The question of the day is whatartist puts on the best live
(01:09):
show?
What artist, singer or bandputs on the best live show?
Tiffany Mason (01:17):
I know who I'm
going to say.
Jay Franze (01:20):
Let's wait until a
little later in the show.
If you would like to join in toour shenanigans, please go
ahead and put your responses inthe comments section and we will
read those off a little laterin the show.
All right, my friend, last weekwe discussed Miss Taylor Swift
and her engagement, so sincethen, I don't know if you can
(01:40):
believe this, but people keeptalking about it.
Really so I would like to dojust a quick little follow-up.
Tiffany Mason (01:48):
Okay.
Jay Franze (01:49):
Not spend as much
time as we did last week, but
just a quick little follow-up.
I saw an article that said the13, 13, that number seems to be
important to Ms Swift.
Mm-hmm Soon to be Ms Kelsey, the 13 artists that should play
at her wedding.
So I thought we would go overthose and just see what we think
(02:12):
of it all right, let's see whatthey thought all right,
starting off again.
Don't know if it's in anyparticular order, I'm just going
to run down doesn't matter tous doesn't matter to us, we just
do what we like.
First one Kane Brown.
Tiffany Mason (02:30):
Hmm, okay, and
are they giving reasons why?
Jay Franze (02:34):
Oh, I hate you.
Yes, they are giving reasonswhy.
Why don't I read them to you?
Tony Scott (02:39):
Okay.
Jay Franze (02:41):
It says.
Swift was at the tight enduniversity event for her fiance
that he held in Nashville, andKane Brown took her up on stage
and she joined him in singingShake it Off.
It is only fair that we have arepeat.
Tiffany Mason (03:01):
Okay, he's got a
couple of good songs I could see
him singing.
Okay, he's got a couple goodsongs I could see him singing.
I'm sure that she can relate toHomesick Heaven, but they're
all about him being in love withhis wife.
Jay Franze (03:12):
All right, next one.
Tiffany Mason (03:16):
Colby Calais.
Okay, doesn't seem like thatgreat of an option.
Jay Franze (03:21):
Well, it says, in
2007 she released her album Coco
.
I purchased that album at thattime, and that album found its
way into the hands of MissTaylor Swift, who quickly became
a fan Because of that.
Tony Scott (03:37):
Miss.
Jay Franze (03:37):
Calais participated
in the writing of the Fearless
album.
Tiffany Mason (03:42):
Oh, wow, and they
sang together on the song.
Jay Franze (03:52):
breathe, okay, okay
definitely some connection there
.
I can see that one.
Yeah, I like it not bad.
It's better than the conspiracytheories.
This one's funny Luke Combs.
It is funny because shecompletely upstaged Luke Combs
(04:13):
at the Titan University event, left him standing there with a
drink in his hand when she wascalled up on stage to sing Shake
it Off.
Tiffany Mason (04:21):
Oh, I don't think
that's yeah.
Jay Franze (04:26):
A little bit of
payback is what they're saying
no, no all right, sorry, lukeyou're out.
Tiffany Mason (04:34):
Oh, I don't like
this one I don't think he felt
that slighted that she gotcalled up on stage you don't
think so no and who knows, maybehe got called up as well.
Maybe he did, maybe he had hisown moment.
Jay Franze (04:46):
We don't know, we
weren't there.
Tiffany Mason (04:48):
We weren't there.
No, he invited us.
Travis, I don't know.
I don't know Travis, travisjfrenzycom.
Jay Franze (04:54):
Get on here and tell
us.
We know you're watching, Allright.
The next one not my favorite, but the chicks okay says here
that swift was going through alot when she was putting
together the lover album withher mother battling cancer and
other things so she enlisted thechicks for her song.
(05:15):
Soon you'll get better ah allright.
Next, luke bryan.
While touring on the Red Tour, swift made stops in Nashville.
All three were sold out.
She gave the crowd what theywere looking for.
One of the country's standoutswas when she brought Luke Bryan
on stage and they sang a duet of.
(05:37):
I Don't Want this Night To End.
Tiffany Mason (05:41):
No, no.
I think that because she's sucha good lyricist and because she
has these deeper connectionsWith these other artists, I
don't think that that's gonnaTrump.
Jay Franze (05:55):
So you're taking
Luke Combs out of the picture?
Tiffany Mason (05:57):
I mean Luke Bryan
out of the picture Luke Bryan
and Luke Combs.
Goodbye, sorry, guys.
Jay Franze (06:02):
I would have kept
both of you.
I would have kept both of youover some of these others.
But you know, hey, I get it.
Maren Morse, yes, maren Morse, just because I like her.
Tiffany Mason (06:14):
yes, she should
sing another one.
You're saying yes already.
Jay Franze (06:16):
I like Luke Bryan.
We didn't just blanket say yesto Luke.
As a matter of fact, I let youfire him.
Tiffany Mason (06:24):
That's on you,
bro.
You got to speak up.
I see how it is you got to getyour kahunis in a bunch and
throw your weight around.
Jay Franze (06:35):
You know what I'm
saying.
Tiffany, you're fired.
Let's just start there, that'sall right.
Moving on Sugarland.
Sugarland and Taylor Swift havea great history between them.
They go way back.
In fact.
Swift co-wrote the song babewith pat from train chris
(06:59):
stapleton there are very fewartists, both in and out of
country music, who are not fansof chris stapleton he's got a
voice that's smooth as tennesseewhiskey I was gonna say it's
not smooth yeah, it's a littlegravelly.
Tiffany Mason (07:17):
Yeah, which is
better?
Than smooth, yeah in my opinion, yeah, in my opinion.
Jay Franze (07:24):
Yeah, keith Urban,
we love Keith.
Tiffany Mason (07:26):
Urban.
Yes, billie Jo Jones, she saidthat she would pay money to see
him perform.
Even after she had done theroad with him, she would still
pay money to go see him frontrow.
Jay Franze (07:37):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (07:38):
So if I'm having
a wedding and I'm having someone
stand it, I want someoneentertaining.
Jay Franze (07:44):
I like Keith Urban.
Tiffany Mason (07:45):
Yeah, he might
get the gig.
Plus, he's got that cuteAustralian accent.
Jay Franze (07:50):
Yeah, but he doesn't
when he sings.
Tiffany Mason (07:52):
No, but when he's
like talking to the guests and
stuff.
Jay Franze (07:54):
We're not going to
allow him to talk.
He's going to be the helpRascal Flats.
Tiffany Mason (08:03):
Yeah, really.
Jay Franze (08:05):
Yeah, I'm a big fan
of joe don, but no, I don't
think so okay.
Tiffany Mason (08:09):
Well, we were
talking about god bless the
broken road on the last episodeas being a party song.
We didn't think it was a partysong, but we did say it was a
good song yeah, still it'd be agood one to dance to for couples
okay, we're gonna slow thingsdown, not gonna select you okay,
fine, he's out there out he's agreat guy, though.
Jay Franze (08:30):
All right, rascal
flats.
How could we not see rascalflats perform at swiss wedding?
Tiffany Mason (08:37):
really, that's
gonna be the opening line I feel
like it's kind of a good choice.
Jay Franze (08:43):
Not only do they
have some beautiful songs, but
they capture the big day of love.
Tiffany Mason (08:49):
Yes, yes, ooh.
Jay Franze (08:53):
Faith Hill.
Ooh, the only reason why I'msaying ooh is because there's a
picture and if I saw the pictureI would not have guessed Faith
Hill.
She looks entirely different.
Tiffany Mason (09:09):
Really, I will be
the judge.
I'm going to look her up.
Jay Franze (09:13):
Okay, you look it up
.
Tiffany Mason (09:15):
Yeah, Faith
Hill's looking a little rough.
Jay Franze (09:17):
She did not maintain
well, no, I did not say that,
faith, I said you just lookdifferent, tiffany.
At jfrenzycomcom faith if youwant to talk about the change in
appearance come on, jfranzycom,if we're gonna go with faith,
(09:37):
apparently the next one has tobe tim tim mcgraw.
Tiffany Mason (09:42):
When you think,
tim McGraw, I hope you think my
favorite song.
Jay Franze (09:45):
That's the only
reason why I would think Tim.
Tiffany Mason (09:48):
Yeah.
Jay Franze (09:49):
Come on, this one is
a no-brainer.
If you've been a fan of Swiftfrom the beginning, you know
that she's singing about Tim inher lyrics.
Tiffany Mason (10:00):
Well, when she
says if you think, Tim McGraw.
Jay Franze (10:05):
What's the name of
that song?
Tiffany Mason (10:07):
Tim McGraw.
Jay Franze (10:10):
Guess that would
make sense oh dear God, really
so.
If we made the connection fromFaith Hill easily made the
transition into Tim McGraw, who's the next person on the
list.
Tiffany Mason (10:26):
It's a lot of
pressure.
Jay Franze (10:29):
It's not a trick
question.
It's as easy as it comes.
Tiffany Mason (10:34):
I don't know.
It's Kenny Chesney Faith.
Jay Franze (10:39):
Tim Kenny.
Tiffany Mason (10:40):
Kenny Got it.
Jay Franze (10:42):
But they have a
reason for it.
Tiffany Mason (10:43):
Okay, and.
Jay Franze (10:44):
Kenny is also the
last person on the list.
Tiffany Mason (10:47):
Let me be
judgmental.
Jay Franze (10:48):
Be judgmental.
Kenny Chesney has always had anaffinity for Swift.
The two formed a long-standingfriendship when she was just
getting her career started incountry music.
In fact, he met her before sheeven signed a record deal.
Tiffany Mason (11:07):
Well, knowing
that they have a long history,
he does have some really funmusic.
I guess it depends on where thereception is or where the
wedding is.
We don't know these details yet.
Jay Franze (11:16):
I don't know if it
matters, I mean if they are
truly longstanding friendsbefore her career even took off.
Tiffany Mason (11:22):
This seems like a
no-brainer.
Jay Franze (11:24):
I'm okay with that
one major you know who's not on
this list.
It should be if we're going togo back to the beginning of her
career before she signed herrecord label yes, vaughn ray
yeah she got up on stage and andsang with vaughn ray oh, okay,
okay when she was a youngin shewas just starting out when she
(11:44):
was a spring chicken she was.
She was a young and pictures ofher.
I think I've got it up on myinstagram page.
If I don't, I'll put it upthere, but there's a picture of
her sitting in with fawn ray andshe looks tiny and young and so
I mean they obviously go wayback gave her the opportunity to
(12:04):
share the stage when theydidn't have to.
Tiffany Mason (12:07):
Mm-hmm, yep,
pretty cool.
That's why they're pretty radpeople.
Jay Franze (12:10):
So the people who
made this list they left off Von
Ray.
I'm sure Taylor would not leavethem off.
I'm sure that would be herfirst call.
Tiffany Mason (12:18):
Probably you guys
heard it here first Von Ray is
going to be singing at TaylorSwift's wedding.
Jay Franze (12:27):
Oh, dear, god.
Tiffany Mason (12:28):
It was funny
because I was watching a news
segment and they were doing likean interview, like a morning
diner interview.
They had like a marquee inside, though, and it said Taylor,
book us for your wedding.
And it was literally like theday or two after the
announcement of their engagement.
So I thought that was prettyclever.
There's been all kinds ofclever little things everywhere
(12:49):
where people are playing off ofthe engagement.
Jay Franze (12:53):
I have a feeling
there's going to be a lot of
that going on.
Tiffany Mason (12:56):
Yeah, a lot, a
lot.
I just hope that we get goodpictures at the wedding.
I do want to see, we will.
Jay Franze (13:02):
I mean, I don't know
if our table will be right up
front, but we'll get well, bigmachine records.
Tiffany Mason (13:10):
They are
celebrating 20 years in
nashville.
Rascal flats reunited for lifeas a highway, and riley green,
carly pierce, cheryl crow theybrought cross-generational
fireworks, all drawing over ahundred000 fans, to Lower
Broadway.
100,000 people, if I remember.
(13:31):
Right.
That's the kind of thing thatyou like, right, jay?
Like a big crowd.
Jay Franze (13:35):
Yeah, that's how
many people we had at our last
live performance of the show.
Tiffany Mason (13:38):
Yeah, yeah,
that's true, that's true, so we
know what that's like.
Jay Franze (13:41):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (13:42):
Okay.
Jay Franze (13:46):
Rascal Flatts.
They said they reunited.
Reunited for this, which islike a one-off show, but they
had a farewell tour planned whencovet hit and fans are, you
know, upset that the tour wascanceled duh and all they get
are now these one-off shows hereand there, which is good for
them.
I get it, but fans would liketo see them go out and do that
tour.
Tiffany Mason (14:06):
Yeah yeah.
You can't be mad that it gotcanceled because of COVID, but
you can be mad that it didn'tget rescheduled.
Do you know, hannah and I weresigned up to do a mud girl run
and then three years later I gotan email from the company like
we're doing the mud run and yourticket has been transferred.
And I was like freaking sweet.
Jay Franze (14:32):
I don't know what a
mud run is Really, but if it's
what it sounds like, I'm notcapable after a three-year break
.
Tiffany Mason (14:41):
So I like to do
the you know, extreme 5Ks where
they're not really all aboutrunning.
So this one is all kinds ofareas where you go in mud, Not
like clay mud where you can'tget your shoe out, but like real
watery mud, right.
Jay Franze (15:02):
Yeah, dirty stuff.
Tiffany Mason (15:04):
Yeah, real watery
mud.
So yeah, dirty stuff, yeah.
So when I was a kid, if therewas dirt man, I couldn't get
enough dirt in my shoes, in mysocks.
We would go camping everyweekend and my sister would just
be just pissed.
I would get into bed just alldirty, dirt crusted between my
toes and she would.
Jay Franze (15:22):
That's how my wife
gets into it and she would just
moan.
Tiffany Mason (15:26):
Do I have to
sleep next to her?
She's so dirty.
And then I think what thekicker was.
Because of jenny complaining somuch, my parents made us
flip-flop ends, so like her headwas by my feet, my feet were by
her head.
So I don't think that bodedwell for her either.
Jay Franze (15:46):
Naughty bits are
