Dr. James Mellon (00:00):
The title of
my little section here today is
this what Does it All Mean?
When I started in ministry, inreligious science ministry, I
knew what it all meant because Ihad a book called the Science
of Mind and Spirit and Robbiewas there on the very first
night.
Yeah, mine's going to be short, you can stay.
Yeah, you don't have to go sitthere, you can sit right here,
(00:23):
but, robbie, you were there thatnight.
The first night I stood up as aminister and started this
church, which was 20 somethingyears ago.
But I knew what I was talkingabout because I had the book and
I was teaching Ernest Holmesand it was very simple.
It was very simple.
Now I don't know what I'mtalking about Now.
I don't know what I'm talkingabout Seriously, and I'm good
(00:45):
with that, because it's changing, it keeps changing and you know
what Ernest Holmes said.
If you're still teaching what Iwrote 50 years ago now it's 100
years ago then you missed thepoint of what I was saying.
And so when I get to this pointin my life, I would have
(01:08):
thought I was at this reallycool place where I had it all
figured out.
I had my life figured out, Ihad my love figured out, I had
my family figured out, I hadlife itself figured out.
I was an expert, I understoodscience of mind and I was like
and now I know nothing, what canI know?
Because I get it, I really getit.
(01:32):
This is a live teaching.
This is a movement of energy.
This is a constant momentum ofmore and more and more.
So this week I teach advancedconsciousness.
This is advanced consciousnesstwo.
I'm looking forward to advancedconsciousness 30, seeing where
(01:52):
we get to there.
But this is only advancedconsciousness two.
But this week was really, reallyinteresting for me.
I went into we're reading abook called the Quantum Enigma
and the idea of the QuantumEnigmaigma, the enigma about the
quantum, is that you areresponsible for the life you are
living based on where you putyour focus.
(02:13):
That, in this thing called theobserver effect, where you focus
your mind, sends your life inthat trajectory, that direction.
It's pretty simple, sends yourlife in that trajectory, that
direction.
It's pretty simple, it's simple.
But it's an enigma.
Because if that's true, thenhow is life unfolding perfectly?
Is life waiting for you to sendit off?
(02:37):
Or is life happening all on itsown?
But you're taking what life isdoing and focusing it somewhere
where you decide to go, and canall of this happen at the same
time?
It is a freaking enigma, whichis why it's called the quantum
enigma.
(02:57):
So this week we were talkingabout the quantum enigma.
We were getting to the point ofhow is life right now and how
is Easter and Christmas andHanukkah and Passover, all the
things that we've celebrated, all of the events that we've
been taught about, all theevents we've lived through?
(03:18):
How has all of that shaped whowe are?
And is it shaping who we are ata point where we can't change
it?
Is it just?
This is what's happening.
Get with the program.
So one of the first questions, one of the first quotes that I
want to show you today, is thisInterference is central to the
(03:39):
quantum theory and to thequantum enigma Interference
theory and to the quantum enigmaInterference.
Anybody feeling any interferenceright now in their life?
Yeah, we live in interference.
The whole idea of energy isthat these vibrations are
constantly moving andinterfering with one another.
Cells are bouncing off eachother, photons and neutrons,
(04:02):
everything that's going onunderneath the surface of
everything that's going on.
Yet we focus on this out hereand we're being told by science
that when we focus on this outhere, we are creating more of
this out here, and so I'll dothis move all day because,
(04:23):
frankly, that's what we're alldoing.
We're just doing this.
There, it is up, there it isagain, and then I could do that
for a long time.
We're just constantly, we'relike gerbils, going around and
around in our wheels, creatingthe same old, same old, same old
, same old and thinking thatwe're just reacting to it same
(04:44):
old, same old and thinking thatwe're just reacting to it.
Well, guess what?
We're not actually reacting toit, we're actually creating it.
Next quote Quantum theory tellsus that the reality of the
physical world depends somehowon our observation of it.
So I have a question for youtoday, another question for you
today, which is this what haveyou been observing in your world
(05:07):
right now?
