Jesus came up to a dude who had been lame for 38 years, and asked, “Do you want to get well?” Obviously someone in pain, physical, mental or emotional wants to get well, right? But do they? Do we? I always thought this was a strange question until I encountered it on a very personal level. Could it be that we are not truly ready to get well if it means laying aside the labels we have carried for so long? Who am I if I’m not (fill in the blank)?