still in the same spot.
Tiffany Mason (15:48):
Yeah, it's true,
Still across the hall from each
other.
Oh my gosh.
Side note we should let thecrew members know Kathy is not
here, she's at home, she is sickin bed.
And she said sorry, kiddo, Iwill not be joining you tonight.
Your mama is very sick and I'mgoing to be in bed resting.
Jay Franze (16:10):
I wanted to be there
for her rub her forehead and
stuff, but the show must go on.
Tiffany Mason (16:16):
The show must go
on, all right.
Well, speaking of the showgoing on, the next story is Miss
Ashley McBride.
She's opening up a redemptionbar, and what did I tell you?
Oh, yes, on the website it sayslike it's like a picture of
artwork that's in the restaurantand it says going nowhere since
(16:36):
2025, as in, they're not goingto be closing the doors, they're
going to be around for a longtime and it is actually a hot
spot.
That is a sober retreat thatstill carries the Nashville's
trademark soul, but it'soffering fans a heart-centered
refuge from the city'sentertainment district.
Those are all words to skirtaround, saying they will not be
(16:59):
serving alcohol, so it's zeroproof.
So it's called the RedemptionBar on Broadway.
Jay Franze (17:06):
My understanding is
they're still going to serve
alcohol.
They're still going to serve, but they're going to focus on
non-alcoholic drinks.
Tiffany Mason (17:13):
Okay, well, and
that makes so much sense because
there are so many drinks thatare coming out that are
non-alcoholic.
Jay Franze (17:20):
My understanding is
it's going to carry your basic
alcohols, but it's going tofocus on mocktails, and my
opinion is they actually tastebetter anyway.
Tiffany Mason (17:31):
Well, I think
it's funny because last week we
reported that drinking is notcool Going out of favor yeah.
Tony Scott (17:38):
When the bar closes.
Tiffany Mason (17:40):
Yeah, and they're
not going to even know what the
songs are about.
Like, what is this drinkingthat they're talking about?
Jay Franze (17:46):
You mentioned the
artwork and I don't know.
She's a tatted woman, she's gota lot of tattoos, but one of
the tattoos she has is herguitar.
Yeah, I don't know why shewould do that, but she chose to
put her guitar on her arm andshe gave it a name.
The name is Wanda.
Oh, wanda, the wanda guitarwell, she did it after a
(18:09):
character from napoleon dynamite.
Tony Scott (18:11):
So I do not know the
character.
Jay Franze (18:14):
I did see the movie
at one point in life, but I do
not know.
Tiffany Mason (18:17):
I've definitely
seen it like three or four times
.
I mean, I love me some napoleondynamite.
If it's on, I'll tune in.
I'm not going to turn downnapoleon dynamite.
It is definitely my kind ofhumor.
I find it to be very funny, okay.
Next story is miss laney wilson.
She was on an interview withtheo vaughn and he was
(18:38):
interviewing her.
She was talking about ghosts, burnout and uncool nephews.
Not that her nephew isool.
I think that this story is socute.
So he was in school and it sayseven CMA Entertainer of the
Year nominees cannot win overfamily.
Wilson's nephew Knox did notraise his hand when he was asked
(18:59):
in school if he liked countrymusic.
But when he was pressed to namea favorite artist, the
six-year-old finally shruggedand said well, I guess my ain't
Laney.
Jay Franze (19:11):
Did he say it like
that?
Tiffany Mason (19:13):
Well, he must
have, because in the quote it's
spelled ain't instead of aunt, and so I think they were trying
to give it that country twang.
So I guess my aunt Lainey.
Jay Franze (19:28):
Do you?
Tiffany Mason (19:28):
say aunt or aunt.
On my husband's side we sayaunt.
On my side we say aunt.
Jay Franze (19:36):
So you actually
switch.
Tiffany Mason (19:39):
Yeah, I'm a
switch hitter for the.
Jay Franze (19:42):
I think we found
ourselves a new clip, oh shit.
Tony Scott (19:45):
No for the.
Yeah, I think we foundourselves a new clip no, no, um,
but yes, I, yes.
Tiffany Mason (19:53):
We say it
differently on each side of the
family where I grew up.
Jay Franze (19:58):
It was always aunt,
but for some reason I say aunt.
Tiffany Mason (20:04):
I am Auntie Tiff
on my husband's side.
I am Aunt Tiff on my family'sside.
Jay Franze (20:10):
On my wife's side
they say Tia Aunt in Spanish.
I guess.
Tiffany Mason (20:16):
Oh, oh, oh.
Jay Franze (20:17):
Her sister lives in
Miami.
Miami so for whatever reason, their kids call her Tia oh.
Tiffany Mason (20:23):
Yeah, reason,
their kids call her Tia.
Oh yeah, we have family friendsand they actually say the
aunt's first name.
There's five sisters andthey're all, whatever the
person's name is, and then theword auntie, auntie, auntie,
amanda, auntie.
That's what they say.
Jay Franze (20:43):
That's odd.
Tiffany Mason (20:44):
Yeah, it feels a
little bit like pig latin and I
always have to like really thinkit through before I say it in
front of the kids, you know, because I'm like don't get it
wrong, don't get it wrong, butit's very tricky for me, okay.
So she was also talking aboutwhen she was writing lyrics as a
young child herself, and itsaid, a young lady, wilson, was
(21:06):
already penning countryheartbreak anthems before she
even hit middle school.
On the trampoline quote unquote, her first stage Wilson belted
out lyrics like my cigarettepack is empty, my tequila bottle
is gone, nice.
Jay Franze (21:20):
That makes perfect
sense.
Tiffany Mason (21:23):
Should have been
the first sign that alcohol
isn't going anywhere, folks.
Even with the youngergenerations.
I wonder what her parents weredoing, that she was speaking
about cigarettes and tequila.
Jay Franze (21:38):
We all have
something to look forward to.
Tiffany Mason (21:42):
Well, cody
Johnson and Carrie Underwood are
celebrating number one hits inNashville.
The duo marked their charttopper I'm Gonna Love you, with
a hometown party alongside BMI,spotlighting their songwriter
Prowess.
I always want to put an R there, prowess, but it's Prowess.
English is tricky, you realize.
Jay Franze (22:05):
Cody is very similar
to you, Chalice but it's
prowess, okay, sure, unless?
It's tricky, you realize.
Cody is very similar to you.
He is also a bull rider.
Really Before he became afull-time musician, he was
actually a real bull rider.
Tiffany Mason (22:23):
Oh funny.
Jay Franze (22:23):
I mean, I know you
were only an amateur bull rider.
Tiffany Mason (22:26):
Yes, yes, it's
been, it's just my early days.
Jay Franze (22:30):
I should put that
video up.
I don't think we ever did, didwe?
Tiffany Mason (22:35):
I don't think you
ever did.
Jay Franze (22:37):
If I remember it,
folks, I will put up the video
of Tiffany riding the bull.
Tiffany Mason (22:42):
As long as you
edit me getting on the bull, me
riding the bull.
As long as you edit me gettingon the bull, you do not have
permission to you.
Jay Franze (22:51):
Heard that, folks, I
have permission no, no,
permission me mounting the saidit again permission no, um.
Tiffany Mason (23:00):
Yeah, that was
really fun.
Though when we went up therethe very first time around, we
went to uh, what was the linedancing place?
something saloon it's not anylonger wild horse, wild horse
saloon yes, and while we werethere I did a little bit of line
dancing and then we went andchecked out some other music and
(23:23):
they were playing uh, dance youhome by cody johnson gosh, darn
it, I'm gonna look it up.
But I learned that he was outof texas and he was an
up-and-coming artist and then, before I knew it, he was all
over the radio and I was likewait, what?
Dance her home.
(23:47):
Yeah, if she'll give me half achance, I'm gonna dance her home
.
It's a good song there you goyep, that was my first
introduction to cody jonesrecommendation out in the wild
true that, okay, Topp, who I wasactually listening to today, I
was really loving it.
(24:09):
He has a quote floating aroundonline I ain't in it for the
hype.
He's here to stay.
With his new single, Zach Toppcandidly slams one hit wonder
labels delivering grit andswagger.
That proves he's in it for thelegacy, not just the buzz.
Grit and swagger that proveshe's in it for the legacy, not
just the buzz.
Ain't in it for my health isn'tjust an album, it's a
declaration.
(24:29):
Zach Topp is staking his claimin modern country with approach
that respects roots, embraceshumor and tells stories that
stick.
Jay Franze (24:44):
Speaking of
tomato-tomato, do you say roots
or roots?
Tiffany Mason (24:52):
Depends on what
we're referring to a root root,
right?
Do you say roof or roof, roof, roof.
Yes, okay, I think I used tosay roof, red, roof in anyway,
okay, so he says in hisinterview he said he wants to
make music that lasts, and withthis album he is proving it.
Each track is a piece of alarger narrative, combining his
personal history, technicalskill and his clear-eyed vision
(25:14):
of the road ahead.
So that's good news.
He's also from Texas.
Oh, okay, interesting.
I thought maybe he was fromyour neck of the woods, because
Miss Scarlet was such a fan ofhis that I thought maybe he was
from up there.
Jay Franze (25:33):
No, he's from Texas
in the Austin area.
Tiffany Mason (25:34):
I believe.
Jay Franze (25:34):
But he is, as you
mentioned a couple weeks ago,
that honky-tonk sound.
He is delivering thathonky-tonk sound, that old
school 90s style.
He's delivering that old school90s style country music back to
us and I've seen a few videosof him like raw playing live,
(25:55):
not scripted in any way, none ofthat stuff and he seems to be
the real deal.
Tiffany Mason (26:01):
Mm-hmm yeah.
Jay Franze (26:06):
Now, he's not always
hitting the right notes, but
either that or when he does hithim, it's not full power uh-huh
but I like him a lot, so so far,so good yeah, I think.
Tiffany Mason (26:18):
Um, after
listening to a few of his songs
today, I'd like to go check outthe videos.
There was one really cute one Iwas listening to called flip
flop.
That was a very fun one and hewas talking about breaking up
and he was saying how he neverwants to see that beach again
and he will never flip flop itwas.
It was a very cute song.
So I would encourage everybodyto go check that one out because
(26:39):
it's one of the deep tracks.
I think a deep cut because Idon't think I've heard heard on
the radio.
So another recommendation outin the wild stretching okay, so
this sounds very cool.
Now, I have not heard of the RedBull jukebox before.
Have you heard of this event, jay?
(27:00):
It is an interactive show thatcelebrates country music and
songwriting by letting fans voteon song selections, performance
styles and surprise momentsthroughout the night.
The live city event is backinggiving fans the power to shape
the night with treaty oakrevival, ashley cook and more at
the mic I have not heard ofthis, but it does not surprise
(27:23):
me that Red Bull would beinvolved in something like this.
Jay Franze (27:27):
They seem to get
involved in all of these type of
things.
They are innovators for sure.
Tiffany Mason (27:33):
Well, Red Bull
gives you wings.
Jay Franze (27:34):
It does, it gives
you wings.
Not a sponsor, but could be.
Tiffany Mason (27:38):
Could be.
Could be a sponsor, if we onlyconveniently had a can of it
right here, okay, if we onlyconveniently had a can of it
right here, okay, moving rightalong, shana Gee.
She has a new song called Clean, our new hit, and it is a
country anthem on addiction andredemption.
So it's hitting newcomers andfans alike with a raw recovery
(28:02):
road track that is bothgut-wrenching and deeply hopeful
.
I listened to this song and itwas very, very sad.
So you've got to be in a verywell, I guess you don't have to
be in a somber mood, but youknow.
Jay Franze (28:15):
But you will be by
the time it's over.
Tiffany Mason (28:17):
You will be by
the time it's over.
But a lot of times people saythat they use music to evoke
emotion.
You know, and so she's anotherone.
She's got that punk rockcowgirl type feel to her yeah,
normally we just see the 90s orprevious eras come back in
clothing, but now we're seeingit in music I'm um anxious to
(28:40):
see how well she does I mean thesong I heard sounded pretty
darn good.
Also, this next girl, ErinKirby.
Do you know her voice as well?
Whoa.
Jay Franze (28:50):
She's from American
Idol.
Tiffany Mason (28:52):
Oh really, okay,
well, well done on spotting this
talent.
I love the beginning of thissong.
I love when they play theguitar and it like I don't know,
shrieks, like you just rubbedyour finger over the strings
opposed to like actuallyplucking them.
You know I'm saying is that?
Is that called something?
Jay Franze (29:12):
yeah, fret noise
fret noise.
Tiffany Mason (29:15):
Okay, so fret
noise.
Um so I did really like thesong.
Nowhere, anywhere, kirby turnsher chaos into cathars,
channeling fragility intostrength and lyrics that feel
like therapy.
It was a good song.
Jay Franze (29:34):
All right.
Moving on to the question ofthe day what artist puts on the
best live show?
What artist or band puts on thebest live show?
Artist or band puts on the bestlive show?
Miss Tiffany, as always, Iwould like you to have the
opportunity to go first or holdon till the end.
Tiffany Mason (29:52):
I am going to
take the liberty to go first and
I am going to say CarrieUnderwood, she's very good,
she's so beautiful, she's easyon the eyes, even as a woman.
I mean she's just beautiful.
And then she on the eyes, evenas a woman, I mean she's just
beautiful.
And then she does a lot ofcostume changes.
Jay Franze (30:09):
Yeah, yeah, you
mentioned the costume.
I kid you not.
When we were at the awards show, I was in the parking garage
when she was coming in.
And she was coming in with herwardrobe team Uh-huh Racks of
clothing, I believe it.
Racks, racks, wailing them innow.
Obviously she couldn't havegone through that many in one
(30:31):
night, right?
But man, she had them there tochoose from yeah, they're pretty
elaborate.
Tiffany Mason (30:36):
I mean, it really
makes me think like taylor