What have you been observing inthe life you're living right
now?
And I'm not just talking aboutpolitics, to be very clear.
I'm talking about your life, but your life as it applies to
what's going on in the worldaround us.
You know, in the quantumunderstanding of life, I am the
(05:28):
malnutritioned baby in Ghana.
I am that baby.
I don't just know about thatbaby.
I am that baby.
I am the mother trying toprotect her daughter in the Gaza
Strip.
I don't just hear about it orsee it on the news.
I am that We've lost that.
(05:53):
We have lost that understandingof who we are as a people.
When we look at Passover and wetalk about the Pharaoh Moses
being able to take the Jews outof Egypt to freedom but for 40
years they walked the desert, from desert to oasis to desert
to oasis we're all doing thesame thing we are observing and
(06:18):
then creating again.
Albert Einstein said this youcan't solve a problem on the
same level that it was created.
You have to rise above it tothe next level.
The question becomes what isthe next level?
And my question I wrote thisdown when are we going to stop
(06:39):
wandering the desert?
And no, 40 years is up, we'relike a thousand years, right.
So when are we going to stopwandering the desert, finding
oases and yet walking away andgoing to another desert Because
we're more used to the desert?
When are we going to startrealizing that it's really the
journey that it's all about andthat we're creating the journey?
(07:04):
As we go, we're creating thedesert, we're creating the oasis
.
When we use our minds reallywell.
We're creating the good, thebad, the indifferent, all the
realities we have.
We're creating all of it, soyou have to rise above it to the
next level.
So 15 years ago, on an Easter, Iwas given the on Good Friday.
(07:28):
Actually, good Friday hasalways been an interesting day
for me, because it was only GoodFriday when I was in seventh
grade, that I flunked geography, history and science
simultaneously and that theythought it was a good idea to
give the report cards out onGood Friday so that by the time
I got home, I would experiencethe same thing Jesus did on Good
Friday, as I handed my reportcard to my parents.
(07:51):
If I did I don't remember if Idid On Good Friday in 2010, I
was told that I had stage fourcancer.
Now, that was Good Friday, soEaster Sunday was coming, but on
Monday I was going to be insurgery where they were going to
take all of everything theycould out of the right side of
my neck.
And so I'm like and Kevinwasn't with me when they told me
(08:16):
I had stage four cancer, because I we just didn't think
it was anything.
I was like, oh, it was just,it's nothing.
And then they tell you.
So I drove home.
I'm thinking, wow, interesting, stage four cancer, there's no
stage five.
So I guess this is a problem.
And since they told me you'rein surgery Monday because it has
to go now, they basically saidby August you'll be gone if we
(08:37):
don't handle this.
That was March.
So and now I'm thinking what'smy Easter talk going to be like
on this year's Easter?
And so I titled my talk RiseAbove it.
And I thought this is going tobe difficult.
How do I do this?
Because as soon as I say I havestage four cancer, I am going
to hear.
(08:58):
No one's going to hear anythingelse, it's just going to be.
So I made up this thing and Iknow most of you know this.
I made up this thing and I knowmost of you know this.
I made up a talk called I Met aman.
So I told them about this man Imet as though it weren't me,
and I tell them this whole storyand they're just sitting there
listening to it.
It's like, yeah, well,interesting week you've had.
And then I said at the end andI don't want you to feel like
(09:20):
I've deceived you, but that manis me At which point the gasps
and the.
You know it was crazy.
It was really crazy, the shockwaves, and I was like that's
exactly why I didn't tell you.
I wanted you to see thedifference in how you understood
it so clearly as a principle.
You understood the principle soclearly that I, as the minister
(09:42):
of this man, knew that he wouldrise above it and that his mind
would heal his body.
You all believed that until itwas me.
Now your fear got in the way ofwhat you believed.
The beginning of that song saysMany nights we prayed, with no
(10:04):
proof anyone could hear.
We are in a science now wherethere's no proof that anyone is
listening, because we don'tbelieve in that God.
But something's listening, something hears, something knows
.
It's you, it's me, it's who weare.
