if that's the only goal that
we have, it's going to be really tough to putyourself out there further.
But if my goal is, I hope that one person hearsthis podcast and they take one step forward and
(19:25):
the domino effect kicks in.
Okay?
If that's my end goal, now I know.
I'm gonna find the confidence and the strengthto show up on the podcast, share my story,
answer questions, go on social media, moveforward.
And I promise you, don't worry about whatanyone has to say in any negative light.
You're looking for positive feedback.
(19:47):
And I promise you, the more that you putyourself out there, the more you'll allow
yourself to find it.
What a great statement to close this episodewith.
Thank you so much.
I'm inspired now and encouraged to show up moreoften on social media.