swift is the second wave ofcarrie underwood, like she had
so many costume changes.
And then you know what'sinteresting is, taylor Swift had
a lot of microphone changesduring her performance and when
we saw Megan Maroney, she had alot of guitar changes.
She had probably four or five.
(30:56):
She had the one that's like allrhinestone-y.
She had a pink one, she had awhite one, she had a blue one.
Yeah, of course she had a blueone.
Jay Franze (31:05):
Who was first,
taylor or Carrie?
Ooh which came first, thechicken or the?
Tiffany Mason (31:14):
egg, because I'm
just saying.
Jay Franze (31:15):
You say that she is
the next round of Carrie.
I don't know which one wasfirst.
I feel as if Taylor was firstand Carrie was on American Idol,
Like I believe.
Tiffany Mason (31:27):
Oh my God, you
might be right.
Jay Franze (31:29):
Long after Taylor,
so Carrie would be the new
Taylor.
Tiffany Mason (31:34):
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm,
mm-hmm.
Jay Franze (31:35):
Either way, they're
both very good.
Tiffany Mason (31:37):
Carrie Underwood
performed first releasing her
debut single in 2025, whileTaylor Swift's debut album was
in Octoberober of 2006.
Did I say 2025?
I meant 2005, and then taylorwas 2006, so looks like I was
(31:57):
right.
It's too late.
I already spoke my piece.
Jay Franze (32:07):
You can beat me all
you want no, that's just to
remind me of the edit pointlater nice all right.
Shall we move on to see have tosay yes, I want to see who
agrees with me emily says GarthBrooks.
Tiffany Mason (32:25):
Okay, yes, Good
job, Emily.
I mean Emily and I.
She was the one that hadfriends in low places last time.
Jay Franze (32:35):
That's true, man.
I was going to say that couldhave just knocked both of your
contenders there, Taylor andCarrie, right out of the water.
But I don't know.
Taylor has such an elaborateshow.
Tiffany Mason (32:49):
First of all,
women trump men because they're
just beautiful, because boobs, because boobs and legs of steel
man, these women.
And then, I'm sorry, garthBrooks is amazing, but you give
me ten costume changes, sixcostume changes.
Jay Franze (33:09):
No, you've got a man
swinging on wire and smashing
guitars.
Tiffany Mason (33:15):
Okay, okay, okay,
those are fair.
I forgot about the props.
Okay, we're back at a tie, allright.
Jay Franze (33:21):
Okay, garth, I'll
give you that and you know what?
Tiffany Mason (33:23):
He's old enough,
he probably has boobs at a tie.
Jay Franze (33:24):
All right, okay,
garth, I'll give you that.
And you know what?
He's old enough, he probablyhas boobs at this point.
Anyways, mike, mike says EricChurch.
Tiffany Mason (33:35):
I've never seen
anything, so I have no clue.
If he's got some hip action, ifhe's got props, I don't know
he's really good.
Jay Franze (33:47):
He's more of that
rougher, harder style when he's
got props.
I don't know.
He's really good, he's.
Uh.
He's more of that rougher, harder style when he's on stage
too, and he brought lizzie hillfrom hailstorm up on stage to
sing with them and oh, that'scool so, and that was at the
award show, and every, everycountry artist like shania faith
, everybody's looking up likewho is this woman?
Because he just brought her upoh, I mean, it wasn't like a
planned thing oh, wow, okay andthey sang.
(34:09):
You gotta look that up onyoutube.
That's a great performance ericchurch and lizzie hale yep all
right homework laura says, shania twain that is also a very
good one.
These are very good choices.
Tiffany Mason (34:24):
Agreed.
Jay Franze (34:25):
Jacob says George
Strait.
Tiffany Mason (34:28):
That's what Kathy
said.
Jay Franze (34:30):
That's what she said
.
Yes, but Kathy gave a nastycomment to why.
Tiffany Mason (34:38):
What?
Why was it nasty?
Because it was competing withyou.
Jay Franze (34:43):
It's not hard to
look at.
Tiffany Mason (34:46):
Kathy, I thought
we had something special.
Now see, because it wascompeting with you yeah it's not
hard to look at sarah says lukebryan shake it.
For me, no shake it for me youknow that he has been like made
fun of for his dancing skills ohyeah yeah, we're not gonna say
that he's the best liveperformance just because he's
(35:08):
saying his songs live and hissongs are good.
There's more to it than justthe music sorry, sarah yeah, I
came down hard.
I didn't mean to come down, sohard.
Jay Franze (35:17):
You can shake it for
me whoa, okay, that's a
different show yeah, I'm sorry, kevin, says mr stapleton.
I wouldn't know, I don't thinkit's a different show.
Yeah, sorry, kevin, says MrStapleton.
Tiffany Mason (35:27):
I wouldn't know.
Jay Franze (35:28):
I don't think it's a
good show.
Tiffany Mason (35:30):
Yeah, I wouldn't
guess so.
Jay Franze (35:32):
I think it's a very
still show.
I think there's a lot of peoplestanding in one spot playing
amazing music.
Don't get me wrong.
Tiffany Mason (35:42):
I would guess the
same thing get me wrong, I
would guess the same thing, butI don't think there's a lot of
movement or costume changes ortheatrics or props.
Jay Franze (35:51):
I think you have
people standing in one spot with
a instrument playing.
Tiffany Mason (35:55):
Absolutely
amazing performance and I have
to kind of imagine that part ofthe audience is sitting oh yeah,
I'd be.
I'd be sitting you would I sitthrough.
Jay Franze (36:08):
It has to be really
good for me to stand up.
Tiffany Mason (36:10):
Oh my gosh.
Tony Scott (36:12):
I'm old.
Tiffany Mason (36:13):
I can't hear
music and not move.
I have to move, I have to Ican't help it.
We went to Cyndi Lauper.
Jay Franze (36:19):
No Front and center
Stop, don't even tell me, my
there, my wife stood the wholetime.
I just could not do it.
Tiffany Mason (36:25):
But to be fair, I
also thought I was going to
pass out.
Jay Franze (36:27):
Yeah Well that
didn't help.
Moving on, amy, says MirandaLambert.
Tiffany Mason (36:32):
That's probably a
good concert.
I'm sure it's a good concert, Idon't know.
Jay Franze (36:37):
I'm also aware
you're not writing these down,
so it's going to be hard to comeup with the best because, again
, this is a competition.
Tiffany Mason (36:43):
They're all the
best.
Jay Franze (36:44):
But Amy says Miranda
Lambert.
I think that would be a greatconcert but I don't know if I
would say the best.
Rockalooch says I'm going to gowith Tiffany Carrie Underwood.
Tiffany Mason (36:56):
Yes, good job,
rockalooch.
Jay Franze (36:59):
Oh hey, welcome back
Mark D.
He says every stadium showfeels like a beach vacation.
Who is he talking about?
Kenny Chesney.
There you go, mark D.
Kenny Chesney.
Chris says Morgan Wallen.
I think it'd be a rowdy show,but I don't know if it'd be the
(37:21):
best.
It's a good one though.
Tiffany Mason (37:23):
Hannah filmed the
entire entrance onto the stage.
It was pretty cool.
Jay Franze (37:30):
It was like a fight
song.
Tiffany Mason (37:32):
It was not, it
was a race car driver and he was
getting ready to spin out.
And then I really thought, whatwould have been like he's got
ready to spin out?
And then I really thought, well, it would have been like he's
got to work this out.
But it shows him coming likedriving and you think that he's
going to burst out on the stage.
But then just he bursts out onthe stage.
But it was so cool, but it wasa race car.
Jay Franze (37:55):
Speaking of your
daughter.
Tiffany Mason (37:57):
Oh, she's joined
us again and I am so sorry.
Hannah says, reba mcintyre, hannah mommy says time to go to
bed.
Jay Franze (38:10):
She doesn't listen
to you.
Hmm, tom says jason aldean highoctane and built for live
crowds.
Tiffany Mason (38:20):
Agreed, and just
that music yeah he's good.
Jay Franze (38:26):
Now he does have a
couple of those songs which I
still think are good, butthey're crossing that line into
that more pop country stuff.
Tiffany Mason (38:36):
As you call it
fast talking.
Oh, I like when they fast talk.
How much do you love mynon-music industry?
Jay Franze (38:48):
vocabulary.
Your terms are awesome Daniel.
Daniel says Alan Jackson.
Tiffany Mason (38:56):
Ooh.
Jay Franze (38:57):
All right, Samantha,
I'm going to give you this one.
I would have never thought it,but since I have recently gone
to one of their shows, I willsay yes, absolutely.
Brooks and Dunn.
Tiffany Mason (39:09):
Oh, come on, it's
got to be a fabulous concert.
Jay Franze (39:12):
They were really
really good.
Tiffany Mason (39:14):
Now how are we
going to say who is the best out
of these if we haven't been tothem, jay?
Jay Franze (39:21):
I've been to a lot
of these, thank you.
Tiffany Mason (39:23):
Okay, well then,
we're going to have to go based
on you.
Jay Franze (39:27):
Okay, I'm okay with
that.
To be fair, I was going to dothat anyway.
Luke says Zach Brown Band.
Tiffany Mason (39:38):
Are we putting
them on the list?
Jay Franze (39:40):
No, I don't think so
.
Tiffany Mason (39:41):
No.
Jay Franze (39:42):
Nina says you guys
were talking about Keith Urban.
Tiffany Mason (39:48):
I mean, I'll take
Billy Joe Jones Word for it.
You can?
Jay Franze (39:51):
I'm not gonna Sorry,
billy, but I don't agree with
you.
Tiffany Mason (39:54):
Whoa.
Jay Franze (39:55):
He puts on a great
show, but is it the best, brian?
Tiffany Mason (40:02):
Says Little Big
Town no, agree with you, whoa,
he puts on a great show, but isit the best?
Brian says little big town, no,no, it's like a chris stapleton
concert, I think the fourpeople on a stage that are all
kind of commanding the spotlightno, they don't move.
Jay Franze (40:13):
No fair enough, they
were nice people.
Tiffany Mason (40:17):
They were nice,
olivia says, says Thomas Rhett.
Jay Franze (40:25):
Fun songs Tyler
Tyler says Off-Key McGraw, His
shows happen to be packed withenergy and hits.
Tiffany Mason (40:41):
Oh my gosh,
that's hilarious Off-key.
Jay Franze (40:45):
McGraw.
Again.
Hate mail goes to Tyler atjfrenzycom.
Tim, if you want to come onhere and discuss it.
Jfrenzycom Vanessa says youguys mentioned Cruz.
How about Florida Georgia line?
Florida Georgia line?
(41:06):
No, I saw them perform live.
They are amazingly talentedpeople.
I will give it to them, butthey never once moved oh they
sat on a stool and never moved.
Tiffany Mason (41:19):
Never didn't get
up off that stool one time it's
like the first rule on americanidol you have to command the
whole stage that's true.
Jay Franze (41:26):
See that you know
something about music.
Yeah, you know a lot aboutmusic terms might be a little
funky I got the general idea.
Tiffany Mason (41:35):
I I can get you
on the same page as me.
Jay Franze (41:39):
Ethan says come on,
nobody mentioned Dolly Parton.
Tiffany Mason (41:44):
I mean again.
Jay Franze (41:44):
He says and she owns
the stage.
Tiffany Mason (41:46):
Yeah, well, there
you go, she does, she owns the
stage?
Jay Franze (41:49):
I don't know.
I believe that I think she'sabsolutely amazing.
I don't know if she would bethe best, but she's up there for
sure.
Tiffany Mason (42:00):
I feel like the
older artists do a better job of
entertaining.
I mean now taylor swift, butshe's probably the youngest one
on here.
Do you think it's like a skillset or a showmanship?
That learn over time right thatyou learn over time, but also
I'm wondering if it's not beingtaught anymore, if it's not a
standard, if it's not anexpectation of the artists there
(42:22):
might be something to that.
Jay Franze (42:24):
I think it's
something you learn over time,
but you used to be mentored.
It's part of that whole 10-yearovernight success.
We talk about nashville being a10-year town and these artists
who are being successful off ofTikTok or some other way that
accelerates them.
They might have the talent anddeserve to be there, but they
haven't been mentored by anybody.
Tiffany Mason (42:46):
Yeah, yeah.
Jay Franze (42:48):
So yes, I agree.
Paige says Blake Shelton.
I don't know.
I've never actually you knowwhat I've seen him perform, but
it was an acoustic thing at anevent, so I've never seen him do
an actual concert.
Tiffany Mason (43:02):
I think he's
pretty funny right.
Jay Franze (43:04):
He is a funny dude
and he's outspoken.
Tiffany Mason (43:08):
Well, I'm trying
to think of like on the voice,
if I think that he shows anysigns of being.
Jay Franze (43:14):
You know what he
shows signs of being when he's
on the voice.
He is and I'm not going to saysomething bad, Stop that.
He is extremely musicallygifted.
Tiffany Mason (43:25):
Oh.
Jay Franze (43:26):
He's got a very,
very good ear.
I mean, he's just a verytalented man.
Tiffany Mason (43:30):
You know I've
seen pictures of him in his
early days and I don't know ifI've seen any of his music
videos.
Like I know songs are by him.
When I think of Blake Shelton,I definitely think of like a
country artist, but when I thinkof him in the artist capacity,
(43:53):
I've never actually really seenhim sing, like actually seen him
, you know, like on TV orsomething or a concert it was
the early days when I saw himback in the mullet days yes,
it's just kind of a weird thingI'm having right now where I'm
like is he an artist?
Jay Franze (44:09):
no, this was um.
When I saw him, it was at hisnumber one party.
Oh so, like his first numberone hit, and this was at bMI.
But he is a very tall man.
Tiffany Mason (44:21):
I think that's my
other thing Like I can't
imagine this super tall dude.
He's like 8'6 or something likethat yeah.
Jay Franze (44:28):
If I'm 7'2, I mean
he's got to be at least 8'6.
Tiffany Mason (44:30):
Right right.
Jay Franze (44:33):
All right, megan,
says Toby Keith.
Tiffany Mason (44:37):
Oh, I bet that
was a good concert.
I would agree with that.
I don't know how you're goingto narrow this list down.
Jay Franze (44:46):
Yeah, we got a lot
more on the list.
We're going to have to cherrypick.
A lot of people have feelingsabout this.
Alright, let's start cherrypicking.
Josh says Faith Hill no.
Allison says Hank Williams Jr.
I don't know, I've never seenhis show.
I've worked with him Never seenhis show.