So the following week after myoperation I had to go back to
(10:24):
the doctor's office and Ihaven't told this story much.
I don't know that you've heardthis.
I went back into the doctor'soffice and Dr Alessi, I was
sitting in the chair and he waschecking the scar and he said
can you wait here for a minutebecause I want someone to meet
you?
And this little black womancomes in.
She's probably in her 90s andher whole neck was gone, half of
(10:46):
her neck.
She had had the same thing Ihad.
And she walked in and she justlooked at me and she went rise
above it.
I was a little taken back atfirst.
I was like are we about to do aBaptist revival here?
And she was like rise above it.
And David went.
I told her what your talk wason Sunday and I just started to
(11:18):
cry, as I am right now, and shewas like thank you, I am going
to rise above all of this.
And I just sat there and I'mlooking at her and I got up.
She gave me a hug and she andI'm looking at her and I got up.
She gave me a hug and there wasnothing to her, she was just
this.
And she passed away a few weekslater and David told me.
He said she passed away and Iin that moment, because I was
(11:39):
just starting my journey ofchemo and radiation and what it
was going to take to get throughall of this and he said you
really helped her.
This is how she rose above it.
She was done, she didn't wantto be in this body anymore.
She didn't want.
He said she rose above it and Iwas like ah.
So when I told Kevin I wasgoing to talk about this because
(12:05):
I don't.
So when I told Kevin I wasgoing to talk about this because
I don't talk about this muchanymore, because I don't need to
focus on that, it happened,it's done, I did well and I
don't need to learn that wayanymore.
But what I have understood isthat we're doing the same thing
here in our world right now.
There's a lot going on in theworld that many of us are having
(12:27):
a hard time with, and this isnot about politics.
Of which side are you on?
Because, frankly, there shouldnever be sides.
That's the first thing we needto deal with.
But we're having a problem.
Many people if I have 10 peoplea day call me for counseling on
what's going on in the world.
That's a small day and I getthat, but what I'm really
(12:51):
getting now is the idea of wehave to rise above it.
We cannot, as Albert Einsteinsays, we cannot solve the
problems we have from theconsciousness of what we're
believing.
We cannot.
The Jews would never havegotten through it all if they
just stayed in the desertwaiting and constantly looking
(13:14):
at what's going on.
You're right when you talkabout the Passover service.
As a kid it's like why are wedoing this?
Why do we keep looking?
We have to remember where wecame from and then forget where
we came from and startremembering who we are.
That's why that's so important.
(13:35):
We have to be willing to seeeverything that's out there.
That's why I started today withwhat do you believe and what do
you stand for?
And what does it mean to standfor something and to close, the
only thing any of us need tostand for is love only.
Does that mean you put yourhead in the ground and you don't
(13:56):
speak up when you see somethingthat needs to be spoken out
against?
Not at all, but you don't speakagainst it.
You speak from truth.
You speak from love and youstill love everyone and
everything.
As you speak, your truth that'srising above it.
So this talk I gave 15 years ago, when I wasn't you know what I
(14:20):
was just going to say, when Iwasn't sure if I was going to
live, I was very sure I was notlosing my hair and I wasn't
going to die those two things Iwas clear about.
My doctor said I should havebeen clear about nausea Didn't
happen.
So I am clear that the more Ilet my hamster self keep looking
(14:45):
at what's going on from a placeof fear, doubt, worry, judgment
, hatred, anger, the more I dothat, the more I'm going to be
caught in choreography that Iwould never give an actor to do.
That's the truth.
But if I can rise above it,like I did with cancer, if I can
(15:08):
really rise above it, know thetruth, as Audrey said this
morning, that life is unfoldingperfectly.
What's the rest of the words?
No matter what, you arecreating the world you live in
you are creating this world.
The way you observe it createsit.
So it's time to start creatinga new world, wouldn't you say?
(15:31):
Start creating the world youwant to live in, instead of
belittling the world you thinkyou live in, because the world
you think you live in youcreated to begin with, so create
a better one.
Namaste.