just here.
Oh, yeah's one.
Jay Franze (46:19):
Not the best, but
Melissa says Sarah Evans.
Tiffany Mason (46:20):
That would be a
good one.
Oh, I bet so.
Jay Franze (46:22):
She was just here.
Oh yeah, yeah, aaron says RandyHouser, hank Williams, sr Tara.
Tony Scott (46:29):
Oh.
Jay Franze (46:30):
Tara says Hank
Williams, sr Dylan says Charlie
Pryde, karen huh, there you go,kara, not Karen.
Kara says Travis Tripp thatwould be a good one Would have
been good back when ScottySimpson was playing bass for him
.
I've worked on one of Travis'slive records when Scotty was the
(46:52):
bass player.
That's how I initially metScotty.
Tiffany Mason (46:56):
Oh.
Jay Franze (46:57):
And we've been just
the best of friends ever since.
Tiffany Mason (47:00):
It was the best
of times.
Jay Franze (47:02):
It was the worst of
times.
He is the big spoon.
Tiffany Mason (47:07):
That's perfect,
because you like to be the
little spoon.
Jay Franze (47:09):
That's what I'm
saying Scotty, you want to come
on and talk, come on,jfranciecom.
He was on the show once before.
I think it was episode three,if I'm not mistaken.
Oh, he was on the show oncebefore.
I think it was episode three,if I'm not mistaken.
Oh, wow, kathy, she says carrieunderwood.
That is not what you gave meearlier well, maybe it's not my
mom it's your mom oh kathy lloydpicture right here next to it
(47:33):
she wanted to put multipleentries.
Tiffany Mason (47:34):
I guess Kathy.
Jay Franze (47:45):
Something we need to
talk about.
She says she is so entertainingand such a great artist.
Tiffany Mason (47:50):
She is
entertaining.
Jay Franze (47:54):
Mark Bottleado.
Tiffany Mason (47:56):
Bottleado.
Jay Franze (47:57):
Mark Bottleado says
Iron Maiden.
Tiffany Mason (48:00):
Mmm.
Jay Franze (48:01):
I would have
expected him to say Metallica.
I do not think Metallica was agreat show, but Iron Maiden was
a great show.
Talk about theatrics and havingEddie and all that stuff on
stage.
Tiffany Mason (48:14):
Well then, you
should be thankful that he said
Iron Maiden.
Jay Franze (48:17):
I am Thank you, mark
, and we will end it with my
project music.
Tiffany Mason (48:26):
Oh yeah.
Jay Franze (48:26):
Because she's here
every week.
She says Nine Inch Nails.
Tiffany Mason (48:32):
Dang.
Jay Franze (48:34):
All right, what's

We mentioned Taylor.
Tiffany Mason (51:02):
Swift, taylor
Swift or Travis Tritt.
Jay Franze (51:05):
I'm just calling it
Taylor Swift.
I can't think of another personthat's going to beat her.
Tiffany Mason (51:11):
Okay, the other
two that were left were Martina
McBride and Sarah Evans.
Jay Franze (51:15):
Not Sarah Sorry,
sarah Martina would come close
but Taylor Swift.
Tiffany Mason (51:22):
All right.
Jay Franze (51:22):
Taylor's the winner.
She won the award of Travis.
Tiffany Mason (51:25):
Kelsey, and she
won this debate tonight.
Jay Franze (51:28):
You cannot beat the
girl who dives into her stage
and swims across, or all thesecrazy things this girl does.
Tiffany Mason (51:36):
Uh-huh.
Jay Franze (51:37):
If we're talking, if
the question was best, live
show.
Tiffany Mason (51:42):
That's right.
Jay Franze (51:43):
I mean, if we're
going with the best, I have to
go with Taylor.
Tiffany Mason (51:47):
Okay, she's the
winner, taylor, if you would
like to officially accept thisaward, if you would like to
claim your prize.
Jay Franze (51:56):

craig oh yes, and if you wouldlike to submit a question of the
day, please feel free.
You can send it to j atjfranzycom or dm me on any of
the socials or smoke signals, whatever works for you.

Tiffany Mason (52:24):
Morse code.
Jay Franze (52:25):
I can't.
It's just going to take me alittle longer.
Might be a few weeks before itgets on there.
Tiffany Mason (52:32):
Okay.
So number 10 is making me alittle sad.
It's Nate Smith.
Fix what you didn't break.
Jay Franze (52:37):
Kathy is making me a
little sad, it's Nate Smith.
Tiffany Mason (52:39):
Fix what you
Didn't Break, kathy.
Kathy, how did he?
Jay Franze (52:41):
go from one to ten.
That's a huge drop.
Tiffany Mason (52:43):
It's a big drop.
It's a big drop.
Jay Franze (52:45):
And it's great songs
.
It took him so long to get upthere.
He was climbing that chart forages.
I know what did he do Land onnumber one for a week and then
drop to ten.
Tiffany Mason (52:55):
Yeah, it's sad.
Well, number nine is going tobe Mr John Party Friday Night
Heartbreaker and he's debutingin spot.
Jay Franze (53:04):
Number nine it's
kind of traditional sounding to
me.
Tiffany Mason (53:09):
I don't know if I
know this song.
Jay Franze (53:14):
It's got a very
uncompressed sound to it, when
most modern music these days isvery compressed.
This is a very uncompressedsound to it, so it's got a
different feel to it than mostcommercial music that's on the
radio.
Tiffany Mason (53:24):
Alright, we all
have to check it out.
Write it down, it's.
Jay Franze (53:27):
Hallmark.
Thank you, george.
George says I love you too.
This is church.
Tiffany Mason (53:31):
And these two
love you, George.
There you go.
Jay Franze (53:35):
He also loves
skating.
There you go.
It's just a love fest here.
Tiffany Mason (53:41):
Love fest.
Just welcome to the love fest.
Actually, it's not even the JayFranzi show anymore, it's the
love fest show, because nowwe're going to talk about the
number that Jay loves, numbereight.
Tony Scott (53:54):
It is my favorite
number Jordan.
Tiffany Mason (53:54):
Davis bar none.
It is my favorite song, jordanDavis Bar None, you just like
made me the happiest and changedmy feelings about the song.
So I already liked it, but youjust sent me into a whole nother
category of loving this song.
When you explained the Bar Noneand then I was reading the
(54:15):
lyrics in Apple Music and and itdoes say me in the bar comma,
none, just like you wereexplaining but I just thought
you questioned me.
No, no, no, no, I did not no.
Jay Franze (54:28):
Well, you sound
surprised that when you read it,
it was what I told you.
Tiffany Mason (54:32):
I was surprised
that they got the punctuation
correct, that the punctuationwas agreeing with the meaning or
with how the artist intendedthe song to come across that's
fair.
I was surprised with thepunctuation, so it's the bar
comma last week we talked aboutnods.
Jay Franze (54:50):
I would like to give
a nod to carl u skremski okay,
is that the writer of the song?
No, he's number eight for theBoston Red Sox back in the 70s.
Tiffany Mason (54:59):
Oh, okay, good.
Jay Franze (55:03):
Only say that, cuz I
think that's why I like the
number eight.
Yeah, but I'm not sure.
Tiffany Mason (55:09):
Okay, well, some
of them sweet, come up with
those things I keep seeing.
My birthday is 1224 and I keepseeing 1224.
Like after we're done recordingand I'm going to bed I see 1224
, and the afternoon I see 12 24and I'm like I don't know.
I feel like 12 or 24 should belike my number, but then that's
weird because it's my birthday,so I don't know if that counts
(55:30):
yeah, I wish I was born a dayearlier.
I was born on the 9th jay, andyou know who was born on the 8th
9th, jay.
Jay Franze (55:36):
And you know who was
born on the 8th Elvis Presley.
Tiffany Mason (55:43):
Oh, lucy's born
on the 11th.
Okay, well, I was close, notreally, but Belle was born on
the 31st and Valen was born onthe 21st.
Jay Franze (55:54):
Okay, everybody
document it so we can wish Jay's
kids happy birthday.
I'm just pointing it out there, because if I say one and don't
say the other two, I'll be introuble.
Tiffany Mason (56:02):
Oh well, we don't
want you getting in trouble.
Keep you out of daddy jail.
Wife was on the fourth, Okay.
Jay Franze (56:11):
Dog was on the 14th.
I think that's as far as I cango, sorry to the other two dogs
and the fish.
Okay.
Tiffany Mason (56:20):
Well, let's talk
about Jelly Roll.
He's in spot seven, Heart ofStone, and he went from nine and
he rose two to spot numberseven.
Jay Franze (56:28):
I can't believe that
this song hasn't been on the
charts already.
I was kind of surprised too.
Actually, it's been out forever.
Tiffany Mason (56:34):
Uh-huh, I know it
took us so long.
Kind of like the next one, theBottle Rocket song.
It seems like it took that onea long time to get on the charts
too, but man, he's hangingaround.
Jay Franze (56:43):
And he's moving up.
Tiffany Mason (56:46):
Number five is
Russ, good old Russ With the
song Good old Russ.
With the song Happen to Me,dickerson, dickerson, what the
song happened to me, Dickerson, and he went from spot six to
spot five.
Jay Franze (57:06):
Kaden, you still
with us, buddy.
That's Russ number five.
Tiffany Mason (57:09):
Good old Russ, I
know I'm number five.
Tony Scott (57:14):
Okay, number four,
it's not a bad song.
Tiffany Mason (57:16):
No, it's a great
song, although everybody in my
family when I want to play it,they're like ooh.
Jay Franze (57:21):
A lot of people
don't seem to like it.
I mean obviously enough peoplelike it that it's number five on
the list.
Tiffany Mason (57:27):
Yeah, it's good.
Let's consider me, the masses.
Jay Franze (57:30):
Yeah, of course.
Tiffany Mason (57:35):
Because, I mean,
I pointed it out and now here it
is on the charts, and it's justhanging around.
It's just been weeks, weeks, sothe masses agree with me.
And I also told you about spotnumber three song before it was
on.
Tony Scott (57:46):
Oh, you skipped four
.
Tiffany Mason (57:47):
I know and I told
you about song number one.
Tony Scott (57:50):
No, I thought about
four, yeah, okay Four.
Tiffany Mason (57:52):
Bailey Zimmerman
Backup Plan and I know you
wanted the spotlight on itbecause it is one of Jay's
favorites.
Jay Franze (57:59):
I do like that.
I like the idea.
Tiffany Mason (58:03):
Yeah, I do too,
there is no backing down there
is no plan B.
Jay Franze (58:08):
Don't come up with a
backup plan.
Your only backup plan is getthe hell back up, mm-hmm.
Tiffany Mason (58:12):
Resilience.
I love it.
Can I proceed to number three?
That would be good news Spotnumber three is by Shaboosie and
the song is Good News.
Oh, what a coincidence.
(58:36):
Oh my God.
Okay, thomas.
Jay Franze (58:42):
Rhett is in spot

Tiffany Mason (58:54):

thomas Rhett.
After all the bars are closed.
Jay Franze (58:56):
That's when people
stop drinking.
Tiffany Mason (58:58):

Jay Franze (58:59):
When do they start
drinking?
Tiffany Mason (59:01):

it.

Tiffany Mason (59:27):
number two gets
the drum roll spot number one,
luke bryan with country songcame on and he climbed from
number four all the way to thetop it's a little bit of
applause, is that all right?
Jay Franze (59:43):
okay, that's fair
that's fair.
Tiffany Mason (59:45):
Yep, yes, you're
on the edge of your seat, and
one you're rejoicing in victorywhat about our indie charts?
Okay, well, moving on to ourindependent artists and I'm only
going to say that because for awhile I thought an indie artist
was something special.
I mean, they are somethingspecial, you mean, you thought
(01:00:05):
it was like a genre.
Yeah, I thought it was like, yes, like a genre, but it's not.
It means you're independent.
Yeah, and I learned thatthrough podcasting, actually,
because there's indie podcasters, and I was like wait, that's
like indie music.
And then I was like, oh,because it means like
independence over marvel yes, okay, spot number 10 is going to
(01:00:30):
be.
Jay Franze (01:00:31):
You were there by
thompson square yeah, that's sad
, means they lost a record deal.
Tiffany Mason (01:00:37):
Mm-hmm, I was
thinking the same thing.
Number nine I got Mexico.
Jay Franze (01:00:41):
We're past number 10
.
See ya, what else do you wantme to say?
Blow right by you.

Tiffany Mason (01:01:00):

Jay Franze (01:01:01):
Are we at an hour
and a half?
Yeah?
All right, we'll cut thecomments about Caden out, and

did there?
Did you?
See what I did there I bit mytongue, so I wouldn't comment
because I don't want you to getmad and yell at me again.
Tiffany Mason (01:01:28):
Especially the
tone that I used.
Jay Franze (01:01:30):
I know it's very
aggressive.
Tiffany Mason (01:01:33):
All right, numero
ocho, baptized in it by the
Haygoods.
Jay Franze (01:01:37):
Haygoods.
Tiffany Mason (01:01:38):

Tiffany Mason (01:02:42):
Did you end up
cheating on your wife last?
Jay Franze (01:02:45):
week she was gone.
Tiffany Mason (01:02:48):
She was gone and
the answer is no, I did not
cheat on my wife.
Jay Franze (01:02:50):
Probably a wise
decision.
Anybody thinks that's a seriouscomment.
You know my wife, Nobody elsecares.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:00):
I feel like that
needed a ba-dum-tsh.
Jay Franze (01:03:04):
I have one of those
somewhere.
Wait A little late, but itworks.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:08):
It works Okay.
Number five is she Loves myCountry by Louis Bryce and that

Spot four is read by JetJuergensmeyer.
Jay Franze (01:03:29):
Juergensmeyer.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:31):
Say it fast and
you won't know if you skipped a
letter or not, because there's alot of letters in there.
It's a name I would not want tomarry into.
Sorry, doc, I can't read thatrow.
Yeah, and that went from spotfive to spot four, so he climbed
a spot.
Jay Franze (01:03:49):
He did, he did Like
a jet Like a G6.
Tiffany Mason (01:03:55):
Okay.
Jay Franze (01:03:58):
Sorry, we don't all
go private.
Tiffany Mason (01:04:02):
So another
climber is Dwight Yoakam and
Post Malone with I Don't Knowhow to Say Goodbye.
Jay Franze (01:04:09):
Wait, wait, wait
Bang bang, boom boom.
Bang, bang, boom boom.
Bang, bang, boom, boom so youtold me we weren't going to talk

Oh, and Post Malone added histhing and stuff.
(01:04:32):
He, you know, sings witheverybody under the sun.
Yeah, but it was a very if itwas played back in the day it
would still fit in.
Sounds just like him.
Sounds just like anything he'sever done Cool, just with a
little help from a friend.
Tiffany Mason (01:04:47):
This is the song
that I was guessing the plug
about.
Yes, but it was really this oneGot it.
Just wanted to cue in the crewmembers if they were as slow as

Jay Franze (01:05:00):
No, they're not.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:01):
Okay, okay.
Spot number two belongs to myCrazy by Ashley Ryan.
Jay Franze (01:05:12):
We are so stupid.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:13):
I love it, keep
it.
And she was spot number onelast week, so she ain't climbing
, but it's okay.
Jay Franze (01:05:21):
She's still up there
.
That was also a pretty decentNot my favorite, but pretty
decent.
She's kind of cute.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:28):
She's kind of
cute, she kind of caught your
eye there, jay.
Jay Franze (01:05:33):
They all do.
Now I'm married.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:35):
Yeah right,
anything looks better.
Aw, you're so mean.
I'm married.
Yeah right, anything looksbetter.
Aw, you're so mean.
Jay Franze (01:05:41):
I'm not saying that
my wife is not beautiful.
I am saying that because I'mmarried, my eye will go
everywhere else.
Tiffany Mason (01:05:49):
Yes, well, you
know, jay, mr Mason and I, I
mean, I've never once caught him, I've never once caught him,
I've never once caught him, he'sjust good at it.
He must be good at it.
I don't doubt that is what itis.
But yeah, there's so many timeswhere I'll watch him and I'm
like, oh, let's see if hefollows this chick or that chick
(01:06:10):
.
Jay Franze (01:06:10):
So many tricks.
Tiffany Mason (01:06:10):
So many tricks.
He never does, he never does.
Yeah, he's so good.
One time we were at this Idon't know dinner or something
this lady had this white furrysweater just stretched as tight
as she could over her bosom.
That was as large as DollyParton's and I mean you couldn't
(01:06:31):
help it.
That's enough for me.
Well, I don't think it was sizethat.
Jay Franze (01:06:35):
I don't think it was
even a peel.
Oh, I mean, I get the fact thatit draws the attention.
Tiffany Mason (01:06:38):
Right, I think it
was even appeal.
I get the fact that it drawsthe attention, right, I think it
wasn't like, oh, she's so hot.
I think it was like huh, howdoes she do that?
Why does she do that?
Why does she do that?
Yes, okay, side note, end it.
Okay.
Now this one, caden, is herewith us.
Caden we have very good newsfor you, mr Cody Jinks Caden

Jay Franze (01:07:18):

Tiffany Mason (01:07:24):
It's pretty cool
where is the applause?
Jay Franze (01:07:27):
oh, do we have to
give him applause for that?
Tiffany Mason (01:07:28):
yes for spot one
I don't really agree with Thank
you.
Jay Franze (01:07:38):
It's an annoying
sound.
I don't know, I don't like it.
Tiffany Mason (01:07:44):
Okay, well, drum
roll only for spot number two.
Jay Franze (01:07:47):
It reminds me.
Tiffany Mason (01:07:48):
These rules are
coming along on the fly.
Jay Franze (01:07:52):
It reminds me of
like Willie Nelson and that
style of music.
Tiffany Mason (01:07:57):
Okay, yeah, but
it Okay.
Jay Franze (01:07:58):
Yeah.
Tiffany Mason (01:07:59):
But it was good.
Jay Franze (01:07:59):
Yeah, I'll have to
check it out.
It doesn't seem like a ravingreview, Jay it doesn't seem like
something that would make it tonumber one on the charts.
I mean, I'm glad it did, don'tget me wrong, I'm glad it did
because it's got more of thatold school feel.
It's got very traditionalinstruments in it, the things
that I like in a song.
It's kind of, you know, gotthat aggressive rally type voice
(01:08:23):
to them and stuff.
So I'm glad.
Tiffany Mason (01:08:25):
Yeah, but it's
not.
I'm glad it made an appearancebecause we were.
Jay Franze (01:08:29):
Polished commercial
stuff that you would typically
hear.
Tiffany Mason (01:08:30):
Okay, well, he is
an indie artist.
So what are you going on thisweek, my friend?
Well, I had a new episode comeout from the Link Up Lounge.
We were talking about the powerof first impressions, and
tomorrow I'm going to go watchHannah Cheer, and then I'll be
(01:08:53):
out slinging some coffee onSaturday and Sunday.
Jay Franze (01:08:56):
Nice.
Tiffany Mason (01:08:58):
Yeah, what are
you going to do, jay?
What's new with you?
What's news and noteworthy?
Jay Franze (01:09:04):
New and noteworthy
All right, Either way it works
in that case.
Well, we did talk to MissStella Soleil this week.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:13):
Yes, she's a very
sweet person.
Jay Franze (01:09:15):
So I know you
enjoyed that.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:17):
I did enjoy it
and it sounds like she's had a
very extensive career.
I would have loved to havelearned more about who she
toured with and what she did andshe did some stuff on her own
and just the differentconnections that she has.
It just seems like she's hadsome really cool experiences.
Jay Franze (01:09:32):
Well, she came on to
talk about her new video and
her single, which is what we did.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:39):
Yes.
Jay Franze (01:09:40):
But I would like to
go back now and have her back on
at some point and discuss herearlier career.
Tiffany Mason (01:09:45):
Yeah, because
also she toured as a ballet with
the ballet, I should say.
So that's kind of interestingto me too, like she did all this
stuff in the ballet realm andshe was touring and then she
talked about how touring isreally hard on your body.
So it surprises me that shetoured as a young ballerina and
(01:10:06):
then she did it again as a musicartist.
Jay Franze (01:10:08):
so and she played
with the guys from slipknot
right, yeah, she's had a prettyamazing career not like opening
up for the, the guys she playedin a band With them.
Yeah, she was the front womanfor the guys from Slipknot.
Tiffany Mason (01:10:23):
Mm-hmm, yeah, it
was really cool.
Jay Franze (01:10:26):
Yeah, all right,
stella, there you go, if you
would like to come back at somepoint in time we would love to
hear the earlier days.
Tiffany Mason (01:10:36):
Mm-hmm.
Jay Franze (01:10:37):
Kaden is chiming in.
That was a fantastic episode.
You guys are amazing hosts.
Thank you.
Thank you, caden.
And then last weekend Imentioned it on the show but I
was able to go see Loverboy Nice.
I did post photos up on thegram, if you would like to go
(01:10:58):
check those out, but it wasactually pretty good.
A couple things about it that Iliked, so let me take a moment
to share.
Tiffany Mason (01:11:07):
Please Okay.
Jay Franze (01:11:08):
I'll start with the
band, because, well, that's what
I mentioned Loverboy 80s band.
Tiffany Mason (01:11:15):
Yep.
Jay Franze (01:11:15):
They sounded every
bit as good as they did in the
80s.
Now, in between songs, theytalked very cheesy oh, the
singer was very cheesy inbetween songs, but as far as
singing, he hit one note that Iwas like there's no way he's
gonna do it and he nailed itlike no questions asked.
(01:11:38):
Nailed it so wow sounded likethe record in most cases yeah so
I was very impressed with allthat.
The band it was a small band, itwas not large, I think it was a
four-piece band behind him.
It was very, very goodmusically, very good.
Like it a little cheesy, he washitting on girls in the crowd
(01:11:58):
in between songs, I mean it wasfunny.
It was very funny.
But I also mentioned thatCarried Away, the Carrie
Underwood tribute band, was alsoplaying that night.
Yeah, they were outdoors whileLoverboy was indoors.
I did not get to see CarriedAway.
I wish I did.
I saw the venue after the fact.
(01:12:20):
It was very nice, but I did notget to see them perform.
But the venues are what I'dlike to talk about.
It was at a place calledTurfway, which is a horse track
casino, and their outdoor venuewas beautiful.
Even though I didn't get to gowatch it.
I was able to look down on itand it was very beautiful, like
(01:12:41):
well manicured grass, nice stage.
I mean they blew it out of thewater for most outdoor stages
and then they're they're indoorwhere lover boy played.
It felt like you were at a prom.
I mean it's like a banquet halland it was just like card table
(01:13:04):
chairs everywhere.
I mean it was a very odd venuebut I enjoyed it a lot.
It was not a good sounding venue.
It was not very impressivelooking.
It was literally just like abanquet stage in a banquet hall
(01:13:24):
uh-huh, I mean, it was like youwere at a hotel conference yeah,
but every seat was 10 feet fromthe stage, or?
Yeah, a little bit more thanthat.
It was probably 30 feet, butyeah it was very and they didn't
care where you went.
I mean, you had tickets, youhad the signed seats.
Tiffany Mason (01:13:40):
Yeah.
Jay Franze (01:13:41):
But no.
Tiffany Mason (01:13:42):
I love venues
like that, where it's small
enough that every seat's a goodseat.
Jay Franze (01:13:46):
Yeah, and I mean
they were able to see everybody
in the audience and everybody inthe audience was able to talk.
And what I thought was funny ishe's on stage.
He's like, oh, this is such anintimate venue and this is
amazing.
We don't normally get to playvenues like this.
We're too busy, you know, playing arenas.
It's like ain't no way you'restill playing arenas, but it was
(01:14:06):
still very cool.
It was very, very good.
I like it a lot.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:11):
He was trying to
impress the honeys still.
Jay Franze (01:14:13):
Anywho, that was all
I really had.
Tiffany Mason (01:14:17):
Well, I think
that was a lot.
That was all I really had Well.
I think, that was a lot.
That was good, was it?
Yeah, yeah, you had a coolconcert in we had a cool
interview.
Jay Franze (01:14:27):

was cool, anyway, all right.
